Adrian woke up the next day and looked over at Trudy's side of the bed. She was sleeping peacefully. He looked over at the clock. He knew he had to be at work by 9 o'clock. Normally, he loved work, but he didn't want to leave the house today. He just wanted to be with Trudy. Trudy woke up a few minutes after he got out of bed.

"Good morning honey," she said smiling.

"Hey," he whispered, "I was watching you sleep."

"No nightmares," she said smiling.

She paused.

"I was thinking," she said, "I should probably talk to a therapist about the bombing and the nightmares and all the stuff. Do you think that would be a good idea?"

I think it would be an excellent idea," Adrian replied.

They both got ready for the day.

"So maybe I can come by today and we can have lunch," Trudy suggested.

"Leland took me off the general force," Adrian said, "It turns out the girl they found in the garbage can wasn't Jennifer. I'm in charge of the people who are to find Jennifer."

"WOW! Adrian, that's an amazing responsibility you've been given," Trudy exclaimed.

Adrian began making breakfast.

"I just hope I'll be able to find her on time," he said.

Trudy put her hand on his shoulder.

"Adrian," she said, "You always solve your cases quicker than a cheetah."

She paused.

"I have no doubt you'll solve this case before the day is out."

Adrian grinned. Trudy had so much confidence in him. Even before he knew her as Trudy; when she was Natalie, she always believed in him.

"Sit down," he said, "Breakfast is ready."

Trudy sat down.

"Do you have any idea who to see," Adrian asked, changing the subject.

"A friend of mine recommended her therapist. His name is Neven Bell."

"I met him before," Adrian said, "He's a good therapist. Did you make an appointment?"

"He said he could fit me in today at noon," Trudy said.

"That sounds great," Adrian replied, "Do you need me to be there?"

"You have your job," Trudy reminded him gently.

"I hate to be away from you for 8 hours," he said.

Trudy smiled.

"I'll see you tonight," she said, "You know… I was thinking about doing some volunteering. I'm not sure where yet but I've been given so much. I should probably give back."

"That sounds like a great idea," Adrian said, "Maybe we can volunteer together. I have just as much to be grateful for as you do and probably more."

Trudy nodded.

"We'll figure out where later," she said.

Eight-thirty came, and Trudy kissed Adrian goodbye.

"I'll see you tonight," she told him.

"I'll be home as early as I can," he replied, "I love you, Trudy."

Adrian left the house. Trudy hummed to herself as she cleaned up. She knew how to clean up in a way that would make Adrian comfortable. After she was done, she got on the phone. She called her parents.

"Hi sweetheart," Marsha said as she picked up the phone.

"Hi mom," Trudy said brightly, "I hope I'm not calling too early."

Marsha laughed

"It's not too early at all," she said, "Honey you could call at 12 o'clock in the morning and it wouldn't be too early."

Trudy laughed too.

"Do you guys feel like coming up today around 1:30? Adrian's working today and I have an appointment with a therapist at noon."

"We'll be there," Marsha replied.

Dwight came out of the bathroom.

"Hang on," Marsha said, "Let me put your dad on."

After a couple of seconds Dwight picked up the phone.

"Hi honey," he said.

"Hey dad," Trudy replied.

Two days ago, when she'd said, "dad" she barely whispered the word. Today she said it loud and clear. She said the word cheerfully.

"Your mom says we're coming down at 1:30," Dwight said.

"Maybe we can catch a show," Trudy suggested.

"I'd love that," Dwight replied, "Pick the show and we'll order the tickets?"

"What about Newsies," Trudy suggested.

"That's great. Especially since you're a journalist."

Adrian looked through the file before he cleared his throat to begin.

"Alright," he said, "Let's get started."

Leland nodded.

"What do we know so far?" Michael asked.

"We don't know a whole lot," Wendy replied, "We know that someone kidnapped Jennifer and made it look like she was dead. We know that she wasn't dead. We also know that the longer this goes unsolved the less of a chance we have of finding her alive."

"Do we have any suspects," Daniel asked.

"We have a whole pool of suspects," Leland said, "From what I've been told the reason for the kidnapping appears to be in order to punish me. The person or people who did it seems to have been someone who went to jail because I arrested them, or my testimony led them or their family/friend to their sentence."

"Captain," Wendy asked, "Do you have Jennifer's social security number?"

"Of course," Leland said, "Why?"

"There's an app on the phone where you can track a person based on their social security number," Adrian answered for Wendy.

He looked at the clock. It was only a few hours until his lunch break… until he could call Trudy.

"What's the name of this app," Leland asked.

"It's called The Track App," Wendy said.

"Everyone," Adrian ordered, "Download the app on your phone."

Once that was done Jennifer's social security number was plugged in.

"The next time the person with her makes a purchase it will track where they are."

"I think we should put this on the news," Tom suggested.

"I don't know," Leland said, "What if the person or people who tried to take her see it?"

Adrian looked at the clock again.

"Monk? Are you alright?" Randy asked.

"I'm better than alright," Adrian said, "Trudy's alive. She survived the bombing. It's my first day away from her since I found out so I'm a little anxious to call her but-"

"Wait a minute," Mike said, "Back up. Trudy's alive?"

"Trudy? Trudy as in your wife?" Michael asked.

"Yes," Adrian said.

"How is that possible," Wendy asked.

Leland tapped his foot, impatient. He understood his friend's feelings but right now the most important thing was finding his daughter– alive!

"It's a long story," Adrian said, recounting it.

"Um… Monk?"

Adrian looked up.

"Look," Leland continued, "I know Trudy is alive and I'm very happy for you. I want Jennifer to be found alive. Can we please put a pause on the Trudy talk?"

"Trudy used to be a journalist, right?" Randy asked.

"She did," Adrian replied, "Why?"

"Maybe she could have her friends at the paper put Jennifer's story and picture in the newspaper. That way it would get the word out there without attracting too much attention from the person or people who took her."

"That's an excellent idea," Leland said.

"I'll call her now," Adrian excitedly offered.

"Of course, you will," Leland mumbled.

Adrian left the room to call Trudy. He came back into the room 10 minutes later.

"She said her friends would be happy to do that," Adrian told everyone.

Trudy knocked on her therapist's door. Neven Bell opened the door and smiled warmly at Trudy.

"You must be Trudy," he said.

"I am," Trudy replied.

"Well take a seat," he told her.

She sat down.

"Let's begin by you telling me how it's been for you to go from being Trudy to Natalie back to Trudy again," Neven suggested.'

Trudy twisted her hands nervously.

"To be honest," she said, "I don't remember much of being Trudy before the bombing. My memories are coming back but slowly. The thing is, I was never Natalie. I was always Trudy. I just didn't know that I was Trudy."

"Who knows that you're Trudy," Neven asked.

"Well, I know of course," Trudy replied.

Neven laughed.

"My husband Adrian knows," Trudy continued, "My parents know. Everyone in my mom's grief center knows. My brother-in-law knows. My friend Angela knows. My husband's friends Leland and Joseph know and by now I'm sure Leland's wife and my friend Karen knows."

"I understand you've been through some tough times," Neven cautiously questioned, "Have any of those memories surfaced?"

"This started with me dreaming about the bombing," Trudy replied, "It was a dream I had over and over again for about five nights in a row. After the fifth night I called my husband, who at the time I knew as my boss and best friend Mr. Monk."

Trudy laughed at that.

"Even though it was past midnight he came over to my house and that's when Adrian figured out that I was actually Trudy."

Neven nodded.

"It sounds like Adrian is protective of you," he said, "Coming over to your home in the middle of the night for instance."

Trudy smiled remembering the story Adrian told her about the reason he was called Electric Love.

"He always was," Trudy said, "Even before we knew I was Trudy he had been there for me countless times as "Natalie". I loved him for a long time. He loves me too. The thing that's hard to wrap my head around is that "Natalie" never existed. I'm changing who I am. I'm going from someone that I never was to someone that I have always been."

"That's a very good way of putting it," Neven replied.

"When I was a child, I won two Emmy Awards," Trudy said, "One when I was six and the other one when I was eight."

"For Moral Bears? My children are big fans of Moral Bears. The original is their favorite, so they've seen you as a child.

Trudy smiled.

"I'd be happy to sign an autograph for them," she offered, "or to meet them."

"They would love that," Neven replied.

He looked at the clock.

"Well, I'm afraid our time is up," he said, "I'll see you next week at the same time."

Trudy smiled and wrote him out a check for $60.00. She walked back to her house. It was a short walk. Her parents got there around 1 o'clock.

"Sorry we're a little early," Dwight said.

"We just wanted to see you," Marsha added.

"Where's Adrian," Dwight asked.

Trudy laughed.

"He's working," she said, "He's called me four times today so far."

"We got tickets for the night show," Marsha said, "So that way Adrian can attend the show too."

"Sounds perfect," Trudy grinned, "Newsies is a favorite of both of us."
