Trudy looked at the clock. It was nearly noon. Adrian had an appointment with Dr. Kroger and Trudy would be meeting her friend Angela. She was really nervous. She hardly remembered her old friend.

"I'll see you in an hour," Trudy told Adrian.

She promised to pick him up from Dr. Kroger.

"Okay," Adrian smiled, "Honey relax. This meeting will go just fine."

"I just… I hardly remember her. I hope that doesn't offend her."

"Trudy," he said gently, "You survived a car bombing. You literally had no memory until less than a week ago. Angela will understand that."

Trudy nodded.

"Sometimes it still feels weird," she admitted, "I just don't remember myself so much. My memories are starting to come back but…"

Her voice trailed off. Adrian smiled gently.

"It's weird for me too," he said, "Last week I certainly didn't wake up thinking it was going to be the best day of my life."

Trudy thought of something.

"Imagine if I had been the one to remember who I was. You probably would have thought I was crazy."

"I don't believe in crazy," Adrian said.

They both shared a smile.

"I think it would take a little more getting used to if you realized it instead of me," he admitted.

She dropped him at the building. She kissed him and drove the 4 minutes to Starlight where she met Angela.

"So, Adrian," Dr. Kroger began after Adrian sat down, "Last week was a big week for you."

"Yes," Adrian replied, "The biggest part of it would be the fact that Trudy is alive."

"I understand," Dr. Kroger replied, "Still it must have been quite a shock."

Adrian laughed.

"Shocked doesn't even begin to compare to how I felt," he said, "Shocks are painful. Finding out that I have my wife back after losing her for ten years is beyond the best thing that ever happened to me."

"Adrian, does anyone else know about Trudy?"

"Of course," Adrian said, "Leland knows. Joseph knows. Trudy's parents know. Ambrose knows. Trudy's friend Angela knows. Trudy is actually meeting up with Angela now."

"Are her memories coming back," Dr. Kroger asked.

"Slowly," Adrian replied nodding, "But it's only been a week."

"Has she been afraid of driving," Dr. Kroger asked.

"She has been," Adrian admitted, "Though I've been encouraging her to do so. I don't want her to live her life in fear. I know what it's like living your life in fear."

"Where is she now?"

"She's meeting a friend at Starlight. She'll be picking me up in an hour."

"Is she talking to someone?"

"Yes. She has a therapist named Dr. Neven Bell."

"I know Dr. Bell," Dr. Kroger replied smiling, "He's an excellent therapist. I actually used to go to him, and he helped me a lot. How is he with Trudy?"

"She seems to be making progress even with only one appointment so far," Adrian said, "Her next appointment is Wednesday."

Trudy spotted Angela right away.

"Trudy," Angela called.

Trudy jogged over to her friend.

"It's so good to see you," Angela said, hugging Trudy.

Trudy smiled.

"It's great to see you too," she said, "My memories are starting to come back."

"Have you remembered me yet," Angela asked.

"I'm beginning to," Trudy said, "We met at the hospital, right?"

"We were both four-years-old," Angela replied nodding, "You had leukemia and I had a malignant tumor in my shoulder. We met in the waiting room, and you started up a conversation because you saw I looked nervous. You told me it was nothing to be scared of. You said when you get your treatment, they-"

"Didn't hurt because they put you to sleep; not like a dog and you don't feel the owees," Trudy interrupted, smiling at the memory.

"Exactly," Angela said, "We both went into remission on the same day two years later."

Trudy nodded. She remembered that very well.

"Have you ever seen Moral Bears," she asked.

"I was in Moral Bears," Angela reminded Trudy, "I played BEARY SWEET bear."

"That's… I'm sorry. I should have remembered that"

"The memories will come back to you," Angela said.

"They are already starting to," Trudy repeated, "It's just that I feel like I'm blind and trying to feel my way through this maze."

Angela nodded.

"You lost 10 years of your life," she said.

"So, what about you," Trudy asked, "Are you married? Do you have kids?"

"My ex-husband was a jackass," Angela said, "I went through a very tough time, and he did nothing but criticize me and verbally and physically abuse me. I have three girls. Jenny is seven. Kristine is three and Maggie is going to be three months old tomorrow."

"Do you have any pictures of them," Trudy asked.

"Of course," Angela replied.

She showed Trudy the pictures.

"They are so beautiful," Trudy smiled, "I'd love to meet them."

Angela nodded.

"They would love meeting you," she said, "Why don't we go to my house. Jenny gets home from school in an hour and-"

"I have to pick Adrian up in 45 minutes," Trudy interrupted.

"Oh," Angela thought, "Can we get together sometime next week?"

"How about Friday night," Trudy suggested, "Maybe Adrian and my parents could come too."

Angela smiled.

"Of course," she said, "But we have to figure out some time when we can meet up just the two of us."

"We will," Trudy promised, "It's just been so long since I've been myself. It's been literally 7 days since I regained my identity."

"Are you speaking to someone," Angela asked.

"I am," Trudy replied.

She paused for a moment.

"What about you," she asked, "You've been through a lot?"

"Yes. I've been speaking to a therapist since my divorce. She's helped me find my confidence again."

"It's a horrible thing to lose your confidence," Trudy replied seriously.

"I know," Angela commented.

Angela nodded.

"How long have you been divorced," Trudy asked.

"Ever since I got pregnant with Maggie," Angela said.

"What happened?"

"Well Scott decided that he was going to try something called 'domestic discipline'. He told me that I didn't have a choice in the matter. I calmly said it wasn't going to happen. He told me if I didn't like it there's the door. I took the kids and left."

"He sounds like a jackass," Trudy said.

"I won't have the girls exposed to that," Angela stated firmly.

"No. I wouldn't have my kids exposed to that either nor would I allow that to happen to me. I was never even punished as a child."

"You mean physically?" Angela asked.

"No," Trudy said, "I mean in any way."

"Wow," Angela said, "I have to learn how to be as positive as you are."

Trudy laughed.

"I'm positive," she asked, "I don't remember."

"You make it seem so natural," Angela said.

Trudy's watch beeped.

"I have to go now," she said hugging her friend, "Adrian's appointment with Dr. Kroger ends in five minutes."

"Okay," Angela said, "I'll see you Friday."

They decided on Friday at seven o'clock PM. Trudy drove the four minutes to pick up Adrian. She walked into the building just as Adrian was walking out.

"Hey honey," Adrian said, "How was seeing your friend?"

"Great. We're seeing her on Friday at seven o'clock PM," Trudy replied.

She paused and added, "If that's okay with you"
