Leland called Monk right when they were leaving.

"How is she," Adrian asked.

"She's been through a lot," Leland said, "Where are the boys?"

"They're in the playroom playing Clue. They've been playing for hours."

"We're on the way back," Leland said, "We'll be home in about 20 minutes."

"Should we get the boys upstairs," Adrian asked.

There was a mere second of a pause.

"Not yet," Leland said, "In about fifteen minutes. Tell them we have a surprise for them when we get home."

"Will do," Adrian replied smiling.

Fifteen minutes later Adrian called Max and Jared upstairs. They came up laughing. Jared had an arm around Max.

"Sit down boys," Trudy said smiling.

Jared and Max both sat down.

"Is everything okay," Max asked Trudy nervously.

Trudy smiled.

"Everything is better than okay," she said, "Your parents have a surprise for you when they get home."

"Is it pizza," Max asked.

Karen almost never let the kids have pizza. Adrian chuckled.

"It's better than pizza," he said.

"Is it a puppy," Jared asked.

He and Max both wanted a puppy, but Leland was allergic to animal fur. They were in the process of looking for a puppy with hair instead of fur.

"It's better than a puppy," Trudy said, "When you see this surprise, you're going to want to scream with excitement but it's important that you stay calm. Things are a little different than they used to be."

"Eventually it will go back to similar to the way it was but for awhile," Adrian's voice trailed off.

Max and Jared looked at each other; understanding what Trudy and Adrian were talking about and thrilled about it.

"Jennifer?" they both asked at the same time.

"Yes. She was found today," Adrian said.

Jared and Max jumped up and hugged each other.

"Is she okay," Max asked.

Adrian smiled.

"She will be," he promised.

"What happened to her," Max pressed.

"You'll find out," Trudy replied, "The important thing is that she's back."

"How does someone come back from the dead," Max asked.

"She wasn't really dead," Jared said, "Someone just made it seem like she was dead."

"Well, whoever did that is a very bad person," Max intoned sternly.

"That's definitely one possibility," Jared said, "But the other is that he or she is a very mentally ill person and needs help."

Max thought about that.

"I guess that could be true," Max said, "But that person made mommy and daddy and you and me so sad."

"You know Max," Adrian said, "One time there was someone who made me very sad for a long time."

"Did you agive him or her," Max asked.

"Forgive him," Trudy gently corrected.

"And yes," Adrian replied, "I did forgive him. I don't think I'll ever be friends with him, but I know now that he had problems."

"Who talked you into forgiving him," Max asked.

"The person who he hurt," Adrian replied, "She said that he wasn't a bad person, just a sick person. She also said that forgiveness isn't for the person you forgive but for yourself. Anger is like a block in the way. If you handle it in a healthy way you can get around it. If you let it eat you up-"

"Like you eat a pizza," Max asked.

"No," Trudy said laughing, "Eat you up is just an expression."

"Anyway if you let the anger get to you you'll never be able to move anywhere"

"Sort of like being in jail right," Jared asked.

"Kind of," Trudy said, "But if you forgive the person that hurt you, he or she doesn't have power over you anymore."

"What if he or she hurts someone you love," Jared asked.

"Yeah. I can forgive someone who hurted me but he or she also hurted mommy and daddy and Jared and Jennifer."

Jared pulled Max into a hug. He didn't say a word– just held his brother tight for a moment.

Leland and Karen pulled up to the driveway. Jennifer had fallen asleep. Karen gently woke her. She still started whilst waking up.

"It's okay honey," Leland told her, "You're safe now. You're home."

Jennifer smiled. She was a little shaky on her feet. Karen picked her up and carried her to the house. Leland opened the door.

"Boys," he said to Jared and Max, "We have a surprise for you."

Karen walked in carrying Jennifer. Jared and Max were over the moon.

"Can we hug her," Max asked, remembering she'd been through a lot.

"Of course," Jennifer answered as Karen gently placed her down, "I love you guys."

The boys hugged her tightly. It was minutes before they let go.

Jennifer was twelve but she was small enough to fit into Karen's arms. Jared was eight. Max was four.

Jennifer drank several glasses of water.

"Does she have diabetes," Jared asked Leland when Jennifer was out of earshot, "She drank a lot of water."

Leland ruffled his son's hair.

"No buddy," he said, "She's dehydrated."

"Is she going to be okay," Jared asked.

"She'll be fine," Leland assured his son.

"Dad," Max asked, "Mom… can we go to Fun Zone for dinner tonight."

"Sure," Karen said, and Leland nodded in agreement.

"I guess that's our cue to leave," Adrian laughed.

"Thank you for taking care of the boys Monk," Leland told him appreciatively.

Adrian smiled.

"They're great kids," he said.

"They really love you," Leland told Adrian.

Trudy and Adrian left the house. They drove back to the house.

"I'm so glad that Leland and Karen as well as the boys have Jennifer back," Adrian commented.

Trudy was just about to respond when her cell phone rang. It was her mom.

"Hey mom," Trudy said brightly.

"Hi honey. I just finished up my volunteering. I was wondering if I might come visit you and Adrian tonight."

"Sure," Trudy smiled, "Is dad coming too?"

"He'll be there a little later," Marsha said, "He's working late tonight."

"Great," Trudy said, "What time do you want to come over?"

"I could come over in about 45 minutes if that's not a problem."

"I told you. If you decide to go on our honeymoon with us that would maybe be taking it a little too far but other than that…"

Marsha laughed.

"You two are welcome to come on our trip," she said seriously, "In fact your dad and I would love it if you did. We're going to Spain for a week and afterwards we're going to Argentina for another week."

Trudy raised an eyebrow.

"Seriously," she asked.

"It was your dad's idea to go to both places," Marsha said.

"Are you going to do the tour of the Casa Rosada," Trudy asked.

"Of course," Marsha said.

"I'll ask Adrian if he's game," Trudy said, "I doubt he'll have a problem with it though."

"With what," Adrian asked.

"Hang on a sec mom," Trudy said.

She put her phone by her side.

"Mom and dad are going on a trip to Spain and Argentina. She asked us if we wanted to join them."

"Do you want to," Adrian asked.

"I'd love to," Trudy said.

"Great," Adrian grinned, "Let's do it then."

"Thank you honey," Trudy said, kissing him.

She put the phone back to her ear.

"We would love to," she told her mom.

"Perfect," Marsha replied.

"Maybe we could go to Starlight when your parents get here," Adrian suggested.

"Mom," Trudy asked, "What would you think of us going to Starlight after dad gets here?"

"That's a great idea," Marsha replied.

"Wonderful," Trudy said, "It was Adrian's idea."

The doorbell rang. Adrian went to get the door and his eyes widened in shock to see Ambrose standing on the other side of the door.

"Ambrose," he said, "What are you doing here?"

"Practicing for coming to your wedding," Ambrose said, "My therapist Dr. Sussan said that the best way is to start small. I figured visiting my little brother and my sister-in-law would be a good start. I'll only be here for like ten minutes. Did I choose a bad time?"

Adrian smiled widely.

"Not at all," he said, "It's great to see you."

The brothers shared an awkward hug.

"Dwight and Marsha are coming over soon," Adrian told Ambrose, "We're going to Starlight."

"I'll be out of your way by that time," Ambrose promised.

"Can I get you anything," Adrian asked.

"I'm good," Ambrose said smiling.

"Sit down," Adrian said.

Ambrose sat down.

Trudy got off the phone with Marsha a few seconds later. She sat down next to Adrian and across from Ambrose. They talked for a few minutes.

"So Ambrose," Adrian asked, "How do you talk to your therapist?"

"I talk to her through the computer," Ambrose replied, "She's great. Her name is Nicole Sussan. She's been so helpful."

"That's wonderful," Trudy said.

"I'm going to have to stop seeing her soon," Ambrose said, "She's raising her price to $1,000 a month and I can't exactly afford that right now. My job is pretty slow and-"

"If she's helping you don't stop seeing her," Adrian said, "I'd be happy to pay for her to help you."

"Thank you Adrian," Ambrose said, "and I will pay you back."

"You don't have to," Adrian replied, "Just continue to get better. That's the best way you can pay me back."
