A few days passed. On the tenth day of the Trudy reunion Marsha called Trudy up.

"Hey mom," Trudy said, "What's up?"

"I was just wondering if we could go shopping for wedding dresses, veils, jewelry and shoes," Marsha asked.

"That sounds great," Trudy replied, "Adrian's working today so we have all day. I'll make some lunch and-"

"You will do no such thing," Marsha said laughing, "We'll go out to lunch; my treat."

"Okay," Trudy smiled, "See you in an hour?"

"Sounds great. I love you," Marsha said.

"Love you too mom," Trudy told her mother.

Trudy's phone beeped and Trudy saw it was Angela calling.

"Mom," Trudy said, "Angela's calling. I have to go now. I'll see you in like an hour."

Trudy picked up the phone.

"Hey Ang," she said, "What's up?"

"Scott… wants… custody… of… the… girls," Angela replied sobbing.

"What? That's ridiculous," Trudy exclaimed, "There's no judge in this world who would grant him custody."

"He said he would get them," Angela said, "He has-"

"He has his head up his a$$ is what he has," Trudy said firmly, "I'll have Adrian talk some sense into him."

"Thank you," Angela replied.

Trudy said goodbye and hung up. She called Adrian and explained the situation to him.

"I'll have a word with him," Adrian promised, "What are you doing today?"

"Going shopping with my mom for wedding dresses, veils, jewelry and shoes. Mom is also taking me to lunch."

"Text me pictures," Adrian said smiling.

Marsha got there an hour later. They started at the Bridal Emporium. The first gown Trudy tried on was a ball gown sleeveless sweetheart cathedral train applique sequin tulle wedding dress.

"What do you think mom," Trudy asked.

"It's beautiful," Marsha said grinning.

She remembered years ago the first time she shopped for wedding dresses with her daughter. Marsha took a photo on her phone and sent it to Adrian.

"Here try this one," she said handing Trudy a ball gown tulle appliques off-the-shoulder long sleeves sweep/Brush train wedding dress.

Trudy tried it on.

"It doesn't feel comfortable," she said.

Then Trudy's eyes fell on the perfect wedding dress. It was a custom-made Luxury crystal beaded 3D lace embroidery floral glimmering off the shoulder royal princess ball gown fairy wedding dress.

"It's $1,799.00," the salesgirl said.

The shoes they chose were $4,700.00. After the wedding shopping they went out to lunch. After lunch they went back to Marsha and Dwight's home. Dwight had just gotten home from work.

"Trudy," he exclaimed, hugging her, "What a wonderful surprise!"

"Mom and I just finished shopping for the dress, veil, jewelry and shoes," Trudy explained, hugging him back, "Want to see what we got?"

"Of course, I do," Dwight said.

Trudy showed him a picture. Dwight got tears in his eyes. She looked so beautiful.

"You look perfect," he said, kissing her forehead.

"Thanks dad," Trudy smiled, "I love you guys."

Later that day Dwight's friend Sebastian came over.

"So," Sebastian said, "I want to apologize for being rude the other day… when we first met."

"If I were in your shoes," Dwight said, "I would probably have the same exact feelings. I know that when Trudy 'died' if I found out someone's daughter was still alive after they were thought dead for ten years I wouldn't handle it very well at all."

"Thanks for understanding," Sebastian said, "and thank you for being my friend."

"Of course," Dwight replied, "Honey this is my friend Sebastian."

"It's wonderful to meet you," Marsha told Sebastian.

"Well you're meeting me on a good day," Sebastian said laughing, "So what did you do today?"

"Trudy and I went to the Bridal Emporium," Marsha smiled, "We got the perfect outfit for her complete with jewelry and shoes."

Dwight showed him the picture that Trudy showed him and sent him.

"She's beautiful. That outfit must have cost you a pretty penny."

"It was about $6,000," Marsha replied.

Dwight raised an eyebrow grinning.

"That is a pretty penny," he said.

"Are you going to get mad," Sebastian asked.

"I don't get mad," Dwight replied, "Getting mad is pointless."

"Maybe if I was more like you," Sebastian said, "Gillian wouldn't have been taken from me. GOD must have been angry at me because He took my little girl"

"GOD loves you," Marsha said, "and He didn't take her. He just took her home to heaven."

Adrian called Scott Krimpy into the office.

"Yes Captain?"

"So it's come to my attention that you are trying to get custody of your daughters?" Monk said.

Scott laughed.

"Did I tell a joke and miss the punchline," Adrian asked.

"I'm not actually going to do that," Scott said, "I'm just trying to teach Angela a lesson."

"Really? What lesson are you trying to teach her exactly?"

"She refuses to accept my position as head of the household. I mean what would you do if-"

"Just a reminder. You and Angela are divorced," Adrian interrupted.

"She refused to let me try domestic discipline," Scott said, "It saved my parents' marriage. What would you do in my shoes?"

"What would I do? First, I wouldn't have come up with such a ridiculous idea in the first place."

"Well, we can't all be-"

"Second I would never arrest-"

"Let's not go there," Scott suggested

"No. I don't know what is with you, but you certainly are a good person who has issues. You're never going to get your way about anything if you keep doing dumbass things."

"Let's pretend you understand what I'm going through," Scott said, "Remember? You've been through tough times before… of course none of that counts now."

"What exactly are you going through," Adrian asked.

"You don't understand," Scott said.

"So, explain it to me," Adrian replied.

"I have no friends," Scott said, "Everyone is against me and everything in my life is falling apart."

"Nobody is against you," Adrian said, "and you have at least one friend."

"Who?"

"I'm your friend," Adrian said.

Adrian could see that the last thing Scott needed was to be held accountable for his depression. He needed kindness, compassion, love, respect and understanding.

"I'll apologize to Angela," Scott said.

Adrian smiled. He got home that night a few hours later. On the way home he called Leland to fill him in.

"Thank you, Monk," Leland said, "It means a lot to me that you're doing this."

"Of course," Adrian said.

He paused.

"How's Jennifer," he asked.

"She had a severe panic attack last night," Leland said, "She seems much better now but this hurts me to see her suffering like she is."

Adrian completely understood that.

"I feel the same way when Trudy is struggling," he said.

"Every time that happens you protect her," Leland said laughing, "If she were pregnant you would go through labor for her if you could."

Adrian laughed.

"You would do the same thing for Karen," he pointed out, "or Jennifer, Jared, Max and Caroline for that matter."

"I know I would," Leland said seriously.

"How's Karen," Adrian asked, changing the subject, "And the baby?"

"They're both doing great," Leland replied proudly, "Jared won the big game yesterday and Max got the lead in his nursery school play."

"You must be so proud," Adrian commented.

"I am," Leland said, "Karen and the baby are coming home tomorrow."

Leland's phone beeped.

"Hold on Monk," he said, "I have a text message."

It was an anonymous number and the message chilled Leland to the bone.

Welcome to my nightmare; how does it feel?
