That night Dwight and Marsha were both too excited to sleep.

"I'm so excited about the party," Marsha said.

"So am I," Dwight replied, "and I had an idea for it too. We should get a karaoke machine. Remember how Trudy used to love karaoke when she was little?"

"Oh yeah," Marsha grinned, "Could you rent the machine tomorrow?"

"We have one at the studio," Dwight replied, "I'll bring it home tomorrow."

"Thanks," Marsha airily intoned, "I'm going to make all her favorite foods for the party. We'll need to get pretzels of course and…"

"We have the list," Dwight assured her.

"You know I was thinking about the wedding. We should get them a limousine with all the bells and whistles. I saw on an article that there are even some limos that have a hot tub."

"All stretch limos have that," Dwight replied, "Let me just figure out how many limos we'll need."

He did some calculations.

"It looks like we'll need 12 limos," he said, "Call Beth in the morning?"

Marsha's sister Beth owned a limo company.

"Sure," Marsha replied, "I'll bet she'll give us a great discount."

Dwight smiled.

"She always does," he said, "Your little sister is a lifesaver."

Marsha shook her head.

"GOD is a lifesaver," she said, "Also the doctor that saved Trudy is a lifesaver."

"No question about that," Dwight replied, "I never even met Dr. Decker and I love him because he saved Trudy."

"Me too," Marsha said.

"Hey, maybe we should set up the trampoline,"

"That's a great idea," Marsha exclaimed, "Trudy loves the trampoline and so does Adrian."

The night passed by quickly and soon it was time to get up. Marsha called her sister and explained what she needed for the wedding.

"Sure," Beth said, "Consider it a gift."

"Thanks Beth," Marsha said, "See you at the party."

"Absolutely," Beth replied, "I love you."

"I love you too," Marsha said smiling.

She hung up the phone.

"So," Dwight asked, "Did she give us a discount?"

"She gave us the limos for free," Marsha replied.

"Wow," Dwight exclaimed, "That's incredible."

"This party is going to be great," Marsha exclaimed, "I went all out."

"We went all out," Dwight laughed.

"Yes," Marsha said, "WE went all out. Did you tell Adrian what time to be at the house?"

"Of course," Dwight said, "I told him 10:10."

"Knowing Adrian, he'll probably come 10 seconds after 10:10," Marsha teased.

Dwight and Marsha had a lot to do to make the party perfect. They had to clean the house to Adrian's comfort level. That took about 2 ½ hours. They cooked all the food and baked the cake. They set up the trampoline. Dwight went to the studio to pick up the Karaoke machine. They decorated the entire house from top to bottom. By the time the first guests had arrived everything was all set up.

Leland rang the doorbell. Marsha answered the door.

"Hey everyone," she said, "Hi Caroline," she crooned, "You are so cute."

She looked at Karen.

"Could I hold her," she asked.

"Of course," Karen said putting the baby in Marsha's arms.

"So," Marsha asked Karen, "How are you feeling?"

"Pretty good considering," Karen said.

"We got good news from the doctor yesterday," Leland added, "Her tests came back perfect."

"That's great," Dwight smiled, "I wanna hold her too."

Karen nodded as Marsha passed Caroline over to her husband

"We all got gifts for Trudy," Leland said.

"Great. Put the bag of gifts outside on the table," Marsha said enthusiastically.

"MOMMY," Max said, "They have kokie"

"Karaoke Max," Leland corrected, laughing.

"And they have a trampoline," Jennifer exclaimed.

"Do you know how sweet Max is," Karen asked Marsha, "When I had to have my cancer treatment Max asked if he could take my treatment for me like his daddy did for him when he broke my grandmother's lamp."

"I explained to Max that when he grows up things will seem different then it is now. What was wrong may seem right and what is right may seem wrong."

"That sounds like a line from Les Misérables," Jennifer said.

Leland nodded approvingly.

"There is a line like that in Les Misérables Jennifer," he said,

"Had you been there tonight you might know how it feels to be struck to the bone in a moment of breathless delight. Had you been there tonight you might also have known how your world may be changed in just one burst of light and what was right seems wrong and what was wrong seems right." Jared said, reciting the line.

Leland smiled.

"Exactly," he said.

"When did you see it," Jennifer asked Jared.

"My friend Robyn really liked the movie," Jared explained, "So I saw it with her."

Jennifer grinned. Her little brother had a crush on a girl.

"That's so cute," Jennifer said, "You like Robyn."

"Of course I do," Jared said, "She's my best friend."

The doorbell rang again. It was Ilizabeth and Shane.

"Ilizabeth," Marsha exclaimed, "It's so good to see you."

Ilizabeth hugged Marsha and then Dwight.

"It's great to see you guys too," she said, "When is the guest of honor getting here?"

"10:10," Marsha said laughing.

"Sounds about right for Adrian," Shane joked.

"Oh yeah," Leland said, "That was the time he set after the protest incident. I asked him why 10:10. He said, "double 10's. It's perfect." I asked him why don't we just make it whenever while we're at it to which he replied, "I'm fine with 'whenever' but it's too uncertain." I couldn't help but roll my eyes."

Shane laughed.

"Somehow I'm guessing you did things a little differently," Shane said.

"Yes," Leland said.

Ilizabeth went to put the gifts on the table. Dwight came into the room Marsha was in with a small, wrapped box in his hand.

"Marsha," he said, "I got you a gift too."

"You did? Honey, that's so sweet of you," Marsha said.

"It's not as good as the gift we both got last month," Dwight admitted sheepishly.

"I know," Marsha said.

"How do you know," Dwight asked with a twinkle in his eye.

"Because nothing with the exception of nothing can beat the gift, we got last month tomorrow. Finding out that our daughter was still alive; is still alive is the greatest gift that could ever be granted to us."

"Absolutely," Dwight said, "But I saw this when I was at the store the other day and I thought it would be perfect for you."

He handed her the gift and she smiled as she opened it. It was a heart shaped pin.

"100% perfect in my eyes," she read aloud, "Oh Dwight it's beautiful."

Dwight kissed her and pinned it on her.

"It's beautiful," Dwight agreed, "But you, more so."

Marsha blushed not realizing she did.

"I love you," he told her.

"I love you too," Marsha said.

The bell rang again. It was Beth and Hannah. Marsha answered the door. She hugged her niece and her sister.

"Aunt Marsha," Hannah exclaimed, "Your pin is beautiful."

Marsha grinned.

"Thanks," she said, "You're Uncle Dwight got it for me today."

"Cool," Beth said, "It looks great on you. Oh, where should we put the presents?"

"Outside on the table," Marsha said, "and then go mingle. Ilizabeth is here and so is Shane. Leland, Karen, Jennifer, Jared, Max and Caroline are here too. The rest of the guests should be here soon."

"Who else is coming," Hannah asked.

"Let's see," Marsha said, "Angela and her three kids. The surgeon that saved Trudy and his two girls. Joseph and Alison with their twins Rylie and Rayne. All of our family and friends and-"

"What's the surgeon's name," Hannah asked looking interested.

"His name is Mitch Decker. He's a widower with two young daughters, Julie, age 12 and Taylor, age 5."

"I like him already," Hannah said.

"You haven't even met him," Dwight pointed out, "How do you know you like him?"

"He saved my cousin's life," Hannah replied.

She went to put the presents on the table. The doorbell rang again. It was Mitch, Julie and Taylor.

"Hey Jenn," Julie said the second she saw her friend.

The two of them shared a hug. They went by the pool.

"You know what I'm thinking?" Karen asked Leland, "I think we should have a party for Jennifer."

"Great idea," Leland said, "But are you up for it?"

"Leland, I beat cancer and gave birth last month," Karen pointed out, "I think I can handle a party for a twelve-year-old."

"THAT'S why I'm concerned," Leland said gently, "You've been through a lot."

"Key word there is been. It's the past."

Caroline started to cry and Karen and Leland both knew she needed a new diaper.

Leland took her and changed her.

"Hi," Hannah said, "You must be the surgeon who saved my cousin."

Mitch smiled.

"How did you know that was me," he asked.

"Well I recognized everyone else," Hannah explained, "I didn't recognize you. You look pretty young for a surgeon. How old are you?"

"I'm 34," Mitch replied, "How about you?"

"I'm 18," Hannah replied, "So how long have you known Dwight and Marsha?"

"I knew of them," Mitch replied, "I came to the party because it's to honor and celebrate Trudy. She's a dear friend to me."

Hannah nodded.

"She's my favorite cousin. I was only eight when the bombing happened. I remember being so mad when we lost her."

Mitch smiled.

"But you didn't lose her," he pointed out.

Hannah laughed.

By now the rest of the guests had come. Hannah didn't even notice. She was busy talking to Mitch. Taylor came up to Hannah and Mitch.

"Daddy," Taylor said, "Can I go on the tampowine?"

"Trampoline," Mitch corrected, "And not yet. I don't want you jumping alone."

"Who's this," Taylor asked, smiling at Hannah.

"That's my new friend Hannah," Mitch said.

"Do you like her," Taylor asked.

"Sure," Mitch said, "She's my friend."
