ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

It was now five in the morning and Harry was still in the Chamber. That was something he forgot to think about, the time. He had no idea how to know how much time he passed in there. However, for now, that was the last thing he had in mind. He was so focused on his new training that he could not think of anything else.

He was utterly exhausted, but he did not want to give up. This tiredness was exactly what he was after. A state where he could surpass his limit. To understand how he found an effective training so fast, one must ga back five hours before.

FLASHBACK

Harry just sat to start his training in the Chamber of Secret. The problem was that he had no idea where to start. For lack of better idea, he started, as he always did, with his meditating. Contrary to his belief, he actually could think about something else when meditating, he was just no aware of it. That is how he thought about how his training would go.

He would at first just throw spells until he could no more. That was the first idea he went with. After a while, the only thing he got exhausted to, was to swing his wand. So, he needed to think about something else. Not something repetitive with no thoughts behind the spell.

Being in the Chamber of Secrets made him think about his second year, and more precisely the duel he had with Malfoy. Why had he thought about that? Because of the snake. If he remembered correctly, the incantation was Serpensortia.

From what he knew about the spell, it was not a difficult one to cast. But he also knew that it was never the same snake that came out for everyone. So maybe it depended on the focus, power, or something different from the caster.

Harry reached the conclusion that it could be two different things. Either the magical power used to cast the spell, or the core in itself. Since Chaos said everyone had a different one, it could be the reason.

However, the young Gryffindor decided to go with the first hypothesis. Because it was something he could actually control. The nature of his core or whatever was not something he had information about. So, from this point on, his training resumed.

"Serpensortia." He did not yell. He discovered those past weeks, that a spell will not work better if one scream it. The important part was the focus and the power. A detail that deserved to be raised was that his eyes were closed since the moment he sat in the Chamber. It was a part of his meditating stance.

From what he gathered, the focus included the intent, the imagination, and the concentration. That was the easy part. Indeed, his meditating helped a lot with that. However, he still struggled with the power.

Before this year, he never really thought about the power behind his spells. He now knew it was because he could never really feel how much he used.

However, when he casted the spell now, he could. He did not notice it yet, but his repetitive meditating made him enter a state where he could move while continuing his meditation. The effect was still better if he did not move, but still it was what helped him feel the amount of power he just used.

Harry was so deep in his thoughts that he almost did not see the 4 feet snake that had appeared before him.

"Not bad." He said to himself, smiling.

He smiled because now he knew he did not use that much of power in that spell, and his snake was still bigger than what he thought it would be.

"Let's try something bigger this time."

END OF FLASHBACK

He was panting hard. The floor was now full of snakes from different size. If someone looked closely, he could see some of them disappearing from time to time. And if someone looked even closer, he could see that they disappeared from the smallest to the largest. But all of them seemed to either loom respectfully around the Basilisk's carcass or staying still before Harry.

Look at this. It really is Slytherin's Chamber. Imagine if someone could see me now, I really look like a true Slytherin's heir now, don't I?

"And the last one for the road." He stood up, stretched his limbs. "I don't think I will be able to do more."

"Serpensortia." And Harry fell, face down on the floor.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Hermione was worried. Extremely worried. They just had breakfast, and there was still no trace of Harry. According to Ron, he was not in the dorm when the woke up this morning, and it seemed like the cloak and the map were not there too.

Ron said that Harry was just exploring the castle or something like that. He did not seem worried at all, and Hermione was the same before the breakfast, but now it was almost ten in the morning, and they still had no clue about where he was.

There was one more thing that scared her. It was Dumbledore. During the breakfast, she was looking around her to see if Harry would come or not. While doing that, she caught the eye of Professor Dumbledore. He was looking pensively, at the empty chair besides her. The one Harry habitually took When he saw Hermione, the Headmaster smiled cheerfully, as if there were no problems at all, and resumed his breakfast.

Hermione was now walking in the direction of the library. Not for the same purpose as usual. It was to see if Harry was in there.

She walked in and all around the library, but found no Basilisk slayer. Instead, she found someone that would help her. Maybe that person knew something. The only problem here was the fact that the person was not alone, they were two.

In all her time in Hogwarts, Hermione did not have a single civilized conversation with someone from Slytherin. And now for her friend, she would engage a conversation with not one, but two Slytherins, sisters on top of that.

Hermione sighed, took her courage in both hands, and walked towards the Greengrass' sisters.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

"How can you be so good at Potions with Snape as a teacher, that's beyond me." Astoria asked her sister who was helping her with a potion assignment.

"The fact that you are bad at it, even with Snape favoring the Slytherins, is weirder."

Astoria pouted and went on to write her homework. She would gladly stop what she was doing now to go flying with Harry. She wanted to go at it again since the last time they did it, but every time she wanted to ask him, he looked so exhausted that she renounced.

The last few days, he was better. He looked in good spirits, and not tired at all. She then decided to ask him the weekend. That was the plan, but when she went on breakfast, he was nowhere to be seen, and his friend, the girl with bushy hair seemed to also look for him. Astoria then decided to first be done with her assignments and to ask him later at lunch or dinner. Okay, maybe I did not decide that by myself, and maybe Daphne forced me. But who cares, the result is the same.

A flick on the forehead bring her back to reality. Daphne often did that to tease her, but she had no idea how much it hurts. How can a finger hit that hard? That makes no sense.

A throat clearing, interrupted the sisters in the quarrel that would surely happened otherwise. They both turned their heads towards the person behind them. And both of them were surprised. Daphne hid it well, but her sister was slightly gaping.

"Hum, sorry to bother you. But I wanted to ask you something if possible." Hermione Granger asked, her eyes on Astoria.

Daphne immediately looked suspicious. She had no problem or whatsoever with Granger, she was a smart girl, maybe a little too enthusiastic, but form what she had seen in Runes and Arithmancy, she was not a bad person. However, Daphne was very protective of her sister, and seeing someone, a Gryffindor, reaching out for her, was really weird.

"What do you want."

It came out so aggressively that Hermione took a step back, but she had that persistent look on her face. Whatever she was here for, it looked like it was something important.

"I was just wondering if your sister had any idea about the whereabouts of Harry." She asked. "He's been missing since this morning, and that worries me."

The answer made the retort, Daphne was ready to utter, die in her mouth. First because it was not something to bother Astoria. Second was because it was about Harry.

"Harry?" Astoria almost jumped out of her chair. "What do you mean missing?"

But before Hermione could answer, Daphne interrupted her.

"How would she know?" She put back her cold mask, she did not forget that Harry's friend or not, she was still a Gryffindor. "My sister is a Slytherin, why do you think she would know anything about a Gryffindor."

Hermione stared at her for a while. She seemed to have made her mind, and was about to answer, but Astoria cut her off in her tracks.

"Stop it Daffy, she knows I know him." Daphne glared at her, trying to kill with only her eyes for the use of the nickname. "I went to their compartment to talk with him."

Hermione looked at Daphne with a triumphant smile.

"But sorry, we did not see him today. Actually, I wanted to ask him something today, but I did not see him this morning. I thought maybe he was sleeping in, it's Saturday after all."

Daphne was about to say something when her sister wavered, and her head almost hit the table she was working on. She seemed to have recovered, but Daphne would not have any of this. She started packing their stuff.

"We're going to the infirmary. Now."

"It's nothing I swear. I'm just a little sleepy that's all." Astoria tried to avoid the infirmary at all costs. She hated it even if Madam Pomfrey was kind.

They both forgot they were not alone for a moment. So, they were surprised when Hermione Granger asked Astoria if she was okay, looking worried.

"Uh yeah don't worry. As I said, I'm just a little sleepy, I slept too late I guess."

Daphne did not look as she heard anything at all. She stood up, took Astoria's hand, and walked out the library. She was so worried that she did not notice that Hermione Granger was still following them when they entered the infirmary.

When she saw them entering the infirmary, Madam Pomfrey who was closing the curtains of a bed with a patient on it, she hurried to join them. As a member of the staff, she obviously knew about Astoria's condition. So, no questions were asked, she just accompanied her to a bed and went looking for a potion.

"Here." Madam Pomfrey gave Astoria the potion she just fetched. "It will help you feel better."

The younger Slytherin grimaced. That was a part of the reason she hated infirmary. The potions were always disgusting. Why could they not make something sweet for once. The matron seemed to know what she was thinking about because she chuckled.

"Sugar will make the potion useless Miss Greengrass. I'm sure we already talked about this in the past, didn't we?"

When Madam Pomfrey said her name, a gasp resounded in the quiet infirmary. It came from the bed the matron just left. The three young girls turned in the direction of the sound. The gasp they heard, reminded them of someone. But they all disregarded it. There was no way it was the person they thought about, what would he be doing here. That's what they thought, at least until Madam Pomfrey spoke up.

"Ah, Mister Potter, finally awake I see." She walked in the direction of the bed. "Your friend is here. Maybe I should ask her why you came into my infirmary this morning, face covered in blood."

It was now Hermione's turn to gasp.

"You didn't even talk, just collapsed into the bed."

She had now opened the curtains. Harry Potter was lying here, looking pale and exhausted. However, there were no sign of blood on his face. Only a few drops here and there on his clothes.

All of a sudden, Hermione rushed at Harry his bedside and engulfed him with a hug. It was not a short hug, Harry had to speak up for her to release him.

"Hermione, please… I can't breathe…"

"You, explain, now!" Hermione said in a cold voice. She was angry all right, and scary too.

Everyone in the room could hear the sound of Harry swallowing.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Harry was sure no one would ever come to the infirmary, and his passage here would never be known by anybody else than Madam Pomfrey. So why in the world, was there Hermione, Astoria, and Daphne there, the exact moment he woke up.

He was doomed, how was he to explain his state, and the inanimate thing that appeared on his wrist. He decided to cover it first and think about it later.

Harry cursed his luck and tried to rack his brain to find a valid explanation for Hermione. The glare she was sending him was honestly not helping. Neither were the one Daphne was sending him. At least Astoria did not glare him, she just looked at him with horror. Which, all things considered, was not better. Why did Pomfrey say that. Doesn't she know about medical secret?

"Uhm… You see… I was running and I fell."

Silence. No one talked in the infirmary every pairs of eyes were turned on him and Hermione. Who was by the way fuming. His answer did not seem to be satisfactory enough for her.

"Running?" She asked with a controlled voice.

Harry gulped.

"Yeah I was trying to improve my physical condition. You know, for Quidditch." He tried again. No way he could say her that he was in the Chamber of Secrets.

First because of the people around. Second, because if she reacts like she did last year with his Firebolt, he will not be able to train in there anymore.

Before she had time to answer, Astoria rose to her feet and joined them. Daphne following her closely.

"Are you okay?" She looked worried.

Madam Pomfrey looked at them. It was a weird combination. A Slytherin with a Gryffindor, and Harry Potter on top of that. Habitually they were at each other's throats. Not at their bedside.

"Yeah, it's nothing don't worry. I've had worse. What about you?"

The moment he said that, he knew he should not have. Three pair of eyes instantly turned to him, glaring hard. And before Astoria could answer his question, she got outpaced.

"Mister Potter, I hope you know that it's not because you had worse, that you can still be injured." Madam Pomfrey said with a sweet voice, to sweet. "Do I need to tell your friends exactly why you collapsed?"

Harry's mind froze for a second there. He completely forgot that she could have run diagnostic on him when he was out. Of course, she would know that his magic was drained after his training. If she told that to Hermione, he was dead. As simple as that. He needed to get out of here, fast. The only good point was that she apparently did not see the snake wrapped around his arm.

He had no idea where it came from, but since he came back from the Chamber it was there. It could not be any of the spell he casted. He was sure Serpensortia faded with some time. He had seen it with his own eyes. Even if he did not know exactly how much time passe since his collapsing, with his magical power depleted, no one of his conjuration could last that much. Plus, the snake gave no sign of being awake or even, alive. It was just here, around his arm.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, Madam Pomfrey. I was just tired after my morning session." He got up, monopolizing all his strength. "Now if you don't mind, I'm famished."

Madam Pomfrey was still looking at him, but did not, for once, stop him from getting out of here.

"Eat a lot, that's all you need now." She said while he was going out, followed closely by Hermione.

"Okay thank you Madam." He turned toward the Greengrass' sisters just before going out. "See you soon!" And he just ran out of that hellish infirmary.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

They were in their way to the Common Room and Hermione still tried to extort explanation from him. He sticked with his version, saying that he just tried to be in better shape and went running. Overextended himself and fell on a rock, but it seemed that Madam Pomfrey's little comment about his collapsing was not lost in the conversation. Trust Hermione to pick up details like that.

It was still not lunchtime and Harry was starving. So, when they reached the Common Room, Hermione still pestering him, Harry started looking for the Weasley twins. They were the people who knew the castle best, they had to know where the kitchen was. He did not want to go to Hogsmeade, he was too tired to slip out of the castle.

He finally found them, crouched in a corner whispering. For once they looked really serious, it was weird to see them like that. He approached slowly, wanting for them to notice him first. He did not want to intrude the seemingly important conversation they were having.

Just before he arrived before them, Fred (or was it George), noticed him. He smiled at him and notified his twin of his arrival. They waved their hand at him conspicuously.

"Hi Feorge, Gred. I wanted to talk to you about that thing..."

He tried not to say anything explicitly since Hermione was still behind him eying him suspiciously. She would never forgive him if she knew he wanted to go to the kitchen, and ask the elves something to eat.

The twins looked at Hermione and seemed to understand immediately. That was why he liked them.

"Oh yeah."

"That thing."

"We were talking at home."

"Follow us, it's in our dorm."

Okay, that was cool. Is that something only twins can do, or did they practice it?

"Sorry Hermione, no girls allowed in our dorm." One of them said when Hermione wanted to follow them to their dorms.

"Yeah sorry, the guys are really uncomfortable with that."

"Plus, it's all messy, you won't even like it."

With that, the three Gryffindor boys went into the dorm.

"So, what's so important for the Mighty Harry Potter to separate from his super smart sidekick."

"And ask us, lowly peasant, for help."

"This Dark Lord need the access to the place where he can sustain himself. Dark Arts and snakes take a lot, even for me." He found it very funny, so why not play along.

They looked at him for a second and they all burst out laughing. After calming themselves, the twins as usual placed one hand each on his shoulder.

"Look here Harry, there's a stair going down near the Great Hall. Take it, turn left, and look for a painting of a big silver fruit bowl." said one of the twins

"That's the entrance, to open it you need to tickle the pear." Said the other.

Harry looked at both of them, waiting for one to crack and laugh. But it did not happen. Well, they were smiling, but they always were. And from what he knew about them they were totally serious. Plus, in a place like Hogwarts, the strangest things was not to have a kitchen entrance in a painting you had to tickle after all.

"You're messing with me, aren't you?" He trusted them, but he was never really sure with them.

"If you don't trust us, look at the map." They said in unison as they escorted him to the door." Now if you don't mind, we have a business talk to finish."

Just like that he found himself out of the dorm. He did not waste a second, and headed to his dorm to get get Ron to come with him The map was already in his pocket since he came back from the Chamber.

"Ah you're here! Hermione was worrying about you disappearing all of a sudden." Ron was on his bed organizing his stuff. "Where were you by the way?"

"I was trying to build up my physical condition by running." He answered. "But I overextended myself and ended at the infirmary."

"And you're okay right?"

Harry nodded and asked Ron if he wanted to come to the kitchen.

"How do you know where they are?" His eyes were shining as if Christmas came earlier.

He explained how the twins told him.

"You sure they're not pranking you? Because you know, that's kind of what they do…"

"And that's why I have that." He brandished the map before him.

They looked at each other and smiled.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

"Mate, I don't know if you have the best luck ever or just the worst." Ron said with a chocolate cake halfway into his mouth.

They just came back from the kitchen, they unexpectedly met Dobby and another house-elf. The one who was fired by Mr. Crouch at the World Cup, she was called Winky. They talked for a while, well with Dobby. It seemed that the other elf was drunk on Butterbeer. Dobby told them she was extremely sad about being fired. For his part, Dobby was hired as an employee in Hogwarts. Dumbledore gave him holidays and a salary. Harry congratulated him from the bottom of his heart, he knew Dobby wanted a paid job for a long time, it was his dream. Now that was the good luck of the day.

The bad luck was to bump into Hermione, just one minute after going out of the kitchen. She saw the leftovers they got from the house-elves and eyed them darkly. She then managed to make them say where the kitchen were and ran towards its direction.

"Totally mental this one." Ron said to him. "I've been friend with her for three years, but I can't manage to understand her fully."

They both laughed at that. They still had an hour before lunch, so they went in their dorm to play some chess.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

At the same time, in a different place, two figures were standing straight around a huge fire. The fumes were totally black. If anyone else that those two figures was here, he would have a difficult time breathing because of that black fume. It smelled like a mix between burned chair and rubber, a foul smell.

"Now that First is gone, IT is bare..." One of the two hooded figure said.

They both sighed as they stoked the fire.

"We are getting closer to that time…" The other finally said, in a calm voice. "Second, I hope you won't disregard First wish. She was the wisest of us."

"I know what I must do Third."

They kept silence for a long time, so much time that the fire went out, leaving only remains of what was used as combustible. If one looked closely, he could see a skull, a human skull. Below that skull were bones that formed an entire human body.

"Farewell First." Second and Third said in one voice.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

It was lunch time. Having already ate in the kitchen, Harry merely took some pumpkin juice and started sipping it slowly. Ron for his part did not look like he just had an entire meal in the kitchen. He was as usual engulfing everything he could put his hands on. Hermione was eating while furiously turning the page of the book she had in her left hand.

All of a sudden, a letter was dropped in front of Harry. That was weird, there was no one who would write him. He looked above his head to see the owl that was used, but it seemed that it was not one he knew, but he could not recognize it. It was a big brown owl, it looked majestic, nothing like his princess Hedwig. By the way he had not seen her for some times now, she must be sulking because he did not send any letter.

Talking of letter, he picked up his. The scent was familiar, it smelled like lavender and gooseberry.

Looks like it's from Astoria. I should not have left like that this morning. I have to apologize.

He discreetly turned his head towards Slytherin table, looking for Astoria. When he finally saw her, he smiled and nodded his head.

Weird, why is she gaping like that? Why is she looking at me and then her sister? Wait, don't tell me?

Harry hurried to open his letter, not bothering with the questioning looks Hermione was sending him.

Harry,

Astoria has been worried about you since we last saw you in the infirmary. So, to put her at ease, I am doing my duty as her big sister, and asking you myself if you are okay. Knowing a little about you, I know your answer will always be something along the line of "Fine". So, I decided that me and Astoria should check on you by ourselves.

Meet us after lunch near the lake, we know a spot out of sight.

See you soon,

D.G.

Harry was too stunned to speak. He folded the letter quietly and put it in his pocket. He tried to catch the eye of the sender, but she was acting like nothing was going on. All of a sudden, Harry remembered something. The snake. It was still in his sleeve. He did not even feel it, if his eye did not catch it on his arm, he would have completely forgotten about it.

Okay calm down Harry. It did not harm you. First thing first is to convince those sisters that I'm okay. Then I can start worrying about how in the world can a snake be on me.

His mind set, Harry decided to go out first. He said to his friends that he needed to see someone and stood up. Hermione looked at him, and then at the Slytherin table, she must have discovered it. She eve came with them in the infirmary this morning. It was alright, Harry didn't like to hide things from his friends. Ron for his part looked to engrossed wit his food to notice anything.

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

Unbeknownst to everyone, in a place out of the reach from anyone, a figure was floating in the vastness of the universe. Habitually if someone was able to see him, he could not decipher the figure's emotion. However lately the figure was seen smiling a lot.

And today was not an exception, the only difference was that today was not just a smile. The figure was laughing like a degenerate. There is no air to vibrate in space, but something wavered all through the universe at that figure's laugh.

"I can feel it." Chaos said. "Freedom, and revenge."

ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNND that's it for today. I hope you all liked it. As I said before, the story will start to go a lil faster from now on. I first wanted this one to continue until Harry meeting Astoria and Daphne, but I thought it will break the rhythm, so I let it that way.

On another note, guys I ve seen the story had been read a lot (from my pov at least lmao), but no Reviews came :/ I was a little sad because reviews really helps me, it's different from numbers I see on a graphic. Constructive reviews are really helping me keeping going on with that story, so don't hesitate even if it's just something like "good chap" im okay with it.

So now that crying over that is over,

See you next weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

AND DON'T FORGET TO REVIEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
