It was about 2 ½ hours before Jennifer stopped her tears. She felt really good. Finally, she'd released what she'd been holding onto inside for months.

"You're doing great," Bella told her, "I know this is hard for you. Do you feel any better."

"For now," Jennifer said, "But this is so hard. I don't know how I'm going to deal with the nightmares… and the pain-"

"Physical pain or emotional pain?"

Jennifer put up a hand.

"The physical pain is gone. I'll always have the scars but that's not the hard part. The nightmares are pretty hard. I'm afraid to go to sleep. I'm ******* afraid to close my eyes."

"Have you shared that with your parents?" Bella asked her.

Jennifer sighed.

"They've been through so much already," she said.

Bella gently put her hand on top of Jennifer's.

"Come on," she said, "Let's talk to them together."

Trudy woke up in a lot of pain from her leg. She couldn't even move it, it hurt that badly. Adrian heard her crying and sat up in bed.

"It's raining," he said, "That's probably why your leg is hurting so bad. I'll get you a pain pill."

"Thank you, Adrian," Trudy said, "I'm sorry if I woke you."

"Hey," he said wiping her tears away, "Waking up to you is what I dreamed about for ten years and three months. There is NOTHING with the possible exception of nothing that I wouldn't do for you. I love you. You are the air in my lungs."

Trudy smiled.

"I love you," she told him.

"I love you too," Adrian said.

He hopped out of bed and got her the pain pill. He brought it to her with a slice of pizza and a glass of milk.

"Thank you," she said.

He kissed her forehead. Then he rubbed her shoulders. After a few minutes the pain subsided.

"I feel better," Trudy said.

She paused.

"I haven't been much fun to be with lately have I," she asked.

"First off," Adrian said, "You have a broken leg. Secondly, you're plenty of fun to be with. Just being with you is the best gift GOD has ever given me."

Trudy kissed him gently and he returned the kiss with his own kiss.

Leland and Karen sat in Bella's office, shocked to hear about what Jennifer had been going through.

"Do you have nightmares every night?" Leland asked

"If I'm able to fall asleep I have nightmares," Jennifer replied.

"Why didn't you tell us," Karen asked.

"It's not fair for me to tell you about my problems," Jennifer said, "They're so small in comparison to what happened to you guys… with mom's cancer-"

"That's gone," Leland said gently.

"Caroline is just 2 ½ months old. She needs your attention. How is it fair for me to take that from her?"

"Jenn," Karen said compelling her to look into her eyes, "When Jared was born, did we love you any less?"

"Of course not," Jennifer said, "And when Max was born you didn't love Jared and I any less than you loved Max and when Caroline was-"

"We were able to pay attention to and take care of you and Jared was he was born and then Max and Caroline when they were born. Parents can do that."

"I'm sorry," Jennifer said tears filling her eyes.

"You didn't do anything wrong," Karen and Leland said in unison.

"Are you going to send me to… the crazy place," Jennifer asked.

"First of all, it's not a crazy place," Leland replied, "Second, of course not. You belong home, with your family. We love you. You're everything to us."

"We are going to get professional help to come to us," Karen said.

"I love that idea," Leland commented.

"I also think that Jennifer needs to be in a social environment like Learning Through Living when she's ready to start school again."

"Can Jared and Max come too," Jennifer asked, "I'll pay for them."

"Of course," Leland said, "But we'll pay for them. Trust me. We can afford it easily."

Jennifer hugged her parents.

Time passed slowly. Finally it was time for Trudy to get her new X-ray and get the cast off. She was so excited.

"What's taking so long," Adrian asked.

"Honey," Trudy said, "It's only been a few minutes since I had the X-ray. I'm sure everything is fine."

The doctor came in. She was not smiling.

"I'm afraid your leg is still broken," she said, "We're going to have to operate."

"Is it a dangerous operation?"

"Not at all," the doctor said, "We'll put her to sleep, then go in and fix the bone that broke. She'll stay in the hospital overnight so we can monitor her."

"We want to stay with her," Dwight said.

"That's fine," the doctor replied, "The operation should take about 45 minutes to an hour."

"When are you going to operate," Trudy asked.

"We'll do it now," the doctor said.

They took Trudy into the operating room and performed the operation. She came out and let them know Trudy was in recovery.

"No complications," the doctor said, "But I'm prescribing her a months worth of pain pills which she'll take as per needed."
