Razor walked back into the building with his backpack full again noticing the Togepi playing with a few other small ones. He walked over to Azure setting the bag down to rest his shoulders before gesturing to the group. Having joined the normal/fairy type were a Cubone, Goomy, and Pichu. He was told there were a few trainers that mentioned heading somewhere for a couple days. The Sneasel nodded and headed over to them and found Melinda keeping an eye on them. She just smiled seeing the Pichu kick a ball to the others, who then joined in turning it into a small 2v2 game while Melinda kept score when a team got it through the goal made of two plush toys on either side of the room.
"So, what's the score so far?" Razor asked with a chuckle standing by her.
"Tied at 1-1," she replied with one in return, "They're doing their best though, bless them."
They just continued to watch until the Cubone fell over with a faint thud when the ball hit it causing the Medicham to head over and sit it on her lap. "Are you hurting anywhere, little one?"
The Cubone rubbed at a knee, but seemed unphased otherwise. "Not really, my knee just stings a bit." she replied.
Melinda gave the knee a quick lookover. "Yeah, not scraped or anything. You should be just fine in a few minutes."
The Cubone nodded. "Yeah."
The Pichu slowly made its way over with its ears drooping a bit. "S-Sorry about that..." he apologized, "I didn't mean to kick it that hard."
The Cubone tapped at the headwear a couple times. "Haha. Don't worry about it. This skull absorbed most of that hit."
The Pichu idly kicked at the ground. "S-Still. I didn't mean to hurt you at all."
"She'll be okay!" the Goomy chirped slithering over, "As Auntie said, there's no scrape."
Melinda looked a bit surprised. "A-Auntie?"
Razor looked at her. "Do...you not like it?" He then looked to the trio, mostly the Goomy. "I think she needed to be asked first, kiddo."
Melinda then got a bit smile and hugged the four. "No no, Razor. I actually quite liked it. They can call me that if they want."
Razor laughed a bit crossing his arms with a smile. "Well, guess you're Auntie Melinda then."
"I will wear that name with pride."
"You make it sound like a medal of honor."
"Well, it is to me!"
Razor shrugged. "Didn't say you can't." He then sat on his knees looking at the little ones. "So, anyone feeling up to resuming your game?"
The Togepi yawned some. "I'm tired..." she said nearly dozing off. The other three yawned as well.
Melinda nodded. "Sounds like it's naptime then." She stood up and motioned to follow. "Come along, I'll get the blankets out."
Razor just smiled as they followed her into another room as he heard the bell at the door ring.
Azure was looking over the news for the day mentioning a new trainer that's blazing through the league being a few badges away from attempting the Elite 4. Just as he got to the next article, the bell rung. He looked to the visitor and saw it was an Ace Trainer. He quickly ran up looking a bit concerned.
"Welcome, what brings you by?" Azure asked getting up.
"You're the one that found a Togepi, right?" the Ace questioned.
Azure nodded. "Yeah, my friend brought one in the other day. It was alone and scared by what he told me."
"Is it still here?"
"Yeah, probably asleep since it's naptime right now." He came from around the counter then puts a hand on his shoulder. "You seem in a panic. What's the matter? If you don't mind saying, if not then don't feel like you should."
The Ace Trainer sighed. "I somehow lost one that belonged to my...friend." Hesitation seemed to hang with the last word. "It means a lot to me and..."
"We can take a quick look. Long as we're quiet, they won't even notice we're there."
The two stepped into the playroom where Melinda was reading to herself while the small four were in blankets softly snoring. They went over to the Togepi and the Ace Trainer looked it over before shaking his head. Azure silently sighed as they left until they were back in the lobby of sorts.
"Sorry that it wasn't the one you were looking for." he apologized scratching his head.
"It's alright, I appreciate you trying to help regardless." the other replied crossing his arms and head hanging some.
"Why not keep in contact for a bit? Still a chance it could end up here. Any particular way you can recognize it?"
He sighed. "It wears a necklace with a heart pendant and inside it is a pocture of me and the friend alongside the Togepi itself."
Azure nodded. "Gotcha. Let's register each other in our navs."
Razor had decided to head to town for a bit, both just to stretch his legs a bit more as well as to see if he can find anything the place might need. He waved or nodded to various people and pokémon as he passed. He walked towards an upcoming alley when he saw a couple of people walk out of it with the man dusting his hands off. He acted like he was minding his own business focusing on his hearing.
"Good riddance I say." the man huffed.
"And to think it was helping our child with good luck," added the woman, "Didn't take long for something to go wrong."
Razor looked back at them with a grimace before looking into the alley hearing a sob. It slowly got louder until he found the source, a Riolu having been carelessly thrown near the dumpster looking too hurt to move despite trying to get up.
"H-Hey. Try not to move," he instructed kneeling next to it, "You need to go see Nurse Joy, like, now."
The Riolu grunted looking at him in the corner of an eye. "I-I-I can manage... Don't...worry about me..." She panted holding itself on the wall standing while its legs shook.
"No. I'm not leaving you like this." He then put one of her arms around his neck begore walking with it. "Fuss later. Save your energy."
"Why...are you doing this...for me? A random...pokémon?"
"Well, my trainer raised me like this. He'd do the same thing if he saw you."
The Riolu finched some.
"If I said something wrong, I'm sorry, but I'm wanting to help. After the nurse helps you, I'll leave you alone and we can go our separate ways." He gave a glance from the corner of his eye. "Alternatively, my trainer would care for you until someone wants to take you on their journey with them."
She flinched again, this time from the pain.
Razor then just looked forward again. "Almost there."
After dropping the Riolu off, he sat at a table to wait. He considered reoffering to come with him to the nursery, but she seemed stubborn so he's not entirely sure that will be accepted. Another thought popped up soon after, what if she does go off somewhere else? Will she be okay? Maybe a visit to the nursery can help. Soon the Riolu emerged from the room in the back and looked at him.
"Alright," she started, "I got healed."
"Yeah," he responded leaving the table, "I know I said I'd leave you alone after, but I wanted to ask if you want to come with me. I promise my trainer-"
The Riolu winced this time. "Please. Stop saying that."
Razor rubbed the back of his head. "Right, sorry." He then looked back to the other. "Anyway, he would gladly take you in and care for you. Regardless if you stay or want to get picked up...to go on a journey."
"I'll...think about it."
He began to think with a claw to his chin. "Still need a place to stay."
"I can sleep outside. It doesn't bother me.'
"Right, well..." He readjusted the backpack he had. "I can show you where it is at least. That way if you decide to you know where it is."
The Riolu nods a bit. "Sure, I guess."
As the sun began to set, Razor and the Riolu arrived with the Zoroark standing outside getting ready for her patrol. Upon entering, they saw Azure busy with the trainers having came back for their pokémon. Once they left, he held the Togepi and kneeled to the two. The Sneasel introduced the new arrival, who nodded some. He laughed some petting her head. His smile faded some noticing she seemed almost scared. Retracting his hand, he looked back to his pokémon. Razor then whispered to him about that she seemed shaky about trainers and that even the word hits her the wrong way. He nodded then just put a hand out for her to take with the offer Razor gave her.
The Riolu looked at him then the Sneasel then back to him. A paw was hesitantly reached out, but then was pulled back. The nursery man just nodded in understanding before telling her to think it over. She at least agreed to that before heading back outside. A small tree looked fine enough, so she headed over and lied under it with her back against it. It didn't take long before she fell asleep.
