It was several days later when Marsha got a phone call from her church pastor.
"Pastor Gray," she said, "It's nice to hear from you. Is everything alright?"
"Everything is wonderful," Pastor Gray said, "I was wondering if you could be the next guest speaker at our faith event."
"Absolutely," Marsha said, "What do you want me to talk about?"
"Well, is there anything special that happened to you in the past few months," Pastor Gray asked.
"GOD yes," Marsha said, "Almost four months ago to the day Dwight and I found out that Trudy survived the car bombing."
"Would you be willing to talk about that," Pastor Gray asked, "and what?"
"Willing? It's my favorite topic. Oh, and Trudy and Adrian are getting married again. Dwight and I have a new adopted granddaughter. Her name is Hope Julia."
"Congratulations," Pastor Gray said, "The Lord giveth, The Lord Taketh Away and the Lord giveth back again."
"Mind if I quote you on that," Marsha asked.
"Go ahead," Pastor Gray replied, "You know you've always been an inspiration to me. You're such a positive person."
"Well, when you find out that your 'dead' daughter is alive when you thought for ten years, she was dead it's easy to be positive," Marsha laughed.
"Yes, but even before any of that happened. You never got mad. You never gave into peer pressure. Everyone would say the same thing and of course they were wrong, but you would ignore it."
"When is the event," Marsha asked.
"10:30 tomorrow morning," Pastor Gray replied, "How old is the baby?"
"She'll be a week-old tomorrow," Marsha said, "She is absolutely gorgeous."
"Bring pictures," Pastor Gray asked.
"I will," Marsha promised.
"Great. I'll see you tomorrow," Pastor Gray said.
When Marsha got to Trudy and Adrian's house the first thing she heard was Hope cooing. She sent a text to Trudy that she was there. Trudy went to open the door.
"Hey mom," she said smiling even though she looked exhausted.
"Hope keep you up late?" Marsha asked.
"No," Trudy said, "I just couldn't sleep last night. Adrian took care of the baby while I took a nap a little while ago."
Adrian came out with Hope asleep in his arms.
"So," Marsha said, "I'm the guest speaker at the next faith event tomorrow at 10:30 AM."
"Cool," Trudy exclaimed.
She laughed.
"Let me guess what you're gonna talk about," she added.
Marsha shared the laugh and nodded.
"Just remember," Trudy said gently, "Not everyone is as blessed as we are so, please, be gentle."
