The Western Tale
Ch.3: This Here Story
AJ smiled as the coach came to a stop. She had not seen her parents in roughly two years, so she was happy to see them again! The door to the store, opened, a yellow colored girl stepping out and walking up to the coach.
"Names Bon-Bon" she smiled. "Your parents had to head to Red River. Your dad fell and hurt his foot."
AJ frowned but accepted this for the moment, unlocking the door. She turned back to Twilight and I. "Mind helping this girl with the horses?"
We accepted, with Twilight following me out of the coach. AJ led Sunset inside.
Limestone jumped off of her seat, her boots gracefully hitting the snow.
"Been a while since I've been here, Miss Bon-Bon. How long have you been working here?"
"A while" she smiled, greeting the horses. The Clydesdales accepted her head and fur pats. "AJ is taking Sunset to hang?" she asked as Twilight and I unbounded the Clydesdales.
"Yes. Heard about her story?"
Bon Bon nodded, taking one of the horses and beginning to lead him to the stable. "Terrible! Poor woman" she sighed.
The two got lost in conversation as Twilight led two horses and I led one, a mare named Spotlight. Limestone of course was leading the other two.
"Easy there, girl" I said softly to the horse. She nodded at me, Twilight surprising me at how gentle she was. She would explain that as a child, she had taken horse riding lessons, but had not rode a horse in a while.
"Never took to it" she explained.
"Got a guy?" Limestone asked Bon Bon ahead of us. Bon Bon chuckled.
"Nah., I have seen a girl in the past, but I have not seen her in a while. You?"
Limestone smiled. "I've been married for eleven years now to a great guy. His names Mud Brier. Heh, me, and my sister Maud fought for him for a couple years. But she accepted when he decided his future."
Soon enough, we had the horses in the stable. Twilight and I got to work on leading them to their shelter as Bon-Bon got their food.
"The place has Electricity" Bon Bon explained. "A bathroom too. AJ's parents got it done a few years back I heard. Chili is cooking too, should be done soon."
"Will wonders never cease?" I smiled, laughing as Spotlight licked my face. "Even here in 1877."
The conversation ceased once more, as it was noticed that the wind was picking up.
Inside, AJ and Sunset were meeting the rest of the guests. Two in fact.
As we all believed at the time.
