Chapter 2: Wedding Day

AN : Yes, it is finally here! It was a bit difficult to write this chapter because I had a lot of homework and I lacked inspiration. But I finally made it and I really loved writing it.

Everyone was gathering outside Queen Mansion on a beautiful sunny day. The ceremony was fast approaching and there was still some work to do before the it could begin and some of the guests were a bit late. A big red tent has been raised up in the garden with a lot of chairs underneath. There were tables here and there with glasses, bottles containing different beverages and toasts. In short, everything was perfectly set for an exceptionally beautiful wedding.

Harry, Cisco and Winn had made holographic signs that read "Team Legends and Team Arrow on the right side" and "Team Flash and Team Supergirl on the left side"

Once everyone was here and seated (with Kate and Earth-X Snart on the right side, and Ryan, Jefferson and Ray Terrill on the left) and Rene was standing at the altar, Barry made his entrance at super speed and stopped on Rene's right side and all the guests were laughing and applauding at the theatrical entrance.
A few minutes later, music started playing and Kara and started singing as Quentin appeared with Sara on his arm at the end of the aisle.

As soon as Barry saw Sara in her wedding dress, everything around him froze into place as he entered Flashtime without realizing it. Maybe because a part of him never wanted this moment to end. Saying she was incredibly beautiful would be an understatement! She was looking like a goddess of beauty! He could barely remember the vows he prepared. Even Iris hadn't made him feel that way! When he realized all was quiet and nobody was moving, he slowed down so the ceremony could continue at a normal pace.
When Sara saw how handsome Barry looked while waiting for her at the altar, she felt incredibly lucky and happy that she was about to become his wife. And if there was even any doubt inside her mind, it all disappeared when she saw the look in his eyes. Neither Oliver nor Nyssa or even Ava had ever looked at her like that and she was glad for it.

When Quentin left his daughter at the altar, she immediately took her soulmate's hands in hers, and he patted his very-soon-to-be son-in-law on the shoulder whispering:
"I wish Henry and Nora were here!"
"Thank you, but I feel like they are here!" answered Barry.
Quentin nodded and went to sit next to his ex-wife.

Rene then started the ceremony:
"Everyone, please be seated. We're reunited here today to celebrate the wedding of Barry Allen and Sara Lance! I am not the one who knows them the most, but I can feel that they will be together forever. I can also see it in their eyes right now! They really want to be together forever, and after everything they've been through, they deserve a happy life with each other.
Even though I don't think this is necessary, I have to ask it. If anyone here is absolutely certain that these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace!"
Ten seconds of silence.

"That's what I thought. Now, time for you to make vows. Sara, you want to go first?"
"Yes, thank you! When I hold the Spear of Destiny, it showed me the life that was my heart's deepest desire. And I remember the two biggest desires of my heart. First, Laurel was alive and happy as Black Canary and district attorney. Secondly and most importantly, I was really happy with you. Barry Allen. I knew I had to give up on that perfect reality, even though my heart was screaming in pain at the idea. But, ever since that moment, I know you are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. And I am forever grateful that my two deepest desires have finally come true, though there was an unthinkable cost for that. Anyway, I am incredibly happy to become your wife!" she said with small tears in her eyes.
"That was really beautiful, Sara! Now, Barry?"
"Yes, it was very beautiful, babe! So, in the video where Thawne admitted that he killed my mom, he said that having my dad out of prison wouldn't matter because I would never truly be happy, and he knew that because he knew me. But it was in a universe where I was destined to marry Iris. So he may have been right in a way because Iris is not the love of my life. You are. And I know that I can and I will truly be happy with you as my wife! And I am also incredibly lucky to become your husband!" Now Sara had big tears in her eyes but she hold them back.

"Once more, that was really beautiful! Now, the rings"
Felicity stood up and brought the rings to the couple. They both took the ring for they would put on the other's finger and Felicity went back to her seat.
"Bartholomew Henry Allen, do you take Sara Lance here as your wife to cherish and to love, in sickness and in health, until your last breath?"
"I do! But not even death will ever come between us!" Barry answered as he slid the ring on Sara's finger.

"Well, if you say so. Now, Sara Lance, do you take Bartholomew Henry Allen here as your husband to cherish and to love, in sickness and in health, until your last breath?"
"Of course I do! And I agree with him since I've experienced death myself a couple times, so I know that it won't stand between us!" Sara answered as she slid the ring on Barry's finger

"I think we can all see that your love will be endless. So, by the powers that were given to me as mayor of Star City, I now pronounce you, Sara Lance and Bartholomew Henry Allen, husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!"

They leant in and as soon as their lips met, Barry entered Flashtime again. Sara felt it but said nothing because she knew that he did this because he wants this moment to last forever, and she wants it too. So, they just kept kissing for what felt like at least 15 minutes when it was just a fraction of a second in reality.
When Barry slowed down out of Flashtime, they heard thunderous applause. They reluctantly broke their kiss and turned to face their guests as Rene concluded the ceremony:
"Let me introduce you to Barry and Sara Lance-Allen!"

The newly married couple walked up the aisle with all their guests led by Cisco, Laurel, Ray and Caitlin (groomsmen and bridesmaids) following them.

Everybody enjoyed the post-wedding party. They did a lot of games and a big karaoke, so everyone could sing at least one song.
And after several hours, the newly married couple said their goodbyes and retired at super speed for their long-awaited wedding night.

AN : They are finally married! I will take a little break from this story as I want to write about another fandom before the end of the year. This story will continue in 2023! So, for now, feel free to leave me a review to let me know what you think of this chapter!
