An Unexpected Ally

Starscream sat opposite of the Prime, his hands cuffed to each other firmly as he looked at the Autobot leader who looked like he had no patience for him at all.

"Is this how you Autobots normally treat your guests, Prime?" Starscream sarcastically smiles at him.

"What is it that you want, Starscream," Optimus says, glaring down at the Second-in-Command of the Decepticon faction.

The Autobots surrounded the seeker as well as the humans with their weapons drawn out, pointed at him while the Autobots stood on edge. Charlotte Mearing stood in one of the catwalks, looking down in awe at the Decepticon.

Starscream pressed his digits together, a cruel smile on his faceplates. "Why, I wish to side with the winning side," He all but purred, his wings fluttering behind him, "I know the whereabouts of the Allspark."

"Impossible," Dino laughed. "The Allspark was destroyed years ago." He confidently challenged Starscream who simply smirked.

"But I am sure that you are all aware of the fact that it inhabits a human femme now. Otherwise, you wouldn't be insistent on getting your servos on the femme." The words were barely out of his lips when the Prime placed a sword against the cables of his neck.

He didn't see his servo transform, nor did he expect Optimus to swiftly walk towards him that fast. Starscream craned his neck backwards but Optimus pressed the blade firmly against his neck.

"Speak of the truth and you shall keep your helm. I will only ask once." Optimus all but growled, engine revving as his neon blue eyes darkened to an azure color. "Where. Is. Persephone?"

Starscream gulped, before smiling nervously. "I want a fair trade, first." He announced. "In exchange for giving you information, I request that I join the Autobot faction."

"And why should we trust a traitorous mech such as you," Optimus bellowed, snarling at him.

"Because I'm your only lead to Persephone," Starscream confidently boasted.

The Prime flickered his gaze away from the seeker, thinking about his words. If he was telling the truth, then it would be much better so he can reach Persephone sooner. Optimus was no longer above killing a cybertronian. If Starscream proved to be useless, he would be beheaded.

"Deal." Optimus's voice echoed menacingly. "But if I detect you lying, I will not hesitate to take your helm, am I clear."

The seeker gulped, nodded his head.

"Where is she?" The Prime asked. "Where is my sparkmate?"

"If I am honest, I don't know." The Prime growled as a warning, lips pulled back in a snarl as anger bursts from him. "But," the seeker added in a whimper, "I am waiting for Megatron's signal. Once he deems the area safe, I can give you the coordinates to their location."

"That will take time!" He snarled.

"Patience is key to this, Optimus Prime," Starscream reminded.

"Do not patronize me." Optimus growled. "Or have you forgotten who I am."

Mikaela leans over the edge. "You can trust him!" She yelled, catching the attention of everyone in the room. "Optimus, I promise you, you can trust him."

"And why should I?"

"He helped Persephone relay the message to the Autobots. He knew I have her cellphone!"

The Prime turned to Starscream, the suspicious look in his optics never leaving. "Is this true, seeker?"

"Yes!" Starscream desperately said. Then he remembered what he was to Persephone. "As ridiculous as it sounds, I am her friend."

Leon stepped forward, crossing his arms. "Why are you doing this?" He asked. "Why go on and stick your head out for Persephone?"

Murmurs erupted amongst the people in the room, nodding and shrugging at each other as they glanced at the seeker. Starscream sighed, laughing softly.

"At first I thought she had been doing it to climb up for power, but really all the little femme wanted was to befriend me," Starscream says, his optics growing soft. "I suppose she succeeded. So, as her friend, I want to get her out of this… predicament she is in."

"And how do you plan to do that?" Charlotte Mearing's voice echoed as she stood beside Mikaela in the catwalk. "How do you plan to be of help to us?"

"We make a plan," Starscream reasoned. "A plan that would make the Autobots look like the heroes in Persephone's optics."

"That would be impossible," The Prime's shoulders sank depressingly, "She has already been brainwashed into thinking we are the enemy."

"Which is why we need to change that."

"How?"

"We kill Megatron using the humans," Starscream said.

This caused an uproar amongst the soldiers. "And how do you expect us to do that without killing our men, huh?" Epps spat at Starscream from the ground.

"Not you!" Starscream sneered. "The other set of humans that you," he points to Mearing, "have commanded."

"You mean, Cemetery Wind?" Mearing asked cautiously. "How do you know about that? That is confidential information!" She said, her face turning pale.

"Exactly, femme." He nodded his head. "Tho, don't be surprised. Your primitive technology is very easy to hack into. I've seen their weapons and how they are effective in capturing cybertronians. If used properly, they can easily kill one." Starscream added, "Let me teach you where to aim your weapons on Megatronous."

"Why are you so hell-bent on killing him?" Mearing questioned.

"What's that human saying again?" Starscream mused. "Ah, yes! I have a bone to pick with him." He turns to Optimus. "The plan can be simple. The humans walk in and behead Megatron, then let Persephone run away and you, the Autobots, pretend like you're rescuing her from the humans."

"You want us to manipulate my sister?!" Leon snarled, banging his fist on the table. "Fuck no!"

"Sister?" Starscream raised an optic brow ridge, before paying him no mind. "Think about it, Optimus. If it is properly executed, Megatron would be gone, Persephone would be safe and she'll be all yours. Besides, she's already suspicious of Cemetery Wind, already."

"Optimus, you can't possibly agree to this," Leon reasoned out.

But the look of desperation in Prime's optics said that he had made a decision. It sickened Leon, making him cringe at the realization. He turned and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him on his way out.

Optimus turned to Starscream, unlocking the cuffs to set him free. "Jazz, you and Starscream will help me come up with a plan that won't backfire on us."

The last thing he needed was his sparkmate to hate him.
