The skies of Gensokyo are clear. Barely any signs of clouds and the sun shines brightly while a few fairies fly by as well as a magician and a fairy on a broom.
.
Sokolov: Why are we flying so fast?!
.
Sokolov is holding on to Marisa tightly.
.
Marisa: Oh come on. It isn't so bad. Besides, the sooner we make it, the more time we have to toy around with your obsidian.
.
Sokolov: Toy around? You sure are..interesting.
.
Marisa: I'm not just interesting. I'm ordinary!
.
Sokolov: I see. So where are we going?
.
Marisa: To my hou-I mean my super magical laboratory.
.
Sokolov: Woah. That sounds kinda neat.
.
Marisa: Indeed. Now hold on tight!
.
The magician sped up, causing the fairy to hold on even tighter. Eventually, the duo made it to a house in the middle of a forest.
.
Sokolov: Woah! is this the forest?
.
Marisa: Yep! The good ol' Forest of Magic. It's damp. It's dark but it sure is nice.
.
Sokolov: I don't particularly like it here. Looks kinda spooky.
.
Marisa: Ah don't worry, fairy. Most inhabitants are nothing to fear about...most.
.
Sokolov: That barely helps.
.
The duo landed next to the house. It looks like a standard house although looks like it hasn't been touched in years with vegetation growing.
.
Sokolov: Looks like an abandoned structure. Are you sure we're heading to your laboratory?
.
Marisa: What do you mean? This is my super duper laboratory of magic and stuff!
.
Sokolov: It is...?
.
Marisa: Yes. Now, may I have a piece?
.
Sokolov: Uhh, sure. Here you go.
.
The fairy created a piece of obsidian and handed it to Marisa.
.
Marisa: Thanks!
.
The magician rushed to the door, opened it and went inside. Before Sokolov could follow, Marisa closed the door.
.
Sokolov: Wait..
.
Sokolov knocked on the door. A few moments later, Marisa opened it and peeked her head out.
.
Marisa: Oh...you're still here?
.
Sokolov: Yes. I though that I would follow suit. To help you out or something.
.
Marisa: Nope. Only magicians are allowed.
.
Sokolov: What about scientists?
.
Marisa: Meh, that too.
.
Sokolov: So...can you teach me how to be a magician or scientist or both?
.
Marisa: Are you seri-I mean, of course! Give me one second.
.
The magician closed the door. A few moments later, she came back out with a small piece of paper with stuff on it.
.
Marisa: To start, here's a list of things I need.
.
She handed it to Sokolov.
.
Marisa: First: I need you to send my message to the Hakurei Shine, more specifically, the shrine maiden.
.
Sokolov looked at the list and it said that she has to tell the shrine maiden "Sorry for borrowing your table. Friends?"
.
Sokolov: Ok.
.
Marisa: Next, I want you to go to the SDM, specifically the library to borrow a book.
.
The list for that reads "Beginner's Guide to All Things Related to Rocks".
.
Sokolov: Ok.
.
Marisa: And lastly, I want you to borrow some pizza for me.
.
The list mentions a place called "Rumia's Pizzeria".
.
Sokolov: Ok. You sure do borrow a lot.
.
Marisa: Of course. That's what magicians and scientists do.
.
Sokolov: Really? Well I better start training how to effectively borrow stuff if I want to become one.
.
Marisa: Yep. Okay, byeeee~
.
Marisa closed the door. The fairy studied the list for a moment.
.
Sokolov: I think I first need to go to the Hakurei Shrine.
.
She sees the thick woods beyond and was nervous thanks to the darkness in the forest. Instead, she flew up above the forest to find an ending. She spots a few clearings, one of which has another house and the other has a metallic structure standing tall with flowers decorated and green overgrowth. Eventually, she spots a large clearing that doesn't seem to be surrounded by trees.
.
Sokolov made her trip to get to her first destination. asking anyone along the way. She later found the shrine she was looking for and entered the place. There, she spots a woman, wearing red and white with a red bow on her head, sweeping the leaves off of the path.
.
Sokolov: Uh..hey. Sorry to bother you miss but I'm looking for the Hakurei shrine maiden.
.
The woman turned around and spots the fairy.
.
?: That would be me-woah! You're tall.
.
Sokolov: Yeah. Sorry for startling you miss shrine maiden. I came here to send a message.
.
Shrine Maiden: You did? From who?
.
Sokolov: The Great, Ordinary Magician. Marisa Kirisame.
.
Shrine Maiden: Oh...Let me guess, it's because of the table she stole?
.
Sokolov: Well, it does have something to do with the table. She says that she is sorry for borrowing it. She also asked to be friends again.
.
The shrine maiden rolled her eyes.
.
Shrine Maiden: Riiight. Well, tell her that I forgive her and next time when Sukia pulls that stunt again, don't "move my table for safety" ever again.
.
Sokolov: Ok...I'm not sure I understand any of it.
.
Shrine Maiden: Yeah...you probably shouldn't need to know.
.
Sokolov: Right then. Thanks and goodbye!
.
Shrine Maiden: Yes, goodbye.
.
As the fairy leaves, the shrine maiden turned back around and resumed her chore.
.
Shrine Maiden: Was she a fairy or something? Didn't look like one at first buuut those wings were new.
.
Sokolov: Alright! One down, two more to go.
.
After finding the path to her next task, mainly due to her again asking around, she made her way into a forest. After a while of flying around, she spots a large body of water covered in mist. She walked by until she spots a few fairies. Not wanting to deal with them, Sokolov started to back up.
.
Sokolov: Now I need to find a way past them. Don't really want to interact with anyone right now.
.
?: Why not?
.
Unfortunately for our obsidian fairy, someone was right behind her.
