Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Swordsmen and Thief. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I do not own any rights to Fairy Tale, Hiro Mashima, Kodansha and a few others that I may write about.

Clell blinked and tilted his head to the side.

"I asked what your fear towards your teammates is for." Erza stated before crossing her arms. "I have yet to meet a thief who cares so much about their comrades." Erza added while Clell let out a hum.

"I care about my friends the same way you care about your guild." Clell said while leaning on the wall. "You care about your friends enough to die for them…. Yes?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

Erza was taken aback by the boldness of that question. Clell didn't look like a warrior, not yet. He did have the boldness of one, however.

"I…" Erza said before nodding at the question. Clell walked up to the glass and pressed a hand to it.

"I'm not stupid," Clell said as he let out a sigh. "Nobody trusts a thief to care. I know you; the Fairy Tale Guild are one of the best groups around. Erza? I don't care if you don't trust me, those idiots who tried to kill my friends?" Clell asked before he closed his eyes.

"They need to be brought down." Clell stated and shook his head. "After that? I don't care what happens to me. I'll gladly let them lop my head off if by then." Clell said as he turned and walked away from the wall.

"You feel strongly about this, don't you?" Erza asked while Clell nodded and tilted his head to the side once more.

"I do. I'm curious about something, however." Clell stated while scratching at the back of his head. "You're a warrior, right? Fighting armies of soldiers and such all by your own at times?" Clell asked and was greeted by a nod.

"What's it like?" Clell asked while Erza blinked in confusion.

Damn him, this was the second time he caught her off guard. She'd be dead if this was an actual fight.

"Huh?!" Erza shouted in confusion. It took everything Clell had not to explode in laughter at the swordswoman.

"I would have asked that sooner if I'd know it had gotten you all worked up." Clell stated as Erza growled and punched the glass.

Clell watched as Erza's armored fist smashed right the glass. He was glad they couldn't blame it on him. They had already searched him several times.

"Damn you." Erza hissed as Clell shrugged before clearing his throat again.

"What is it like to be a warrior like that?" Clell questioned while pacing back and forth. "I've fought people before, they were horrible people, though. You get to think through every move, right? Parrying each blow, trying to find an opening? I don't enjoy life or death combat unless the other person is a scumbag… But I'm curious how being a warrior is." Clell stated as he paced back and forth.

The statement got a hum and surprise from Erza.

Erza was by no means a bloodthirsty monster, but she did understand combat. Erza had finished enough battles to know how interesting each could be.

"You enjoy fighting?" Erza asked, thoroughly interested now as Clell hummed.

"I enjoy combat that isn't going to leave scars or such. A fight against something trying to kill me who's a threat to people? I'd take that battle if I had to. Life isn't interesting if you don't struggle or have to fight for what you want. You agree?" Clell asked and got a nod before Erza stood up.

"Where are you going?" Clell asked Erza as he folded his hands. Clell was glad they had gone from just chaining him down. He preferred a glass box for a cell.

"To get you sentenced out. You're going to be joining us." Erza stated only to get a raised eyebrow from Clell who couldn't fathom what was going on at all.

It made zero sense at all.

"If your true about reforming?" Erza questioned before walking to the doorway. "You can start by helping us track those assassins down. I'll keep my eye on you… You're be dead the second you step out of line." Erza stated as she departed.

Clell hummed in confusion, this wasn't what he envisioned at all.

"I feel like today is going to make a lot less sense then it should to begin with." Clell stated as he sat down.

It would be a very long wait till he got out.

"Hmm, I wonder what will happen when I do end up getting out of here?" Clell asked himself as he scratched at his chin with interest.

Erza returned only a few minutes later with the guard who looked at Clell.

"Your serious?" The Guard asked Erza as Clell chuckled and looked to the side with amusement.

"This is officially going to be the funniest day of my life." Clell said with a smile.
