Intro: Chapter 27 is pretty much… meh… anyways here are some idiotic scenes to lighten up the mood although it doesn't look creative so please forgive me, I'm not good with humor and stuff hehe…, and this story is kind of slow paced I'm so sorry it's my kind of way like that…

Chapter 28: Chaos? Say no more…
~Yagen and Kiyomitsu~
"I wonder what they are up to." Kiyomitsu conveyed his thoughts to Yagen while walking towards the kitchen with a somewhat grim face on him because of the combination of Touken Danshi in kitchen duty.
Imagining of such things Yagen placed his hand under his chin while the other supporting said arm "Somehow I can imagine-…" speaking of those words he somehow stopped midway because of the things he can barely imagine and decided to stop doing so "I don't think there are any sane ones there" he added.
Kiyomitsu's eye twitched at hearing those words and murmured the words "You are one to speak…" then comes the thought "To be honest I think Shokudaikiri is the only sane one here." But it seems it slipped his mouth.
Hearing this Yagen's aura became different than usual then commented on it that struck Kiyomitsu "I don't think there is any sane people here…" His eyes trailed at Kiyomitsu for a moment then smiled
Kiyomitsu frozen shocked at the comment sighed and continued quietly walked towards the kitchen with Yagen who was right about the latter who has a weird smirk written all over his face.
"This is going to get ugly…" Kiyomitsu sighed "I better prepare myself"
Finally nearing the kitchen Yagen and Kiyomitsu can already hear Hasebe's voice but they cannot get a clear understanding of what he is saying though but there is one thing for sure, something has definitely gone wrong. Coming to that conclusion the two of them hastened their speed and while coming closer to the kitchen they slowly and surely now gets the gist of what he is saying…
And then finally "AHHH! All of you are just making things worse this is not play time this is cooking time! Food for Aichi-sama and his guests! We cannot let him down" yep… something did already happen.
After opening the door Yagen and Kiyomitsu thought something very bad is happening, instead it looks like something they both not have imagined would turn out to be, before their eyes it would look like as if nobody has ever had a skill in cooking nor even tried it, the rice Imanotsurugi and Nikkari cooking were overflowing, Yasusada and Sayo who were cutting the vegetable are completely unusable cause of how it was peeled, while from the looks of it Gokotai who was cleaning the meat and vegetables with Hasebe looks like Imanotsurugi is at any second is about to let all of those fall on the ground, and by the looks of it below there are 5 cubs waiting, waiting for those meat to fall down, to top it all off from the looks of it they haven't even started cooking yet.
"We think you guys could use some help" Kiyomitsu called the attention of the six toudans struggling to cook except for Hasebe.
"Oh, perfect timing, Yagen can you help with the rice?" Hasebe asked.
"I got it" Yagen answered letting a sigh of relief that nothing bad yet has happened as he continued on to where Nikkari and Imanotsurugi is and looking at the two he can understand why this is happening the two don't seem like they are serious at what they are doing as they look too carefree Nikkari looks like he is in deep thought looking outside while Imanotsurugi is playing with the other tiger cubs. The rice doesn't need that much attention, but with this bunch he can definitely feel that the rice will be over cooked or will not be cooked since too much water is sipping out.
"Then Kashuu can you help with the peeling?" Hasebe asked Kiyomitsu without looking while it seriously looks like he is struggling with what he is doing.
Noticing this he looks at each of the group, the group cooking the rice… well it seems, no one really is interested and is playing around hence why Yagen is asked to take care of it, as if they are the hopeless group, then looking at the ones cleaning, they seem like they are fine with Hasebe there, but as for the group that are peeling, yep they need help. "Although I don't like getting dirty but there is nothing I can do." Kiyomitsu half joking and half serious said while heading to Yasusada and Sayo.
Kiyomitsu internally sighed at the chaos in the kitchen, well, it's not like he can blame them, but Yasusada, he should be much better at doing this but it seems he is only getting the hang of harvesting them and not cutting them he thought, then looking at Sayo, he seems to have an ominous aura with that serious look of his and all.
He can't help but sigh now, "Sayo, Yasusada" he called the attention of the two, and it seems the two had snapped out of something and turned towards him "Just relax okay, no hurry, I'm sure Aichi-sama and his guests will appreciate whatever we serve them" getting a knife for him to use he looked at all the condition of the vegetables and panicked immediately adding "As long as it is edible!" He burst out while his hands seems to have moved along cause of his outburst because now the hand with the knife thrusts near Yasusada who was surprised at this sudden action.
Then seemingly as if fate was playing at them, Gokotai was holding a strainer with meat on it and by the time Yasusada stepped back cause of his surprise with Kiyomitsu thrusting a knife to him, he bumped to Gokotai. And alas the meat Gokotai was holding all jumped from the strainer they were placed, but thankfully not all of them since one of them, the one on the top most fell and seeing the waiting predators below Hasebe quickly took action "Oh no you don't!" but the tiger cubs were much faster than he thinks as if they were getting ready for this very moment one of the cubs caught the meat.
And by another twist of fate, Hasebe slipped from where he is standing cause of the water droplets that fell from the strainer, tackling Gokotai at the very moment, Yagen who heard Hasebe scream already knew something was up, and as if everything is in slow motion Yagen quickly saved the strainer with meat and Gokotai, while Hasebe fell face first on the floor.
The Tiger cubs are now running rampant on the floor to try and take a bite on the meat one of them caught, Imanotsurugi who was watching the scene unfold took notice of the rice overflowing, while Nikkari is still dazed, quickly went towards it but as if fate hasn't stopped playing, Imanotsurugi accidentally stepped on one of the tiger cubs, but before he does completely squish one he hastily took a step back but with the cost of him losing his balance tackling Kiyomitsu from behind, Kiyomitsu hits the side of the table and while trying to prevent his upper body from falling on top of it he used his hands to stop the force but then took notice of the knife in his hand, without thinking at the right moment in time cause everything was happening fast with all the chaos, he already fell on top of the desk with his chin hitting the top of the table with some vegetables underneath him hurting him, while the others are pushed by his arms dropping on the floor.
Yasusada quickly took action seeing the chain reaction by trying to catch just one of the cubs and fortunately catching the one with the meat that is running rampant, he went to the other side and tried to catch the cubs, but he didn't know that some vegetables were still rolling on top the table and at a well moment it fell down and made Yasusada slip, he fell atop the vegetables hurting him in the process, guess Kiyomitsu and Yasusada fate are tied together, poor vegetables, though even though it painfully hurts and trying to hold it, he caught two cubs, each one on his hand.
Gokotai got his composure back and decided to help catch one of the cubs, Yagen placed down the strainer while it seems that Hasebe is sulking on the floor, Nikkari still dazed, and Imanotsurugi got back on his feet and helped the hurting Kiyomitsu.
Yagen hastily caught one of the cubs holding onto the cub's neck, Gokotai helped Yasusada got up while holding one of the tiger cubs, and only one is left the one with the meat. And at perfectly good moment yet again, the tiger cub with the meat was running towards Sayo, Sayo with his other hand still holding onto the kitchen knife turned to where the last tiger cub is with an ominous aura looming over him "Revenge…" he said in a low tone in his voice.
Scared stiff, the tiger cub gaped and let the meat on his mouth fall and whimpered, everyone sighed of relief that finally everything has ended except of course for Nikkari and Hasebe. Seeing that everything happened in a chain reaction they do sure wish that everything really has ended, and that it is really alright to move, so before they could make another one, they hastily placed the cubs outside and shut the door to prevent them from coming inside.
Yagen fixed his glasses and sighing once more to figure out "Why is the cubs here anyway?" he looked at Gokotai specifically making Gokotai feel guilty.
Yasusada and Kiyomitsu who were hurt were sitting on the floor hissing at the pain "Although the cubs weren't really the problem…" Yasusada started hinting that there was another problem then stood up from where he was sitting hastily pointing towards Kiyomitsu who was next to him and said "I mean, if Kiyomitsu didn't thrust that knife towards me and not surprising me from the start this wouldn't have happened!" Yasusada made a sound point.
Kiyomitsu stood up "I wasn't even going too if you haven't shown me a horrifying image that we could have served something monstrous to them" he tried his best to retaliate "But I admit it is my fault for thrusting a knife I was overwhelmed." He sighed
Everyone sighed once again "Though I kind of think that if the cubs weren't here, it wouldn't be too much of chaos." Yasusada said.
"I agree" Yagen noted "Since if the cubs weren't in here Yasusada bumping to Gokotai and let a meat fall off wouldn't have caused to much of a problem." He glanced at Gokotai who still seemed guilty "Although still, this wouldn't have started if it wasn't cause of Kashuu."
Yagen sighed once again "Alright let's clean up, I'll call for someone in the training hall who can help since I think they won't be needing to much supervision since it's just basics"
Before moving from his position, he can still see that Hasebe is still sulking on the floor "And please do something about Hasebe." Then turned to Nikkari "Although I don't think anything can help the other one." Turning around from his position he marches towards outside not letting the tiger cubs inside.
~Training Hall~
Shokudaikiri felt a cold chill all of a sudden "Is everything alright Mitsubou?" Tsurumaru asked who noticed the troubled expression on his face.
"I don't know but I feel like… something is kind of bothering me." Shokudaikiri tilted his head, his hand covering his chin, thinking if that cold chill is a sign of a cold or just the wind although a good question is do they even catch colds?
Tsurumaru raised both his shoulders signifying that they should just leave it be "Well, what should we let the others do since I think three or four toudans are enough for now".
"Hmm…" Shokudaikiri ponders what task he should give to and who to give it to "There are too many people now in the kitchen, I'm sure they can han-" Shokudaikiri paused when Yagen caught his attention, who looks like he is coming to them "Ahh… Ha… haha… haaaaahhhh…" Shokudaikiri sighed in defeat "I get it now…" Shokudaikiri closed his eyes and inhaled earning him a big question mark from Tsurumaru.
"Yagen…" Shokudaikiri called while smiling but prepares himself for the worse of what made Yagen come here.
Yagen heard his name was called "Shokudaikiri!" He hurried to their spot "Perfect timing I ne-" but then before he could finish what he was about to say he was interrupted by Shokudaikiri.
Shokudaikiri said "Something happened…" He paused trying to plead to the gods that something did NOT happen in the kitchen "In the kitchen… right?"
Yagen decided to stay silent implying that he understood what his inner thoughts is, screaming inside while turning pale… Shokudaikiri's cold chill was a bad omen he was right and oh how he wished it wasn't true.
Placing one of his hands on his face he sighed once again "Horikawa, Yamanbagiri" Shokudaikiri called the two that surprised Kai, Miwa, and Kamui since his voice was somewhat shaking.
The two toudan called proceeded to where Shokudaikiri is and the expression of Yagen and Shokudaikiri didn't get passed Miwa "The look on their faces screams trouble." He noted.
Looking at the scene unfold before them, the voice and the look on Shokudaikiri makes it looks like it's really serious, examining what is going on they noticed Horikawa and Yamanbagiri nod to what Shokudaikiri was telling them as they proceed to follow Yagen.
When they are steps away from the training hall "Horikawa, I leave everything to you." Shokudaikiri said in a serious tone leaving Miwa more intrigued to what has happened.
Horikawa nodding in a serious and determined manner made it seem more like trouble "Leave it to me!"
"This is bad, I think something bad did happen." Miwa whispered who seemed bothered by what has happened and stopped for a moment from his training.
"Hey! Focus." Midare shouted to Miwa who flinched in response and continued his training.
~Archery Group~
Mina noticed Yagen, Horikawa, and Yamanbagiri left the training hall in a hurry "I wonder why they are in a hurry" thinking that something might have gone wrong but she shakes the thought since can't quite understand what it was because there was something in her mind.
"What do you mean?" hearing Mina's comment Aichi paused for a moment before he releases the bow, and turned to the direction where Mina was looking at and saw the three hurrying somewhere "Hm?" he lets out since he also cannot think of anything what could be the caus.
Misaki who didn't kind of somewhat cared didn't even bat an eye and continued to what she was tasked to do, while Aichi and Mina continued to talk to each other while the other still focused on her training.
"Oh yeah Aichi, I can't wait for your abilities to grow!" Mina chimed her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"I hope so too…" Aichi was happy and thinking of the same but deep inside he was torn apart.
"I was thinking of teaching you how to make Shikigami troops!" Mina enthusiastically spoke of what seems to be his next training.
"Shikigami Troops?" Aichi tilted his head a little in question of said new training.
"Ahem. You see Aichi, in battle sometimes the enemy will bring Shadow Troops." Mina started to explain "Shadow Troops and Shikigami Troops have the same uses and outcomes, such as Archer, Musketeers, Elite, Infantry, and many more. The only difference between the two are how they are made of." Mina pulled out something like a golden orb from her sleeves "There are three ranks that signifies how strong a troop is, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Making this requires the material we use for their armors and the sword warriors, and the same as how they are made too, with divine powers."
"What I am holding is a gold rank, something I made beforehand, as same with swords and armors, they use your ability to make higher grade, higher durability, and other more depending on what you want to produce, so higher power input and right prayer or what should we call it, the higher your confidence and how you convey it will help it turn better and greater" Mina places back the orb in her hands.
"This will grow larger in size forming the troops when it is time for battle, with some of your talismans and the materials, depending on how many they are inside, what troops are inside especially what rank you made. The divine powers, helps create the troops and the talismans forms them, making Shikigami Troops, in later time I will show it to you, so for now, this orb I am holding is all you can get."
Mina's cheerfulness seizes as it was replaced with a serious look after she hid the troops "But remember Aichi you can fail to make them, they will break if your prayer lacked faith and not enough divine powers infused to it." Aichi nodded in response to Mina's seriousness.
After a second Mina flinches "Oh yeah, there is a way to make sword warriors durable, powerful, impulsive, higher impact, and mobile, though thinking about it… it's kind of well… I'll just explain to you but first." Aichi nodded.
Mina's serious look comes back "I haven't told you Aichi but did you know that you can fail in making swords?"
"WHAT?!" Aichi shouted with all his might, his emotions filled with mix feelings, but most importantly filled with pressure. Misaki's shot missed the target, dumbfounded at what she heard decided to listen to what they were talking about when she heard that Aichi can fail in calling sword warriors let alone to form them as one.
"Aichi-sama?!" Serious as they can be about overseeing the three guys in the training hall Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru hurried to where Aichi, Mina, and Misaki was without second thought while Mutsunokami and Midare stayed put at the training hall panicking a little that something had happened they watch while Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru checked on him.
Aichi's mixed emotion was replaced by panic when he saw the two running towards them "Did something happen?" Shokudaikiri asked worried. "Did you get hurt?" Tsurumaru asked worried at Aichi who arrived at the scene.
"No! No! No! Everything is fine I was just surprised on what Mina-nee said, it was nothing of important" Aichi shook his hands and head left and right trying to make them feel better and make them stop worrying.
Sighing of relief Shokudaikiri proceeded to speak "It was somewhat different from surprised you know, it felt like there was something more to it than surprise."
"I feel you, it was something along the lines of distraught or something" Tsurumaru raised an eyebrow while still looking straight to Aichi as if trying to make him spill the truth by explaining the reason for their hurry.
Aichi slowly dropped his hands and head "I see" and then his aura and atmosphere became gloomy but kept a smiling face.
Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru were taken aback, gulping before he spoke "D-did something happen?" Tsurumaru asked seeing as Aichi's voice and his aura became totally opposite of what they are used to. The two waited for a response but nothing came out of Aichi, so to get an answer the two turned to Mina at the same time.
Seeing the pleading face from the two that made Misaki understand more of the bonds between his toudans and him Mina can't help but intervene now "I was explaining something to him, and as I would have predicted, he was really affected at the thought of it, though I did not wish to make him feel like this, I was just preparing him for the worst and stuff." Aichi tries to compose himself before Mina continued to explain "Let me handle this, in due time I will also explain it to all of you."
Hearing an answer from Mina Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru nodded to Mina while they lightly bowed their heads to Aichi before heading back to the training hall without looking back like every second "They worry too much…" noticing this Mina sighed but grateful of them.
"Though there is a reason for them to feel that." Aichi still gloomed out has his negativity switched on.
Mina inwardly sighing clapped her hands once "Alright let's just forget about this and continue, since Misaki is listening it will be a good chance to explain to lighten the burden for you, Aichi" She turned to Misaki to ask for assurance which she nodded in response.
Mina closes her eyes for a moment before preparing herself to continue "You see Aichi, if you are thinking that you will create something like the enemy then no." Aichi's face lightened up a little "The reason why a summon can fail are two reason one is to fail through having a firm prayer and not having the right amount of divine powers making it not powerful enough to summon or make them, in other words they weren't able to convey it properly and wasn't able to sync with your determination or willpower making them incomplete, creating the sword but not the soul and the Second is the sword that heard the prayer was already here so the sword formed to whoever who heard it but can't make a mortal body since its soul is already present with you, meaning they were either fragments of said sword or different timeline lending their strength, to make another explanation, for it to happen it's other peoples gathered thoughts that the majority believed in about that sword helping them to form the sword." She finished while a smile is on her face.
"The good thing about this is those swords can be fused or refined with the sword that is already here but they have to match which sword they are before you use them. Simply saying and adding, you cannot make a duplicate but can fail if they are not present here" She smiles seeing as Aichi's normal expression and aura came back making her hunch right about the Retrograde Army "I see so you really thought they would become like them." Aichi nodded a little.
Mina slowly raises her hands reaching up to Aichi's head slowly caressing it with a warm smile on her face "I believe with you around, they won't turn out to be like that." Aichi widens his eyes in surprise hearing those words hastily raising his head while Mina slowly took away her hands from his head then continued to speak "How that happens will be from a different lecture, for now let us continue with training."
Thought still in his head he tries his hardest to forget what Mina had said while Aichi continued to practice, Misaki looked straight to Mina with curious eyes, as if asking her for something.
Outro: Wow, this day in the story is officially the longest since it looks like it will have another chapter making it 3 chapters.
so uhm I added a little idea of my own although I don't know if someone already had the same thought. I thought that it was time I altered the story a little since it's not going to the route of the story that I had in mind. Though I am still considering making an AU that is not on either timeline but will still borrow some of this story's perks.
I'm very sorry for my lack of vocabulary and wrong grammars and wrong spellings, but I hope you like the story nonetheless, and thank you for everyone's continuous support!
