Brad leaned against the fridge.

"Ok. We need to figure out how to get at Scar." he said.

Alice turned to him.

"Scar?" she asked. "Who's Scar?"

"That is what I decided to call the were cat. She has a scar over her eye." Brad informed them. "Speaking of which, how's your stomach Dad?"

John drained his orange juice before responding.

"Its doing ok. She has a mean swipe." he said.

The two nodded and Alice turned back to her son.

"How do you know that she has a scar?" Alice asked.

He blushed.. "I may have had a run-in with Scar almost an hour ago." he told them as he lifted his shirt and showed them the scratches on his side.

"She ambushed me. She went from a frightened cat to a evil one all in 24 hours. She even tried to attack Mr. Pepper next door when he confronted us with a shotgun during our standoff."

Just then he got excited.

"Which reminds me...Scar is wounded. She got shot. I ran off while she was chasing Mr. Pepper across his lawn. For a big guy he sure is a coward."

John rolled his eyes. "Sure is."

Alice knelt down and Brad took his shirt off.

Grabbing a clean dish rag, she wet it and gently dabbed at Brad's wounds.

"Have you noticed Wendy has acted...unusual lately?" John asked.

"What do you mean?" Brad asked.

"We haven't seen her in two days. She left yesterday without telling us. She went to bed at FIVE in the afternoon. AND she left early again this morning. Its only a 10-15 minute walk to her school and it doesn't start for another hour and a half." John said.

Alice shrugged as she stood up.

"Maybe she's got a project and wanted to get an early start and maybe she was just didn't get enough sleep the other night." Alice said. "I wouldn't worry about it."

She gave her husband a kiss on the cheek before taking a look at her husband's wound.

"Meanwhile...we've GOT to keep our wounds hidden. If Wendy finds out she'll freak!" Brad said.
