"I better keep my wounds hidden. Don't want anyone to notice. If they do they'll eventually put two and two together." Wendy said as she pushed through the double doors of Shadyside Middle School.
She knew no one was really there yet due to it being 6:15 in the morning.
She did noticed a few students and faculty members walking about the hallway.
Sighing, she walked down the hall passing her locker. Heading into the room, she threw the switch on the wall and the lights flashed on.
She plunked her stuff on her desk at the back of the room and started walking. She gazed towards the front and grinned.
"Now's my chance." Wendy said. "Mrs. Anderson usually doesn't arrive until right before school starts."
Walking around her teacher's desk, Wendy plopped herself down in the chair.
Wendy eyed the desktop and grinned.
She noticed Mrs. Anderson's calendar detailing all the important dates and meetings and whatnot.
She noticed the apple Nancy had given her, which she swiped. Opening her mouth, Wendy took a big bite and felt a sharp pain in her lip.
Yelping, she licked her lips and tasted blood.
She felt her teeth and noticed that they were sharp.
Shrugging, she ate the apple and tossed the core into the waste basket.
Wendy glanced at the clock and noticed that there was still an hour to go before school started.
Kids didn't arrive until 30 minutes before then.
Deciding to kill time, she opened the drawer on the left and realized it was full of stuff that Mrs. Anderson had confiscated over the course of the year.
Reaching in, she pulled out a pair of designer sunglasses. Wendy grinned as she recognized them.
Pulling her hood back, she tried on the glasses.
Getting up, she did a fake pose and grabbed Mrs. Anderson's mirror.
She frowned at her reflection.
Taking them she sat back down.
Nancy doesn't really need these" she said as she crushed them in her grip and tossed bits of plastic and glass into the drawer.
Slamming the drawer shut she pulled open the one on the right and noticed it was filled with fruit and candy.
Grinning, she reached in and wrapped her hand around some candy and pulled it out and heard footsteps out in the hall.
Shutting the drawer, Wendy flew across the room to her seat just as the door slammed open.
