Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Swordsmen and Thief. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I do not own any rights to Fairy Tale, Hiro Mashima, Kodansha and a few others that I may write about.

Clell looked at Grey and Lucy.

"So, anyone get a good rest?" Clell asked as he cracked his neck and yawned. "We're going to be here for a while." Clell added and looked around.

"Thanks for asking." Grey said and looked at the former thief. "But I'm fine. I'm sure your mind is on other things." Grey said which made Clell raise an eyebrow.

"If you mean keeping an eye on the convoy?" Clell asked and patted his holster for his weapons. "Yeah, I'm concerned the bandits are going to circle back. They seem to be concerned more with setting up traps then engaging us fully." Clell said and crossed his legs.

Clell watched as Grey eyed him which made him look at the guild member.

"You've spent a lot of time hanging out with Erza." Grey said which made Clell shrug and look at Venom and Spark. "Your afraid of bringing it up?" Grey asked before Clell shook his head.

"I just don't know what you want me to tell you." Clell stated and looked at the man. "I like sparring with her. I've gotten more training with those knives. I've never been able to get this much practice before now." Clell added before blinking.

"Oh, you mean…" Clell said and turned to the side in embarrassment. Lucy turned to the duo.

"Your shy about working with Erza?" Lucy asked as Clell looked to the side.

"No, but I like working with her as a partner." Clell said and turned. He didn't want Lucy to see the blush forming on his cheeks. "I cannot believe that you guys think we're…. More then that after just a few days to a week or so." Clell stated before waving at the air.

"You've spent a lot of time sparring with her." Grey put in which made Clell turn to him.

"One? She's the only swordswoman on the team as far as I know." Clell said, holding up one finger. "Two? The team lightning magic expert isn't up. I can't exactly train my Lightning Magic at this moment." Clell said before letting out another yawn.

Clell looked to the side and rubbed his eyes. He was far beyond being unprepared for this. Clell was a thief, maybe a warrior. But one thing he wasn't used to? People trying to dig into his love life.

"I think your just expecting something that isn't there." Clell said and leaned back. He uncrossed his legs and looked at Grey with another raised eyebrow. "If I did like Erza? I can tell you one thing. I'm not putting that before the mission. I take things like missions seriously." Clell stated to Grey.

"It's not bad to like someone, Clell." Lucy put in which made Clell look at Lucy. "Grey's just asking because we're all a little curious. Erza's been acting a little weird lately." Lucy added as Clell hummed.

"Really, like what?" Clell asked and looked at Lucy. "I haven't heard her mention anything. What did she do that was a problem?" Clell questioned Lucy and sat up slightly.

"Nothing, it's just she's been seeming a bit more hesitant." Lucy put in as Clell hummed and blinked.

"Well, Erza doesn't seem that off for me." Clell said and patted his holster for his blades. "She and me just started more intense training. I have no idea if it's something major since I haven't been around her long enough to really know for sure." Clell put in as he looked at Grey.

"Well, this has been a very interesting night, all things considered." Grey responded as Clell hummed. Clell cracked his neck and looked around.

"Yeah, but it's pretty boring considering how tiring it is." Clell said before starting to get up. "I'm going to go check around the site and look at things. I'll come back if there's really anything. Besides, I'm starting to get bored at the lack of any real challenge there is around here." Clell said while cracking his back.

Lucy and Grey watched as their newest teammate walked away. Lucy turned to Grey once Clell was out of earshot.

"Did you have to mention Erza like that?" Lucy asked with a raised eyebrow. "He's just going to get worried now. Erza said she wanted to try and address it herself." Lucy said as Grey sighed and raised his hands.

"Just thought I'd ask and get it out of the way." Grey said which made him hum and rub at his chin.

"Well, it doesn't make our job any easier." Lucy said and rolled her eyes. "Clell might be a former thief, but it isn't like he's a bad guy. Erza can look after herself." Lucy said before looking at where Clell went.

She knew something would happen sooner or later. Something bad always happened.
