Chapter 42: Flu? At this time?!

Yasusada and Kiyomitsu decided to talk at their room as they are now inside their room as they sat near the table and started.

"You know at that time… the shop tournament Aichi-sama went to I already knew that he was already chasing for someone's affection." Kiyomitsu paused as Yasusada remembers the time before the shop tournament since he was at that time but not the actual tournament.

"He was seeking that guy's affection" He meant Kai which Yasusada knew who is he referring to "At that time I knew that before he met him again that the affection he only has for me was only because I was the very first sword that he summoned and nothing more…"

"At that time I knew that even if I decorate myself with pretty things and keep myself pretty and clean he won't love me back since he already has someone he admires, I can't change that since even if I tried he would keep chasing him. Having the very first person he met is the very first person to give him strength, you can't compete to that…" Kiyomitsu slumped on the table then rested his chin on it as he continues.

"And so I decided that all I just need to do is keep myself pretty so that he won't abandon me, then I will still have purpose, that's what I should just be thinking" Kiyomitsu closed his eyes.

"You do know that Aichi-sama won't abandon everyone right?" Yasusada said.

Kiyomitsu lies on the floor "I know, that is why instead of his affection I told myself I'm just trying to make him notice me more." He covers his eyes with his arm.

"It was enough for me, to be honest I was happy that because of his status as this citadel's master, our master, Aichi-sama won't have much time to go there, but then the incident with Mina-nee happened and they happen to be there." Kiyomitsu sighed heavily "And then starting from there they always come here and they immediately became guardians for Aichi-sama because of Mina nee…"

"Because of that I realized I had been competing for Aichi-sama's love so he would notice me more and love me more, which I know for sure that he does and it's working but because of him, it feels like my efforts were all a waste as just one look from him…" Kiyomitsu felt frustrated.

"Heh that feeling that you are the one near him most but still can't compete with someone who doesn't even acknowledge him." Yasusada understood well.

"Yes that's exactly it!" Kiyomitsu groaned.

"I don't know if I'm the only one that noticed but, Aichi-sama's gaze towards that guy every time he looks at him, and from time to time I would notice that he would just stare at him." Kiyomitsu is biting his lips.

"I know." Yasusada said as Kiyomitsu slowly turned to him and peeked at him.

"I know, since every time I'm with you would always steal glances at Aichi-sama and sometimes I would notice that Aichi-sama does has a different gaze towards him. I don't know if you've notice but everyone knows what you feel towards Aichi-sama." Yasusada lied on his belly as he supports his body with his arms

"It's not like I'm hiding it though" Kiyomitsu pouts as Yasusada chuckled.

"Though Kiyomitsu, you do know that you are not the only one aiming for Aichi-sama's affection you know." Yasusada grins on Kiyomitsu.

"I know!" Kiyomitsu hid his face with his two hands now "I think I can beat everyone though."

"Full of confidence as always" Yasusada puffed.

"Just not Mikazuki I think, but I will try." He proceeded in laying his hands on the floor.

As did Yasusada as he lie on the floor "Yeah, ever since Aichi-sama summoned him, he is always near him hence he knows what is happening to him, even his conditions now he knew about Aichi-sama."

"It felt like he knew him too well…" Kiyomitsu said.

"They do look similar, somehow?" Yasusada said which made Kiyomitsu sprung up which surprised him.

"Come to think of it, when Mikazuki came to the room Mine-nee immediately knew that Mikazuki knows something about it though I haven't noticed that they were near aside from the times that Aichi-sama went to the garden to rest." Kiyomitsu remembered when Mina stopped him from leaving.

"He also found his way back to Aichi-sama on his very first dispatch without using his bracelet. We can't quite hear most of what their saying there too when Mina-nee synched the time there." Kiyomitsu stood up as he readies his bed while Yasusada simply stares at him.

"There is something they knew that they didn't tell us, is that what you are thinking" Kiyomitsu silently continued which made Yasusada's remark true.

"I don't know but you overthink and jump to conclusions when it comes to Aichi-sama…" Yasusada stood up and prepared for his bed too as their whole night was filled with silent as they were both deep in thought.

~Infirmary~

At that time at the infirmary where Mikazuki, Konnosuke, Mina, and Kai were left.

"Alright Kai-kun, I know that you know Aichi's personality but if ever you think that he is lying about something just ask Mikazuki." Kai was confused at the reason why but decided to listen first at them.

"Konnosuke hasn't even explained it properly yet." Mikazuki stared at Konnosuke.

Mina did the same "Come to think of it…" Konnosuke gulped "You haven't even told us about that."

"I'm going to report this." Mina said as she hurriedly left the room while Konnosuke tries everything in his power just to make her stop even pleading at her.

Mikazuki and Kai was left in the room and the silence begins, Mikazuki decided to sit down to Aichi's bed "Aren't you going to ask something?" this time Mikazuki has his usual carefree smile but it was different it was kind of an inviting smile.

Curious at this toudan that is in front of him "Why did she say that about you earlier?"

Mikazuki decided to give a hint "Let's just say that I am sensitive to his emotions." At that moment Aichi seems to be having a bad dream as he groaned but then Mikazuki immediately held his hand as Aichi calmed down a little as Mikazuki softly gazed at Aichi "I wonder what he is dreaming"

"You have some of Aichi's features" Kai spoke as he sat at the other bed.

Mikazuki chuckled and as if not trying to hide it "It's not that strong though." he smiled at Kai.

When Kai is about to speak "If they do so allow for me or Aichi to talk about it, then we shall but if not, then my lips are sealed." Mikazuki placed his pointer finger to his lips to not further the conversation.

"I'll stay here for a while to calm him down." Mikazuki said implying to Kai that there is nothing more to talk about.

Kai glanced at Aichi before deciding to leave "I'll be taking my leave then…"

Mikazuki sighs "It's not nice in giving them a scare especially before a trip."

~At that time with the others~

Thankfully Nikkari, Mutsunokami, Hasebe, Tsurumaru, and Shokudaikiri were all together in the kitchen where Horikawa and Yamanbagiri first decided to look.

"Ah! There you guys are." Horikawa said as he and Yamanbagiri ran towards the group.

Noticing the two the five turned around to greet them "Oh, Yamanbagiri, Horikawa, is something you need?" Shokudaikiri asked.

Horikawa and Yamanbagiri looked at each other not knowing where to start "Uhm…"

"You see right now, Aichi-sama is resting in the infirmary…" Horikawa started.

But he was immediately cut off by Hasebe as the dramatic sound effects and light for his 'moment' started "What! Did something terrible happen to Aichi-sama."

Fortunately Tsurumaru immediately stopped it "Oi, Oi, Oi… Don't jump into conclusion let's listen first to what they have to say."

Hasebe coughed "Of course please continue." Everyone in the room sweat dropped with the exception of Nikkari.

Horikawa felt a little reluctant to continue because of Hasebe but Shokudaikiri gave him an okay to continue "Yagen said it was a flu because he was over fatigued and that he needs a lot of rest, so Mina-nee said that if you ever see Aichi-sama doing work make sure to stop him."

"Mina-nee said to keep him not working and well rested until Friday" Yamanbagiri relayed to them.

"Aichi-sama has been doing work non-stop." Nikkari said thinking back at the days.

"He has been sending us to Expedition and the Front Lines." Mutsunokami added where they all nodded too.

"Also that barrier." Hasebe calmly conversed which somewhat surprised them but didn't react to keep him that way, though they do agree on that part, maybe it did a large part in deteriorating Aichi's health is what they thought.

"Speaking of barrier something like a glass shattered." Tsurumaru said.

"It was Aichi-sama's barrier" Horikawa sadly informed them, because of that the five gasped in surprised as they lower their heads.

"We were too occupied here that we never noticed if felt ashamed" Shokudaikiri said that made them silent as they also felt the same.

And at that moment they prepared as it was time "I can't believe that we were so preoccupied in our conversation regarding this trip we have this Friday and we haven't even noticed that the barrier broke nor something happened to Aichi-sama for shame!" Hasebe is full on dramatic mode which they let them be.

"I kind of feel embarrassed too, considering that we were occupied here and although we did felt that something did break we didn't even bother to look." Tsurumaru raised his arms and shrugged.

"And the fact that we didn't feel anything." Shokudaikiri muttered.

"Are we that dense that we didn't even notice that it was the barrier that broke" Mutsunokami ruffled his hair in annoyance.

"It's not your fault" Horikawa surprised them by shouting as he apologized for his sudden outburst as he lowered his head.

He was not the only as Yamanbagiri felt the same "Aichi-sama… collapsed near our room." he looked away not wanting to have eye contact.

The five finally understood what the two feel, they must have felt worse as Aichi was close to their room and they did not feel anything the five kept silent as they tried of thinking to change the heavy atmosphere.

"So… any idea how Aichi-sama end up that way?" Shokudaikiri asked.

Horikawa and Yamanbagiri both moved their head left and right signaling it's a no "Mina-nee said to just wait for Aichi-sama to wake up."

When the silence filled the room, everyone was eyeing the silent Hasebe, and they were right to do so as he was stopped by everyone in the room before he could even take a step "What the?!" He yelled at them.

Shokudaikiri's eyebrows were frowning but his lips were smiling "Aichi-sama needs rest right now, for now let's think up a food that he can eat." As they agreed especially Hasebe they began to talk about food suggestion for the sick.

~Wednesday Morning~

Slowly waking up from his deep slumber he opens his eyes as it acclimates to the surroundings and noticed that this place is familiar, feeling his body was too heavy as he tried to stand up but wasn't able to he decided to look left and right to scan the area and noticed a black hair sleeping beside his bed as he tries to think of who "Yagen?" he muttered.

Hearing his name he wakes up as he rubs his eyes while slowly standing up to sit properly he was still somewhat groggy as he noticed Aichi finally opened his eyes all the sleepiness went away as he was now fully awake "Aichi-sama!" He stood up and took the equipment's he will need to check him up in a hurry.

~Garden~

Everyone is gathered by Mina in the garden as they talk about this coming Friday's trip "Alright today we will be further talking about our plans for Friday." Mina spoke though to be honest she wasn't in the mood same as the others since Aichi is not in good condition, they all thought that it wasn't the time to be thinking that.

"C'mon everyone, Aichi's condition is not that bad, it's just a flu." Mina explained trying to comfort everyone.

"By the way what did happen to Aichi-sama aside from being overworked?" Kiyomitsu and Yasusada reacted a little from Shokudaikiri's question as did Mina thinking if she should even tell them.

Thankfully Mina wasn't able to answer as they were looking at Mikazuki's reaction. He was only silently sipping his tea as usual whenever he is in the garden but right now he has a surprised look on his face.

"Mikazuki-sama?" Imanotsurugi called out in worry as he walked towards him.

After being called out Mikazuki recovered as he smiled and patted Imanotsurugi's head though he was confused at the gesture. Slowly he looked at Kai and then to Mina which they caught the message.

"Aichi-kun is awake…" Mina muttered and because of the silence everyone heard her knowing what the toudans are about to do "Wait!" She stops them from going to the infirmary "I will go and check." Mina ran through the hallways in a hurry.

As everyone's curiosity from Mikazuki's earlier expression faded as it was immediately replaced by happiness and relief upon hearing that Aichi finally woke up.

~Back at the Infirmary~

"Did Aichi-kun woke up?" Was Mina's words as she opened up the door to the infirmary which didn't surprise Yagen but surprised Aichi.

Seeing Yagen who seems to just finish checking up Aichi turned his head to look at Mina who walked towards them.

"A… i… chi… kun…" Mina wanted to scold him right now but just looking at his expression right now as if already having a headache sighs in defeat "Why didn't you tell me that you were doing late night sewings…" Mina placed a hand on her temple.

"I-" Aichi started but was stopped by Mina with a stop hand gesture.

"I hope you get well while we all prepare for this coming Friday's trip." She sadly smiles "Everyone is reluctant to even go because they heard that you were in the infirmary because of that I couldn't even tell them one of the reason why you collapsed."

Aichi was speechless as there were no argument that can spare him since it was his fault that the mood was crushed.

"Just promise me to not do any kind of work, we want to make sure that you are in good condition until Friday." She started "Also I will allow you to rest in your room and continue your unfinished sewing but no more all-nighters." She smiles to Aichi as he accepted the terms.

"So how is he now Yagen?" Mina asked.

"Thankfully his temperature went down, he just has a slight cold now. He just need to drink this medicine I made last night and he will be all better." Yagen showed a vial with red liquid inside as his glasses completely covered his eyes that made them gulped "Don't worry this is strawberry flavored, I made sure that you will be able to drink this." He just scared them a little and it is effective as both Mina and Aichi nervously smiled.

"Strawberry flavor?" Mina asked in confusion and remembered this is Aichi we are talking about "You are pampering him aren't you…"

"Of course." Yagen pushed up his glasses in affirmation "That isn't a question anymore is it? Since, it is already a given." Yagen smiled as Mina chuckled at his response.

"Then I will call Shokudaikiri, Horikawa and Hasebe to prepare you two a breakfast and bring it here so that you two could eat and Aichi to drink up his medicine." Yagen nodded as Mina left the room to inform the others about Aichi.

~Back at the Garden~

Mina walked to the garden as she informed everyone of Aichi's condition "Alright, good news everyone" everyone smiled at those word in an instant "Aichi-kun has woken up he only has a cold right now, Yagen made a medicine that will be able to make his condition return to normal so Shokudaikiri, Horikawa and Hasebe, would you please make breakfast for Yagen and Aichi-kun right now and take it to the infirmary so that he could be able to drink the medicine."

Shokudaikiri, Horikawa, and Hasebe nodded as they hastily ran towards the kitchen to prepare immediately.

"Wait… Yagen made… the…" Mutsunokami started as they all understood why he acted like that.

"Don't worry its Aichi-kun who is going to drink it, I'm sure he won't do anything to make him drink something nasty but effective, or something experimental." Mina immediately put a stop to his trail off thought.

"I wish he could do the same for us." Yasusada felt almost throwing up.

"Aichi-sama is an exception we can't do something about that." Kiyomitsu has said the obvious.

"I know but still…" Yasusada whines as the others laughed at his reaction, they all understood that Aichi is an exemption since it is also the case for them.

In Mina's mind "This is the citadel that I want to see." She thought as she looked at everyone's cheerful atmosphere.

"Alright let's all continue on to our previous dilemma, which is what we plan to do this coming trip." Everyone has their spirits brought back as they all cheered.

~Afternoon -Infirmary-~

Mina is with Mikazuki and Kai in the infirmary as they wait for Yagen's final check-up to Aichi "His temperature is back to normal" Yagen smiled as he exhaled in relief.

"Your medicine always work in wonders Yagen." Mina said as she run to Aichi's side while Mikazuki and Kai followed her.

Right about now since Aichi is in good condition than before he is now sitting up on his bed "We can't be too sure that it won't come back so to make sure that you don't do any work, I will permit you to sew your unfinished ones but make sure not to do any all-nighter and to make sure I asked Kai to be on the lookout."

Cue in shock from Aichi "EHHH?!" but then they all sweat drop at the next part as he coughed thankfully Yagen already has a water ready which made them show more sweat drop because of that as Aichi immediately drinks it.

"You are one step ahead…" Mina blankly looked at Yagen.

Yagen grinned "Of course." Yeah… Mina knew Yagen already know Aichi like a book but still.

"It was the same with Shokudaikiri…" Mina reminisced when she revealed to Aichi the part about his friends being guardians which Kai thought so too as he was also there.

"Well Aichi-kun it's not just Kai-kun everyone is also on the lookout, let's just say that this will be his first job as a guardian, like your attendant." Mina noticed Aichi's expression and that alone already gave her an idea.

"So without further ado, we will be continuing on planning and then off to buy the necessary equipment's and get a vehicle that could fit us in, though you guys are going with the others in Card Capital right?" Mina looked at Kai and Aichi as they both nodded.

"I see then it will save us a little space." Mina said as she looks at her notes "Welp I'm going to leave you here while we buy stuff." Mina said as she exited the room.

When Mina exited the room "So, Aichi-sama how many more do you need to sew?" Yagen asked as Aichi was taken aback by the sudden question as he looked at Mikazuki.

Come to think of it Mina did say that no sewing at night when did Mina know, he was so occupied with Kai being his kind of an attendant that he forgot about that part.

"I told them…" Mikazuki steps forward as he sat to Aichi's bed as Aichi's expression saddened that he told them.

"Though the only ones who knew were Me, Kai, Yamatonokami, Kashuu, Yagen, and Mina-nee." Mikazuki smiled trying to see through his feelings "Cheer up, they don't know yet, you are probably thinking that they would lose their enthusiasm for this upcoming event because it was because of them that you got sick, well it's not their fault but yours." Aichi clutches his hands as it is true.

Mikazuki stood up as he continued speaking while heading out of the room "Aichi-sama if being a burden frustrates you, why don't you start by minimizing your stubbornness or putting it into place." Mikazuki's tone was different from his usual one, this tone he has right now seems to be one of someone who is angry and scolding.

Aichi felt like he wanted to cry thinking that he hasn't made any difference at all he thought he made things worse, always, his judgment is once again clouded as his was always that frail.

Kai sighs "When will you learn? Do you ever even learn? Are your words only just words and no action? Or only words at first with action but then will falter? Is it really just that simple? Everyone's feelings?" he started scolding Aichi which surprised even Yagen.

"No!" Aichi shouted.

"Then make a difference, why is it that just one mistake you crumple back to your shell, is it only all that you got?" Kai tries to infuriate Aichi.

Aichi bit his lip accepting his wrongs "Alright! Understand I'll just have to finish it today if not then tomorrow while everyone is busy with the preparation since this is my gift for everyone, then I will explain it to everyone also."

Kai smiles as he is able to bring back the Aichi that he knew as Yagen silently stared at Kai as he remembers Mikazuki being someone who knew Aichi well too "Yagen, is it alright if I go back to my room and start?"

Still a bit dumbfounded Yagen responded "Yes, as long as you stay in your room and do not overwork yourself, and especially follow Mina-nee's order then you will be fine."

"Then come with me to my room with Kai-kun and make sure that I don't overdo it!" Aichi slowly stood up from his bed but his body is still not that one hundred percent recuperated so he almost fell down.

Kai fortunately was able to catch him as Aichi tries his best to try and stop his face from flushing as Yagen immediately runs towards them to also support Aichi.

"Do you think we need someone to carry you to your room?" Yagen thought.

Aichi slowly recovers as he was able to stand firm now "N-no that is no need, everyone is busy so let's not bother them."

As they follow Aichi to his room Yagen and Kai watches out from behind if Aichi ever stumbles.
