Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Swordsmen and Thief. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I do not own any rights to Fairy Tale, Hiro Mashima, Kodansha and a few others that I may write about.

Clell was silent the entire shift. His thoughts shifted to the daggers he carried; they had been nothing but a weapon. A simple tool in the scheme of things… Now they became one of the most prized relics in his collection. It scared him, you couldn't exactly believe a random relic that you stole was something super important, could you?

Erza noticed this. She could see something was wrong with Clell, but she couldn't fathom what it was. It gnawed at her in a way that things usually didn't.

"You know more then anything that I'm rather scared?" Erza heard Clell questioned as he turned to her. "I don't know what to do, these daggers are important. I just don't know why their so fancy when I thought they were just weapons." Cell stated, cracking his knuckles as he did so.

He had a thousand thoughts running through his head. Thoughts he didn't expect when he turned his attention to them. He slowly questioned what to do next, what was important enough to catch his attention. It scared him enough for him to question his place in this area… IN this place when it came down to it. There was plenty of things to be considered.

"Everyone has their place in life, Clell." Erza pointed out to which Clell could only shake his head.

"Then what's mine?" Clell questioned, a eyebrow raised as he hummed with interest. "I don't know what's going to happen next. I don't know what their doing. Those bandits will return and you and I KNOW that their not going to be in the mood to talk. Their going to want blood. I just don't know if I'm going to be ready to fight them when they return." Clell pointed out as he sighed and rubbed at his temples.

Then again? It wasn't like he had a manual when it came down to it, if it was easy? He'd have already mastered it when it came down to it. Clell didn't expect it to be easy, he didn't want it to be easy, if it was? He'd pretty much be dealing with life uncontested.

"What do you think will happen when we get to the capital?" Clell questioned, an eyebrow raised at this. "Do you expect something crazy? I just don't expect things to go well when we get there." Clell pointed out to which was the honest truth in his mind.

There wouldn't be peace. Clell knew the soldiers enough to guarantee that something would go wrong. They would find some reason to try and strike back at them.

"Do you think I might have some connection to here?" Clell questioned as he turned to Erza. "I don't know, but I'm starting to question if I used to be here a long time. It just… FEELS familiar, you know? I cant explain what it is, but it feels like I've been here in a lifetime or two." Clell stated, sitting up and slowly walking away at the moment.

He needed to think, question his next move. The more he thought about it? The more he thought about something, this place seemed familiar, but he didn't know why. Had he been here long ago? Was some faint inkling, a memory from years prior what he recalled? Clell didn't remember being here, still? He was young enough back then to know just what he remembered might not be close to what he had actually done.

Riku cursed, wanting answers that could be understood if not at least fathomed.

Erza looked at him while he cracked a small smile. There were things on his mind that she understood well enough. Plenty of it was rambling… But Erza understood rambling well enough, there was enough doubt in his voice to suggest his past might be more checkered then even HE remembered.

That was the thing with being a thief, you stole so much that you learned to improvise… And the tricks you often made? Those tricks were enough to confuse even yourself when it came down to it.

"You know, I've dealt with tricks in my mind before when it came down to it?" Erza asked, her eyebrow raised in confusion as she turned to look around. "I don't know what your tricks are, but its clear you have some small attachment here. Something that keeps pulling at your heart and head, it's quite easy to see that when you think about it." Erza added, rubbing at her arms as she smiled at Clell.

He rubbed at his arms, quite confused himself… However, she made him feel content, happy even the more he thought about it.

This peace should hopefully last, Clell wanted it to, oh did he want it not to end… But it had to, just like all things sadly did.
