Author's note at the end
Apart from the news about the increase in the rise of villains on Tv, nothing bothered Naruto more than the negative outcomes of meeting All for One. What if it happens that he was a bigger threat than he actually was -the fact he possessed chakra was one thing he was already worried about. How was he even restrained, they couldn't restrain him and Sasuke.
Sigh ...
He leaned back on the couch, eyes scrunched tight in thought.
His classmates were watching an interview of the newly ranked number three hero, Hawks. It started after all the Heroes received their new ranks, they all stayed back for a short celebration, except for Endeavor who had already left. Several important media persons flocked all around to score with the high ranked heroes, including Endeavor. Hawks also had a boatload of attention due to not only his popularity but also his statements during the ceremony since it had stirred up a lot of questions in people's minds.
With a handsome smile on his face while he spoke, he promptly apologized for his behavior at the Hero ranking ceremony as Endeavor had told him to. The interviewer went ahead to ask about what he thought of Sasuke Uchiha, Endeavor's work study student, Class A and Naruto's ears perked up. Also as if on cue, Sasuke just walked into the common room still in uniform, looking as aloof as ever.
"Oh, Sasuke? That guy is, the definition of -permit me to say- a badass." Hawks enthusiastically admitted. "I've never seen someone as young and handsome with such talent aside from, y'know." He thumbed his chest with a smug look. "Yours truly."
"I'm gonna be completely honest and say I want to steal him from Endeavor-san and have him join my agency as my sidekick. We'd make a kickass team!"
Enji at his home popped an angry vein as he watched. Keigo, you brat!
"Otou-san, your slushie's melting."
Enji gazed down at his frozen dessert to see that his daughter was right. He'd heated up unconsciously and melted the ice.
"Oh, sorry Fuyumi but could you get me another, I was really enjoying it."
"Hai hai." She got up and took the melted slushie from him. On her way to the kitchen, she blushed and furiously tapped on her phone. Keigo, you idiot. Don't tease papa like that! }:-(
"Wow, looks like you're getting pretty popular, Sasuke." Kirishima said being the first person other than Naruto to notice Sasuke had joined them.
"Yeah, the Endeavor and Hawks agency are fighting over you." Jirou added as her ear jacks pointed at Sasuke.
"Hawks is only trying to pester Enji, he's joking about recruiting me." Sasuke said austerically already knowing how Keigo behaved after just meeting today.
"Oh I see, you've got that in common, you troll." Naruto quipped as Sasuke shot him a scowl.
"I don't troll people," he caught Bakugo and Todoroki's jugding stares and rolled his eyes away."…On purpose."
"Sure you don't..." The sarcasm dripping from Naruto's tone was way too obvious.
Sasuke knew, he most definitely trolled people only when he felt they deserved it and he'd done quite a number on Naruto back in their preteen days, hence Naruto's current demeanor. However, he knew Naruto was jealous that he'd stolen his spotlight. Just like the old days, Naruto was still the same.
"I'm going to change." He announced quietly as he exited the common room.
"Hurry back for dinner, Sato cooked -it's really good!" Denki hollered after him.
We have that in common, huh?...
Sasuke didn't work with anyone, just because they had some characteristic common trait, but if they had a common goal and he also, for the time being, while he was here, be of some help. But he had to tell Naruto first about it and they'll both decide if he should agree and give Hawks a call or not.
He thought hardly on this as he removed his neck tie and sighed, bringing a hand over his Rinnegan now pulsing with chakra and ready to go.
You want to meet me...?
It was a brief phonecall, one where Endeavor did the most absurd thing. He asked to meet him, usually he was the one attempting to strike a normal conversation with him while he(Endeavor) would reject the approaches.
Toshinori was surprised to say the least that Endeavor would even phone him. He wondered what it could be about.
Currently, Yueii and Shiketsu had a security crisis and we're meeting today to discuss how they deal with it together. As the number one hero, Endeavor had to be present, perhaps he wanted to discuss security matters with him privately?
That had to be it.
Naruto and Sasuke walked out of heights alliance together as they talked in low tones, Gran Torino had contacted them to prepare for their meeting with All for One. Just what we're they going to see?
"And oh," Sasuke said remembering something. "Hawks wants me to join him on a mission."
The silence that hung between them that moment was because Naruto was frozen and dumbstruck, trying his best to process this first. He stayed quiet before a long awaited. "Hah?" left his mouth. He was just taken by surprise by the way Sasuke said it so casually.
"You heard me."
"Y-yeah I did but scratch that, I know you're gonna accept,"
Wow.
"How is it gonna work, I mean you're with the Endeavor agency?"
"Hawks will sort it out no problem." He answered, walking in a leisurely pace with Naruto following behind. "I wanted you to know, that's why I'm telling you."
"I see, so...you guys are probably gonna start investigating Nomu and stuff."
"Probably."
Naruto let out a sigh. "You really like these kinda things so there's just no stoping you, ya know."
Sasuke's lips quirked in a small smile at that while enjoying the soft breeze. It was a cool afternoon, so walks and outdoor training was very much encouraged among them. However, the occasional breeze kept growing higher and higher in wind power.
"Uzumakiiiiiiii!!!"
Both ninja heroes turned to the sound of the catastrophic voice to see a flying man making his way towards them. Naruto especially. His body was held up by the large swirls of wind and picked up dust that Naruto and Sasuke had to shield their eyes.
Landing with a thud from his boots hitting the ground, he sped walked towards Naruto and enveloped him in a huge bear hug, catching the blonde by surprise.
Who was this guy again?
"Finally, we meet again, Uzumaki." His eyes flitted to Sasuke for a moment before nodding in acknowledgement. "And Uchiha."
"Ah gomen, but..." Naruto smiled nervously and palmed the back of his head. "Who are you again?"
His already wide eyes, widened even further -if that is even biologically possible. "It's me, the passionate tornado guy. We met at the provisional exams!" He raised his brows patiently as Naruto tried to recall.
"Oh! Inasa 'ya know!"
"Yes, that's me!" Inasa crowed commanding another huge gust of wind as he laughed. "It's been so long, Uzumaki!"
"It's only been a week or two."Sasuke muttered but was ignored.
"Last time we met, you said you were also a wind user."
"Ah, that's right."
"Well I've been training and waiting for this day...Uzumaki, will you fight me in a wind user battle?"
"Eh?" Naruto was caught off guard for a second. "Oh iya...no I...I don't..." He chuckled nervously at Inasa's growing disappointment.
"Aw, c'mon Naruto give him a shot." Ashido hollered behind Inasa causing them to realised they were being watched. From the looks of it, class 1A and the other Shiketsu were quite flustered from getting caught.
"Dumbass alien!" Bakugo grunted before proceeding to bonk the pinkette on the head for blowing their cover.
Naruto sighed as he didn't want to be a disappointment Infront of a crowd. "Fine, y'know. Let's have a wind user battle."
Inasa celebrated by causing a whirl wind to carry him off the ground before letting him fall from such a dangerous height while he crowed.
"You know what you're doing, right?" Sasuke asked Naruto who nodded simply.
Unknown to the UA and Shiketsu students, both school boards were meeting today to discuss security measures. So keeping them occupied while this was going on was the best solution.
"I know what I'm doing alright, ya know."
"Okay, so here's the rules; no other form of attacks apart from wind enhanced ones." Izuku explained standing between the opponents in the gym. Inasa's face was dead serious and focused while Naruto though looking impassive was calculating. Izuku could tell.
This is troublesome... Naruto groaned quietly, If I use most of my major wind style attacks, he could either get killed or worse, this place would get demolished and then, Old man Aizawa wouldn't let me hear the end of it. Shit I could get punished again. Just thinking about this makes the situation even more troublesome. He let out a weary sigh that had Izuku blinking and smiling nervously.
Don't overthink things, Naruto-kun.
I sounded just like Shikamaru back there didn't I? Speaking of Shikamaru, his girlfriend's actually a really good wind user...hm...what jutsu does Temari use that dosen't cause too much damage.
"Here I come!"
He wasn't left time to think any longer as Izuku had started the match (or rather Inasa had jumped in before the start) prompting him to releasing a great swirl of wind towards Naruto who dogded quite easily but the current was quite great and had sliced a little on his cheek.
Naruto chuckled as he swiped at the little blood trickling down. "Well well well."
Their spectators all gasped while Inasa silently celebrated. Sasuke looked amused, while Izuku and everyone were quite surprised even Inasa's classmates.
"Wow, Inasa's strong."
"He's improved since the exams alright." Shouto agreed with a nod also quite impressed with Inasa's strength.
"When you said you'd been training I honestly didn't take you serious." Naruto released a wide toothy grin.
"Guess I should've known better, y'know." There was something completely sinister about the smile Naruto had on his face.
"He's triggered." Sasuke said to Izuku, Todoroki and Bakugou's hearing watching the two closely. When the three student-heroes gave him their attention. "Naruto had only mastered how to make his wind style strong enough to obliterate an entire territiory, not spar in a friendly match. The fact that Inasa can make good use of his tornado quirk in a spar while he can't seem to find a safe technique annoys the hell out of him."
"I don't blame 'em. I mean, if I was Blondie I'd exploded by now."
Todoroki agreed with a nod.
"I just hope Inasa-kun will be okay." Izuku admitted worriedly.
At the end of the day, even Temari's techniques are still dangerous, guess I'll have to improvise, y'know.
Naruto drug in a long breath before putting his hands together in a seal. A huge tornado sprung out from under Inasa carrying him with it.
"What?!" Shishikura screamed, eyes wide and nearly rolling out of their sockets. Of course Inasa was already reversing the tornado but Naruto was prepared. Taking out a kunai, he breathed his wind chakra also smoothing his hands over it crafting a sword.
"Is that a sword?" Ochako asked incredulously.
"How is he able to do that in a short amount of time?"
"When you reach Naruto's level, adapting in a fight will be very easy." Sasuke replied to Izuku who continued to stare in awe at how Naruto rocketed into the air to meet Inasa who had dispelled the tornado.
He was surely taken by surprise when Naruto had suddenly appeared before him with a wind saber to which he used to smack him down.
Good thing I dulled the chakra so the sword isn't sharp but it is powerful. Naruto mused.
He crashed into the floor but recovered in time to narrowly escape a slash from Naruto's wind sword. He managed to block the next one.
That was a mistake.
He was sent yards back proving how powerful attacks from the blunt blade were. He skidded back but wasn't given time to regroup, Naruto was already at his rear with a menacing smile on his face.
"Wind style: Gale palm." He went ahead to slam his palm against Inasa's back and sent him hard to the floor. That was how the match ended as Inasa wasn't getting up anytime soon.
"Wow." Was all Bakugou could say.
"In the end, Inasa never stood a chance, even if Naruto was restricted to a Handicap he'd still beat him." Sasuke stated. "The truth is, Naruto's experience is too enormous." He sailed his eyes over to Izuku. "You're very lucky to have him teach you."
"Yeah." Izuku said breathlessly with a grin remembering everything and every form of training Naruto had put him through. "And I'm very grateful."
"How do you do it?"
Toshinori hummed softly before looking away from the just concluded match between Naruto and Inasa to Enji's way. Unknown to the students, both parties were done with the meetings for security of both schools. So as planned, Enji had pulled Toshinori aside and they'd somehow wounded up in the gym were Naruto and Inasa were engaging, decided to watch as they talked.
Enji had asked Toshinori how he could be a better man. Something he found that he wasn't. Allmight was a man that everyone had admired if not for some like him who didn't. Nevertheless, he was still loved.
"It's not something I can just tell you, Enji." Toshinori said. "I can't just teach you a formula on how to be better, it's not so simple."
Enji also release his own hum, eyes zeroing on Naruto who just won the match. "Then how do I learn."
"Just know this; by constantly doing your best, you can become the person you want to. Take how you made it to the number two spot for example. You kept trying, persevering," they watched Naruto help Inasa to his feet while beaming a huge grin. "Eventually, you made it to where you are now because, you endeavored to make it." He smiled at the little joke there. "I know you Enji, you're a man who won't give up so easily that's why I believe in you."
"In order to atone for my sins, I will work hard and gain my family's forgiveness." He revealed as his eyes softened at Shouto who had joined his classmates to congratulate Naruto and Inasa.
I will do my very best...Shouto...
"I was previously doubtful of your skills until today, Uzumaki-kun. You completely astound me." Shishikura said in a proud tone as he sauntered on ahead of the group, arms behind his back facing the sunset.
Everyone behind him either felt lost or just straight up exasperated.
"Who are you, y'know?" Naruto asked innocently much to everyone except of course, Shishikura's amusement.
The Shiketsu second year spun round to face the taller boy with a condescending look on his face. "I am Shishikura's seiji. We hadn't met properly in the Provisional license exams but I'll have you know I thought three of your classmates some good lessons."
Bakugou felt his anger burning from within at Shishikura's pointed gaze until Naruto began to laugh with mirth.
"Oh yeah, you're Niku-Niku, ya know!"
Silence...
"Niku...Niku?" Shishikura was stunned as everyone broke into laughter.
Naruto pointed a finger gun at him. "You're the guy who turned Eijiro into meat, right?" He scrunched his brows showing some confusion at Shishikura's shock. "Or am I wrong or somethin', pretty sure it was you. You've got crazy small eyes, ya know."
Bakugou's laughter was the loudest after Shishikura gasped. He hunched over while still pointing and laughing at the second year. Tears leaking from his eyes. "Damn right, Blondie!"
"My eyes are not small, they are big and handsome!"
"Ah gomen gomen, ya know." Naruto lamely apologies with a smile.
"You better be sorry, you don't talk to your seniors that way." He huffed. "I know UA taught you better."
"Enough, Shishikura." Nagamasa sighed stepping in to settle things down. "You shouldn't try to start fight with other schools again and plus, Naruto's older than you."
Naruto just smiled at Shishikura's confused gaze at him and shrugged. "Yep, I just started pretty late."
"Whatever, I am not going to apologize as I was ignorant of the fact that you are my elder, but even with the age gap, I am still ahead in studies so I still deserve some respect."
"Hai hai." Naruto sighed waving it off. He didn't really care about all that respect stuff anyway.
"Well it's been a very splendid day." Nagamasa said in a light tone before bowing to Naruto. "Thank you for being so hospitable, Uzumaki-kun."
"It's fine I had a lotta fun too." Naruto grinned, turning to face Inasa. "Thanks, Inasa!"
The passionate wind user bowed vigorously. "Hai! The next time we meet, I'll be even stronger than the you who had fought me."
Shocked but pleased, Naruto give him a thumb up. "Train hard."
"Shouto." The group turned to see that the current number one Hero and the former had just arrived.
"Endeavor and All might-san, it is an honour to meet you both."
"Eh, the pleasure is mine, young Shishikura."
Enji was however, more focused on talking with his son than the Shiketsu second year. He raised a hand, reaching towards Shouto in an attempt to pat the boy on the head. "You look well."
"Drop it." Shouto said curtly but laced with venom as smacked the Todoroki patriarch's hand away leaving it to drop at his side.
Everyone was stunned silent at the scene. The ones who knew feeling nothing but pity while others were just shocked and confused.
"I..." His fists at his side clenched. "Just watch me." He finally proclaimed. "I will become a man who will do his best..." Shouto's cold expression morphed into one of wonder at that while Sasuke and All might smiled softly.
"I'll do my best for everyone around me and I'll be a man that you can be proud of." Enji said now looking at his son with mination. "The greatest man."
Shouto stared in awe until he eventually broke his gaze with a huff and a stubborn look before turning to leave. "Whatever, do what you want." No one except Sasuke saw it; the overjoyed smile on Shouto's face as he walked away.
"Endeavor." The fiery hero turned to the call of his hero name to see a tall energetic Shiketsu student march towards him. The boy smiled before literally punching himself in the face causing it to bleed. "I'm rooting for you." He said unfazed.
Enji smiled softly at Inasa. "Thank you, and you're bleeding."
I'm so happy with the changes, it's all for good... Toshinori mused with a serene smile enjoying the peaceful state of things. I know now that when the time comes and I eventually fade away...they'll all be in good hands...this is how you felt, right master?
And cut!
Now before you kill me, allow me to explain. In order for the pacing to be almost equal to the MHA manga (which I've been reading) I had to wait til now so I could get enough ideas to write more chapters.
Well now I'm happy to inform you that I am loaded with ideas! Like I said before, things are gonna get darker and there is character death soif you know your mind is not resilient enough for what's coming, then I'll advice you to stop reading after chapter four.
