Chapter 50: A Rare 3 Uchi
Aichi and Mikazuki slides down onto the ground, Mikazuki used his other arm to close of Aichi's nose so that he won't smell and think of the blood too much, but he was too much in pain to even think about that, closing is eyes in the process.
Seeing that there are no more enemies around, the five hurries to their side as they hear muffled voices from Aichi as he flinches from the pain seeing Aichi like that they became silent.
They wanted to look away from his suffering thinking things like what if this is not just what he attained, what if he attained a more graver injury in the future, so instead of looking away they will just have to be by his side like how he is with them.
Noticing that Aichi can't do anything with him like this Konnosuke hurries to rummage for Aichi's talisman in his sleeves.
Yagen and Horikawa kneels as Yagen checks up at the injury Aichi attained "Aichi-sama I'm going to take a look at the wound alright…?" Yagen notified Aichi before he surprises him, nodding Aichi gives him permission to do so.
Aichi holds onto Mikazuki tighter as Yagen peeled of the wet clothes of Aichi as he tries to get a better look at his injury as he take notice of Mikazuki's arm he instantly understood that "You shielded Aichi-sama…"
Mikazuki nodded as Tsurumaru, Taroutachi, Horikawa, and Kiyomitsu were surprised "You attained this injury from shielding Aichi-sama, but I can see that the enemy did not want to see him unscathed and tried his best to injury him, scrapping his chest."
"I really can't understand him!" Kiyomitsu snarled.
"I don't think it would be that easy to understand him though." Yagen added.
"He was too far back…" Taroutachi pities the cloaked man.
"Anyways, if it wasn't for Mikazuki protecting Aichi-sama the cut on Aichi-sama's chest wouldn't end up to be this shallow, thankfully this kind of cut wouldn't turn into a scar." Yagen said as he stood up.
"Aichi-sama, hang in there alright." Horikawa stood up.
"Unlike us, we are kind of accustomed to pain." Tsurumaru bitterly smiles as they continue on to look on Aichi who is breathing heavily at this moment.
Konnosuke finally found the talismans that could bring them back as he brings them to Kiyomitsu "Let's go back to get everyone treated." Konnosuke said when Kiyomitsu took the talismans.
"There is no more enemies anymore and we are also fatigued, it's time to go back." Kiyomitsu released the talismans with Konnosuke's help as they took notice of their orange dimming bell.
~Present time –Monday … Midnight-~
As the pillar of light shone everyone who were left behind in the citadel were waiting for them to return as it was past the time they should have come back.
When the light is fully gone, Mina notices the blood streaks from them "You guys were waiting for us?" Kiyomitsu smiles as Mina ran towards them to check them.
Seeing that the five were upfront they noticed that Mikazuki and Aichi were nowhere to be found, noticing their formation they noticed that the five were hiding something from behind them, as they all looked away everyone runs forward surprising them.
Shokudaikiri went past them as he noticed a bleeding Aichi and a Mikazuki who never lets go of him he kneels down "What happened?!"
Konnosuke jumps over to Mina while Miwa closes Kamui's eyes.
Everyone's expression turned to grimace at the sight of Aichi and blood in his chest and clothes, somehow the six had a weird thought that they might be thinking something scary such as Aichi died or something "Before all of you panic, Aichi-sama's injury is just a shallow cut, Mikazuki shielded him so he didn't attain a much deeper cut. He won't also gain a scar."
"And he also only passed out because of exhaustion, from his overuse of his ability." Horikawa added to support Yagen.
Slowly everyone's doomed expression died down and was changed into relief as they all sighed in relief.
"C'mon hurry up follow me to the infirmary!" Mina said as she looks at Misaki "Misaki-chan, can you help me?" surprised she nodded in affirmation.
"I can still help though…" Yagen muffled as he followed Mina and Misaki.
"Aichi-sama wanted to be the one to treat us but if we don't get treated he will be sadder." Horikawa said as they all followed Mina to the infirmary.
Mikazuki carried Aichi in his arms as the other three followed the others to the infirmary as the others stayed behind.
When the six with Mina, Misaki, and Aichi left, the ones remaining at the center were the eleven Tantous and the 3 guardians "Mikazuki-sama wasn't smiling." Imanotsurugi started.
"He would still be smiling even if something bad happened to Aichi-sama!" Midare added.
"Yeah, the cases where it would easily be solved even if it's bad." Gokotai said as the tiger cubs below whimpered.
"Could it be that something terrible aside from that injury happened to Aichi-sama that's why he was unable to smile?!" Sayo and the Tantous thought otherwise as they turned to Shokudaikiri.
"We won't know yet, but let us just wait and trust what Yagen and Horikawa said." Shokudaikiri frowns and prays that it's not something serious.
~Tuesday -Morning-~
Mina and Konnosuke were inside Mina's room "Are you sure?!" Mina panics as she heard of the news from Konnosuke.
"I'm pretty sure, so do you think we should report it?" Konnosuke opens one of his eyes.
"I… I don't know…" Mina felt pained as she looks down with a grimace.
"I knew you would say that, just take time and think about it…" Konnosuke closes his eyes as he waits for Mina.
~Infirmary~
Aichi slowly opens his eyes as he looked sideways to check up on where he is right now.
"Good morning." A voice greets him, although he was still a little groggy to even recognize the owner of the voice but he did find where that owner of the voice is, it was Mikazuki.
"Mikazuki?..." Aichi tries to stand up supported by Mikazuki Aichi suddenly remembers the injury he and Mikazuki attained as he reaches for Mikazuki's hand and pulls out his sleeves to see check the injury on his shoulder.
"It's healed now don't worry about it." Mikazuki has his usual carefree smile now than yesterday where he noticed the somewhat infuriated expression he has.
"How is the others?" Aichi asked as Mikazuki laughs.
"You really ask others before you even think about yourself." Yagen said as he walks towards them.
Knowing what he might ask next "Don't worry I am fine, even the others are fine, Mina-nee helped us recovery faster." Yagen informed.
As Mikazuki understood that the area will be filled with silence "It was my first time getting injured so I was surprised that while being healed our clothes return to its normal state too." Mikazuki started a small conversation.
Aichi chuckles "But the armors does not." Seeing him smile and laugh Mikazuki and Yagen can't help but smile and also feel relief.
"Ah so that's why…" Mikazuki continued on, knowing that it would bring smile to him.
Although they were reluctant to even bring up the real question of; is he really okay with seeing blood now.
"Are you finally accustomed to seeing blood…" a voice surprised them as they all looked at the entrance it was Kiyomitsu and noticed that Tsurumaru, Taroutachi and Horikawa is with him.
Surprised at the sudden question "I don't know, but as long as my nightmare of seeing someone broken or bathing in their blood does not happen, I will be fine…" Aichi bitterly smiles "Sooner or later I will have to be prepared to see bloodshed and even mine is what I always think about and remind myself."
"Rest assured we won't do anything to make you sad." Kiyomitsu smiles as the others agrees to what he stated.
"We know you won't let that happen also." Tsurumaru grinned at Aichi.
"Well we just checked up on you and then if ever you woke up, tell you that breakfast is ready." Horikawa chimed.
"If you are too exhausted we could bring the food here and let you rest more." Taroutachi offered.
Aichi shook his head "No, I want to eat with everyone." Mikazuki and Yagen supports him as he stood up and joins them with breakfast.
~Garden –Noon-~
Right now Aichi is wearing a dark Blue checkered yukata and gray hakama as he silently listens to the busy noises of citadel while again and as always he is prohibited to work so he could recover.
When they reported the situation to the others they were also surprised in their findings and were finally enlightened at why they took so long and found that there is an enemy that showed up who gives them command.
And then finally he was again scolded by Mina to only stay put and do no work again as his injuries are different from the toudans, they can heal with divine powers faster than normal just depending on the injury they have attained, though in his case he can still be healed by divine powers but not as fast as it can affect the toudans. Although he was curious why but decided not to ask further.
Then suddenly Aichi sprung up from lying on the hallways at the veranda thinking that Mina did not say that he is not allowed to make new swords he took his notes out in his sleeves.
"Alright, today I will be making you!" Aichi stomps on his feet as he hurried to the smithing room.
~Smithing Room~
After an hour and a half of preparation Aichi prays hard for the certain Kanesada.
"I am Kasen Kanesada. I am a famous sword of the arts who loves elegance. Pleased to meet you."
Aichi freezes stiff at hearing the latter's name "Kane… sada…" Aichi slumped on the ground as he forgotten about that mistake.
It was on his notes, but then he thought maybe he did something wrong "C-can you please wait a moment?!"
The new sword was surprised at his outburst and decided to wait inside while Aichi started preparing for a new sword, and then while they wait Aichi informs Kasen of their situation as always and who is he and what is the purpose of calling onto them, but mainly right now he broke the seriousness when he said "I wanted to thank them by bringing in someone they also cherish, either within their school or their past partners in battle with their former master that they have formed a bond with."
That alone left a deep mark on Kasen as he was touched by his words "I see, then I bid you good luck." Aichi smiles as he accepts.
After a while of conversation with Kasen as they seem to be hitting it off Aichi's phone rang and it was time for the next batch.
"I'm Hachisuka Kotetsu. I'd be happy if you didn't assume I was a counterfeit." The new sword introduced himself.
Aichi slumped down on his knees "I guess it was also a failed." Kasen said noticing Aichi's expression.
"What do you mean by failed?" Hachisuka demanded an answer.
"Calm down, Calm down…" Kasen tries to ease up Hachisuka as it seemed to have offended him.
"You see this master of ours wants to do a good deed for the current swords that were earlier than us as thanks for their hard work." Kasen continues to explain for Aichi as he was still frozen stiff looking at his notes.
Understanding the reason for them being called somehow because of this "So does that mean that no one is waiting for us yet?" Somehow Hachisuka felt sad.
Aichi sprung up which surprised the two before Aichi could think of creating another batch he somehow felt cold sweat that he would be scolded by Mina and Konnosuke as he only has the privilege to do two at a month at best.
"Don't worry Hachisuka I will try and study your origin so that I may have an idea who you will be waiting for, same goes for you Kasen." Aichi smiles at the two.
"For now my knowledge about summoning… I think in a sense I don't have the rights to choose on whose swords I will summon, from my past summons they were randomly coming but some hears my prayer, same with Kasen Kanesada." He motioned to Kasen "I was originally waiting for an Izuminokami Kanesada but this is fine too as our family is getting bigger again" Aichi chuckles. "And then there is the case of Hachisuka Kotetsu which is random." He ends his explanation.
After that short explanation Aichi continued on to informs Hachisuka about their situation again and who he is.
"I think I quite get it." Hachisuka said as Aichi proceeded to the next step, with him he has his trustee meter to help him get their measurements. While also getting their measurements he informs of them about the reason of this as they were somehow eager and waiting for it.
Then finally he asks them to follow him and so they did and went outside.
~Training Hall -Afternoon-~
Aichi takes a peak at the training hall as he prepares himself for a scolding from the others not just Mina. Noticing that there is not much toudans in the area Aichi then he remembers that not much toudans oversee their training like before so it would mean that it would lessen the people scolding him.
"Aichi-sama?" Aichi jumps as he heard Horikawa's voice calling out to him immediately turning around he noticed that he was with Yagen.
"Yagen, Horikawa…" He greets the two.
As the two immediately eyed the other two with him "Oho, a newcomer, huh. I'll guide him around." Yagen offered.
When Aichi was caught off guard from sighing from relief of not being scolded Yagen reaches for his chest Aichi resulting in him wincing in pain and immediately covers his chest with both hands as it surprised Kasen and Hachisuka "That's not an elegant way to do to a lady!" Kasen panics as did Hachisuka.
"Lady?" Horikawa tries his best to keep it in while Yagen can't help but burst out laughing while the other two clearly don't understand what is happening anymore.
"Hey, what is happening here?" It was Tsurumaru who checked out what is happening as Aichi trembles in pain as he quickly reaches out for Tsurumaru's clothes as he heard him.
"Is there something I am missing here?" Tsurumaru asks as he noticed a Horikawa who is trying his best not to burst out laughing, a Yagen who is laughing, and two new swords and then remembered an in pain Aichi.
"A-Aichi-sama is something the matter?" He adds to the panic.
Tsurumaru thought of changing the location then after moving at the training hall Mina and the others noticed the two new swords who looks panicked, a crumpling in pain Aichi who is clinging to Tsurumaru, a Horikawa who is calm and a Yagen who is crying from laughing too much.
Immediately thinking something bad happened when summoning two swords before she scolds him she immediately made sure if Aichi was fine "Aichi-kun what is the matter?" Mina asked as the others rushed in worry to their side.
And then after Horikawa explains it to them Mina, the guardians, and Tsurumaru with the exclusion of Kai and Yamanbagiri started to burst out into laughing which the two new swords were thinking that maybe they have lost it.
To make things worse for their image Yagen immediately reaches for the collar of Aichi's yukata and opens it wide "Aichi-sama is injured and he is a boy." That sums is all up as the two new swords froze making Aichi blush with Yagen's action as he hurries him to close it back.
"We were deceived." The two new swords felt a betrayed at the same time.
"Well, it's kind of a normal thing here whenever he summons a sword, at first he has a hard time dealing it but gradually it's kind of cute teasing him." Yagen grins at Aichi as he blushes and pouted burying himself to Tsurumaru.
Although all of them agrees that he is cute when he is being teased "And the reason I touched his chest was because he should be recuperating instead of working." Yagen's atmosphere darkened.
"He was injured? Yet he summoned us." Kasen took notice "You would go to that extent?" Kasen meant that he would not think about himself instead he would think of others first, Hachisuka and Kasen looked at each other, now they see why they have this atmosphere around them, that although they tease him, it was because they all cared that much to each other.
"By the way I am Kasen Kanesada." Horikawa stops for a moment as he heard his smith's name.
"And I am Hachisuka Kotetsu." He introduced himself next.
"I noticed that you all refer to our master as Aichi-sama, then I will do as well." Kasen said as he slightly bowed to Aichi and so does Hachisuka.
"Alright, with two new swords I am thinking that you will be sewing batches of internal affairs outfit for them, I guess that this is fine and a good way for you to focus on recovery too." Mina understood the circumstances.
"Mina-nee can I consult you about something with Konnosuke also?" Aichi looks solemn as he speaks with Mina.
"Alright, I will meet you there later after training and I will call on Konnosuke." Mina accepts as they all continued on their separate ways.
"Alright, while Aichi-sama recovers his injury I will give you a tour of the place." Yagen said as he asks the two to follow him.
~Nightfall~
"I don't know if I am stepping out of bound but…" Kasen paused for a moment.
"You are curious about his injury right?" Yagen smiled bitterly "Well I think it won't hurt to tell."
~Aichi's Room~
"Alright Aichi, two times only, if in two time you don't manage to get him, you know the deal right?" Mina spoke in a serious tone.
"Yes, since I already did this month's summon of toudan and will do another I won't be doing the next months' too." Aichi said in affirmation to their deal.
"Glad you understand." Konnosuke said as he stands up.
"Now that you know just continue off tomorrow so you will have some rest." Mina stands up as Konnosuke follows her outside.
~Wednesday -Morning-~
While walking towards the smithing room Aichi stares at his notes with much focus leading him into accidentally bumping with Kai.
Fortunately Kai was able to notice him before they bump into each other as he stops Aichi by holding his shoulders and stopping him from moving forward.
Surprised at the sensation as if he was pushed by someone Aichi panics and looks up as he froze for a moment, panicking more inside while on the outside he was frozen stiff as he noticed it was Kai in front of him and holding his shoulders.
"Hey, Hey, Hey… and so early in the morning." Miwa grinned as he was next to Kai, noticing a good moment he decided to leave the two.
Kai sighs as Miwa left the two of them "Be careful when you are walking." Kai looked straight at him as Aichi felt hotter in his face.
Adding to the fact that unlike before he is cold and stoic but now because of the time spent with them Kai gradually became warmer, approachable and his facial expression changes unlike before, sometimes smiling but only a tiny bit, still the changes can be seen.
Aichi nodded to his words as Kai left the area and followed Miwa to the training hall, while Aichi proceeded to the smithing room as he felt his face hotter than before.
~Smithing Room~
Mina and Konnosuke helped him out with a new recipe and time for creating a new type of Uchigatana the rare 3 type of Uchigatana, meaning this will be his first time going to be able to obtain it.
When Aichi prepared the materials earlier and wait for the time he was sewing mostly only sewing, thankfully he was able to finish a first batch for them and then will continue later after summoning this new sword.
That is if he is going to be lucky enough to get him as he finishes the preparation Aichi closes his eyes as the image of Kai before he got here flashes from his mind, surprised at the sudden thought he flinches and opens his eyes as he panics and once again blushes but quickly shielded it from the bright light.
"...I am Ookurikara. I don't have much to talk about. Because I don't intend on getting friendly."
Aichi froze as he once again failed because of his own thoughts. Kneeling down Aichi stares again at his notes thinking "No, it wasn't wrong I did it right, I was the one who made it fail." By fail meaning failing to call out the right one, although it could be just that is was random case again, as he thought of positive.
But then "Ookurikara…?" Aichi repeated the name of the new toudan, rummaging through his notes somehow Aichi thought that if he was even going to have a random one why didn't it just be a Samonji he sighs.
"Will you please wait a while?" Ookurikara clicks his tongue as he stands by on the corner Aichi pointed out to him as Aichi started on the new sword on the other hand Ookurikara silently watches and an interval of looking at his hands and at him.
As Aichi finishes the preparation and readies the timer for three hours and then he proceeded to sit in front of Ookurikara and explains.
~Training hall~
Aichi knows the best toudans to take care of him and one of them is over here "Shokudaikiri." Aichi calls out as the attention of everyone moved to him.
"Shokudaikiri Mitsutada?" Ookurikara asked whereas Aichi nodded in affirmation as they proceeded to the training hall.
"Oh, Aichi-sama who is this new sword?" Mutsunokami closes in as did Midare, noticing the crowd Mina walks towards them.
"Somehow I can see that you got a random." Mina smiles raising a brow to Aichi as if to remind him that he only has one chance left.
Aichi nervously laughs as he proceeded to introduce the new sword "This is Ookurikara, and Shokudaikiri I have a favor!" he immediately turns to him as he waits for him to continue "I will be leaving him in your care as I finish their clothes!"
Shokudaikiri chuckles "I see I see, that is alright, I will take care of him."
Ookurikara looks with an uninterested eyes and aura "Feels like deja vu…" Miwa and Mina spoke at the same time.
"Thanks!" Aichi thanked as he hurriedly leaves the area and proceeded to go to his room.
"He moves all too well for someone who is injured." Mutsunokami noticed the still cheery Aichi.
"Well it is Aichi-sama after all." Midare noted.
"To be honest, I don't even know if we should be even thankful or what." Shokudaikiri mentioned.
"Somehow I kind of agree." Mutsunokami and Midare both nervously laughed as they proceeded to introduce themselves to the new sword.
