Chapter 59: Back to school…

~Friday –Morning at the Garden-~

Still having his normal carefree smile while heaving tea at the veranda of the garden, slowly felling uncomfortable "Why are you all staring at me…" still not losing his smile, though right now he felt a sweat stream down his face as all the toudans, excluding Ookurikara and from time to time Souza is keeping an eye on him.

"That's because somehow, we have noticed that, whenever something happens to Aichi-sama you are always there!" Kiyomitsu inches closer while waiting for his response everyone nodded at his statement agreeing to him.

"You sometimes surprise us though, you mostly either pop up or already knows what to do." Tsurumaru raises a brow as he gives off a smile the others agreeing to him too.

"And you always gives off hints that you already know what's happening to him." Shokudaikiri added which made everyone agrees, though from all those statements the five new toudans doesn't understand all of those since they are just new and decided only to listen.

Finally having the chance to answer "I'm just that observant, although sometimes I get it wrong…" Mikazuki's smile somehow drops a little, which it's also somewhat true about the observant thing and yes he sometimes does get it wrong.

Though as he sinks all those statements in Mikazuki just widens his eyes in surprise blinking his eyes twice as if not noticing it himself, tilting his head a little to the side Midare added something that somewhat what they think could be plausible.

"Could it be the power of being a rank 5 Touken Danshi!" the Tantous eye's glitter as they admire Mikazuki.

At that point Mikazuki can't help but start to be amused as he lets out a small chuckle at what they all could notice and think of, thinking to himself that he may have really has taken things too far to make them think of those things, though it's not like he can help it though.

Since Konnosuke told them before to keep it a secret he could only say "An old man like me has-" he stopped mid-sentence with a surprised look on his face while he stares off to the tea cup he is holding, the others noticing the reactions waits for what will happen next.

Until Yagen came out to the balcony of Aichi's room "Oi! Everyone!" as he calls out their attention as he smiles with a somewhat residual of tears in his eyes he waves to them, noticing that everyone noticed him his smile grew larger as he hurries down the stairs and after some running came to the garden with a good news "Aichi-sama has woken up!"

Completely forgetting about Mikazuki only Souza and Ookurikara has noticed and remembered about Mikazuki, clarifying that their claims to him were right. As they swarm Yagen with question they notice that Mikazuki's smiles softens and warms up unlike his normal smile that he normally wore.

~A little while later –Aichi's Room-~

Mina and Konnosuke strictly told all the toudans to stay put and do not swarm his room so that he could rest but Mina and Konnosuke has decided to give a privilege to come to his room and they are the six toudans that he is with and the ones that backed them up.

While Aichi sits at his bed he stares at the six in front of him, with no one not even daring look at him, even Mikazuki is reluctant to look at him which he wasn't used to and is surprised.

When he was about to speak and call out their name Tsurumaru decided to start "When I successfully struck the enemy…" He started as he clenched his hakama "Somehow I don't know why, but it felt great pleasure that I was able to avenge you."

Mikazuki bits his lips "I was the same, my mind could only think of revenge and nothing else." He closes his eyes and slowly shook his head from left to right.

"We lost sight of you. What we have done to avenge you was also the one of the reason of how we forgot about you." Nikkari laments.

"Somehow seeing you like that, something just snapped, and we don't know any more what had happened after." Mutsunokami said.

"We were blinded by our anger, forgetting out real task, and that is to protect you…" Horikawa closes his eyes.

"I thought when we recovered ourselves if this is what also Sayosuke feels, as swords we couldn't do anything much but now it's different." Yagen wants to say more but decided not to.

As they all finishes what they say, they all clenches their hands as they say their Sorry in unison which surprised Aichi at the sudden apology and their loud voice while awaiting for any words that he would say to them.

Aichi could only chuckle surprising them "To be honest though, I felt loved…" The six toudans finally made eye contact with him because of the surprising thing he said as always he keep surprising them.

Which he decided to continue as he wore a smile when they finally look at him "I was really happy at that time, I didn't think that you were neglecting me or forgetting about me, what I thought at that time was because it was your enemy and you need to something about it … and also 'Ah I see, so they truly care about me.' Is what I thought at that time, although I knew it was wrong to think of that since you six were not yourself but, it made me truly happy that you think about me enough to avenge me."

Aichi smiles at them as a tear almost fell down "This is tears of joy don't worry…" he explains to them especially to Tsurumaru because of his promise "I'm sorry for that…"

"It's not your fault…" Mikazuki warmly and softly smiles at him, as once again he was surprised at what he truly feels.

Aichi smiles back "Though I wonder if the others would feel the same."

"Everyone is the same!" it was Tsurumaru who hastily responded to him "I know that it's not just us but everyone is."

"I agree, everyone's faces when they saw you being carried by Tsurumaru-san covered in blood, we knew in that instant that they felt the same as us." Horikawa added.

"It was Konnosuke who helped us calm down and not make things worse." Nikkari gave out an info to Aichi which surprised him "He told us not to panic, because it will only make you sad." He smiles which surprised him at the same time touched him.

"You are already hurt, we don't want you to keep thinking of us who were in a very bad state, and instead we decided to be positive so we could also spread positivity." Mutsunokami grins ear to ear.

"Thank you Yagen, Nikkari, Horikawa, Mutsunokami, Tsurumaru, and Mikazuki." As the stiff atmosphere has warms up they made a heartily talk with everyone trying to at least make both themselves and Aichi feel better.

But then "Speaking of schools…" Yagen placed a hand on his chin "Have you finished your summer vacation homework?"

Aichi flinches as he looks at the bulletin board near his table as it says 'Only a few more to finish your assignments!' his own notes says as he released cold sweats "I haven't finished it and school starts in three days!" the toudans can't help but laugh at their master's forgetfulness and clumsiness, filling the whole room with laughter once again.

As they all started to stand up "We will let the ones in charge for food to bring food here, in the meanwhile you can finish your homework." Tsurumaru wave's goodbye as he and the others started leaving the room.

"We will leave you to concentrate, the treatment for your arm is due later so I will come back at that time." Yagen too left.

As Mikazuki only smiled back at him and left the room as he also smiles back to him. In Mikazuki's mind "You just keep surprising me."

~Aichi's Room -Afternoon-~

Mina and Konnosuke after checking up Aichi's shoulder asked in curiosity of why there were so many things on the top of his table as he looks at the notes and materials "Oh, I'm finishing up my homework."

"W-what you haven't finished it yet?!" Konnosuke and Mina both said in surprise.

"W-well, there were so much things going on, and thankfully the shoulder that I use for writing isn't the one that is injured, so with the free time I have left I decided to finish what is supposed to have been done long ago…" Aichi sighs.

"So how much more." Mina asks as she looks at the homework that Aichi mentioned that is on top of his table.

"If everything went smoothly I think I might have been able to have finished it." Aichi smiled but his brows were into a frown.

"What do you mean?" Mina is bewildered at what he meant.

"Oh… uhm… you see, it's not that I don't like them visiting me, and then telling me stories, and then checking up on me, but I wished that I could have finished this earlier than before so that I would have been able to focus on them, so that I can listen to their stories without getting distracted by my unfinished homework." He sighs as he finished explaining.

Mina and Konnosuke thought at their minds "Aichi you really are something to worry about listening to them than worrying about your homework…" after that the two both sighs.

"Alright, up until you finish that homework of yours, no one is allowed to come inside! Aside from the ones who will bring food and like Yagen who checks up on you!" Mina smiles as an ominous aura is leaking from her which made Konnosuke and Aichi flinch in terror.

~Garden~

Mina called all the toudans at the garden since most of them is already there she decided to ask the others present in the garden to call out to the others to assemble.

When all the toudans have all assembled, Ookurikara couldn't care less but is dragged by Shokudaikiri and can't get away, though Souza seems a little alarmed at the ominous aura as everyone flinched when she released all of it at once.

Even making Aichi flinch inside his room as he felt the ominous aura "Is she scolding someone…" He said to himself as he got distracted.

Mina coughs "Alright!" She started getting their attention "All of you are forbidden to enter Aichi's room until Monday!" cue in 'EHHH!' from all the toudans which you already know who are excluded and who are saying it.

"Aichi-kun is finishing his homework, and I won't let Aichi-kun get distracted, only those who are given permission to come in can come in!" Mina calms down the aura but her expression says otherwise.

"Before you go in to his room be sure to tell me that you are going, if not…" Mina need not say the word only her aura was enough for everyone to understand what she meant.

But then her aura completely changes and reverts back to normal "Oh yeah, I haven't told Aichi-kun about this but…" She placed a hand on her cheek "But I think it will be advisable for Aichi-kun to be accompanied by toudans to and from school whenever he comes and goes for security measures, since the enemy seems to be really dead set on him." All of their expression crumpled in annoyance remembering what Aichi has to experience upon his hands.

"So I will let Aichi-kun decide on the roster of Sword Warriors to accompany him, but I will suggest to minimize it to only three a day, if he decided to go to Card Capital then so be it… Also I don't think you will need to be there the whole time since I know the enemy is not that careless to make a scene where he knows he is at a disadvantage."

"Come to think of it, he did scare away all the other people around the area." Nikkari tries to remember the events.

"Ye' he also said that the nuisance are gone, the time that there were no other people around when they ran away from fright." Mutsunokami added which Nikkari finally remembers.

"And he also said 'they won't detect and know as long as I break you and take you', so he was cautious." Mikazuki finished as they all stopped to think for a moment.

"Well, in any case, I will talk about this to Aichi-kun if he ever gets his homework done." Mina's facial expression turned serious "All I ask is that if ever there is an enemy, do everything you have to protect yourselves and Aichi-kun, while running away! Do not engage in fights wait for reinforcements!" Everyone was surprised at what Mina said, though a certain Uchigatana somehow did not like the word running away.

"I'll fight on my own!" Ookurikara said within the crowds.

Mina knew that he would respond "Sure, as long as the other two does their job you could be a fine bait." Mina tries the opposite to Ookurikara, as she knows this type of person will be very difficult to handle which greatly surprised the others from what she said.

"M-Mina-nee?!" Shokudaikiri is the one that is most surprised along with Tsurumaru.

"If he won't listen that's the easiest and fastest way no? Even if Aichi-kun doesn't want to, at least keep in mind to protect him this time." Mina doesn't want to be reminded of the events as she decided to leave the area making the others gulp and swallow their words upon hearing her last statement.

With silence eating up the whole atmosphere their expression either unpleased or worried as they either glance or look up at Aichi's room and with perfect timing, they notice a movement from his door, there goes it slide as it showed up Aichi sigh while walking to the balcony.

"Will I ever finish it on time…" He spoke to himself as he sighs deeply then he felt something or someone's stare, although he felt that it's not dangerous he is still surprised at it, looking a little alarmed the toudans themselves felt alarmed as Aichi looks at his surrounding, with much thought he decided to look down below as he jumps in surprise noticing that all of the toudans are now looking at him, with them showing a sweat drop at this reaction thinking that it was them that made him fluster.

"W-what are you all doing there?" Although it was really not that weird to see them there at the garden, what made him thought twice is why they were aligned in a formation, much like whenever they were called for announcements and such, but when he noticed the sheepish looks from them as they looked away from his question, he remembered the ominous aura that he felt, thinking that it may have been Mina who has let it out from scolding someone "Were… all of you scolded by her?"

Nervous laughs came from the others, now its Aichi's turn to show a sweat drop since his hunch was right.

Silence once again filled the area but someone has decided to speak up "Are you taking a break?" it was Mikazuki, who surprised the others.

"Mm…" Aichi nodded as he smiled to him.

"I see, good luck with your homework then." Mikazuki said as he sat back to the veranda where he always were. Seeing this they thought that they should continue to what they were previously doing with before saying goodbye to Aichi and bidding him also good luck for him to finish his homework earlier, said by the Tantous is so that they could play with him again.

~Sunday Afternoon –Aichi's Room-~

Looking at all his homework and materials that is on top of his table, Aichi's eyes glimmered and shined as he raised one of his so called vacation homework "F-… FINALLY!" Aichi shouted with all his might as the toudans that were leisurely spending their days at the garden all heard his shout of delight making them also feel the same delight he is feeling.

At the right timing "Aichi-kun, I'm coming in." Mina informed of him as she enters the room "Are you finally finished?" She asks as she walks towards him.

Seeing Mina come in he greeted her as he answered "Y-yes!" with a grin from ear to ear.

"Too bad, if you finished this earlier, you would have extra time to be with the others before school starts again, tomorrow." Mina said making Aichi froze "Ah, sorry my bad, I was partly cause of this for training you non-stop."

"I-it's fine." Aichi said standing up from his seat cleaning up the materials from his desks and then placing it inside his bag.

"So Aichi-kun, the reason I was here…" Mina started.

Before Aichi cutting in "By the way, I don't see Konnosuke with you this past days…" Aichi noticed since he wasn't used to seeing only Mina enter his room, usually the two of them visits him together.

"Oh, well, I decided to stay and keep you up in check, so Konnosuke volunteered to report and leave for a while." Mina answered noticing the sad look from Aichi, it seems he remembers the incident and tries to change the topic she thought "So, about why I came here." Mina started again since there was no response from Aichi, it seems it is finally okay to speak about it.

"I was going to propose about Sword Warriors to accompany you when you go back and forth school." Mina finished as she noticed a surprised reaction from him and then turning to her as if saying to continue.

"You see, since we don't know what the enemy's plan is, so me and Konnosuke has decided to let toudans accompany you when you are going to school and when you are going home from school, we won't let them stay there for a long while and will only come pick you up since we know the enemy isn't that careless to even think of attacking you during class. It is also to keep you safe if you ever decide to go to Card Capital or go to other places." Mina paused as Aichi just continued to stare at her. "I also told them to wait for reinforcement when you call for one and do not engage in battle and just keep on protecting themselves and you while you guys hastily retreats." Mina stops noticing the bitter expression from him.

Moving on and changing the topic "So I will leave the roster to you, but I decided to make a group consisting of three toudans and then one that will consist of four but then I thought of your wound so I decided to let Yagen come every time making four in a group." Mina noticed Aichi's nod although she remembers his sad expression thankfully she has finished what she wanted to say.

"Alright." Aichi answered.

"Mmh…" Was what Mina could only answer.

~Downstairs –Evening-~

Mina called in the others as she notifies them that Aichi has finally decided on the roster of the toudans who will accompany him to his school every day, posting the roster on the bulletin board down the stair where Aichi's room is, they all look for their names of who will be with them, though one particular team caught their attention.

"Alright, Everyone, here is the roster, there are seven teams in total, for five days the first five in the roster will accompany Aichi-kun then the two left team will start the roster next week and will be next and then start from the beginning after the two teams have finished! If Aichi-kun decides to go out on Saturday or Sunday's then the two left roster of team will continue on! Did everyone understand?" Mina explained the roster for the ones that will accompany Aichi.

"Yes!" Everyone answered.

"I guess Aichi-sama knew that it would be bad if these three aren't with each other." It was Kasen who noted it which he in turn earned a click of the tongue from a certain Uchigatana and Kasen knew who it came from "If you got to say something, then say it!" He turns around to the said person.

The certain Uchigatana, Ookurikara was only dragged by Shokudaikiri hence when Mina finishes her announcement, which he thinks is useless for him anyways, he decided to leave the area and be on with it. Earning a sigh from Tsurumaru and Shokudaikiri.

"Sorry about that…" Shokudaikiri apologizes on behalf of Ookurikara.

"No, its fine, you don't have to." Mina is somehow used to it and didn't think much about it. "So you know who will be first tomorrow right?"

"Yes!" Everyone answered.

"By the way Yagen, although it says everyday can choose to come or not, whenever you think it's necessary or when you feel you want to come you can join or not." Mina told Yagen.

"I see, I have a choice then." Yagen thinks for a while for a reason why.

"I initially really wanted to let you come with him every day to keep a look out on his wound…" Mina started and with a pause Yagen decided to cut in.

"It's Aichi-sama that said decided that right?" Yagen smiles somewhat understanding his plan.

"Yes… he mentioned that it won't be necessary since with just the ointment you put on his wound he knows that it will be fine, so if you want to join or if he tells you that he feels something funny he will immediately contact you through the bell for help." Mina finished.

"I see…" Yagen's smile didn't leave on his face after he left the area.

~-Monday- On the way to school~

"Ooohhh!" Yasusada and Imanotsurugi wowed "Aichi-sama they are wearing the same clothes as you!" Imanotsurugi said as he and Yasusada looks at the other students though Kiyomitsu and Aichi certainly notices the gaze back to them while the two doesn't.

"I'm really not used to this…" Aichi hangs his head down from shyness from all the eyes that are peering at them.

"This is kind of nice to be noticed like this." Kiyomitsu smiles at the attention they are getting at.

~-Tuesday- On the way to school ~

Like a proud guard Hasebe walks forward Aichi while Nikkari and Midare are beside him, while Midare looks interested Nikkari was the same with his usual expression.

"Aichi-sama! Is this the school that you mentioned?! They look the same as us Awataguchi having same clothes coming from the same school!" Midare's eye sparkle as he noticed the skirts from the female students "Aichi-sama!"

"Y-yes…" Aichi is surprised at the sudden call.

"Can you make me a skirt too?!" Midare closes in as he tries to get Aichi to agree.

"I'll try my best…" Aichi answered as Midare jumps in delight.

~-Wednesday- On the way to school ~

The female students that Aichi and the others passed through continuously stares at them seeing the three toudans with him, they swoon and let their hearts out through their eyes as they fantasize and ogle at the sight in front of them, a silent and mysterious looking type, a cool and well-built man, and a stoic hotheaded one.

By hot headed it was because in front of Aichi and Tsurumaru, there is Shokudaikiri walking with Ookurikara trying his best not to let him get away as Tsurumaru keeps a look out beside Aichi…
