Chapter 64: A battle at Card Capital
~On their way to school~
Souza even Kasen were mesmerized at the new and unimaginable things that they are seeing for the first time while Sayo and Yagen helps them point out to the things they know and if do not know they will ask Aichi for details regarding it, Kasen especially has more questions, while Souza listens.
Although Aichi has been wearing a smile on his face but when they arrive near the school building, his smile quickly disappears and turns into a frown especially when he noticed a fairly large amount of female students waiting for them near the gate, making him stop from his tracks "I think this is near enough, you should go back now, I will give you a tour around town later if you want to." Before Aichi can start sprinting towards the school gate.
"Yo! Aichi!" A familiar voice called out to them.
Looking for the owner of the voice "M-Miwa-kun, and Kai-kun?!" Surprised Aichi can't help but raise his voice as he hastily covers his mouth because of it looking around for people who will notice them because of him, he sighs after knowing that no one were bothered or has taken notice of it.
It was of course Miwa who called out to them and the reaction he made, made Miwa and Kai curious looking into each other "Uhm… Just wanted to say that we will be coming over after school, since you don't come to the Card Capital for quite a while we thought that instead of mailing you, we would just come to meet you."
Closing in a little "And we also came here to see with our own eyes what we about heard lots of female student, even in our school, gossiping around a blue haired kid who has different chaperones with him every day to take him to school and also pick him up." Aichi's eyes widen which Miwa and Kai can firmly see his reaction.
Miwa somehow is reluctant to continue to speak but tries to study why he has those reaction as he shrugs after "We actually had a guess but of course it could be anyone."
"It was until a few gossiping girls said a specific trio that they almost caught, and the definition of what the trio looks like are clearly, Shokudaikiri, Tsurumaru, and Ookurikara." This time it was Kai who spoke to join in the conversation noticing the movement of Aichi's eyes that looked away to them Kai and Miwa's eyes met.
"So with that in mind and the fact that we want to relay the message personally, we can't help but check it up." Miwa laughs but he tries to tone it down so that it won't be noticeable that they were wary of him.
But clearly Aichi's mood didn't change as he still has a frown on his face just remembering what had happened to the three.
"I see." On the other hand he too doesn't want them to notice it "Then are you all going to head there straight or will you guys be meeting up somewhere." Aichi asked this time he has a smile on his face but his brows were slanting downwards.
"Nah, we are just going to head straight there at the citadel." Miwa answered.
"Is that so… well, I'll be heading off then, I'll see you later at the citadel." Without even waiting for their goodbyes and take cares Aichi sprinted off to the gate where he noticed the girls that were waiting for him, but didn't notice him coming in.
"Uwah… what just happened." Miwa who is previously looking at Aichi's traces where he left turns back to the four looking for an answer.
"I think one of our hunches are right." Yagen spoke out a clearly confusing answer but it means that it has been awhile that's making him act like that.
"Hunch?" Miwa asked in curiosity also for a clear answer.
"Ever since the incident on Wednesday, we have noticed that on the next day, Aichi-sama wasn't feeling comfortable at the fact that we are joining him in going and picking him up to his school." Yagen answered.
"I'm guessing it's because of the attention that he is getting." Miwa said placing a hand to his chin.
"He doesn't like standing out but he won't give out that kind of expression." Kai spoke making Miwa and Yagen surprised, though he was right and the two agreed, he knows him well the two both thought.
"It's one of those lines again…" Kai spoke as the two only stared at him "It's my fault." The two sighed.
"He must have blamed himself about what happened to the three." Yagen finally got his answer.
"He did stop us to come near to the entrance." Kasen joins in the conversation.
"And Aichi-sama looks uncomfortable when he said his goodbye." Sayo frowns while Souza pats his head.
"It's clear that he wants us to not experience it." Souza spoke which surprised Kasen and Yagen.
Finally getting their answer the five sighs "If you pick-up Aichi later, tell them that we are going to meet at Card Capital instead." Miwa wave's goodbye as the two finally left.
"Miwa sure is quick to have a plan…" Yagen somehow commented.
"That is why Mina-nee said that he likes to play mind games." Sayo added.
"Is he…?" Kasen started but stops what he is going to say.
Btu Yagen understood what he wanted so say "No, don't worry he is not that kind, but he is the type that likes interesting things." Yagen tries to think of how to describe Miwa.
"Or finds something exciting." Sayo added.
"Like Tsurumaru?" Kasen thought.
"I think in some same wavelength." Souza too.
"I don't know but you will have more time to understand." Yagen sweat drops "Let's head back and return now."
The three nodded as they started leaving before they catch the crowd's attention.
~Back at the Citadel~
When they successfully went back to the citadel, they hurriedly reported to Kon and Mina regarding what they have found out.
"I see, gather everyone up, I have something to tell all of you too." Yagen, Souza, Sayo, and Kasen nodded as they spread out to tell the others about a meeting.
~After School~
Looking at the window outside for any girls incoming, Aichi hastily prepares for his things so that he can hurry and wait for the four to arrive to leave immediately after because there might be an onslaught of female students again.
"Yo! Aichi, are you going to Card Capital?" Izaki called out to Aichi.
"You keep going ahead so fast, but now we will drag you to go to the Card Capital!" Morikawa and Izaki hurries to grab Aichi's hand but unfortunately Aichi was faster successfully getting away from them.
"S-sorry Morikawa-kun, Izaki-kun, but I have to go to back early." Aichi didn't waste any more time than he can, he knows what those girls can do and they can turn things around, so with that in mind he hurries down to meet up with them instead.
With luck, a little farther away Aichi can already see them coming towards the school, as he picks up the phase, Yagen clearly knows that this will clearly irritate his injury with that he decided to run and meet up with him.
"Aichi-sama you shouldn't be running! Your injury will hurt again if not careful." Yagen scolds.
"I… I'm sorry but I just want to get away from here faster…" Aichi pants looking back at the crowd if someone has noticed.
With this their hunches were clearly right just from his wording "By the way, Aichi-sama, those two guys we met up earlier, they wanted to relay a message that they won't be going straight back to the citadel but instead go to Card Capital." Kasen spoke up.
"They asked if you wanted to go meet up there, but from how they said it, it is as if they require of you to come." Souza added which somehow surprises Aichi.
Looking back to them Aichi slowly returns to his normal breathing "I see… it's a Saturday tomorrow so I think it will be fine."
~Card Capital~
The door to the Card Capital opens up surprising the crowd inside "I thought you were hurrying back!?" Morikawa shouted even pointing towards him as if he was guilty of something.
Aichi could only laugh meekly at him but Sayo who still hasn't warmed up to Morikawa frowns more than ever at the sight of him and just hearing his loud voice, Souza has to tightly clench Sayo's hands as support while Aichi pats his head to calm him down a little.
"Aichi-sama…" Sayo looks at Aichi wherein he only gave him a light smile, with this Sayo calms down a little, Souza can't help but accept that he helps Sayo in any way he can lowering his guard.
"Miwa-kun said that they will meet up here and told me to come." Aichi-kun said while Yagen pointed to Souza and Kasen to take a sit while Aichi talks with his friends.
"So if they ask you to come, you will come…" Izaki sweat drops, Aichi didn't say anymore and just walked up to them laughing nervously.
"Alright Aichi! Since you have come, this only means that we should fight!" Morikawa rummages for something in his pocket.
"Fight?" Kasen spoke in bewilderment with him and Souza looking at Yagen who awaits his move and noticed their look so he gave a seemingly nothing to worry about face to them.
When Morikawa has successfully pulled out whatever he was rummaging in his pocket "Eh?" Kasen and Souza who were already half way to standing up were very much dumbfounded at what they have found out.
"Nii-sama?" Sayo asks in curiosity at the sudden action, what Morikawa was rummaging in his pockets were his deck.
Kasen coughs then made himself be seated as did Souza which made Aichi smile at their concern "There is no such thing as fighting in this era unlike in our eras." Yagen assures the two which only made the two sigh.
"Well Miwa did say that they will be meeting us up here with Kamui so while waiting you should just have fun for a while." Misaki smiles helping him from the two. Thankfully Izaki can understand that they have something planned together that is why he is here on the other hand Morikawa might or might not understand about it.
"It's been a while that you have visited here, usually you always come here every day… that is before… summer… vacation" Shin frowned and puffs a little and slowed down on his words but then continued normally "So why not play for a while." Shin added while motioning at the Standing Fight Tables he is next to.
Aichi looks at Yagen to ask for some kind of permission "Why not play for a while, you love this game right, besides Mina-nee said to accompany you anywhere after school if you come here or anywhere?" which Yagen answers with a smile, Aichi nods as he smiles back and then started playing with Morikawa and Izaki.
As the fight starts Yagen decided to stand up to watch the match and when it was Aichi's turn to ride a grade 3 with a full spot on his rear guards on the other hand Morikawa has only his grade 3 vanguard with no rear guards "He still doesn't learn to balance his deck huh…" Yagen commented.
"Even though I try to tell him that he will just say…" Izaki was cut off by Morikawa.
"T-the! THE! Stars might have been not going along with my luck." Morikawa laughs it off but Aichi decided to finish off the match with him ending up at winning.
"It's always about luck and such…" Yagen sighs with Izaki laughing nervously walking back to the table where Sayo, Souza, and Kasen are.
"Is this the supposed game that Aichi-sama likes to play?" Kasen asks which Yagen nodded to.
"He also smiles naturally while playing that game." Souza and Kasen are somehow not familiar with this new sight.
"This is Aichi-sama's normal life…" Yagen loses a bit of his smile and paused halfway.
Which Sayo continued for him "If he didn't became a Saniwa." his voice became distant making the three look at each other as they think about possibilities of what might happen to them too if this present they have turns out differently.
Unbeknownst to them outside danger was already lurking once again "So this is where they usually passes out time." Ren chuckles as he watches from above a building. "Should we head in?" Ren tilts his head upwards looking back at the cloaked man behind him.
"Have fun then, you know what to do, and do what you want to do." The cloaked man hides himself from the shadow with Ren forming a smile on his face coming down to the said place fully mastering the talismans with its help to come down.
But with luck has it "Ren?!" Kai and Miwa were already at the front door of the shop.
"Kai…" Ren's sinister smile showed making Miwa shiver at the sight of it "I wasn't even able to read your presence, does that mean that someone might have placed a protective charm to you all?"
From inside Aichi and the toudans felt the sinister aura coming from the outside as they all turned around to check Aichi's eyes widen at the sight of Ren in front.
Not thinking twice and wait for their conversation to end Ren went inside the shop as Kai and Miwa follows suit behind.
Looking around the whole shop "I see a little Saniwa with four Sword Warriors." He tilts his head to the side which surprises Misaki, Kai, Miwa, and especially Aichi upon hearing the terms that only they could know.
"Then I can guess that all team Q4 are guardians with him included?" Ren looks back at Kai and laughs in a cold tone making Misaki ran to shield Shin, while the toudans readies themselves and ran in front of Aichi to form a wall.
And with their reaction it just made things more obvious making him laugh more loudly than before "Are you sure you should be that alert with other people here?" he raised a brow but still with a smile on his face.
"You know we actually planned to not let other people here so that they wouldn't find out, it would be bad if we get found out our play time will be over." Ren shrugs as he walks towards the cash register where Tenchou Dairi is continuously hissing at him puffing out "We only allowed those who knows about the fight for history or something you call it, we only allowed them so it won't be that suspicious enough." He points at Izaki and Morikawa then to Miwa "Although I didn't think you would be one as well, and a guardian at that."
"How did you found out that we were meeting up here?" Kai asked.
"And how did you found out about this place!" Miwa added.
Slowly walking towards where Aichi is next he places a finger on top of his lips "It won't be fun if I tell you." He smiles at Aichi.
"How much do you know?!" Yagen shouted.
He stopped "Just the right amount." Ren showed up a talisman.
"It's black!" Kasen shouted.
"It's a pretty color right?" after he finished his words Ren throws three talisman that shuts the door off.
"Seriously though, we have tried so many times, at a certain park, in a battle field, but why not try with a different battle?" Ren pulls out a deck "How about we try a vanguard fight?"
Yagen slowly moves his hands forward to call out his swords form "Yagen wait!" Aichi stops him from doing so.
"But!" Yagen on the other hand disagrees.
"There is no History Retrograding Force so there is no need." Aichi said that made Yagen and the others return to their normal position.
"So it listens to you." Ren mused.
Not liking one bit about what Ren said "They are not things!" Aichi retorted back in anger.
"Why? Whether you look at other perspective they are still swords who you only gave them human form." Ren tries to get on Aichi's mind knowing what to play and it is certainly working much to his amusement.
"Aichi-sama, its fine." Yagen tries to calm him down as the four can't help but call out their sword forms.
"Why would you need those swords anyway, it's not like all of them want to come back to the battle field, or make them remember their bitter past." Ren showed a pitied face but quickly changed into mocking continuing to get on Aichi's nerves.
Aichi readies his talisman out of anger making Yagen click his tongue thankfully "It will be our decision regarding that matter." Souza spoke up waking up Aichi.
"Souza…" Aichi muttered.
"And I do say that if we were to end up with someone like you, I would have wished many times as I can to have a second chance to be brought by him!" Souza charges forward slicing up a History Retrograding Force swords before it would show itself up.
"Souza…" Aichi smiles that finally Souza has accepted him but then "An Enemy sword?" Misaki, Kai, and Miwa looks for a portal.
"Insolent fellow, I for one would like to thank the gods that I was brought up by someone like him." Kasen too moved forward slashing an enemy sword "For someone who doesn't know anything, should just keep quiet." Ren glared at Kasen from his words.
"So you have a backup plan." Yagen finished summoning his sword form as he slashed a talisman above "So you were summoning it with that." They finally found the spatial portal that is summoning the History Retrograding Force.
"It's fairly useful for things such as this." Ren places another talisman to complete the formation of the talisman. "You call them it as well."
"Die!" Sayo slashes forward to Ren sadly he has a barrier up.
"That's because they have no soul!" Yagen jumps adding additional force to Sayo's attack.
"W-what is going on?!" Izaki starts to panic.
But on the other hand, it seems Morikawa is enjoying it.
"Will someone please knock him out…" An annoyed Miwa said making Izaki lose his panic and nervously laugh because of Morikawa.
"I thought you said you would only be fighting with Vanguard?" Kai spoke in anger.
"I did say to try with a Vanguard Fight, but I didn't say that I have others with me." Ren laughs.
Miwa and Kai grumbled in anger that only made Ren's laugh intensify.
"This place is too suffocating, but I can't help it, if this fight gets out, they will surely find out." Ren calls out the other enemies.
"So the plan is to catch us in one place?" Misaki spoke which Ren only smiled to.
"2 Tachis, 2 Uchigatana, 3 Tantous and 1 Wakizashi." Yagen scouted as the enemy successfully manifested.
"If we haven't defeated the other two there would have been 10 of them." Kasen counted.
"Sorry but I will only be able to go for support." Aichi sets up a barrier to Kai and Miwa at the door while he pushes the others to the far back of the shop where he sets up a barrier for them.
"I'm sorry we can't help yet Aichi…" Misaki frowns for her helplessness as did Kai and Miwa.
"It's fine Misaki-san, we will take care of it!" Aichi stands guard in front of them. "Aren't we going to settle this in Vanguard?!" Aichi shouted.
"I don't think it's necessary, you will be too weak to defeat me." Ren laughs for a moment.
"If we beat as a Saniwa, will you give me a chance to prove you wrong in Cardfight?" Aichi is in his serious mode.
"Don't get carried away… do you think these are the only ones I have brought with me?" Ren smiles and pointed at a part on his shoulder "How is that injury of yours? It was my portal that made those other two showed up."
Aichi froze at remembering the events, making Yagen annoyed at his words he looks back at Aichi "I don't care about myself, but because of you, you hurt them more!" Aichi throws a talisman to the enemy Tachi and Uchigatana in a blink of an eye as it successfully pierced it with Ice propertied talismans defeating the four enemy, surprising everyone in the shop.
But the portal that summons the History Retrograding Force is still open, this time 4 Wakizashi came down.
"You surprised me there, hmm… let's see, how about we fight while they fight?" Ren proposed making Aichi ready his talismans "This time I meant in a card battle." Ren slowly shakes his deck implying that he meant with Cardfight.
"How can I trust you?" Aichi raises a set of talisman while the four toudans hasn't move an inch.
Ren drops down his set of talisman on the ground "You certainly have piqued my interest as a Saniwa, so let us see if you have certainly improved in this area as well?"
"How can we be so sure if you still have no talismans left?" Yagen spoke as the barrier in front disappears slowly moving towards Yagen surprising everyone at what he did next.
Ren purposely came close to Yagen's blade "Is this enough?" Ren smiles without flinching an eye.
The four toudans can't move too much because of the reason that the area is very small that if they move too much they will tarnish the whole area, which they are trying to prevent, property damage which they would be paying for.
"Aichi-sama you will ran out of talisman if you continue, we will carefully move about the area and minimize damage." Yagen steps up first to engage in battle, jumping backward and ran towards a table using it as a stand then jumps from it turning around to step on the ceiling he kicks it to gain force to slash two enemies successfully defeating it.
"W-woah!?" Morikawa and Izaki wowed.
"S-such speed and balance…" Miwa watches "This will be the first time we watch you guys battle."
Sayo crouches down a little then sprints around defeating enemies together with Souza backing him up to help him "It's kind of hard to move about." Souza mentions.
"For us Uchigatana's this will a little hard." Kasen added giving Aichi an idea for indoor battles.
"So this is how it feels to fight with a human body…" Souza readies for another strike "For giving me this chance to be on the battle field, I thank you, Aichi-sama!" Making a continuous strike with Sayo they successfully defeats enemies but getting a hard time hitting on the portal.
"This is my first time seeing a portal that can move." Yagen puffs.
"Maybe it's because of a Summoner?" Kasen deducted.
"Yagen and Sayo, since your mobility is faster can I count on you on destroying the portal?" Aichi calls out which the two answers "Yes!"
"Kasen and Souza, since you two won't be able to move about with the area can I count on you in defeating the enemies as support for Yagen and Sayo?" Aichi orders as the two answered "Yes!"
"I see they are really obedient." Ren remarks making Aichi's eyes fills with anger "So what will it be?" Ren walks towards Aichi slowly as the others fight the enemy at the same time thinking of a way to destroy the portal that keeps moving away.
Aichi then pulls out his deck "Let's Fight!" Ren pointed to a table that is in the middle of the ones in the far back and the ones who are fighting in the center where they would be fighting.
Taking off the chairs they stood up from the table, placed a grade 0 card "Stand up!" the both of them said.
"The!" Ren added surprising Aichi.
"Vanguard!" The two said as the battle starts.
Outro: Hhmm… a vanguard fight, good luck to me! I will need lots of help though.
