Chapter 8

Stay in Netherfield

The next morning was very cold, maybe too cold for an autumn morning however it was not surprising so was the weather, both got up very early and met in the dining room.

––Miss, how did your sister wake up?–

––Jane has had some fever but she is feeling much better, sir–

––I am very happy for her, would you like to–– slowly and some hoarsely asked ––start today? –– he said, looking at her intensely.

She couldn't help but feel little uneasy, she kept the training standing, she didn't know whether to decline but she was very tempted to accept, she bit her lip and then said ––I think it is magnificent, there is a place here that would serve for it–

––Well, we will go on horseback–– he said without further ado

She preferred to go like a wolf, but she knew that there she should not use her magic with exaggeration and furthermore this man definitely just ordered.

They both ate breakfast in silence and then proceeded to go out to ride, in the house the other inhabitants continued to sleep. Once they reached the clearing he asked him

-– Do you know how to fight? ––

–– Certainly I know very little, I know some spells, but I have never used them––

––Well then we will start with some protection spells, you must pronounce them well but to use them it is enough that you think them correctly–– she nodded and began to pronounce after him, she could see how as she was pronouncing it in a better way she managed to make them materialize, in front of her eyes she saw shields, swirls of air, aura of fire, just as she could also see how a double of his figure was realized, she saw how he became invisible, practical several times until she felt exhausted...

––Certainly using magic makes you spend a lot of energy–– he said giving her a pause –– Are you very tired?

––A little bit Mr. Darcy––

He hit the tree and magically fell some apples, he also took a leaf that after opening and closing became a jug with water. She smiled and told him I envy the freedom with which he did it

–– This will only give us energy momentarily, it is best to consume real food to replenish yourself and keep you well––

As he eats the Apples and asks her–Do you know how to use the elements? ––

–I'm really an expert at overflowing them, especially when my emotions are upset- she said smiling,

-Like last night when I was throwing fire like a mosquito? –– he said smiling

–– I never be one––

The river and he said, ––I don't know, I just saw sparks. ––

She laughed with him and I admire how handsome he looked when he smiled, he looked much younger and more approachable, but he really wasn't or was he?

––You must not pay attention to Miss Bingley, she is nothing by your side

She grimaced and said ––She is a completely hateful being I even think she is doing very well with you––

He raised his eyebrow and looked at her questioningly ––I can recognize what is around me, I may seem hateful but I really am not intentionally––

"Sure... Of course the almighty Lord Hilmen came from the North almost a God before these small villagers––

He did not say anything but made a half smile certainly in part of him was that, but he was uncomfortable with the comment

She was indignant and felt offended by the glimpse of a smile that seemed to her an act of superiority and petulance ––There is the super powerful Darcy lord of the North–– She said with mockery and disdain

Darcy was no longer funny and without thinking He showed her his power by enveloping her in a flight of air and separating her from the floor and suddenly brought her towards him, having her really close, he whispered as he stood in front of her with a hoarse voice looking at her, the changing environment was colder

––Certainly Miss, I am the powerful lord of the North––

She knew that she was overflowing him, but she still felt annoyed, he saw how her eyes became flares of fire but she could not do anything else because he had her in the air motionless and mute... he turned his back on him and told him–– It's time to go back –– he rode his horse and when he set it in motion it was that he returned her to the ground

Annoyed she sent him a gust of wind... She managed to hit him gently and dishevel him; it would not do him a greater evil, not now.

This man definitely irritated her, confused her, at least she would have to spend a few more hours in his presence, since they had to be there, Jane required two days of rest and so she could not leave yet. Upon arrival she saw Mrs. Hurst and Miss Bingley had briefly been by Jane's side, who was still improving.

As soon as it was time for the visits her mother and sisters made an appearance in Netherfield, if she had found Jane in apparent danger, Mrs. Bennet would have been very upset; but being satisfied to see that the illness was not alarming, she did not wish him to recover soon, since his cure would mean leaving Netherfield. For this reason, she refused to attend to her daughter's request to take her home and said she would follow medical advice for two full days of rest.

After sitting with Jane for a while, Miss Bingley appeared and invited them into the dining room. The mother and three daughters followed. Bingley received them and asked them about Jane in the hope that Mrs. Bennet would not have found her daughter worse than she expected.

-Well, truly, I found it very bad,- replied Mrs. Bennet. -So bad that as the doctor said, it is not possible to take her home. We will have to abuse their kindness a little more.

––Move it! Bingley exclaimed. Don't even think about it! I'm sure my sister will also object to her going home.

-You can trust, ma'am,- Replied Miss Bingley with cold courtesy, -that Miss Bennet must not miss anything while she is with us-

"I'm sure," she added, "that, if not for such good friends, I don't know what would have become of her, because she is very sick and suffers a lot; although yes, with the greatest patience in the world, as he always does, because he has the sweetest character I know. Many times I tell my other daughters that they are worthless by their side. What a beautiful room this is, Mr. Bingley, and what a lovely view you have of the garden paths! I've never seen a place in the whole country comparable to Netherfield. I hope you don't think to leave it suddenly, even if you have rented it for a short time––

Mr. Darcy joined the visitors as they talked but little participated in the conversation, words more words less, they took for granted the stridency and lack of manners of the Bennet family, Elizabeth seemed mortified and in fact saw how she began to conjure her sisters, she did it late and in fact she must have conjured her mother because she came to scold her publicly and exposed more than she did, Mrs. Bennet talked about she considered Elizabeth's eccentricities, Lydia took the promise of a dance, and at least Kitty didn't jump when the officers mentioned.

The afternoon continued as the day before the Bingley sisters continued with the rain of cold comments, Caroline also began to praise herself and try to show a non-existent affection between Darcy and herself. Elizabeth seemed to simmer, although she evaded Caroline's scathing comments again and again, controlling her character was a deep wear and tear on her.

Before dinner Hurts called his wife aside and asked her –– Could I ask you what they plan to gain by criticizing the Bennets?

A very surprised Louisa said –– Sorry?

–– You heard me well, what do you and your sister intend?

–– I really don't know what you mean John

–– Please Louisa, since you saw them they do nothing but criticize them and try to show everything that according to you is deficient in them, they seek with it to detract from them before Charles or Darcy–– when saying the last thing Louisa laughed at him surprised.

–– It is noticeable that you women did not forget all the history of our country, it is more perhaps unconscious of your own insignificance–– he said looking at his wife who was still speechless

–– It is that the surname does not even bounce off their beautiful little heads, they are Bennets, they come from a great ancient magical house, power and magic, I know that the latter you cannot feel, but they do not know the history maybe they forget where you come from, only you have my status, and we are not superior to them, you can fill your brother's head with silly things, but Darcy your sister is lost if she thinks that this way she will capture her interest, he recognizes perfectly who they all have magical qualities and are far superior to you are just being Bennet––

Lousia looked at him and said –– you want to say that they are noble––

––It is evident, and if they are not they were therefore they are of the aristocracy, even if it is of the lower echelons, do not remain as an ignorant and if your sister continues on that path do not follow her, you are a Hurts I remind you––

Lousia nodded and was left thinking about the words of her husband, Caroline would gain nothing by proceeding as she did, and Charles if he decided on Miss Bennet might be to some extent with an advantageous marriage, he should talk to Caroline...
