Intro: So it has finally arrive the boss battle which Mina calls, how will they battle with Aichi knowing how powerful he is, let us find out!

Chapter 71: Boss Battle?
Finally after a long hard battle it was the long awaited last mock battle, something that Mina called the last boss, in a sense though it is, but it was actually an experiment on Mina's part "Misaki-chan come here." Mina calls Misaki's attention to which she did and walks toward her "Alright another 30 minute break and then we will start!" at that Mina hastily grabbed onto Misaki's arm as they dash of inside the citadel.
"I wonder what they are planning again." Miwa said noticing the sudden leaving of the two. "Well in any case congratulations on your win!" Miwa congratulates the winners while Ookurikara just continued on to avoiding others while Taroutachi and Sayo comes along.
"Congratulations and good work!" Aichi pats Sayo's head and was about to reach to Taroutachi before remembering that he is like twice taller than him, which of course Taroutachi won't leave him hanging and will accept that pat on the head.
Crouching down a little Taroutachi smiles at the affection he was receiving and thanks Aichi back.
When something caught their attention, it was Hasebe wallowing on the ground because of their lost, on the other hand Kai won't have it though he thanked and said good work to his teammates before leaving the area with Souza and Hachisuka following behind, leaving Hasebe alone on the ground.
"So embarrassing…" Souza and Yagen both commented even though the two were apart they had the same thought.
At that time Morikawa has finally woken up at the worst time, or actually at the right time.
Hasebe when he finally stopped wallowing runs to Aichi "Aichi-sama! Please forgive me for being weak and unable to have the chance to face off with you!" Hasebe apologized over and over as he cried comically.
"What a lame guy…" Morikawa mentions as he sees the overly dramatic Hasebe crying in front of Aichi.
Of course Hasebe heard it "What did you say?!" Hasebe hastily returned back to normal and instead replaced by annoyance.
"Sorry about that he just woke up!" Izaki hastily covered his mouth and apologized for him "Don't get into trouble again Morikawa!" Izaki whispers to him "We just came here don't make things worse!"
"H-Hasebe calm down…" Aichi tries to calm him down, and as it works Hasebe continued back to what he was doing, Aichi sweating at the scene he did what he thought could calm him down and its a pat then caress on Hasebe's hair "It's alright, you've already proven yourself worthy, if I learned how to wield a sword, then I would be glad if you become one of my opponents." Aichi smiles.
"Aichi-sama…" Hasebe stands up "I will Aichi-sama and I won't hold back!" he smiles as he leave with a smile and look of triumph on his face.
"You surely know how to handle him…" Yagen commented as he sweat at the Hasebe who is now laughing.
Aichi on the other hand only nervously laughed "So what do we do Aichi-sama?" Horikawa made his way to where Yagen, Aichi, and Mikazuki are to ask their plan.
"First I want to check Aichi-sama's shoulder condition if he is fit to fight today." Yagen mentions.
"That is a good idea, why don't we talk about this on the infirmary then?" Mikazuki suggested with Horikawa and Yagen agreeing.
~At the infirmary~
In just 15 minutes left the battle will start "So that's the plan?" Yagen smiles "Alright I'm fine with it."
But then a knock was heard on the other side "Can I come in?" it was Mina's voice.
"Yes." Yagen answered for them.
"Aichi-kun I need to tell you something." Mina with a serious look enters as they readies themselves for what information could it be.
~Back at the garden~
The most anticipated battle of the mock battle, the boss battle is finally going to start with it everyone is watching silently and eagerly for this awaited fight, although they think it will just be an easy win by Aichi on the toudans even the guardians part because of the use of talisman on the other hand Morikawa was restrained by Izaki with the help of Miwa and to the Card Capital gang and Team Caesar see this a win for Misaki instead.
And they are in for a big surprise "Both parties ready?" Mina asks the two groups.
"Yes!" both Aichi and Misaki said.
"Ready?" Mina positions herself.
Aichi pulls out his talisman from his sleeves with Misaki also pulling out talismans from her sleeves.
"What?!" Shokudaikiri and Hasebe exclaimed with Yamanbagiri gasping in surprise seeing Misaki use Talisman.
Mina smiles "It's my talismans and I'm sure with Misaki having eidetic memory she can copy what I can do with of course my powers imbued in it." She explains.
"So technically she will be a copy of you." Konnosuke mentions "Were you intending this in the first place?" Konnosuke raises one of his eyes before closing them after.
"I have confidence that she would win in the end." Mina smiles "Of course if she didn't its fine by me also but… if she does since this won't be a fair fight I thought of making it fair by helping her."
"Basically she is like you, you know, her avatar in vanguard is also associated with the moon you know,Goddess of the Full Moon, Tsukuyomi…" Konnosuke mentions.
"I can see a protégé that is following your footsteps…" Kon added.
Both Konnosuke looks at each other with Konnosuke peeking his eyes a little before the two sighs "If Momoka was here I wonder what she will say." Konnosuke mentions.
Mina eyes the two with Konnosuke flinching ending their conversation "Alright!" She coughs first "Start!" Mina waves her hand and the battle of the final boss begins.
~Boss Battle~
"Somehow this feels like I am the one battling the final boss…" Aichi spoke looking at Mina as he places a talisman behind the three's back "Sayo, Ookurikara, Taroutachi… and Misaki-san I guess this means I don't need to hold back." Pulling out many set of talisman behind him they notice the three hasn't moved an inch from their place.
Aichi raises his hands and in an instant four cones formed above him by his talismans surprising everyone at the sight especially the Card Capital Gang, Team Caesar, Emi and Shizuka, even Mina "You continue to surprise me Aichi-kun" Mina muttered.
With that Aichi moves his hands forward but Misaki threw talismans in front of them shielding them from the attack but it was a wrong move, blocking their visions from the attack of the talisman the talismans didn't burnt away and instead formed back as a cone above Aichi after ramming the barrier, surprising Ookurikara, Sayo and Taroutachi, especially Misaki that Yagen, Horikawa, and Mikazuki was already in front of them ready for the kill.
"So it was a diversion!" Miwa exclaimed at the surprise they were given now this is the fight of someone who has experience.
Jumping from the air Yagen swiftly attacks Sayo "Eei!" receiving the blow Sayo jumps back running from the side he slashes through Yagen but was able to dodge the attack sadly Horikawa was already there to back him up jumping from the side tackling Sayo as he rolled on the ground slowly trying to recover from the hit Sayo slowly stood up.
"W-wow…" Kenji has nothing to say from the scene everything happened so fast making blinking a wrong choice since just one blink means you will overlook something.
On the other hand Mikazuki continues on to slash and ram Ookurikara with attacks not giving him a chance to fight back, Mikazuki was just too fast for him "Kh!" Annoyed he tries his best to attack and when he did Mikazuki spins to dodge the attack and was already behind Ookurikara in the blink of an eye "How is this?" Mikazuki strikes behind Ookurikara making him fall down on his knees.
On the other hand Taroutachi was busy from Aichi's talisman swirling around as the others spot that there are only three above him, noticing that Horikawa and Yagen was already nowhere the talismans enveloping him finally releases him.
Only to find out that above him were a Tantou and Wakizashi coming down on him "Too slow!" Horikawa shouts as he and Yagen attacks Taroutachi, surprising him though Mikazuki was already running towards him and when he reached him he receives the final blow, Taroutachi was also on his knees.
"S-so… fast…" Kamui gapes at the scene in front of him, basically Misaki's party is wiped out but of course she won't back down. "Aichi-onii-san is strong…"
"With Yagen and Horikawa, Aichi-sama already has the advantage for mobility giving time for Mikazuki to give out the final blow since he will be the last attacker." Shokudaikiri explains.
"In other words the two would weaken while he finishes the job and Aichi as a support to doing thos." Kai speculates which Shokudaikiri nodded to.
Although Misaki was also surprised she can't show weakness now Mina is counting on her, she thought to herself as she prepared a talismans and directly attacks Aichi but Yagen, Horikawa, and Mikazuki didn't move an inch to him while Aichi is being attacked because they know Aichi can defend from it "Barrier!" Aichi shouted as a barrier blocks the attack.
Ookurikara tries to stand up, seeing this Mikazuki smiles as he ran towards where Ookurikara is and continues to attack him, with Horikawa going for Sayo and Yagen aiming for Taroutachi.
This time Misaki uses her bow placing a talisman on it and released it aiming at Aichi at a high speed it was actually imbued with wind attribute but Aichi shields himself from the attack, raising his hands one of the cone shaped talismans became ice, smoking from the coldness he waves his hands as he aims it to Taroutachi instead.
Yagen noticing this flips to add force from dodging the attack, since there was no pointed end at the cone it basically looked like a cone and almost pierced Taroutachi with Misaki using a barrier to help Taroutachi but surprised them as the barrier instantly freezes, but what they were surprised most is that inside there was another cone that pushes its way and shattered the frozen barrier but Misaki was cautious and was able to make a double barrier, using the other talisman she calls back the barrier that was unused, as did Aichi.
"Aichi… is amazing." Morikawa muttered as he watches in awe and silence at the amazing fight in front of him.
~In the distance~
"Aichi-sama sure is giving it his all." Kiyomitsu smiles as he watches the fight unfold.
"It was sad that we weren't included." Nikkari started.
"But it's worth also watching it." Mutsunokami laughs.
"I want to fight along Aichi-sama too." Imanotsurugi whined.
"S-so am I…" Gokotai agrees.
"But this is a surprise though, I didn't think it was possible." Tsurumaru smiles.
"Oh you meant about Misaki-san using a talisman." Yasusada thought.
"Yeah, I didn't think she can use a power imbued by Mina-nee so she can use it." Tsurumaru said.
"Maybe it was the borrowing thing Mina-nee mentioned before." Hakata theorize.
"I for one think it was different though." Nikkari disagrees.
"I agree I would think she just lent her talismans with her power already infused with it." Mutsunokami added to what Nikkari said.
"How the color of the talismans glowed already is a dead giveaway that it's Mina-nee's" Yasusada mentions.
"Aichi-sama has a blue hue and Mina-nee has violet pinkish one." Nikkari stares into the talismans used by Aichi and Misaki.
"Let us just watch until the end, although we know Aichi-sama would win in the end anyway." Kiyomitsu smiles.
"At least we have a nice view here." Yasusada mentions.
"Let's continue what we were preparing later." Tsurumaru ends their conversation as they continued on to watch the battle unfold.
~Back at the Garden~
Misaki is already at the offensive to Aichi attacking using her bows at Mikazuki, Yagen, and Horikawa but to no avail as Aichi was fast in using the talisman to make a barrier.
On the other hand Taroutachi, Sayo, and Ookurikara are already exhausted from the continuous blows they were receiving, although Sayo can keep up a little with the experience he has but Ookurikara and Taroutachi were having a hard time, especially Ookurikara.
And because of what he is seeing in front of him Aichi hesitated to attack and instead on the defensive side.
"Of course Aichi-sama will think twice at seeing his beloveds in this state." Mikazuki muttered which only Yagen and Horikawa can hear since they are near each other.
"But of course we pursue strength for him…" Yagen answers smiling at Mikazuki.
"And of course he will answer if we ask." Horikawa answers him too with a smile.
Making Mikazuki laugh "Ahahahaha… Yokikana Yokikana!" (Can either be brilliant or well done, but most of the time translated to brilliant)
Sayo stands up slowly "If we can't handle even this… how would we get stronger…" positioning himself in his fighting stance Yagen and Horikawa prepares themselves smiling towards Mikazuki.
"O-Sayo…" both Kasen and Souza calls out to root for him.
"I don't intend to get along but I want strength for myself and for my own only…" Ookurikara spoke catching his breathe.
"Kara-chan…" "Kara-bou…" Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru knows him too well as they root for him.
"Even though I was enshrined I wanted to be of use to humans as I was born as a sword, I will continue to become stronger to be of use to you." Taroutachi readies himself.
"Taroutachi-san" Hakata calls out to him "Taroutachi" as did Tonbokiri.
"The bonds they have, are strong…" Konnosuke
"For now…" Kon
"But will continue to be tested…" Mina
"To be forged and become unbreakable!" Konnosuke, Kon, and Mina smiles.
"Aichi-sama!" Sayo and Taroutachi "Anta!" (Informal word for calling 'You') Ookurikara "Give us all you got!"
Aichi closes his eyes as his serious expression replaced his worry. Raising his hands Aichi pulls out 12 cones of talismans from his sleeves as the six toudans prepare to fight, Misaki also prepared her attacks and with that three cones was each distributed towards them with three different attributes each.
Misaki simultaneously trying to also attack with her arrows and defend using the barrier, but Aichi was much faster as he easily places up another barrier and then attack again by reconstructing and deconstructing the talismans he aims to them and shielding the three.
"Sometimes Aichi-sama being too nice is really worrisome." Yagen mentions as he attacks Taroutachi with him defending the attacks coming from them and when Yagen jumps away it means he will be attacked by Aichi's talismans and prepares himself to either be saved by a barrier or defend by himself.
"It's not sometimes though, it is always!" Horikawa chuckles a little as he attacks Sayo.
"And that is why we must all get stronger!" Mikazuki slows down in front of Ookurikara before speeding up and barraging another set of attacks which Ookurikara could only dodge and flick away from the speed.
"I will do what I want for my own without the help from others!" Ookurikara shouts but Yagen steals an attack from Mikazuki and successfully strikes Ookurikara at his side "Guh!"
"Such stubbornness…" Mikazuki closes his eyes as he finally headed for Misaki "I guess it's time to get serious." Serious as in even head out and attack a girl, this is a battlefield after all, regardless of the gender they will be standing on the battlefield.
Aichi helps with Mikazuki, this time Aichi makes a makeshift bow from his talisman surprising the others.
"Oi!? Are you serious?!" Shokudaikiri was forced to stand up and looks like will almost jump in knowing what he will do next. Even the others who were watching just a little farther away from them Especially Tsurumaru and Kiyomitsu.
Readying his arrow with different set of attributes imbued within, Aichi ran away from the area as his ability needs a longer range of attack, but confuses the others at his sudden actions.
Mina knowing what he will do next fortifies the barrier around the citadel to withstand the attack as did Aichi as a second layer especially at the area that will be taking the blow.
"Where is he going?" Yuri asks.
"Aichi's signature move." Miwa answers for them as Mina also wore a protective barrier for them all seeing this Aichi did too.
"O-oi?!" Gai who is a little alarmed at the barrier enforced and what will be happening.
Finally at a distance Aichi breathes in readying himself to attack a little holding back on his power he positions himself to draw the bow and finally Kogitsunemaru and Tonbokiri's wish to see happens in front of them.
"How very elegant…" Kasen praised.
"Yes…" Kogitsunemaru agrees.
"Beautiful as always." Mikazuki smiles at Aichi.
Still continuing on with the attack with the toudans while Mikazuki headed off to Misaki "Arrow Rain!" Aichi shouts and the arrow talisman was shot and at a right distance the arrows splits off to hundred bits with the talismans on Yagen, Horikawa, and Mikazuki activates, a barrier sheltered them from the attack.
On the other hand Ookurikara, Sayo, and Taroutachi although gets barriers from Misaki as she also uses a barrier for herself it gets either burnt, frozen, or other things since the barrage of attack was too much Aichi moves in again and watches how things will unfold with Misaki too focused on defending from the attack, confidently thinking that they won't attack her was the wrong move.
Yagen, Horikawa and Mikazuki were all already in front of her, her back and her side aiming at her at every position no escape. It was Yagen who taps his sword to her arm as the rain of attacks from Aichi's Arrow Rain ended everyone fell silent at the spectacle, something that they wouldn't see in their whole lives just happens in front of them, and someone who they thought was really fragile, weak, and timid was this powerful and scary.
With a serious face upon his arrival he lets go of the bow as it deconstructed to become a talisman again, readying himself if ever their plan has failed looking still quite okay from what he did.
But when the dust comes off the barrier around them were almost destroyed good thing there were 4 layers, the 2 layers only got destroyed while the barrier for the watchers weren't dented.
In a glance they can see Misaki surrounded with Yagen pushing his sword to Misaki's shoulder while Horikawa and Mikazuki readies if it will fail, while Ookurikara, Sayo, and Taroutachi seeing this they all slumped down on the ground.
With the others seeing their defeat Mina did not need to say who the winner is, pulling away their swords Misaki slumps down on the ground.
"My… my heart, that surprised me too much." Tsurumaru breathes heavily.
"I felt like my heart would jump out?!" Kiyomitsu drops down on the ground as did Midare, Gokotai, Imanotsurugi, and Hakata who all felt very tired all of the sudden.
"If it's surprises Aichi-sama can definitely beat you Tsurumaru-san." Yasusada joked though he himself was really worried.
"No kidding. Phew…" Tsurumaru leans on the tree as he takes a breather.
"But Yagen, Horikawa, even Mikazuki-san didn't stop him." Yasusada points out.
"So it only means it was planned." Nikkari thought.
"That could be it or we would have seen those three run after him and stop him." Mutsunokami joked.
"Somehow I can see that happening." Imanotsurugi shows a blank face at the thought.
"Please don't scare us like that." Shokudaikiri exhaled very hard seeing that he is okay.
"They didn't stop him, so it must mean that it was planned." Yamanbagiri thought.
"A very good observation Yamanbagiri…" Although he says it with a calm tone the toudans look at Hasebe with distrust as he saw him shaking, probably also panicking.
"When you say don't hold back… you meant that…" Kenji smiles but he was clearly dumbfounded, surprised and scared, well mixed emotions as did the others from their group.
"Oh… he was still holding back there." Konnosuke mentions as the others were surprised gasping at what they hear.
"In percentage how would you say he was holding back?" Miwa's face can't be painted anymore at the shock even he was surprised.
"That was much more powerful and scary at that time." Kamui mentions their certain welcoming here for the first time.
"I would say Aichi-kun was just using about 15 percent at first and then when they said no holding back it was turned to about 30 percent." Kon speculated.
"When it comes to power Aichi-kun can outclass me by a huge margin, but when it comes to experience I can surpass him with a big margin." Mina told the others.
"So the barriers were also at a 30 percent?" Yuri asks.
"No the barrier was about 50 percent." Kon answers.
"What…" Yuri was speechless.
"It was because of the barrage of attack, although it was indeed only at 30 percent, but with the amount it unleashed it wouldn't be able to hold the attack." Kon explains.
"Just how much power does he have in his tiny body?" Shin finally spoke out.
"Good question that is what we also want to know, Aichi's total power hasn't even reached a hundred percent, I guess by now he is only at 50 percent of the total power he has." Konnosuke chimes cue in shock from everyone even the new toudans.
"Meaning to say Aichi-kun at 50 percent is a hundred percent of his power right now and what he is using only at that percentage is about 30 in this fight." Mina runs to Misaki.
Aichi runs to Ookurikara, Sayo and Taroutachi as he starts healing them "Tsk" Ookurikara clicks his tongue not showing his face to Aichi nor to the others.
Mikazuki, Yagen, and Horikawa walks towards them and helps them up but of course Ookurikara didn't want any and only stayed on the ground but Shokudaikiri will have none of it walking towards him the others also have run towards them and helps them "Good work out there Kara-chan." With this Ookurikara sits up still not showing his face, well Shokudaikiri understood him well and it was only his way of saying sorry he was still weak and laughs because of it.
Finally the boss battle of the mock battle has ended, with it Aichi tries his hardest to heal all the toudans even though they weren't injured or anything they still received blows from the wooden swords and is fatigued from the fight, of course finally the others have seen a different side of Aichi surprising them at the secret's they might still have while Emi and Shizuka who has seen a glimpse of what he does here at the citadel he cried his heart out just to stay here at that time, who knew it was already more than five months that has passed since this happened, thinking that his son is in good hands with the family he calls right now in this place, Shizuka has no worries and is proud at him "I wonder if I should tell his father about this." She whispered.
Outro: I forgot the fact that Yamanbagiri doesn't call him master also, but he has mellowed out, he and Ookurikara calls the Saniwa only as you, I wonder who are the others I forgot. The Arrow Rain is from my favorite game Tales of Zestiria, Sorey and Mikleo's attack when they are in armatization.
