Bonus scene.
If Mirabel were in this story she would unfortunately have been in the place of Merida. In an early chapter, the trio would be hanging out someplace before Vanessa or another plot point arrives. When Anna walks away from the table, Mirabel leans past Rapunzel to take Anna's soda can, shake it, and put it back, turning it a smidge to refigure it in its exact placement. At the end of the scene Anna casually sits back down, takes her soda, points it at Mirabel, and pops open the tab.
Unfortunate indeed, because Merida was fun to write and totally suited the role, but alsoooo because of the plot. In this story, Merida learns she's straight through a horrible rebellion experimentation. In this story, Mirabel would find out she's bi in the worst way.
Not that she'd have to tell Luisa about it in the end. She would tell her mom.
"Okay, sweetie, pack my butcher's knife. Me and this teacher are having a chat."
If it were Pepa's kid the teacher would not be alive.
