America's pov

Me and Maxon stand in front of the Kings office, both mentally preparing ourselves for the meeting. Hand in hand Maxon pushes open the door.

The sight revealed was the most unexpected thing I could have considered. Queen Daphne and her fiancé sit close together longingly staring into each others eyes. The love between them obvious.

Maxon clears his throat uncomfortable trying to get the two love birds attention. Is this how others feel when the introde on me and Maxon?

Daphne is first to break the stare and addresses us," King Maxon and Queen America what a pleasure to finally feel acknowledged." Surprisingly her voice doesn't contain any dislike or displeasure as she greets me.

I almost feel bad for ignoring them for this long.

We take our sets and I'm first to ask, " it's a great pleasure to have this meeting but is there anything specific you wanted to talk about. " Afterwards I was proud to say I kept my expression neutral for the whole sentence.

Maxon squeezed my hand affectionly as Daphne replied, " While we both came wanting to make friends in the first place but no it seems like a good time to go back home. "

I was shocked to say the least she wanted to make friends with the girl who supposedly stole her true love.

I composed my expression and let Maxon continue the taking. He replied after a while," While I'm am sure me and America would both love being friends I also assume France would be safer than here at the moment. "

He slightly touched my hand and I nodded my head in agreement like I expected he wanted me to.

Both our guests nodded happy with this. Daphne said while getting up," We could always come back at a more suitable time or better you two could came to France."

More nodding was underway, although I didn't really know what to say about all this.

A few hours later me and Maxon are standing at the front entrance polity waving goodbye to our guests as there departuring car drives away.

Once the car is out of view I sigh deeply, relieved this is finally over. Maxon asked next to me, " My dear are you free tonight it is just you and me again.

I fake irritation, " You know I am sure that if you got the chance you would have called Daphne your dear so I am not my dear.

With that said I walked of Maxon running to catch up. When we are again walking side to side he asks, " So is that a yes or no?"

Author's notes

I am so happy to finally say that Queen Daphne is no longer a guest at the castle. Please review if you feel the same.
