America's POV
My heartbeat was frantic as I walked down the hall, the thought had barely registered in my mind and yet it was already confirmed, I was officially caring the next heir to the Ilea throne and I made the doctor promise not to tell a soul.
I didn't really know how Saxon would take the news, so I wanted to keep it a secret. At the same time, I knew for sure that I was going to wait until his birthday, that was conveniently in two weeks, before telling him. It was going to be like an extra present.
Finally, I pushed open my bedroom door and looked at my two maids, both with worry written in their features, in a calm voice I said,
"Hi guys, could you draw me a warm bath?"
While Mary rushed to draw the bath, Lucy came to my side, "We heard about you collapsing, are you okay now miss? "
I nodded my head before saying, "I was just a bit overly tired."
Lucy didn't seem to believe me completely, but before anything could be said, the water shut off and Mary came back. Happy for the distraction, I walked to the bathroom. It wasn't as if I didn't want to tell my maids more, it was just to do with the fact that I wasn't ready to mentally say it aloud.
After a relaxing bath I sent my maids away and happily snuggled into the bed, moments after my head hit the pillow I was asleep. The meeting with Maxon completely forgotten and his ability to worry over a simple scratch.
Maxon's POV
I was going crazy with worry, I had just been in the sick bay and there was no one in sight, not the doctor or my dear America. With my feet pounding beneath me, I rushed to the second place she would go after seeing the doctor, her room.
Pushing open the door, I breathed out a sigh of relief, my America lay fast sleep in her bed.
Kicking off my shoes I climbed into the bed, king work could wait until later, I almost just had a heart attack. My movement most likely wake America because seconds later her eyes fluttered open.
Realizing she was in my arms, she only snuggled closer, heading her face from my line of vision.
I asked her in a voice only reserved for her, "Are you okay? I heard you were in the sick bay."
I heard her mutter under her breath something that sounded like, can news spread literally any faster. Before replying,
"I am mostly okay, I was just tired and had a bit of a headache."
I nodded my head before blurting out a sorry, she was quick to ease my guilt and after giving me a peck on the lips and without prodding fell asleep once again.
