A/N: I don't own the rights to any of the Percy Jackson series or it's characters. That right gaoes to Rick Riordan. I also don't own the rights to Animorph including it's title.

I am, however, the person who posted 'The Tales of...' series.

This is not a crossover of the Percy Jackson series with the book/tv series Animorph, despite what you might think from the title. I just thought it be a proper name for the ability to turn into animals since that's why the tv/book series 'Animorph' was called that in the first place.

Also, ever since I got my latest Laptop I been stuck using Google Docs and Copy and paste my chapters and for some reason when I save what I paste any formats I made is turn to normal format- Inbox. I even have to bold the chapter titles, but as I'm sure you noticed sometimes I forget to do that. So anything I normally itallilize like thoughts come out normal text. A/N at the beginning and end of each keep the format changes because I add them without copying and pasting from google doc.

Jason: We Camp Out in a Mansion

I would've died five times on the way to the front door if not for Leo.

First it was the motion-activated trapdoor on the sidewalk, then the lasers on the steps, then the nerve gas dispenser on the porch railing, the pressure sensitive poison spikes in the welcome mat, and of course the exploding doorbell.

Leo deactivate all of them. It was like he could smell the traps, and he picked just the right tool out of his belt to disable them.

"You're amazing, man," Jason said.

Leo scowled as he examined the front door lock. "Yeah, amazing," he said. "Can't fix a dragon right, but I'm amazing."

"Hey, that wasn't your-"

"Front door's already unlocked," Leo announced.

"Not surprise after all the traps you disable, Valdez." Coach said. "With this much protection, who needs a door lock."

Leo turned the knob. The door swung open easily. He stepped inside without hesitation with Coach right behind him.

Before I could follow, Piper caught my arm. "He's going to need some time to get over Festus. Don't take it personally."

"Yeah, okay," I said.

It probably didn't help that just hours ago I said some mean stuff while under Medea's spell. It still freaked me out that the Medea could bring out the worse of me just by charming me. I was so worried about the power greater than Hercules being some kind of monster or something, but I never thought it be the power to make someone do what you want just by talking to them. Makes me glad that if Piper does indeed have the same power, at least she's on our side.

I set the cage down for a bit. "Piper. I know I was in a daze back in Chicago, but that stuff about your dad-if he's in trouble I want to help. I don't care if it's a trap or not. if I could I would get that healing potion just for him."

Her eyes were always a different color, but now they looked shattered, as if she'd seen something she just couldn't cope with. "Jason, you don't know what you're saying. Please-don't make me feel worse. Come on. We should stick together."

She ducked inside.

"Together," I said to myself. "Yeah, we're doing great with that."

I hefted the cage of storm spirits up and headed inside. It really wasn't that heavy-at least, not for me-but the storm spirits were racking around in it.

...

My first impression of the house: Dark.

From the echo of my footsteps I could tell the entry hall was enormous, even bigger than Boreas' penthouse, but the only illumination came from the yard lights. A faint glow peeked through the breaks in the thick velvet curtains. The windows rose about ten feet tall. Spaced between them along the walls were life size metal statues. As my eyes adjusted, I saw sofas arranged in a U in the middle of the room, with a central coffee table and one large chair at the far end. A massive chandelier glinted overhead. Along the back wall stood a row of closed doors.

"Where's the light switch?" Coach Hedge's voice echoed alarmingly through the room.

"Don't see one," Leo said.

"Fire?" Piper suggested

Leo held out his hand, but nothing happened. "It's not working."

"Your fire is out? Why?"Piper asked.

"Well, if I knew that-"

"Okay, okay," she said. "What do we do explore?"

Leo shook his head. "After all those traps outside? Bad idea."

My skin tingle. I hated being a demigod. Looking around, I didn't see a comfortable room to hang out in. I imagine vicious storm spirits lurking in the curtains, dragons under the carpet, a chandelier made of letha ice shards ready to impale us. It's one thing for the yard to be booby trapped, but now Leo's fire power is not working. Along with what happened to Festus this might be coincidence to mortals, but to me that's a bad sign.

"Leo's right," I said. "the traps, Leo's powers-this can't be coincidence. Especially after what happened to-you know. It's a few hours until dawn. Too cold to wait outside. Let's make camp in the room. Wait for daylight; then we can decide what to do."

Nobody offered a better idea, so I set the storm spirits down and settled in. Thankfully, I didn't find any poison throw pillows or electric whoopee cushions on the sofas.

Leo didn't seem in the mood to make more tacos, and with no fire we had to settle with rations. Meanwhile we filled Coach Hedge in on the details I promised him back in.

"So! You were sent on a dangerous quest to rescue me. Excellent!"

"Um," Piper got to feet, holding out her hands so Coach Hedge wouldn't attack her. "Actually Coach Hedge? Gleeson seems wrong. We're on a quest for something else. We kind of found you by accident.

"Oh." the coach's spirits seemed to deflate, but only for a second. Then his eyes lit up again. "But there are no accidents! Not on quest. This was meant to happen!"

I wish Coach's enlighten spirit was contagious but it wasn't.

As I ate, I studied the statues around the walls. They looked like Greek gods or heroes. Maybe that was a good sign. Or maybe they were used for target practice. On the coffee table sat a tea service and a stack of glossy brochures, but I couldn't make out the words. The big chair at the other end of the table looked like a throne. None of us tried to sit in it.

The canary cage didn't make the place less creepy. The venti kept churning in their prison, hissing and spinning, and I got the uncomfortable feeling they were watching me. I could sense their hatred for the children of Zeus-the lord of the sky who'd ordered Aeolus to imprison their kind. The venti would like nothing better than to tear me apart.

Despite how wired I felt, once my stomach was full, I started to nod off. The couches were a little too comfortable-a lot better than a dragon's back-and I'd taken the last two watches while my friends slept.

Piper had already curled up on the other sofa. I wondered if she was really asleep or dodging a conversation about her dad. Whatever Medea had meant in Chicago, about Piper getting her dad back if she cooperated-it didn't sound good. If Piper had risked her own dad to save us, that made me feel guiltier.

And we were running out of time. If I had my days straight, this was early of December 20. WHich meant tomorrow was the winter solstice

"Get some sleep cupcakes. I'll take watch tonight," Coach said.

"Are you sure?" Leo asked.

"Positive. From what you told me, all three of you need a good rest to recharge," Coach said. "Besides, considering those lasers sliced your dragon to pieces, whatever security system set up here, it's not fooled by the Mist. Not unless it was trained to take down passenger planes or birds. So I doubt anything outside will attack us."

I realized Coach was right. I thought those lasers were just trained to attack anything that enters the grounds, but it could be that those lasers might have actually read Festus as dangerous.

I took a deep breath. There was something I need to get off my chest first. "Leo, I'm sorry about that stuff I said in Chicago. That wasn't me. You're not annoying and you do take stuff seriously-especially your work. I wish I could do half the things you can do."

Leo looked at the ceiling and shook his head like, What am I gonna do with this guy?

"Please don't say I'm not annoying. I try very hard to be annoying," Leo said. "And how am I supposed to resent you if you go apologizing? I'm a lowly mechanic. You're like the prince of the sky, son of the Lord of the Universe. I'm supposed to resent you."

"Lord of the Universe?"

"Sure, you're all-bam! Lightning man. And 'watch me fly. I am the eagle that soars. Then there's your superstrength-"

"Shut up, Valdez."

Leo managed. "Yeah, see. I do annoy you. It's one of my lines of defense to keep people from getting close to me for when I have to run away."

"I get it. I apologize for apologizing."

"Thank you."

"You did fix Festus, though," I said. "You gave him a purposse again. I think this quest was the high point of his life."

I was afraid I'd blown it up and made Leo mad again, but Leo just sighed.

"I hope," he said. "Now lets get some sleep. Maybe in my dreams I can have some time without you organic life forms."

I wasn't quite sure what that meant, but I didn't argue. I closed my eyes and had a long blissfully dreamless sleep.

I only woke when someone yelled. "Son? Lit, come out here, please. There are strange people in throne room."

I open my eyes and look to see a pudgy man in a white bathrobe. He had a white beard and one of those long, old fashioned sleeping caps pressed down over his white hair.

Coach Hedge did the obvious thing. He raised his club and shouted, "Die!"

A/N: Sorry about the short chapter, but with Coach Hedge already awake, I didn't have to go throughthe him waking iup and full explanation process ontop of the discovery that they were in a golden room until AFTER Midas found them. I don't know if any of you notice but I'm actually over half way through the Lost Hero. Infact Medea's department store exploding was the halfway point. So I'm actually ahead of schedule but I don't think I would finish this one before the end of the month.
