Hello once more!
Finally got this chapter done, well this interlude. Which as you can tell is the last one before Arc.2 starts up. Which once that starts up. I'll be able to really utilize the other characters in Traverse Town more. Though I do apologize for the wait. I've been busy with a few re-writes and working on my other stories. Oh also this one is a bit shorter.
But that's just because I didn't have many more tales to tell currently. Well I did, but decided they would be better utilized in the chapters ahead. Anyways, like always I hope I did the best with the grammar and such; and I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
[In no way, do I own RWBY or Kingdom hearts and the associated show; game within this fanfic. Kingdom Hearts belongs to Square Enix and Disney. RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth/ Mounty Oum. All other added in franchise belong to their own respective creators.]
Four Hearts Of One Journey
Ch. Interlude-2
Tales of Traverse Town and… BEYOND! Pt.2 (Final)
Other world Tales- #1- Are you really, who you say you are?
Mount Justice, headquarters of the Justice Leagues secret op's team know as 'Young Justice'. Now turned into a refuge center for civilian and soldiers that were left. After their home of Happy Harbor was taken off their planet and made into its own separate realm of reality, only for Heartless to be the new constant villains. At least that was the gist of it.
Now all had been good so far the past few days. Everyone helping out from both the natives side and the non-natives. Even Albedo who was more then tricked by Mavis that her dear Lord Ainz would be rather upset to hear that she just stood around when she could have been productive. That and the fact she had nothing else to do really, which was the more effective statement much to Albedo's slight irritation there.
Though other non-natives like Ana had been making a face-to-face meeting date between the Justice League, Young Justice and the hidden remainder of Overwatch agents that came over with Ana. It was still a bit tense since the only other Overwatch agent who'd at least they meet called Genji was trying the one being the negotiator for his side. Batman the speaker for his own side. While Ana was playing the peace keeper between the two sides, even if she was from the Overwatch group herself.
Still aside from that and many other small events going around. Like the child like Robot guest Kid Flash and Artemis found, Vo-Toi being taught general skills to help out more. To Princess Henrietta learning how to work a gun of all things and much more. One small little event going on currently was rather wholesome considering the situation everyone was stuck in. One involving yet another non-native. Elizabeth Bathory. To be honest you could call this her first debut for her life time goal of being a pop idol. Well currently more of a soft spoken singer considering her crowd.
"If you're happy and you know it, clap you're hands!" Elizabeth sung to a small crowd of children. All of them having rather taken an easy liking to her, despite her somewhat more demonic appearance
Meanwhile as the kids were all happily listening to the rather nice song being sung to them by the pretty girl Elizabeth. Who they also found cool, because of her tail and horns; along with being super nice to them. A bit a way's, two people were standing watching the whole thing going on. These two being two of the native teens, Miss Martian or Megan and Zatana or well Zatana. You know since it's her hero name and… never mind you get the idea. Still the two watched this scene go on with rather perplexed looks.
"Have to admit. I still find it hard to believe she's… THAT Elizabeth Bathory. I mean's she so… so…" Zatana began to say. As so far, despite what she'd read in history books and of Elizabeth's tale. The young blood bathing queen had proven anything but dangerous
"Nice?" Megan quipped as Zatana nodded a bit. Megan couldn't help but agree with her friend, from what she'd learned thanks to many of her friends here on Earth history and tales. Elizabeth's wasn't… the most heroic you could say
Then again the whole concept of Heroic spirits when explained by Fate for she and the others. That being her team, the older hero's, Ana and even a few of the other non-natives. Having asked to get more information on that particular concept. She at least had found it all rather to be… something. That's all Megan could say of it honestly.
Mainly because even though it did sound rather cool to summon hero's from old tales. It also got real dark; real quick with the whole Holy Grail War thing. Seven, two person teams fighting to the death for a grail. That was arguably a literal magic nuke in some ways depending on who won the war in the end. Wasn't what you'd call a great introduction.
To be honest, Megan could only shutter at what wishes some of the criminals she'd heard about, would ask the grail to grant. And, don't even get her started when came to the various classes and stats that made it seem more like a video game. All in all, the concept of Heroic spirits was a middle road for her. Some of her other friends showed more disgust on the idea, since what was also explained. Many non-heroic types could be considered Heroic spirits as well. Either way, again it was a something; a middle road.
"Yeah. You'd think a girl who's apparently know to have bathed in the blood of young women she murdered. Would be more… evil I guess." Zatana explained, as she herself was trying to let all the information about heroic spirits in general sink in still
"At one point maybe. But not anymore." Suddenly a man from behind said, Megan and Zatana flinching for a moment. Before looking back seeing it was the other heroic spirit of Aqua's, Siegfried who the two young heroines found a much more appropriate person to be considered a heroic spirit. Siegfried with his usual stoic face watching Elizabeth sing to the children as he addressed the two young women "Trust me, despite how she is. She was a very… lonely girl in her mortal life. Even when she was found, tried and thrown in a jail cell that closed her off of all contact with others. She died alone, by her own hands."
"Oh…" Megan muttered at least, as she and Zatana felt a little uneasy now hearing that rather dark snippet of Elizabeth's mortal life. Siegfried himself took notice, and slightly scolded himself for talking without thinking first… again
"Sorry. I… tend to talk before thinking on what I should say. If it makes it any better, I think even without the grail. She got her true wish." Siegfried exclaimed, as Megan and Zatana looked back at Elizabeth. Who was smiling happily as she sung to the kids who were now singing along with her "To have people notice and love her."
"Sounds like a nice wish." Zatana muttered, before looking at Siegfried "If you don't mind. The whole Holy Grail war things sound so… cruel. Did you… ever you know. Fight in one?"
Siegfried for a moment tried to think back if he did, to be honest he couldn't remember if he did or didn't. Maybe he did, he thinks he did. But that he died early on. He also remembers a boy, a young maiden and his master he believes. Some other heroic spirits too, though again it was all very blurry and distorted memories of a possibility that he didn't even know could be the truth. Turning his attention back to the two young girls. He had to answer them at least, especially since they seemed a bit concerned on his sudden silence.
"If you must know. I can't say I did, but I can't say I haven't. Most cases if a heroic spirit had been summoned before in a pervious war. They don't remember much if anything usually. That's just how it is. But again, I can't say I haven't just like I can't say I have. Sorry if that's not the best answer." Siegfried explained, as he did feel bad he couldn't say much more though; but that's just how it was
"No it's no problem. Honest. Right Zatana?" Megan replied, looking to Zatana who nodded in agreement before she turned her attention back to the heroic spirit with them "See fine… but um… if I could ask one a question too?"
Siegfried just gave them a nod that it was fine. Which Megan and Zatana were happy for, since they'd been a bit worried this guy would be harder to talk with. But so far he seemed easy to talk to, so with that Megan cleared her throat and took a small breath before feeling enough courage to ask Siegfried her question. One that she'd been curious on since hearing of the grail itself.
"Um… right so… w-what was your wish?" Megan asked, as Siegfried stared right at her. Making the young Martian worried she'd crossed the line with her question "Oh I-I'm sorry. Was that a bit too personal. Just forget I asked o-okay!"
"…." Siegfried didn't say, before looking back ahead at Elizabeth, then cleared his throat a bit "It's fine. I don't mind you asking."
"So…?" Zatana carefully asked this time. As she and Megan were curious if they'd hear what wish this legendary hero from old desired
"I will answer. My wish… my wish is to do a good dead by my own will alone." Siegfried answered, as Megan and Zatana were a bit confused on that. Realizing he wasn't as clear as he hopped, he decided to be a bit more clearer "You see. When I was alive, I was hailed as a hero. I the one from royal blood, who wielded the blade Balmung and had many adventures through my youth. One of my most known being me to the one to slay the dragon Fafnir. But even so, I always did those for others. Never myself. Even in the end, when I… died. I did it all for the sake of my country. But in more simple terms, my wish would be to not fight for anyone else's desire. I want to fight in the name of the justice I believe in."
"That's… a really nice wish if you don't mind me saying." Zatana quipped, as Megan nodded in agreement
"Thank you. But if I'll be honest. I don't think the grail would have granted me my wish. Not that I'd need it anyways now." Siegfried explained, smiling a little as he kept staring at Elizabeth. Who now was telling a few cute stories to the kids. All of them listening with glee as it seemed they were really enjoying it
"Whys that?" Megan and Zatana both asked, curious on why Siegfried would say that
"Because I believe it's already be granted." Siegfried answered. Looking back once more at the girls as he knew they'd want to know what he meant by that also "I was summoned by Aqua alongside Elizabeth in the third Holy Grail war."
"When did that take places?" Megan asked once more
"During World war II. I think in Germany. It was supposed to take place in a city in our world know as Fuyuki City. But last minuet changes switched it to Germany during the war. Those early days were… confusing. Since us Heroic Spirits are summoned with knowledge of the world's current state and the years after our deaths usually. I and Elizabeth ended up not being given such a thing. So you can imagine how… unsettling it was for us to be brought into an era so far ahead of our own." Siegfried explained, stopping to see if either girls had a comment or another question for him
"Yeah. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that must have been really... something." Zatana answered as Megan nodded in agreement "So, you two were summoned and all that… what, what was it like. I mean being in a secret magic war, while a world war was going on around you?"
"It was… something. If you don't mind me stealing your own words." Siegfried joked a bit. Zatana and Megan laughing a little at the small quick joke, though Siegfried began to think back a little on those odd days
Oh yes those memories would always be with him. He was use to war, death, blood, gore. The worst of the worst sights when killing another living creature. Most by his own hands against an opponent in battle. But that was in his era, when swordsmanship was the skills needed. Where honor was needed. Then his summoning happened and he learned how much had changed since his life time.
It didn't help that the usual procedure had been left behind and metaphorically stomped to death. The knowledge that was supposed to come to him never did. So the war was a first and in his face showing of the advancements with humanity as a whole. That said, it was not an easy transition. Poor Elizabeth even if they hadn't gotten along much during those early years. He pitted the girl, who was in the same situation he'd been in.
She took it more harder though, ironic considering her legend and her share of blood. But she found a real deep hatred for war itself after what she saw during the Third Holy Grail War. He himself found a slight uneasiness with guns. Guns… oh guns, those thing to him made war TOO easy to be waged; made the dumbest fool a threat to be wary of. At least in his opinion. Though he quickly broke his walk down memory lane so he wouldn't worry the two young ladies with him. Thankfully it seemed he'd only been a few moments of memories as the two were still in mid-chuckle. Waiting a second or so more, the two ceased their laughter looking back at him.
"No worries honest. Still if you don't mind telling us… I mean if you want to that is." Zatana asked once more, Siegfried just nodding before yet again looking back at Elizabeth who was talking with the kids now; while letting some of them braid her hair
"I have no objection to it. To be blunt, it was hell. Pure living hell. Having no knowledge of the new tools of war being displayed before us. It was… a learning experience and that's all I can really say on it without going to graphic detail." Siegfried answered as the two young girls silently nodded a bit, having a feeling it was still a very sore subject for him "Anyways. I'm glad that in this world at least. Heroes are still alive. So, I hope I, Elizabeth and Aqua can help you for our stay here."
"We'd be honored Siegfried." Kaldur suddenly said, coming from Siegfried's right as the three looked at the young man. Who was giving Siegfried a small smile "I overheard and again. We'd be honored if you would help us during you stay here. You, Aqua and Elizabeth."
"Speaking of. Siegfried, I don't mean to sound nosey. But is Aqua okay. She seemed a bit upset after her private chat with Fate. Anything we could help with maybe, the guy's a good hero. I'll say that. But…" Megan asked, as she took a moment and looked to Zatana who seemed to get a little irked at the mention of Fate
"He's a… difficult man to speak with. Trust me, I know." Zatana simply answered as Kaldur nodded in silent agreement. Siegfried could tell the young magician had a more personal issue with Fate. But he decided to leave it at that and let her tell him if she felt the need too later on
"I understand. But to be honest, I can't say really." Siegfried answered. Though that was a lie, one he didn't want to say to such kind youths. But he believed it was on his master Aqua to tell the natives in this world about her and Fates relationship from the past. That and it was on Fate to also explained his part in the past keyblade wielders journey
Thankfully it seemed the three took the answer as it was. Just giving Siegfried a small understanding nod. Before looking back at Elizabeth who was back again to telling the kids wonderful; cute stories. Siegfried took the silence for what it was, smiling a little again. Whatever might happen later on, at least for the time being. It was peaceful…
Other world Tales- #2- A day in the Mojave…
It was another day in the Mojave Wastelands. The usual warm weather and the usual well everything in the post-apocalyptic world. Today again was just like every other day in the town of Good Springs. Aside from the fact now they had patrols around the town ever since those creepy dark things appeared. Along with the fact they had to shoot down one of their own after being possessed. Left quite the paranoia within the towns folks.
So they made a system to have one random townsfolk alongside the robot Victor. Portal around the town for a whole day; every day. Today, was the first day of that system going into use. Victor strolling alongside Good Springs newest resident and for now at least ex-NCR soldier Dawn.
Dawn herself was still getting used to being in town again. She'd spent a good few months training to become a soldier. Even if she wasn't the best and far too green still. She had tried, though the images of her dead friends and dead possessed friends still were fresh in her mind. None of the deserved what those dark things did to them. Not one at all. But today she hoped that maybe doing patrols with Victor, the robot who'd saved her; would help clear her mind.
"So, excited to be stretching your legs out some again?" Victor asked as he and Dawn walked around the outer area of the town first; mostly to make sure none of the usual creature or possibly possessed ones were getting too close for comfort
"Yeah I am. I didn't mind helping Doc Mitchell out around his house. But it got a bit boring, not that he took offense to that. Still… I also wanted to say thanks again, to you especially for helping me bury my friends. I know it's not a usual thing to do now a days but…" Dawn thanked. Happy to know at least her friends, or the bodies that were out there and had not been possessed could be buried
Well to be honest, the bodies were pretty much gone anyways from being eaten by the critters around. Which hadn't shown yet, but she worried those would be possessed too now from eating ones who were tainted meat. Still, she was glad to at least to be able to get their dog tags and dig in a cross with those dog tags hanging from the cross itself. A way to bury them all and give them peace.
"Ah… don't fret about it missy. The folks at Good Springs might be survivors, but they're fair and they respect the NCR. Well at least when it comes to their morals I guess. No offense to you." Victor replied back as that wasn't exactly true when it came down to how the NCR was viewed by the Good Springs residence, but it was a much better view then when it came to their thoughts on the Legion
"You don't have to lie. I joined them, but even I know they can be a bit… forceful when it comes to annexing territories in the area. Sure they don't kill and pillage but they're still a bit forceful at times." Dawn replied back, smiling a little as she knew even with good intentions. The NCR could be a bit too aggressive when it came to taking over territory, one thing she didn't care much when it came to the NCR. But it was better than the stories of what she heard about the Legion "Still. Thanks for being nice about it."
"No problem missy. Anyways, not seeing any of the creepy varmints yet. We should be counting our blessings on that. We might have the fire power to kill them, but personally I wouldn't want to deal with em. More irritating then anything." Victor quipped, as the two made it to the road that lead out of town and near the area that Dawn had been saved. Stopping by it, she looked ahead seeing nothing coming up the road. Still Victor felt a little off about this, like danger to the town off "Hm, maybe we should check down there. Just in case. What do ya say missy?"
"Well… okay then. But let's be quick about it, we still need to make our rounds for the rest of the day." Dawn agreed as they began their way down the road
So as they began their trek down the road, seeing the usual ridges, small hills on each side. The Coyote Den to their left, which they left alone since they didn't need to waste ammo on the creatures. Nothing seemed out of place so far. Then as they reached near the crossway, the saw the old camping grounds, with a few small trailers and such. Stopping, they also saw the old shack ahead that had a sign that said 'Jeanne's Sky Diving' on it. Looking both ways, the two knew that to the right was Primm which was where Dawn would have been by now if not for the incident. To the left was where the now rumored, capture 'NCRF Correctional Facility' was at which Dawn and her old unit had thankfully passed by before it seemed the convicts escaped and taken over the place. Again all just rumors though.
Still as the two took a few more glances to the left, then right. Then left and right again. It was at the second right, when they suddenly heard a loud echo.
[BANG, BANG, BANG!]
Three shots followed by even more to the left where the correctional facility was at. Dawn getting her rifle ready just in case. That and putting on the first Recon cap she found her shinny weapon in a ways to help her get into the mindset of a solider. At least for her since she still hadn't actually ever shot any living being before, though hoped she wouldn't need to today. She aimed her rifle, looking through the scope as she saw someone running at them.
It was man, in blue overalls, with a long sleeve red/ yellow shirt, red neckerchief and black boots. Dawn also saw he was a pale skinned man with short light brown hair and blue eyes from what she could tell, along with seeming a bit older then her. But what caught her attention even more was that this man was bleeding a little as he was running away from well… three convicts.
Oh yes, Dawn had seen some back at Camp McCarran being transported. Which is why she knew what these three men were, seeing the black pants, black shoes, light blue shirts and dark blue coats. But they also now had Kevlar vests over their uniforms. The three convicts were firing off; starting left to right. A 9mm pistol, a Varmint rifle and a single action shotgun. The one the shotgun the closest as they fired off a shell almost hitting the fleeing man.
"Come on…" Dawn muttered as she really did not want to shot the three convicts dead, feeling suddenly a bit nervous about taking three lives just like that; even if they were to be considered bad people
"Missy you better those three rustlers out before that man gets gun down." Victor explained, as he knew his guns could do some damage but not from the current range the fleeing man was at. Speaking of, the man almost got shot again through the skull "Now or never Missy!"
Dawn meanwhile. Sighed and shuttered, knowing Victor had a point as much as she hated it. So, taking in a deep breath she brought up all the training she'd been given to do this. To take a life. Taking a deep breath, then holding it in as she remembered overhearing some troops saying something about that little trick. She aimed, hearing the thump of her heart beats. Slowly pulling the trigger while she hoped she was a good aim, that and hoped this gun didn't have a real strong recoil. Waiting a few more seconds, putting her sights on the convict with the shotgun first. She finally pulled the trigger
.
[BANG!]
.
The shotgun wielding convicts head exploded into gory chucks of flesh, bones and tendons. Dawn quickly moved the scope without thinking at the convict with the 9mm.
.
[BANG!]
.
The convict with the 9mm quickly dropped his gun. Falling to his knees as he grabbed the bit of his throat he had left as blood squirted out. Then he fell on the ground dead as dirt. Dawn once more without thinking, moved her scope to the third convict with the varmint rifle. But she stopped when she saw the convict on the ground trying to pry off one of those dark things that must have jumped on him while she took out the other two. But as she had a choice, she knew which one to shoot.
.
[BANG!]
.
The dark thing blew up into black smoke. Dawn took a moment before she could see convict with the varmint rifle was also dead. Blood spilling out from his chest as she almost threw up seeing what looked to be the man's ribs showing a bit.
Letting down her rifle. She began to breath a bit quickly as she realized she'd just killed two men ever. Not that they wouldn't have killed her back, but still. It made her feel… off for some reason, really off and uneasy having done so. But as she was having a slight panic attack. The man she'd saved finally came up to them. Stopping as he took a few deep breaths.
"H-Hey thanks for…." The man began to say, before he looked at Dawn seeing her seem so out of it. Despite his own wounds, they weren't fatal and so he knelt down to the girl "Kid, you okay?"
"Ah mighty sorry sir. But I think was her first time you know..." Victor explained, as the man understood very quickly what the robot meant
"Oh…" The man said, as he decided to try and help out his young savior. So slowly placing his left hand on her left shoulder. He noticed Dawn flinched a bit as she looked back at him, but the man knew this was probably someone who hadn't grown up in a harsher part of the Mojave "Look. Kid, I understand you're… shaken up. But you saved me from some pretty bad men. So just remembered that okay?"
"O…Okay…" Dawn responded, seeming to get what the man was saying even if she still felt uneasy "A-Are you okay mister?"
"Other than being shot yeah. Nothing fatal. Just hurts like a Brahmin kick to the stomach." The man answered, smiling a little as he stood back up; though helped Dawn back up too "I'm Ringo by the way."
"D-Dawn, this is Victor." Dawn introduced herself, before pointing to Victor
"Howdy." Victor greeted, as Ringo nodded back with a small nod. Though Victor decided to get some answers now "Beg my parten. But what in god's name were you being chased for by those rustlers?"
"Oh that… I ah… I killed a few of their buddies when they ambushed my caravan." Ringo answered, before taking out a stimpack and stabbing himself in the neck; and already he felt his wounds start to close up. Though Ringo knew his issues wasn't over yet with those convicts "To be honest, those three were just the scouts sent to keep after me. They're probably more of them coming soon, especially the group's leader some asshole named Joe Cobb from what I overheard before I booked it. If I don't find somewhere to lay low soon, I'll either die from them catching up or from something in the Mojave."
"W-Well…" Dawn began to say, before taking a moment to think on what she was about to offer considering how new she was to Good Springs. But she might as well offer "Well… why don't you come back with us. There's a town called Good Springs up this road. I-I'm sure if we talk it over with the others. They'll be nice enough to lend some shelter for just a bit. R-Right Victor?"
"I guess so. The older folks there will have to be told of this offer of yours missy. But I'm sure they'll agree to let you stay for a while Ringo." Victor stated as that was his best guess on the possibilities there "We should head back now. Tell everyone here bout dear old Ringo's situation and have you missy calm your nerves for a bit."
"He's right… lets… lets go." Dawn muttered as she took a shuttering breath, before holstering her rifle and taking her beret off
Ringo just nodded as he, Dawn and Victor made their back to Good Springs. All of them ready to just get some rest. Though as they did, none of them noticed a man in a black cloak looking down at them from a hillside. One Agent (Sir) Palsmedes of the Black Heart Cult.
Speaking of, Palsmedes was starting to think that maybe sitting outside around this odd town was a bad idea. Not because it was dangerous, but because it was a bit lonely. Especially since he didn't know when the keyblade wielders would show up, though he also didn't want to go against their Lords orders either. Though having been sent here a week ago already, stopping those Legion folks from telling their superiors about the place. He felt a bit responsible for the town. His honor as a self proclaimed knight told him so too. So standing back up, he stretched for a moment. Before gazing upon Good Springs and knowing what his choice would be.
"Hm. I guess I should make my way down there. Though I may need to dress in more appropriate attire before introducing myself." Palsmedes muttered, before summoning a few Shades to his side as they waited for orders "You lot, go around the area. Not near the town ahead and try to find me some clothing that would fit better in this place. Make it quick to please. I'd rather not have to spend another day waiting out in this hot sun. A black cloak along with black heavy armor really takes in a lot of heat."
The Shades simply slinked into the ground like shadows and moved around the area; but keeping away from the town of Good Springs as ordered. As they did so, Palsmedes sighed as he sat back down, looking back at Good Springs. Though as he did, he couldn't help but hope that once the Shades come back. That they at least had some clothing that looked good enough on him, that and fit him...
Other world Tales- #3 (Final)- Just another normal day in the darn canyon…
Yet another day in the canyon of-
"HELP!"
That was a scream for help, from the teams newest little guest; May. Who was currently in the passenger seat of one of the many Warthogs. Which had been picked to be subjected to a just for fun. Prototype auto pilot feature. Which currently seemed to have quite a few… kinks left to fix.
"PLEASE HELP!" Simmons screamed as he also was on the Warthog. Clinging to the turret for dear life when he was rammed into by the car before landing right on it
"WHERE'S THE OFF SWITCH. WHERE'S THE FLIPPING PIECE OF CRAP OFF SWITCH?!" Griff also was screaming for dear life. As he was in the driver's seat trying to find some kind of off switch or something since he'd also been hit and flung right into the drivers seat
Though as the trio were trying to not pass out from how scared they were on the out of control Warthog. Carolina, Church, Wash and Sarge were standing on the side lines watching the chaos ensue. While the others. Being Donut, Caboose, Doc who was keeping an eye on Caboose, Lopez and Tucker were inside the base. Trying to find something to stop the gone mad Warthog. Still it was… quite a way to start the day.
"How… HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?" Carolina angrily asked, looking at the boys. Mainly Sarge "Well?"
"What in sam's hill do you think I did it?!" Sarge asked, sounding offended as Carolina crossed her arms. Church and Wash joining in as they stared at the older man who stared back seeming to not back down. Well only for a bit before he saw Carolina punch her right hand into her left palm for a moment, which made the man internally shuttered "Oh fine. I wanted to put in auto pilot for the Warthogs."
"Why, what's the point of doing that?" Wash questioned as Sarge huffed
"Course you wouldn't understand you dumb blue. My genius is solid and simple. I wanted to put auto pilots on the Warthogs so that the car can drive by itself and we can one extra gun to fire off at those freaky deeky dark things. A full cart of boom, blam and bamb!" Sarge explained, with some childlike glee as usual when it came to shooting guns, guns and more guns
"Yeah real smart. So how the frackel did this happen?" Church chastised as the Warthog with May, Griff and Simmons past by them again "Ten laps so far. The guys better hurry up before we get to the twenties..."
"Heck if I know. Probably just some faulty wiring." Sarge explained, though from the back of his armor a small clip fell on the ground as he looked down on it "OH... so that's where that piece was to hold the wires. I just used good old duct tape to fix that little issue."
"Oh dear god..." Wash grumbled as Church sighed, having a feeling it was something as stupid as this
"Anyways... Sarge what do we need to do to fix this?" Carolina chimed in, as she was NOT in the mood for any stupidity right now; especially if it involved a endangered May. Who she'd gotten quite close to this past week. Like a big sister to a little sister, which is why she'd been so protective over the child already "One that's a quick fix and that we don't have to wait a long time to be exact."
"Eh… no idea." Sarge answered with a shrug, as Carolina growled a little under her breath
But before Carolina could possibly consider attacking Sarge. Tucker and Lopez came out of the bases entrance, Tucker holding a hook connected to a metal wire in his right hand. The metal wire going back inside the base itself.
"S... Sorry it took so long. You would NOT believe how heavy this hook is." Tucker quipped, seeming a little out of breath and tired
"Okay what are you talking about and where did you even get that hook?" Wash asked, a bit confused since they didn't have one of those… well he thought but apparently they did
"Would you believe me if I said Griff was using it for a foot rest?" Tucker questioned as he'd found the thing under a sheet in Griff's quarters being used as foot rest
"Yes." Sarge, Church and Wash bluntly replied back. As that really did sound like something Griff would do, like a lot and with no shame what so ever too
"Why…" Carolina muttered a bit, as she already felt a headache coming; but let it be as she needed some more answers right now "Alright Tucker, what's your plan?"
"Oh easy, the next time the Warthog comes around. I'll throw the hook on the back of it and that should stop it. Trust me, Lopez even said it would work when we asked him." Tucker explained, sounding a bit proud of his plan
"Solo dije eso porque seguías preguntándome si funcionaría cuando dije que no. Honestamente, quiero que este plan tuyo te explote en la cara, solo porque sí. (I only said that because you kept asking me if it will work when I said no. Honestly I want this plan of yours to blow in your face, just because)." Lopez explained, though he already guessed like always they'd just make up an answer for what he was actually saying. Still he hoped the kid would be okay, he actually like May since she was the only one who seemed to try and understand what he was saying. That and she said she thought he was cool, so that was just the motor oil on top of the bolt shake for him
"See. Lopez says it will work and I believe it will." Tucker reinstated as Lopez sighed
"Te odio… (I hate you…)." Lopez muttered at how many times these people's stupidity shocked him even now
"Roger that Lopez!" Tucker said, before everyone could hear the Warthog coming around to them once more as Tucker began to make his way over near where the Warthog tracks were at "And there's our ride."
"Hey can I ask. Where's Caboose, Donut and Doc anyways?" Church asked as the sounds of the Warthog and the screaming were getting louder by the second; while Tucker held the hook out a little so it could latch onto the back of the vehicle
"Oh I had them set up the anchor for…" Tucker began to say, but once he finally actually said it out loud. A sudden horrifying realization surfaced at how flawed that part of the plan was
"Nice one bluetard." Sarge mocked, as he laughed a little. Wash, Church and Lopez just waited for the true chaos to start and Carolina face palmed or well helmeted palmed
"HELP!" May screamed as the Warthog now arrived in front of the base for the eleventh time, passing by Tucker and the hook for a moment. Before like Tucker had planned, it caught on the back… but at the point of his realization. Tucker was now regretting his decisions so early in the morning
Without a second to spare, Tucker was pulled along with the wired hook. Being pulled against the dirt road, moments later the rest of the wire came out of the base along with the so called anchor. That alongside having Caboose, Doc and Donut being pulled by the Warthog. While also hanging on for dear life as they started to scream. Though Sarge and Lopez got caught in this around the ankles and now were being pulled too. All the while Church, Wash and Carolina all watched the madness play out. The tiring stupid filled madness.
"So… guess we should wait then?" Wash asked, as he knew they should wait even if it may take a bit
"I guess. That thing probably will run of gas sooner or later." Carolina replied back as she did not need this in the morning; but she already was planning something to help calm May at least once today's daily madness ended
"Great. Fraking joy." Church groaned as the three just watched, knowing one way or another that Warthog was going to be stopped
Meanwhile from the base of the Heartless on the opposite side of this canyon. Even if they were a bit smarter than most animals. A good few couldn't help but watch the immense stupidity playing before them. It was SO stupid that it was memorizing in a way. So they watched and watched the chaos that was being unfolded, and chaos not done by their own efforts.

Yep, another normal day in this darn canyon…
Traverse Town Tale Vol.2 #1- Wait, what month is it?! (Late Valentine's day special)
It was another day in Traverse Town. The night sky and stars were there like usual, the lights of the town shinning as brightly as ever. But today was a different day. Oh yes, today was a day that only a good few of the Town's folks knew of. A day some dreaded and others enjoyed. But again that was only amongst the few who did know what today was. For this day was…
.
.
.
"Happy Valentine's day!"
That was what one Illya Von Einzbern cheered in glee. She and her best buddy Rin, placing little heart stickers on one of the autobots; that one being Grimlock who'd just moments ago looked down at the two who got his attention. Grimlock currently in his T-Rex form because he seemed to be more comfortable in that form, while the two little girls kept placing the stickers on the tip of his metal snout.
"Me Grimlock confused small organics." Grimlock replied, as he'd never heard of this odd ritual and he would usually get mad when stuff started getting put on him for no reason. Though he wasn't misbehaving currently, since he and the little girls weren't the only ones around
No as it was everyone in the guild who was gathered around in the now much larger court yard of the town. Everyone talking amongst one another, the kids enjoying the small sweets that had been made. The large bell above them all having just rung once. Which indicated that it was currently 10:00 AM in the morning, since that's what it said on clock itself.
Now the reason this day was being celebrated, was that everyone was FINALLY settled in enough. That and it seemed like a good idea to celebrate something. Since it also turned out to February too, might as well let it be Valentine's day for the first holiday to be celebrated. So here they all were, a party set up to celebrate the holiday. That and also to just have a party.
Like a real party as ever since this all started, it had been one stressful situation after another. So a party was in desperate need. Still currently we are revolving around a small friendship that was starting to blossom on this day. One between the fearsome Grimlock and the two little magic girls. Rin and Illya. The two young one's up until now having been a bit scared of Grimlock since he towered over them. But that was the first month, now the two were finally getting comfortable enough to talk with the metal giant. This being the first indication of that.
"Oh it's a holiday where couples just show each other their love. Though that usually leaves other single folks left out." Hana explained, coming in suddenly from the bots right. As today she was in casual attire consisting of a pink shirt, black skirt, black stockings and a pair of brown shoes. She smiled at Rin and Illya, before patting the top of their heads much the little one's glee "Though I tend to usually make it day to just appreciate my friends and family. So no need to get hook up hehe."
"If that's true, why do you have a card for Robbie?" Rin asked, smiling a little as she pointed at a small envelope Hana had in her left hand. The front facing inwards as the name 'Robbie' could be seen on it. Hana blushed quickly as she moved the card behind her
"I-I have no idea what you're talking about Rin!" Hana quickly defended, though Rin and Illya were just smirking back at older girl who like most; they'd come to call family. Hana being viewed as one of their many big sisters
"Why is small organic turning red?" Grimlock asked, as even after all this time. He still had NO idea on how to read organics and how they work when it came to their emotions
"Grimlock!" Hana scolded for the large bot to call her out like that, even if he had no idea of doing so
"You like Robbie, you like Robbie!" Illya began to sing a bit, in a teasing manner while Rin giggled and Grimlock was just confused
"SHH. Not so loud… I MEAN what are you talking about. No way, me and him are just… friends. YES just friends and nothing more." Hana tried to argued while saving face. Only the kids and even Grimlock despite his less then high intellect could tell she was lying. Much to Hana's further embarrassment "W-What?"
"Puny organic lying." Grimlock bluntly exclaimed as Hana felt her embarrassment grow being called out so quickly
"Preach!" Rin and Illya chimed in, patting the robots mechanical nose as Hana hoped something or someone would get their attention off of her card
But it seemed that fate was messing with the young lady, as someone did come to her rescue. The one person she really… REALLY didn't want to see her currently.
"Hey what's going on here?" Robbie asked, making his way over to the four as he gave Grimlock a nod alongside Hana who smiled sheepishly back. Though Robbie took notice of her blush and looked at the young girls with them. Smirking, he knelt next to them "Teasing Hana here?"
"Maybe…" Rin responded back, smiling a little as Robbie was to her and Illya a big brother
"Or maybe not." Illya added in. Both she and Rin giggling a little more as Illya still felt a bit mischievous "But Hana might have a little something for you."
"Illya?!" Hana screamed, realizing she'd been ratted out by one of her little sisters at the worst time
"She does, does she. Well.. ah... I guess that makes two of us." Robbie remarked, Hana flinching as she tried her best not to suddenly smile while Robbie pulled out a card of his own with the name 'Hana' written on it. Averting his gaze upwards and rubbed the back of his head, he handed it to her "I ah… just wanted to give you this you know. So here…"
"T-Thanks Robbie… really thanks." Hana replied back shyly as she took the card before handing her card to Robbie "A-And here's yours."
"Thanks." Robbie said as he took the card as he and Hana kept their gazes away from one another as they both seemed embarrassed
Meanwhile Illya and Rin just giggled some more as they watched this. Grimlock still confused at what was even being displayed, but kept quiet since Miss Kali asked him to behave during the party earlier and he respected the small if not scary organic woman. Though during this, Rin remembered suddenly that she had to check back with the person watching over her since her arrival in this place.
"Hey Illya, I have to see my granny. She said to check in on her every hour." Rin whispered as she hoped her granny wouldn't be to upset if she was a bit late
"It's okay Rin. I'm going to stay here with Grimlock. Besides I still have to put more heart sticker on him." Illya replied back as Grimlock felt like sighing; though Illya then looked to Hana and Robbie still being shy around one another "Oh and I'm going to keep watching this. It's cute and funny."
Rin simply nodded back. Before making her way off through the crowd of the other now official citizens of Traverse Town. To be honest as she looked at everyone she passed, she still found it odd at how well… normal everything was by this point. Like really normal, no one seemed out of place anymore. Then again it had been a good few months since the nice girls that were supposed to save them all. Went off again to continue on that objective.
From the humans, autobots, oddities and magical creatures alike. Rin could see everyone here was taking this chance to just talk, in a relaxed manner that didn't have the usual tension that was there. Rin though, if she had to be honest about this place and these people since she arrived herself. She'd come to like a lot of people here as family and this town to her felt like… home. Home, sweet home. Even more then her home back in her own world.
But she stopped her train of thought when she saw a few people standing in the area her granny was supposed to be at. Moving closer she saw there was a stage set up currently. With a dozen people on it. From the right to left, she saw many who she considered uncles, aunties, big brothers and big sisters.
It started off with the red colored samurai Toyohisa who Rin thought was a cool if not a bit blunt uncle, next being the human Mao who had been nice to her so far when he was around; also like an uncle. After him was the female Neptune who also was a really nice girl so far to her; and was like her big-ish sister. Next to her was Yuffie who was a really cool big sister figure to her. After her was the monkey tailed boy Sun who'd made he laugh quite a bit and was the funny big brother. Next to him sat someone else from his world being Nadir who also had been very kind so far, along with being another big brother figure. Those were the ones on the right side.
On the left starting from the end to the center was Waver someone from her world and a bit of an odd one, but a nice enough person to her; even if he was a bit of a newer generation magnus along with being the more easily irritated big brother. After him sat her super smart uncle Bruce or Hulk when he was the giant green monster, that along with teaching her stuff on the so called 'science' that her father said she didn't need to know much on.
After Mister banner was what she'd considered one of her quirky big brothers, Peter or Star Lord. Anyways after him was Hunter who'd been kind enough to teach her and the kids some survival tips during these few months; that and he was like her more serious uncle. Lancer was next and Rin was a bit shy around him, since he was so well knightly with her; but like everyone else she liked him plenty like a nice big brother. Then finally was of all people Miss GoodWitch. Who though stern, was also very nice to her when she was under her watch. That and she acted like her mother in a way, not that anyone could replace her own mother. But, Glynda was a mother like figure to her in this place.
Now seeing these twelve people, Rin took notice they all sat on a long bench by her guess. Since there was long table there too. With a white cloth draped over it and finally, Rin also noticed Pinkie Pie's fluffy tail behind the curtains along with the smell of something sweet being cooked. Though as Rin inspected what was going on, she felt a pat on the top of her head. Looking she saw even more of the friends/ family she'd made during her stay here. Those being two more of her big sister figures from Remnant being May and Arslan, while with them was the nice lady Koko who was like a aunt to her, while holding in her arms the soft cat who could talk also named Mao. Who even if he was a cat, saw him kind of like an uncle in a weird way.
"Hey Rin. What are you doing here?" May asked, in a less then shy manner as she usually had; but since she'd gotten to know Rin pretty well she wasn't as shy
"Yeah, did you come to watch the food eating competition?" Koko mused as she gave Rin a kind smile, while Mao simply stayed silent
"Food eating competition?" Rin questioned as she didn't remember that being part of the party
"Yeah it's was actually surprise part of the party. Pinkie Pie's making the sweet and if all the stories I keep hearing about her sweets are true. Then I can't wait to get a bite after the competition is done." Arslan explained, before looking at Mao "Still say that Peter's gonna win. That guy can eat."
"Maybe so. But I think your teacher Glynda will win." Mao replied back smirking the best a cat could "She's a lot more then you see her as."
"Right..." Arslan replied as she didn't find that likely, since Miss Goodwitch was a health nut and everyone who'd gotten to know the woman over these few months knew it
"Anyways. You here to watch Rin?" May asked once more, as Rin always felt at ease around May especially since she reminded her of her si… Sakura who she missed even if she wasn't supposed to
"No sorry May. I'm supposed to find my granny and tell her I'm still doing good. She's likes it when I check in." Rin explained as she really did need to check in with her granny soon
"Oh Eileen. I think she's actually around the back of the hotel. Said she needed to do something before she joined in. But maybe you should stay here for now Rin, I'm sure she's fine." Mao explained, as he'd come to like the kids a lot and a bit protective of them during their time here
"I know. But I have to, I promise granny I would." Rin stated as she was always good on her word, well mostly unless she forgot by accident which was rare
"Then how about I keep you company?" Max suddenly suggested, coming from up from the left as everyone looked at him; but his attention was on Rin "Besides she has Dinki-Di with her and I just want to see if the dogs behaving well enough."
"Okay then, thanks Max!" Rin replied back happily as even if Max still kind of scared her at times; he was like the gruff cool uncle to her. A somewhat depressing uncle, but an uncle no doubt. Looking back at the others as Max took her hand she lent, she waved the others a good bye "Tell me who wins!"
The others there just nodded back. Before Rin and Max were off, making their way through the crowd before they made it to the stairs leading to upper part of the area around the hotel. Max by this point had lifted Rin up and placed her on his shoulders. Rin didn't mind though, she gotten use to him doing that. Mainly because he wasn't a patient man. That and she had heard that Max USE to have wife and kid. She might be young, but she knew enough to know what that meant. So she let Max do this, her belief that maybe it would help Max one day heal mentally or at least a bit.
Still as the two walked up the stairs, then made their way around the hotel to the back of it. Rin was set down, before Dinki-Di ran up to her. Licking the girls face as she giggled, petting the dog she and the kids had gotten to like quite a bit.
"Hi Dinki-Di. Good boy!" Rin cheered as she petted the dog a bit more before Max pulled him off. Then they saw Eileen walking up, alongside Yin who's feet were wet and bare, as it seemed she was using her specter powers again. But Rin was just happy to see them all, especially her granny as the little on ran up to her "Granny!"
"Hehe hello Rin." Eileen replied back as she pulled Rin into a hug, getting used to being called granny by now by her surrogate granddaughter "Coming to check in again?"
"Yep like you said granny!" Rin happily answered as Eileen chuckled, but was happy Rin was such a well behaved if not at times stubborn child. Rin moments later was released from her grannies hug, as she looked to Yin. Running up to her and hugged the girl too "Hi big sis!"
"Hello to you Rin. Having fun at the party?" Yin asked as she simply patted the top of Rin's head. Though Rin was use to that since she and other kids knew Yin wasn't the best when it came to hugs or showing emotions much; but her head pats were all she needed to show her love for them
"Yep. Elder sister Maria said me and the kids needed to stay away from eating too many sweets though. That and to behave. But I'm good on both sides, besides I'm not much of a sweets kids. That and the stupid boys. Except for Johnna and Huey, are the only ones who misbehave. Well maybe Scootaloo, Kim, Tina and AppleBloom at times too. But me, Illya and Sweetie Belle are always good girls." Rin explained as she also during these months had learned quite a bit about all her kid friends
Like for one, the boys and a few of the girls were more prone to doing stupid acts. Like playing pranks and just misbehaving at times. Especially Scootaloo and Louie. Those two were peas in a pod. Still she at least was the best behave… mostly. Okay maybe she can be mischievous at times, but still she was one of the more properly behaved kids here. Though she also learned that even if they were all friends, the kids one way or another always seemed to get into arguments. Only one small fight ever happened, that was between Louie and Illya. Mainly Louie's fault since he was pulling Illya's hair harder the he realized. That and it was also learned that Illya did NOT like her hair being touched unless she gave them permission. Thankfully the fight was stopped by some of the adults, that and thankfully Illya and Louie apologized to one another. Still Rin sometimes found it odd she made such... diverse friends so far.
"I see then." Yin replied as she had been one of the caretakers for the kids who oddly seemed to like her plenty despite her own knowing of her lack of human like qualities usually creeped people out. She looked back up moments later and stared at Max "Thank you for keeping an eye on her Max."
"Hm." Max simply huffed, though saw Rin smiling at him from the corner of his eye and he smiled just a bit back. But moments later, Dinki-Di seemed to stiffen before he looked back and began to bear his fangs which everyone took notice of
Not even seconds later, Max pulled his shotgun out and Eileen her blade before standing in front of Rin in a protective manner. While Yin moved next to Rin and held her close. All the while Dinky-Di growled still before the sounds of footsteps. loud one's could be heard and as from the shadows ahead came a large beast. One that they'd all learned was a Grimm. One called a Beowulf. A single one, but still it's size was quite bigger than anyone else as it stared at them with its red eyes.
"Grrr…." The Beowulf growled, taking a few steps closer by the second to the group. The group standing their ground; though Rin was the most visibly scared as she clung onto Yin
A spilt second later and the Beowulf swung at them; but missed. Dinki-Di going for the legs as he latched in his jaw to the Grimm's left leg. Eileen dodging another swing from its left arm and almost getting hit. Max meanwhile aimed his shotgun and pulled the trigger. But a back hand swipe from the Beowulf's right claw pushed Max back into the wall next to him as fired. Making him miss as he dropped his gun. Then the Beowulf kicked Dinki-Di off as the dog hit the ground whining a bit.
Eileen meanwhile took this chance and ran at the beast. Dodging yet another quick swipe from it, before rolling behind the Grimm and jumping on its back. Then she stabbed it in the shoulder a few times as it began to thrash around a bit to try and throw her off. Which didn't work fully, only enough that it forced Eileen to hold on for dear life as the Beowulf thrashed about.
But by this time, Dinki-Di got back up and even in pain. The hound decided to help once more as he ran at the Beowulf; before ramming his head into the Grimm's stomach. The sudden force making the Beowulf fall back as Eileen quickly moved off to the side to avoid being crushed under.
Though as the Beowulf hit the ground in pain from being bitten, stabbed and the rammed in the stomach. Max who'd finally gotten up himself and had his gun back in his hand. Stomped his right foot on the Beowulf's chest before shoving the barrel of his shotgun into the beasts mouth. Then firing off the second shell as the Beowulf's head exploded into chunks of flesh. The body twitching a bit, before it began to dissolve into smoke. Max taking a breather as he ejected his spent shells, before reloading.
"That... was irritating." Max simply stated, as he knelt down and petted Dinki-Di who seemed to at least haven't broken anything "Good boy."
"Yes good boy. Same with you Max, thank you for the help here." Eileen replied, before looking back to see Yin having covered Rin's eyes; Rin herself still clinging on Yin a bit shaken "Yin did she…"
"No. I covered her eyes before, I know children should not see this sort of violence." Yin replied back, looking to Max "No offense."
"Nah, none taken." Max mused as he was relieved Yin was smart enough to cover the kids eyes
"Still good to hear. Thank you Yin." Eileen chimed in, before taking her mask off and kneeling down next to Rin who's eyes were finally uncovered by Yin "Are you okay Rin. You seemed a bit shaken up?"
"Y-Yes I'm fine granny. It just sounded scary is all…" Rin answered as she felt a little uneasy admitting this, but she was glad it was at least with people who cared for her; Dinki-Di moving closer and licking her face just to help with her mood "Hehe. Good boy."
"Arf!" Dinki-Di barked as Rin started to pet him again, meanwhile Max got back up and moved over to the women
"Anyways. I guess that's done with, but I'm a little worried why one those things showed up back here of all places and alone too." Max exclaimed, as that seemed odd; very odd especially having learned most Grimm were animals in general when came to cognitive function; well that was the basic belief amongst the natives of Remnant "Should we tell the others?"
"I don't think we should. I may not be the best when it comes to emotions. But I think we should keep this to us for now. This is a party after all, even I could tell things were tense for the most part. So this party is needed. Not just because it's a holiday. But also because it's a way for everyone to enjoy a day and hopefully week without worry." Yin explained as she did make a point, even at their calmest before today. It was still tense and filled with small hints of anxiety, so this party was for those to celebrate the holidays to do so and so everyone could start to actually enjoy their stay here with little to no worries "That and before you ask. I don't think any of them heard your gun shots or our fight. It's kind of loud down there."
"She's right. I might not like it. But I think for now we should keep it to ourselves, maybe after the party we'll talk to Glynda. She is the town's leader." Eileen answered as she didn't like to keep this a secret for the time be. As to be honest the fact alone that a Grimm came in from nowhere behind the hotel of all places meant something was going on. But looking at the still somewhat uneasy Rin who was petting Dinki-Di. She knew Rin needed to relax, so putting her mask back on; then picking up her surrogate granddaughter as she was still small enough to do so for Eileen at least. She smiled a bit under her mask while patting Rin's head with her free hand. Quickly she noticed Rin's shaking nearly cease "Well now. Rin are you good for the party still. I'm sure they're be a lot of sugary sweets for you to eat."
"I am. But I don't eat sweet much… well sometimes. Maybe I'll have some cookies, if you have some too granny." Rin stated as she blushed a little, while Eileen chuckled
"We'll see." Eileen simply stated, before making her way off and back to the party "Come along everyone. Let's enjoy this party."
With that, everyone else followed. All of them deciding to just enjoy the day and bring up the uneasy discovery later. Besides, it's not like they were being invaded or were under attack at the moment. So might as well enjoy the day of relaxation while they could…
Hero's Tale Vol.2 #1 (Final)- Unsettling news…
It had been a week after the party. Everyone was in much better spirits since then, mainly because they all just got a chance to relax and get to know one another even better. Sure some were still pretty quiet in general when in groups. But it was in a more friendly manner then anything. But aside from the rather nice week after so far. The current mood was anything but nice.
Well to be exact it was more of just silence. Unsettling, eerie silence as inside of a meeting room . That was just one of the hotel rooms make shifted into one. Sitting around small circular wooden table. Was Glynda, Nobunaga and Angela who'd been the one's invited. While Sid, Celestia and Merlin were the one's who had called for this meeting. Currently the one's invited were the only one's to be, since the other leaders were busy helping out with the town patrols; but that was fine. Though it was still eerily quiet for the invited.
"So…." Glynda began to say, as everyone looked to her while the woman sighed internally a little hating being the center of attention here. But she kept on "Sid, you're the one who set up this meeting right. To show us something?"
"Yeah I did. I've just ah… been trying to figure out some way to tell you all gently." Sid answered, cringing a bit when Glynda raised an eyebrow at that along with Nobunaga and Angela
"The hell do you mean by that?" Nobunaga asked, sounding a little irritated at the wording Sid used
"Nobu I'm sure he's just trying to be considerate is all. No need to bite his head off." Angela chastised as Nobunaga grumbled, not daring to anger the woman who'd been quite the Chief medic these past months; months that he learned this woman could be scary when she wanted to be. Angela sighing seeing Nobu's usual attitude was still the same when irritated, decided to just pull her focus back to Sid "Still um… what do you mean exactly by 'gently' Sid?"
"Right…" Sid muttered, standing up before pulling from under the table a small projector. Setting it on the table, he motioned to Celestia and Merlin who nodded back . Celestia using her magic to turn the lights off just, while Merlin turned the projector on; showing a moment later a image with a title that said 'Project Notes'. Sid standing to the right of the projector before clearing his throat "Ahem. Now then, first before I explain this to you three. I'll say, the reasons I invited Celestia and Merlin here is because I ask them for their personal input for this particular project of mine."
"Project?" Glynda asked as she was more confused than before by this point, looking to Celestia first then Merlin and once more to Celestia "What project and what help did you two even provide him?"
"Patients Glynda. I promise to you, Nobu here and Angela it will make sense once Sid starts explaining." Celestia answered back kindly, before looking to Sid "Sid."
"Right thank you Celestia." Sid answered back, taking out the small toothpick he kept in his mouth before placing it on the table. The projector switching to an image of Sid standing next to a grey box "Now then. This is me and a project I had been working on even before our four little saviors showed up. It's a machine that I had wanted to use to detect oddities within magical hot spots and general universal hot spots too. The initial belief that maybe it could help us to detect the Heartless. Sadly it never worked. That was until it started to pick something else up. Something much different and something also rather… unsettling."
"Unsettling as in…?" Nobunaga questioned as he mad small hand motion to go and give them more information than just that
"As in it could change how some of us could view this whole wait and see job, while we wait for those girls to save us." Merlin explained calmly, if not with some slight uneasiness in his tone "Trust me I'm being fully serious on that statement with you."
"Okay… so what is it. I mean what could be so bad that it could cause issues amongst our own?" Glynda asked as she just wanted some answers by this point instead of beating around the bush "Please Sid, just tell us."
"Fine. Just don't blame me if this effects your mood." Sid replied back, before the projectors image switched to a graph with two colored lines going to one end to another. One green, one purple. Both looking rather similar to each other aside from a few different angel points "Now first off what you see here is a chart I made when I realized my so believed useless invention actually worked. But instead of heartless, it detected the wave lengths of time itself."
"Time… like in, time-time?" Nobunaga asked as even he knew that was… not normal "Because if that's what you mean. You're gonna have to explain that shit to me a BIT more."
"I'm going to don't worry. Anyways, yes time itself is what my machine seems to be able to track, scan and monitor. That said, this is where the… troubling aspects start showing." Sid replied back, before motioning everyone attention back to the projected image before them "First off answer me this you three. What do you think this chart represents in the terms of time?"
"…." Nobunaga didn't say as he just thought it over
"Um. Maybe time in our area or something?" Glynda answered as honestly that was her best guess. At least that one of the lines in the chart represented them "Angela you see what I'm saying right?"
"I do. But I don't know what else there could be." Angela explained, before looking over to Nobunaga "Nobu?"
"Got me. I ain't great with this time crap." Nobunaga answered with a shrug, as Glynda at least sighed at the man's usual bluntness even if it wasn't ill willed
"Right… well then. Sid, can you explain what this chart represents exactly?" Glynda asked, though she was getting a little worried now at what this must mean if Sid had been trying to find a way to tell them all gently
"Actually Merlin can. He's the one who brought up the theory that me and Celestia agreed upon with him." Sid answered sitting back down, as Merlin got up himself before moving to the spot Sid had been
"Right, right. Now as Sid said, after his first initial discovery of this. He called us in to see if either of us could trace magic at all and we did." Merlin explained, before Celestia stood up getting everyone's attention
"If you don't mind me saying something." Celestia asked as Merlin gave her a nod that it was fine. Celestia nodding back "Thank you Merlin. So I should also add in that Sid's machine only picked this signal up recently."
"How recently?" Angela asked this time, as she, Nobunaga and Glynda listened hoping it was at least some good news
"When the girls last left." Sid cut in, much to the shock of Glynda, Angela and even Nobunaga a bit
"Seriously. That was a while ago too, three months to be exact." Nobunaga answered as this just a bit more troubling "But what does this mean?"
"It means that my theory is a possible morale killer if don't mind my words." Merlin explained, though felt bad that he was going to have to be honest about this next part and wished he could lie just a bit if only to help the morale stay high "My theory was this. As you three see, these lines on the chart are very similar in appearance. Aside from one being the green a bit different from the one that's purple. The green is us and the purple are the girls. With that said, I'd theorized that the differences in the two lines means a difference in time between our home here and the girls current location."
"Which means…" Glynda began to say, before going wide eyed realizing the implications on what Marlins theory presented. Sid, Celestia and Merlin saw this and couldn't help but pity their appointed leader who'd have to be the one to break to news to everyone else if this theory really was true
"Yes, it's highly likely that here until later on. The time zones between us here in Traverse Town and the girls when they go to other worlds. Could vary to various different degrees. For example, for us we've been here for at least four months in total now. When for the girls left it had only been nearing the end of the first month of your stay here." Merlin explained, before motioning Celestia to go next
"So we theorized together a few possibilities more here. First possibility is that it's a fluke and that maybe Sid's machine miscalculated. The second possibility is that for us it's been three months; but for the girls it's been three years. Then third is that for the girls it's only been three weeks, but for us three months which to be honest is the most worrying of them all. Mainly because these future time disruptions could be possibly random for each world here on the girls go to. Meaning we have no way of knowing exactly when this could all be over." Celestia explained in, before Sid decided to take over now patting Celestia's front shoulder as she just nodded understanding
"To put it shorty. We could possibly be stuck here for a very long time and... well we may have to get use to the idea of this being our permeant home." Sid explained in a much simpler manner, though he felt truly awful having to do so after how good things were feeling this past week
Nobunaga himself was shocked, though scowled a bit too as he seemed angered by this news; but at least didn't blame anyone in here for the news. Angela was distraught as she just cupped her mouth with both her hands as she rested her elbows on the table. Like she was contemplating a lot of things all of sudden. Glynda well, her reaction to this was different.
"Oh…." Glynda simply said, before just standing up and walking of the room. Once outside she looked to her left seeing a window that showed the lower section of the Gateway Distract. Looking down seeing some of the refuges doing their patrols. Moving back from the windows she pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed "How am I going to tell them…"
"Curious: Tell who what?" HK-97 asked all of sudden as Glynda flinched a little before looking behind seeing that somehow HK had appeared behind her without making much noise like he usually did when he walked
"I… nothing, nothing HK. If you'll excuse me." Glynda replied as she just walked past the droid not in the mood to tell him anything, but she stopped when she felt the droids left hand grab her right wrists. She was about to scream at the droid, if only she didn't hear what HK had to say next
"Remark: Is this because of the time zone differentiations my mistress will be experiencing from here on out?" HK-97 asked, as Glynda turned around to the droid; who himself had kept a hold on her right wrist as he turned to face her too "Statement: Is something the matter, you seem rather angry all of sudden. Was it something I… said?"
"H-How did you know about that?" Glynda demanded, as she felt a sudden rage towards HK-97 while sporting a glare "Well, were you easy dropping?!"
"Rebuttal: Perish the thought Glynda I have no need for that sort of shady trickery. No simply I always knew this would happen eventually." HK-97 answered, as Glynda once more was wide eyed; though she gritted her teeth a bit as she kept glaring at HK-97
"Then why didn't you tell any of us or better yet why didn't tell the girls?!" Glynda demanded again, as she swore she just wanted to punch this droid's head clean off right now
"Explanation: To answer the second part of your question. Simply, my mistress have enough to worry about and I as their bodyguard thought it would be more harmful then good to their performance if they learned this truth early on. But I'm sure they'll learn sooner or later." HK-97 explained, as Glynda still glared. Well before she stopped when she felt HK-97 tighten his grip a little as Glynda could feel her aura starting to chip away from the hold alone. Though HK also brought Glynda's face closer to his. The woman swore she could see HK-97 smiling, at least a phantom smile from how uneasy HK-97 was making Glynda feel currently. Didn't help with his next answer "Further and truthful explanation: I also kept this a secret because I wanted to see the look on your face when you found out and may I say… it is quite amusing. Hehe."
Then just like that HK-97 let go of Glynda, than began to walk away. Glynda couldn't help but feel more creeped out by what HK-97 just said. Sure the droid had been rather uneasy before. But for some reason, knowing now that the droid kept something like this time him for so long. Just to get some amusement out of it. Creeped Glynda out. Though it also angered her, but for now she would keep what HK just said to herself until the girls came back. Maybe they could do a thing or two to set that droid straight. Still one thing was clear to Glynda.
HK-97 though loyal to the girls, was not an ally to everyone else…
-Tales Final: The Lord Of Darkness…-
Once more, we visit the pitch black throne room of the Lord Of Darkness. Silence filled the room as the Lord simply sat upon his throne. Seeming not bored. Just in thought as he was looking up at the celling of his room. Just sitting and thinking. Thinking so very much. Honestly he didn't have much to do anyways lately. His agents were on the placed worlds he knew the Keyblade wielders would soon visit and re-visit later on. That and he had his priests on some of the other worlds, one's who's names he probably didn't remember well. Unlike his agents who he'd put years into training into the agents they were now, everyone else in his army was basically expendable. Which again, was one of many reasons he was rather free on his day lately. So free, so bored and so much time to simply think.
"What are you thinking about?"
The Lord Of Darkness for a moment flinched as he heard the voice form behind his throne. But kept looking ahead, when he realizing it was her again. The odd woman who seemed to talk to him at times like these. Though not once did he ever look back at her oddly, that and he couldn't help to always feel the want to talk back with this woman. This woman who's voice oddly seemed familiar. In a soothing and happy way. Still he once more felt the need to reply back and so he did.
"Nothing." The Lord of Darkness simply proclaimed, hoping that would be a good enough answer as even if he felt the need to talk. He never really liked it when he had to talk about his duties as the ruler of this place of his. Usually he just like to talk about whatever else with this woman
"Nothing. How can think of nothing, for if it's nothing then you wouldn't be thinking at all." The woman quipped, calm as usual in her tone; but also with a slight sternness that she didn't appreciate him lying to her
"I... fine I'll tell you." The Lord of Darkness exclaimed. Though as he cleared his throat, for moment he thought maybe he could try and side track her with nonsense. But he quickly dashed those plans away, as it wasn't worth it and the woman was being polite. So he might as well be polite back "If you must know. I was thinking about those four keyblade wielders."
"Oh you are. Are you Planning on killing them soon, let me guess why. Because they're overly optimistic?" The woman guessed as she had a feeling that could be it; though she did take notice when the Lord Of Darkness chuckled a little "Something funny?"
"No just... I actually like that about those four. Their optimism I mean." The Lord of Darkness remarked sounding a bit happier all of sudden as he puffed his chest in pride "I'm quite the optimist myself you know!"
"… Really?" The woman questioned as that seemed… odd considering the mans role in life
"Well yeah. Is that hard to believe?" The Lord of Darkness questioned as he seemed a bit offended from the statement alone "What. Just because I'm the Lord of Darkness doesn't mean I have to be some nihilistic edge lord. That's just painting a stereotype. Besides if I'm gonna live my life out, might as well be a positive one. Who in their right mind would want to live in constant misery and hate. Sounds kind of petty if you ask me. You know?"
"…. You know what… just… okay." The woman simply replied back as she hadn't even said anything about everything he just spoke on. But it seemed the Lord of Darkness had a certain hatred for a certain type of people. If his words, tone and bluntness alone were reasons enough there. But she was still a bit confused by the man before her "You're an odd one, you know that… so very contradicting yet not at the same time."
"Why's that. I think I'm pretty simple if you ask me." The Lord of Darkness replied back, as it seemed he really only took offense when his character was in question
"The fact that you seem to be a rather optimistic man despite your role in life being that of the ruler of darkness, misery etc. That's one point. I could think of a few others but…" The woman said as she just let it be and decided to bring the conversation back to the main point of her questions "Never mind, look can you just tell me why you were thinking of those girls?"
"If you must know. I was just thinking on what fun they'll be." The Lord of Darkness answered amusingly as he chuckled some straightening himself on his throne. Though he seemed like such a child currently, so happy and gleeful as he summoned a chest board. Custom pieces on each side in the colors of black and white. The pieces on his side being white with himself as the king piece. On the other side of the board pieces of team RWBY and their allies that accompany them n the color black. As he gazed upon the board seeming happy as can be, he was already seeming to strategize too "I'm so excited too. The second act is coming around and I can't want to face off against the Keyblade wielders. It's gonna be so cool!"
"…." The woman meanwhile didn't say at first. Before a sigh could be heard by the Lord of Darkness, followed by an amused snort "Truly you are but a child in the end. Still ever so excitable aren't you. Just like your father."
"Hehe. Well of course. As the saying goes, like father; like son." The Lord of Darkness replied back, smiling a bit as he finally realized why this woman sounded so familiar to him. Smiling for once and feeling.. truly happy. He looked back behind his throne for the first time to face this woman "Right mom!"
But as he looked back, no one was there… right. She was dead… when he… right. Though as he just stared ahead. He hadn't notice that one of the maids came in. Looking at her Lord who seemed to be… out of it. Which was odd since her Lord was always so focused and calm minded when he addressed them.
"My Lord?" The maid asked, as the Lord of Darkness looked to the maid who flinched almost. But kept her composure thankfully "A-Are you okay, who were just talking to?"
"….. No one." The Lord answered, before standing back up from his throne seeming to be in thought as the maid just kept quiet. Though she didn't expect what would happen next as the Lord of Darkness walked by her. He started to laugh, not like his usual laugh. No more of a broken type of laugh "Hehe... you know it's funny… really funny…"
"My Lord?" The maid yet again asked, though a bit more hesitant as she moved just a bit closer to the man; though it seemed her lord was in another world of his own in a way
"I… I use to hear so many stories… so many stories from my Uncle Sora and my aunt Kari. I wanted to be just like them. The bestest hero in this universe!" The Lord of Darkness suddenly shouted to someone. Someone the maid knew wasn't there. Still she just staying in place as she watched this oddness happen. But her lord seemed to be not done yet as his small fits of laughter sounded more painful then pleasurable now "But I couldn't… no. No… I gave that dream up. For her… my beloved sister. Everything I did back then. Was because I loved my sister so much, my perfect; wonderful sister. Who I couldn't allow to embrace that darkness. I didn't care if her affinity was with the darkness. I refused to let her be touched by it... so I did in her place. For her..."
"W-What are talking about my Lord, what's going on with you?" The maid getting up enough nerve asked, becoming worried as no one until her; had ever seen their lord seem so… venerable. But she flinched finally when her Lord looked back at her and grabbed her shoulders. The man dwarfing her quite a bit, but again she didn't expect what he did next
"I DID MY BEST… my best. I…. I had to do it. I HAD TOO!" The Lord of Darkness began to just shout at the maid as she was starting to believe her Lord was going through a mental break down or something. It only made it more shocking to the maid when she saw her Lord fall to his knees and just start to hit his head over; and over again "I couldn't stop when I started…. I….. I did what I thought was best mom… I did IT ALL FOR HER!"
The Lord then just started to cry, like really cry. Mumbling something as he even started even claw his helmet a bit. The maid though shocked a bit, couldn't but… pity this man. This man who she and everyone else knew murdered many of their fellow workers on daily basis. But again, she couldn't but pity this man and without realizing. She simply sat down on her knees, but when she did take notice of what she'd done. Another thing surprised her, the Lord moved closer to her and just rested his helmeted head on her lap.
The maid meanwhile felt surreal in way. She was just one of many maids their Lord hired daily to replace the one's he usually murdered for a number of reasons. But despite all that was known of their Lord, this was something different. That she of all the maids would find herself in a situation like this. But the maid simply let it be, maybe she'd be killed once her Lord came back to his sense. Maybe not, either way. Even if she did died by the end of today by her lords own hands. She could at least have this small memory in her bland life.
.
.
Though as the nameless maid of little importance kept soothing her lord. The Lord of Darkness himself, was seeing something completely different as he laid his head on the maids lap.
.
.
It was his old home, inside the room he and his sister shared. The drawings, old toys, old games and just about everything you'd see in a shared room of teen siblings. But currently it was only him in his younger form. His peach skin, grey hair, grey wolf ears, green eyes, grey wolf tail laid on the bed. He looked just like his sister, only more masculine. He noticed he was wearing his usual attire when training. But again this was a sight the Lord of Darkness nearly forgotten after so many years. For he laid his head on a woman lap. His mother's lap.
The woman was beauty to behold too, like him and his sister. She had grey hair and wolf like appendages on him. Wearing a simply green summer dress and brown sandals. This woman to the Lord's current state of mind, was smiling down at him while she stroked the side of his head. Though in this… memory. Yes this fragment of memory. The Lord of Darkness eyes were red a bit and he sniffled. But yet again, his mother simply stroked the side of his head as he rested on her lap.
"Now will you tell me what's the matter my little king?" The voice of his mother asked, so soft and angelic like he remembered at times like these
"I'm just… just tired is all… tried." The young Lord answered, his voice much more high pitched then his deep voice now as he curled up a little "I don't want… want to do this training anymore."
"I know my little king. But you have too, you and your sister; my king and queen are so special. Your father and I can tell so easily, you both are going to do so much good." His mother explained, some encouragement following too as the Lord simply nodded "Though, if it will help. Would you like me to sing your song?"
"Please..." The Lord of Darkness replied back, feeling a bit better already thanks to his mother
His mother only nodded back a silent yes, never ceasing to smile as she stroked the side of his head still. Clearing her throat a bit herself. She knew exactly what song to sing. The Lord meanwhile remembering too, as it was a song made for especially him. Like how his mother had one for his sister solely and one for both of them. Still the lord simply nuzzled a bit more against his mother's lap to listen to her lovely song.
"My Little King…. so strong and brave.
I know you're scared, but it's okay.
You don't have be afraid. Because you are so strong and brave.
So don't fear, whatever come next in these years.
And remember, I'll always be here.
So Little King never worry or fear.
Because mother will always be here."
Even though it wasn't the longest or even the best sounding song. It was a song the Lord of Darkness remembered he loved. Because it was from his mother. So he laid on her lap in this small memory of his. Enjoying the warmth and moment of peace he had then.
But back in the current moment, the maid who was now gently stroking the helmet of her Lord. Noticed something different about the man… he seemed actually happy for once. It wasn't a secret that everyone could tell the Lord played his happiness as a mask in some ways. Even when he seemed happy while killing. It always seem to be just a mask. Still this was nice… different; but nice.
"Mom…." The Lord of Darkness simply whispered as the maid just let him have this one moment of real peace
But one thing was for sure. The maid truly could only feel pity for her Lord, and now for some reason. She didn't seem to feel any kind of fear of him anymore. Maybe it was because she came to a conclusion about her Lord now. The man, despite all he was known for in the ways of violence and murder. Seemed to her now, to be nothing more then a broken tired child...
And that's a wrap, yet like I said short, simple, sweet. I hope you all liked it, I like always enjoyed writing it. Anyways though as you can see, the dear Lord of Darkness is little more different then how's he's been portrayed. But after the other reveal by the Queen of Light in the pervious interlude. This is just a glimpse on his side of things, even if by just a little.
P.S: Also just one more time to remind everyone. But the first original chapter of this fic. Is on my Archive Of Our Own account. Under the same name as this profile. So if you're a new reader, just go on Archive Of Our Own, and look up Owriush. The first original chapter should be there. That and I'll do my best to get the re-writes of the older chapters out. : )
Still aside from that. I hope you all enjoy the chapters to come and I thank every last one of you for sticking by this story. I know it's not the best and such, but I really appreciate all your support through these years. So until next we speak, I wish you all the safest and best days ahead. Ciao!
