Sorry I keep failing you all! I've been so busy and I have to travel for both work and school. :'(

I still own nothing.

It was 5am and she was on her usual morning run through central park when she saw him the first time. He was running at a speed much like her own, far faster than any other humans she had ever met. So she started a friendly race, that race continued the next day and the next week and the month after that. They would always meet at a certain point then run until their paths separated, neither spoke they just ran, smiled, and laughed.

After the third month she decided to not split off at the normal point but follow him through to his end point. He seemed confused at first but just smiled through to the end. When they slowed down to a walk they both turned to fully take each other in. He was dressed in his usual gray shirt and black pants while she was in her purple jogger jacket over a black sports bra and matching pants.

Smiling she extended her hand for him to shake, "Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude on the rest of your run but I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Kagome Higurashi."

He takes her hand smiling back, "Oh it was no intrusion, I'm Steve Rogers."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Rogers."

"You as well Mrs. Higurashi but please call me Steve."

"Only if you call me Kagome."

"Absolutely Kagome." He continues smiling but looks down at his feet before looking back up at her, "Would you like to get some coffee?"

"That would be fantastic, but only if you can tell me where you learned to run like that."

Steve laughs as he leads the way down the street, "I was planning on asking you the same thing."

Giggling Kagome shakes her head, "A lot of practice and years of training, you?"

"Same." He smiles as he opens the door to a coffee shop for her and they step in line. "So do you do anything other than run?"

"I practice yoga and some hand-to-hand but it's mainly just lots of cardio."

"That's a very full range workout."

"Yes my boss/brother is very demanding that I be well rounded in all aspects." Conversation pauses as they order their drinks and wait find a table outside to sit.

"So what other workouts do you do?"

"I do a mix of just about everything, well everything except yoga."

Kagome smiles and takes a sip of her coffee, "You should try it sometime it really soothes your soul."

Steve smirks and nods, "I may have to try it then."

"I always recommend it. So, Steve, what do you do that needs you so active?"

He pauses and shrugs before replying "I work for the government. What do you do that requires lots of cardio?

"Absolutely nothing, well not that I do nothing but my job doesn't actually require me to be so fit, in fact most people in my position aren't, but my brother is my boss and he likes things his way or no way so I have to be able to keep up with him in most every aspect. I'm his assistant mostly."

"So how's that?"

"It's fine until there's a meeting with anyone he doesn't like working with, then I get to sit in and be the mediator or human shield." She scrunches her nose in distaste before smiling again. "So, how's the government?" pausing for a second she stops and pulls her phone out, looking at the name and scrunching her nose again she looks back up at Steve, "I'm so sorry do you mind if I get this?"

Steve frowns slightly but shakes his head, "No, by all means please."

Kagome sends him another apologetic smile before answering and putting the phone to her ear, "Good morning, Sesshomaru."

"You're late. Why have you yet to reenter the tower your run finished a half hour ago."

"I'm with a friend and we got some coffee. There's still another hour and a half before your first meeting for the day."

"No, Imouto, Stark Industries rescheduled their later meeting for a meeting at 8. Meaning you have 20 minutes to get back to the tower to shower and change before preparing for a briefing in my office."

As he's speaking she's standing from the table and grabbing her things, "Fine, I got it I'll be right there." Hanging up she looks at the now standing Steve with a sad smile. "I'm so sorry that I have to cut this short, a meeting just came up."

Steve chuckles, "With someone he doesn't like I'm assuming."

She smiles, "Oh you have no idea. Will I see you tomorrow?"

"Of course where else will I run?"

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow then. And thank you for the coffee, next time it's my treat." With that she smiles and waves before running off in the direction of her building.

They continued meeting for runs and coffees. Then coffees became lunch and lunch became dinner or movies. She started asking him to be her guest at all the business functions and dress events.

At his second business party he was more fidgety then normal, taking the elevator up he watched his feet before looking up at her.

"Kagome," he looks her in the eyes before continuing, "Would you do me the honor of dating me and being my girlfriend."

She smiles at him before pulling him down for a kiss as the elevator comes to a stop, the doors open as she breaks the kiss and takes his hand, "I thought I already was." With that she leads him out to enjoy the party.
