I'm back again and trying to get back in the flow of things, thank you for being so patient.

I still own nothing.

New York city was never one for dull moments, which is in fact one of the main reasons why she chose to move, and with her teaching credentials there was enough there to keep her in the city for a good time to come. It was her second-year teaching at the University of New York and she finally felt comfortable in her position, getting to know the faculty and students, there was one particular student however, that always managed to stand out.

There was a knock on the door as she was getting ready to leave for class, "Just a second." Grabbing a stack of papers she opens the door and just about runs into someone, "Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were that close to the door." pausing for a moment to recognize the person, "Mr. Parker, nice to see you. Shouldn't you be in my classroom waiting for it to start?"

"Hi Professor H, um yes I should be in class but I wanted to speak to you first, if that's alright."

"Yes, sure, why don't we walk to class together." She smiles and gestures for him to start walking, "Now you wouldn't be wanting to discuss your attendance record for my class, would you?"

He ducks his head in a shrug, "I wish that I could explain."

"I understand more than you realize but I am worried that it's going to start effecting your performance and your grade. And I'm sure that your "mentor" can make things rather interesting as well."

Stopping he fully looks at her, "How do you know about him?"

"Mr. Stark has come to me to discuss how my class is working for you. He believes that he is far more persuasive than he actually is but his intentions seemed honest."

"You talked to Tony Stark about me?"

"Not really," She smiles, "He spoke, I listened, he flirted, I respectfully declined. It's a dance I am accustomed to. He clearly means well but he wasn't on any of your disclosure forms so I told him I couldn't talk about it, it's against school policy."

"Wait you actually told Tony Stark no."

"It's not that impressive, I've taken down bigger fish before. Now I don't need to know what all you've been doing but I do need to know that you understand the material so you can pass my class with the grades I know you are capable of getting. You are one of the brightest people I've ever had the chance of meeting though you are a bit distracted whenever you do seem to make it to class."

"And I really am sorry about that Professor."

"Look, how about this, if you can keep up your attendance in class I can work with you for a tutor to help you with understanding for the midterm and final."

"I can't schedule for a tutor, um, things come up randomly."

Tilting her head she thinks it over for a moment, "Okay how about this, I practically live here so instead of a tutor you can swing by my office whenever either of us aren't in class."

"I really don't want to be looking the gift horse in the mouth or anything but why are you so willing to go out of your way to help me?"

"Just think of it as my way of helping the Avengers help the world." She smirks as she opens the door of the classroom, "Now have a seat Mr. Parker class is about to begin."

Tell me what you think. And I'm sorry again for being gone so long, I've been doing more reading than writing lately.

Anyway RR&R
