The Konoha Shinobi continue to travel across the Land of Fire hoping to reach the Village in the sunrise. They were all beaten, bruised and filled with anxiety. Konohamaru was still holding Sarada's hand with Mitsuki close behind them. Team 10 runs near them looking over their shoulders for Hoshi soldiers. The kids in specific were fidgety. Moegi took notice, she moves next to Konohamaru and whispers to him.
"Konohamaru looks at the kids, they need to rest."
Konohamaru glace at the kids and comes to the same conclusion. He speaks to the group.
"Let's take a breather."
"We can't. Hoshigakure could be right behind us." Shikadai in distress.
"Easy. We have been running for hours now, we've likely lost them by now."
Konohamaru sits next to a tree prompting everyone else to the same thing. While everyone sat together Sarada went to the side sitting alone. Konohamaru sighs, he stood up then sits next to her.
"How are you doing Little Rose?"
Sarada scoffs. The attempt on charm from Konohamaru's part made Sarada groan. But Sarada couldn't resist it, cracking a small smile. She wasn't a fan of the name her teacher gave.
Konohamaru notes Sarada still bloody hand. He grabs her hand and begins channeling water on his other hand. Using the water, Konohamaru washes the blood away.
"Let's hope you didn't receive any diseases because of this."
Sarada remained silent. Once Konohamaru finishes she spoke.
"Konoha-sensei, have you ever killed anyone?"
"Believe it or not, I've never killed anyone during my career. So I can't tell what you're going through."
Sarada curls into a ball.
"You did what you had to. No one will fault you for it."
"Konohamaru, come over here." Moegi waves at him.
Konohamaru moves to leave Sarada alone. Her thoughts were there yelling at her. Mitsuki sits next to her interrupting the emotional anguish.
"I want to thank you for saving us earlier. We-"
Sarada broke into tears confusing Mitsuki.
"D-did I say something?" Mitsuki questions in a panic.
"I'm sorry…" Sarada mutters.
"Huh?"
"…I lied."
"Lied? Lie about what?"
"I can't… I can't control my eyes."
"What are you talking about?"
"When I awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan I received a power that-" Sarada chokes on her words. "Papa didn't know what it was. He trained me, taught me how to manage the Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan. One day, we decided to explore my abilities. I lost control and I… I…"
Mitsuki places his hand on Sarada's shoulders.
"My parents were panicking. They were going to ask for outside help but then, you woke up."
Mitsuki jarred. He didn't want to remember his rampage at the hospital.
"After the ruckus, you caused people to began harassing you. They worried that I'll receive the same treatment once word got out. So they decided its best to keep it a secret. I didn't want to leave you but I was afraid. I don't want to be criticized again."
Mitsuki sat there taking it all in.
"I'm sorry. I was coward. I left you alone when you needed me the most. When the Hoshikage stuck me down you were alone. I couldn't do that again. But now I made things worse."
Sarada then remains quiet. Mitsuki acknowledged Sarada. He shuffles in front of Sarada.
"Give me your hand." Mitsuki voiced.
"Why?"
"I want to show you what I do to relax."
Sarada gave in and extends her right hand. Mitsuki grabs her hand pressing his thumb in Sarada's palm.
"Stand still, don't move a muscle."
Sarada did her best not to move and let Mitsuki work. Her chakra began to flow through her arm, it felt as if it was leaving her body. Out of a sudden, that feeling of chakra returns to her body pulling something in. The energy was very potent and promptly overwhelms her. Sarada could see the substance, it was all around them.
"What… it this?" She asks.
"Natural Energy. It exists anywhere and everywhere, constantly circulating throughout the planet as a part of nature itself."
"Is this the source of your power?"
Sarada was bewildered by the Natural Energy, it was astonishing. Mitsuki's power dwarfs hers. She could feel the Natural Energy blending with her Chakra. The power begins to seep into her veins. Mitsuki slowly begins to mutate alarming Sarada.
"M- Mitsuki?"
Mitsuki snaps out of it returning to normal.
"I'm sorry, I went too far." Mitsuki then turns his frown into a small smile. "Guess this means you and I are the same, we're monsters."
Both sat in silence processing each other's secrets.
"Hey, guys, what are you talking about?" Konohamaru said returning back to his students,
"Nothing" Mitsuki quickly response.
Mitsuki remained silent which surprised Sarada. Not telling their teacher her secret. Konohamaru notices and begins another conversation.
"How can you see without your glasses?" He asks him.
"I can't…"
"Then how..."
"My Sharingan still function as normal. With them, I don't need my glasses. But when my eyes return to normal they deteriorate and I need glasses."
"That's pretty abnormal."
"There's no records of this kind of condition in the past. This is something unfamiliar to us."
"Yet you persevere. I starting to think you guys don't need me anymore."
"What?" Mitsuki said in shock.
"Don't say things like that." Sarada responds. "… Don't leave me…" She whispers.
"Lord Six!"
Everyone looks down the forest spotting the retired Hokage Kakashi Hatake. The former continues to walk over to the group.
"Seems like you guys had quite an adventure," Kakashi said in a joyful tone.
Anbu emerged from the shadows surrounding the teams.
"We received Inojin message and came as soon as possible."
Kakashi then notices the unknown girl that was with the group.
"Well hello, what's your name?"
"Y- Yui, Yui Senju."
"Senju? Its been a while since I've met a Senju you know."
Yui tries to hide behind Moegi making Kakashi chuckle.
"You guys can return home, let us survey the situation in Hoshikagure."
"Thank you, Lord Six. But…" Moegi replies.
Kakashi raises his a brow.
"Yes?"
"Turns out the village heads are working for the Academy."
Kakashi was taken aback. The Anbu whisper to each other angered by the mention of the Academy.
"Guess I have to be more strict with the Hoshikage."
"Well, about that…"
Kakashi sees Sarada clutching her right hand, he knew Sarada can perform the Chidori. He didn't need an explanation, he just nods.
"I see…"
Kakashi signals at the Anbu and the squad spreads out to the forest.
"I'll handle this. Return to the Village. And give Yui a nice place to stay, okay?"
Even though he was wearing a mask Yui could tell he was giving her a warming smile. Yui broke down in tears and gives Kakashi hug surprising the former Hokage. Kakashi pats her head soothing Yui down.
She lets go wiping the tears away. Kakashi signals the group to move and doing as told they got up continuing to move to the Village.
Hinata sat at the edge of a building looking down at the civilians. She was feeling what she always felt, regret. The doubt in her mind was poisoning her.
"I have to…" she tells herself. "For him, for him-"
"-FOR HIM."
Hinata looks around trying to locate the source of the voice. There was no one, only her. She starts shaking and pulling her hair.
"Am I going insane? No. No. Calm down. Clam down."
Footsteps could be heard behind her. From the shadows, Megami came out with her usual slacker mannerism.
"Seems like you're having a great night."
"What do you want?"
"Haven't you heard? The Hybrid is in the Village."
"They found her?"
"Yep, the Third Hokage Grandson found her on the Land of Bears."
"Now she's in Konoha hands."
"For now."
Hinata was a bit staggered by Megami's remark.
"You're thinking of taking her by force?"
"Got no other option."
"They'll destroy you."
"No, they won't."
"Do you even have a plan?"
"You'll be my lookout. Once there's an opening I'll make my move."
"…that's it?"
"That's it."
Hinata sighs. She stares at the mask, after recalling the cause she puts on the mask then looks at the Rōnin.
"Fine, I'll do it. I'll do it… for him."
"You're just a kid."
Naruto observes the Hybrid in disbelief that people were hunting a child. Tsunade and Shikamaru stood there dumbfounded.
"Who are you?" Yui asks as she begins to panic.
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki! Hokage of the Hidden Leaf!" Naruto bumps his chest and delivers a large smile.
Yui seeing his warm smile calms down.
"What are you going to do to me?" Yui asks.
"We're going to ask a few questions," Tsunade responds.
"And then?"
"Give you a nice place to stay and make sure you stay safe." Naruto pats her on the back.
Overwhelmed Yui bows in respect. Naruto went over to the others.
"Where are we going to put her?" Shikamaru questions Naruto.
"Hmmm… The Orphanage." Naruto replies.
"Are you sure? That place isn't very well secured."
"Well, Kabuto is there."
Tsunade and Shikamaru glanced each other. Kabuto is one of the most powerful shinobi in the known world. If anyone could fend off intruders it would be him.
"All right, I'll get things moving."
Tsunade took Yui out of the office, heading towards interrogation room. Naruto was following when he notices Shikamaru stay back.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
"I want to see Shikadai." Naruto was a bit surprised with Shikamaru's honesty. "I never imagined him going to a war zone."
Naruto felt the same. He felt responsible for sending those kids in that war. The Hokage wanted to apologize to them.
"You can go to him. I'll check on the rest of teams."
"What about Yui?"
"She's safe now."
Shikamaru acknowledges the Hokage. Once they told everyone they went to their respective homes.
Sarada laid back in the field staring at the orange sky. Her mother had patch her up and heal any wound she had. She was alone her mind still running with all the negative thoughts. Eventually, she broke down into tears. Sarada removes her new glasses trying to cover her face.
"Are you okay?"
Sarada sits up wiping away the tears. She faces the Hokage and puts back her glasses.
"Lord Seven? I- 'm sorry, I didn't mean to break down like this. Not in front of you."
Naruto sits down facing Sarada.
"I heard what happened. Taking a life… is excruciating. But think of it like this, that girl now has a place to call home. And that's thanks to you."
"To be honest Lord Seven I don't care. She from the Academy and because of that she deserves nothing."
"She's still human. Yui needs to be treated as one. If you do that she'll open up to you and you might end up liking her."
"Would you act like that to Boruto's killer?"
Naruto didn't answer.
"How did you even find me?" Sarada inquires.
"I visited the other teams earlier, you weren't with the others so I went looking for you."
Sarada sat there with a blank expression not making eye contact.
"How are they doing?" Sarada asks.
"They're doing fine."
"And Mitsuki?"
"In good condition as well. He a robust Shinobi."
"Are you afraid of him?"
"What?" Naruto chuckles. "Why would I be afraid of him?"
"I know his power, his secret. These people hate him for it."
"Sage Transformation"
"Huh?"
"Sage Transformation is a part of Senjutsu. It's all potent stuff."
"Do you know about this stuff? This 'Natual Energy'?"
"Of course! I am a Sage after all."
"Sage?"
Sarada sits properly facing the Hokage. Naruto curiosity peaks genuinely wondering what Sarada was going to ask.
"Can you explain to me Senjutsu?"
Naruto smiles in response.
"Sure, I can explain to you about Senjutsu."
Naruto takes a deep breath then he presses his fingers into the ground.
"Natural energy is the energy that is created by the air, water, and earth of the world. Senjutsu itself is the art of mixing natural energy with one's physical and spiritual energy to create more powerful chakra."
The Hokage's chakra permeates throughout the ground then seeps into the air. Transparent green chakra float across the grass. Embers float in the air surrounding Sarada and Naruto. Sarada wonders at the spectacle.
"You must balance the Natural Energy and your own Chakra to create Senjutsu Chakra and if you do you become a Sage."
"What's the difference between a Sage and a Shinobi?"
"Just as Chakra makes a ninja superior to ordinary humans, Senjutsu chakra makes a Sage superior to ordinary ninja."
"Superior in what way?"
"A Sage's physical strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, perception, and durability are enhanced. One's ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu also become more powerful. We can manipulate Natural Energy. A Sage can sense chakra around them and can sense attacks without the need to see them. And that's a few things we can do."
Sarada was in complete awe. She's fascinated in Senjutsu and wishes to learn more.
"Is this some sort of Kekkei Genkai?"
"In theory, anyone can learn Senjutsu."
"Really? Can I learn Senjutsu?"
"Sorry, Sarada but you're nowhere near prepared to learn Senjutsu."
Sarada frowns as the enthusiasm fades away.
"But who knows, maybe you will the future."
"What about Mitsuki? Can he learn to control his power?"
"Maybe! You know, I might personally look into that. If you see Mitsuki tell him to see me."
"Are you going to help him?"
"I'll try!"
Sarada bows to Naruto.
"Thank you Naruto-sama!"
"If we can teach him Sage Mode…" Naruto whispers to himself.
"Sage Mode?" Sarada said overhearing him.
"Oh, it's this."
Naruto sits still and closes his eyes entering Sage Mode. He opens his eyes revealing yellow, toad-like irides with orange pigmentation around his eyes.
"This is Sage Mode. It's the state a human enters once they properly balance their own Chakra with Natural Energy."
Sarada focused on one keyword. She starts putting the pieces together.
"Properly balanced. That's it. That's the problem. Mitsuki can't balance the Natural Energy with his Chakra, that's why he's losing control."
"Possibly. Remember his case is a bit weird. But that's not gonna stop me! With my Six Paths Senjutsu Mitsuki will overcome this obstacle in no time.
"Six Paths Senjutsu?"
Naruto laughs and stands up from the ground with Sarada standing as well.
"Now watch this!"
Naruto's pupils morph into a cross of vertical fox-slits with horizontal toad-slats. No pigmentation around his eyes.
Sarada stood there waiting for something else to happen.
"Is that it?"
Naruto confident attitude deflates as Sarada stands there unimpressed.
"Trust me, this power is no joke."
"What makes it different from normal Sage Mode?"
"First of all, I can do this."
Naruto levitated freely in the air turning himself upside down. Sarada was shocked that the Hokage can fly. He grabs Sarada's arms and flies up in the taking her with him.
"L- Lord Seven!?"
"Don't worry, I got you!"
They reached the point where they could see a chunk of the Village. Naruto sees the sunset with many houses turning on their lights.
"It's getting dark. Let me take you home."
Naruto swings Sarada unto his back carrying her on his back.
"Comfortable?"
Sarada face turns red, her mind going blank.
"N-No!" She answered without thinking, saying the opposite of what she wanted to say.
"Well don't sweat it. We'll be there in no time."
Naruto flies over the Village giving Sarada a unique view.
"How did you gain this power?"
"A Ghost gave it to me."
"...What?"
"Hey I just remembered, how's the Rasengan training going?"
"Oh, uh, that. I haven't had time to practice with the mission and all that. I'm still gonna practice it when I have the chance."
"Good! Practice whenever you can."
"Yes, Lord Seven."
Naruto sense key people in the outskirts of the Village. Tsunade had just dropped off Yui in the Orphanage and one of the Wardens was given her a tour. The Hokage recalls what Sarada said, how she didn't care about Yui. Deep down he knew Yui was a good person. He wanted to show that to Sarada.
"Do you want to join me on a field trip?"
"Where to?"
"The Orphanage."
Sarada couldn't resist the offer. It was rare to spend time with the Hokage.
"Yes, I would like to go with you," Sarada said blushing.
"All right then, let's go!"
Naruto changes trajectory and flies towards the Village outskirts.
Naruto and Sarada reach the Orphanage in the early night. Both enter the building and the first thing they saw was a familiar face. Well, familiar faces.
Shin clones where everywhere doing chores and talking to other orphans. The orphans filled with awe seeing the Hokage enter their doorstep.
One of the wardens, Urushi, went over to greet them.
"Welcome, Lord Seven! What brings you to our home?"
"I came to see how Yui is doing?"
"Kabuto is giving her a tour of the orphanage. Do you want to see her?"
"When she's available, yes."
Urushi left to get Yui and Kabuto. Naruto and Sarada waited in the lobby while some of the orphans walk up to the Hokage and marvel at him.
Suddenly there was a warriors cry, a young girl jumps Naruto with a clenched fist. Naruto didn't even need to use the Six Paths Sage Mode sensory to see her coming. The Hokage effortlessly dodge the attack. The girl landed face first to the wooden floor. She quickly got up and struck a goofy pose.
"Why are you attacking me?"
"Haven't Himawari told you about me? About our battles? Our rivalries. To prove who's the best."
"No… No, she hasn't told me anything about rivalries."
The girl crosses her arms with a smug look on her face.
"She must be ashamed herself. I always beat her in our exams. Just look at this week, I hit two bulls-eye."
"Yeah, out of twelve." A Shin clone mutters.
"And Himawari got like nine or ten." Another clone whispers.
"Shut up!"
Naruto stood there filled with bewilderment.
"Again, who are you?" Sarada spoke up.
"I am Kagayaku of the outskirts. Future hero of the Hidden Leaf!"
"Hero? You just attacked the Hokage."
"If I defeat the father of my rival then I get to prove my superiority."
"That sounds like a stupid idea." Sarada crosses her arm unimpressed with the wannabe hero.
Kagayaku strike another goofy pose staring defiantly at Sarada.
"My ideals will bring me victory!"
"You're poses are also stupid."
"Your face is stupid!"
Kagayaku snaps now glaring at an impassive Sarada.
"Now now Kagayaku no need to yell."
Kabuto had entered the lobby with Yui by his side. Sarada at first was a bit spooked by Kabuto, he reminded her of Orochimaru.
"Kabuto! How's Yui doing?" Naruto asks him.
"I'm doing fine. Thank you for asking." Yui replies.
Naruto and Kabuto went to the side to have a conversation.
A few Shin clones surround Yui and observe her. Yui became anxious and shaking wondering what was happening.
"…Sister…"
Other clones began repeating what the one clone echoed. Yui was a nervous wreck at this point, not understanding what's going on.
Kagayaku breaks up the circle and faces Yui.
"Don't mind them, their still a work in progress."
Kagayaku then introduce herself and the clones.
Sarada stood in the back watching everyone. She didn't want to talk to anyone.
Anbu came in the orphanage and stopped when they saw the Hokage.
"L-Lord Seven?" One of them spoke. "We thought you were in Village dealing with the Iwa situation."
"Iwa situation? What happened?" The two Anbu looked at each other bewildered.
"My Lord, there was an assassination attempt on the Tsuchikage."
The room fell silent.
"What? When did this happen?" Naruto asks.
"Info is scarce, we were informed around twelve hours ago. But we do know its the Academy doing."
"Dammit, I knew I should have… I heading back into the office. Sarada?"
"I'll walk home Naruto-sama. Don't worry about me."
Naruto nods. He leaves the orphanage is flash leaving a faint orange trail of light.
"Now then children, time to sleep," Kabuto announces.
The children left for their rooms while the Anbu talks to Kabuto. Sarada follows Yui to the courtyard. Yui stops when she realizes Sarada was following her.
"Y-yes?"
"You knew, didn't you?" Sarada glares at Yui.
"W-what?"
"Not satisfied by hurting one village? Decided to hurt others as well?"
"I didn't do anything! I wasn't even aware that they were attacking villages."
"Lies. I won't let you hurt anyone else. Not anymore."
Sarada activates her Sharingan planning to forcefully extract any and all information she had in her mind. From the corner of her eye, she spots movements among the shadows. Behind Sarada, a masked figure emerge.
"Were you planning on hurting this girl?"
Sarada drops to the ground, aghast by the Vigilante sudden appearance.
"Y-you're that Vigilante! Why are y-"
Sarada figured out what she wanted before finishing her question.
"Considering what you were planning to do with the girl, I believe she's safer with us."
"Us?"
Anbu surrounds the Vigilante, weapons drawn.
"Look who it is. We've been looking for you."
The Vigilante stood there unfazed.
"You only found me because of coincidence. Guess what the villagers were saying is right, the Anbu have lost their touch."
"Talk all you want. We're bringing you down!"
"Seems you're eager to fight me. Shame, I'm not going to fight you. She is."
Everyone hears footsteps coming closer towards them. From the rooftops out came a female with an iron mask covering the upper half of her face.
"T-the R-rōnin!"
The rogue samurai was well known among the lands. She is believed by many to be unbeatable, possessing Kage levels of power. Those who cross paths with her are never the same again.
Megami moves faster than anyone, except Sarada and Hinata, can follow. She lands on one of the Anbu breaking the ground beneath. The Anbu attack Megami all at once but she easily fends them off. Megami was on the defense and didn't bother unsheathing her sword only defending herself with the scabbard.
The Rōnin pushes all Anbu aside with a single swing of her scabbard. One of the Anbu, Oka, jumps up to the rooftops waving hand seals.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
A big ball of wind expels from her mouth crashing against the ground as Megami had to dodge it with a burst of speed.
"Where did she go?" Oka yells.
Golden spider webs wrap around the arm of two Anbu members and we're thrown over the orphanage, crashing in the forest. Megami reappears with golden threads entangled between her fingers. She wiggles a finger causing a thread to hit another Anbu and collide against the wall.
Oka glares at the rōnin. She was the last anbu standing.
Megami however completely ignores her. She focuses on Yui and points at her.
"You're coming with me."
Sarada steps in front of Yui kunai in hand.
"She isn't going anywhere!" Sarada declares.
A hand grabs Sarada's ankles and drags her into the ground, leaving only her head above the surface.
The Vigilante emerges from the ground.
"It's over." The Vigilante told her.
The Vigilante went to grab Yui when a rock was thrown at her. She catches the rock without looking, then looks at the one threw it.
"Criminals beware, for I am here!" Kagayaku announces doing a stupid pose in the process.
Megami and Hinata glace at each other dumbstruck by the kid.
"Kid, just… just get lost." The Rōnin mumbles.
"No! I will defend my home. And protect my new sister!"
"Sister…?" Yui was shocked by Kagayaku resolve to protect her. So much so that started tearing up.
"And I am not alone!" Kagayaku proudly yells out.
Shin clones teleport on top of the roof surrounding the Vigilantes. They wave hand seals which ended with the tiger seal.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!"
From each clone, a volley of fire leaves their mouths striking the entire courtyard. Sarada, Yui, Kagayaku and the unconscious Anbu member have teleported to the rooftops thanks to the Shin clones who reach them before the attack landed.
Megami and Hinata jump in the air escaping the fire with minimal damage. Without waving hand seals Megami inhales.
"Water Style: Giant Waterfall"
The Rōnin expels a large amount from the mouth colliding in the courtyard extinguishing the fire. The water reaches the rooftop washing away everyone and devastating the courtyard. Everyone landed outside the orphanage receiving minor damage.
The Vigilantes walk over the defeated bodies of the Shin clones and heading towards Yui.
"Please, stop. No one needs to get hurt." Yui pleas.
Sarada once again got in the Vigilantes way. Megami was annoyed.
"Get out of my way."
She raises her scabbard willing to strike Sarada down. Hinata didn't want this but the end goal was more important right now.
A figure dashes in front of Sarada blocking the attack with chakra scalpels. He pushes Megami back and swings at the Vigilante but she dodges.
Sarada realizes who the figure was.
"Kabuto?"
Kabuto glances at Sarada and acknowledged her then focuses back the Vigilantes.
"Are you hurting my family?"
"If they are old enough to fight their old enough to fail. Now get out of my way Snakeskin." Megami coldly states.
"You and I know that's not going to happen."
"Then fall."
Megami uses the body flicker to do a sudden attack with her scabbard but it was blocked once again. Kabuto pushes her away again but with much more power. Megami digs her hand in the ground stopping herself.
Hinata, not wanting to be apart of this, disappears in the shadows.
The Rōnin recovers, holding her scabbard in one hand and the other empty. She annoyingly groans.
"Guess I have to try."
Megami raises her scabbard and slams into the ground. The earth erupts to the surface like dry ground.
Kabuto hid within the cracks observing Megami's next move. Golden threads pierce his abdomen and thrown against a wall. Megami plays with the webbing satisfied with the result of her attack.
Snakes emerge from the ground and wrap around Megami's legs. She grabs one of the snakes crushing its head.
"Chakra made snakes, acts purely on instinct, no spirit."
Megami crushes snake killing it. She drops it and goes for the other. The body of the crushed snake inflates and outcomes Kabuto. With the chakra scalpel, he slices Megami.
"You let your guard down," Kabuto informs.
Megami stands up with no cut wound only tore clothing.
"(No puncture?)"
She waves her arm with the golden webs cutting the earth around her hitting Kabuto in the process.
Sarada and Yui watch the earth fall apart, they saw Megami standing tall and Kabuto on his knees. He checks his clothing then gets up. Kabuto chuckles. All his cuts glow green and suddenly heals.
"You're a curious child," Kabuto utters.
The Rōnin doesn't say a word. She emits black chakra out of her hand and shapes into a spear. Megami attacks Kabuto with it. Kabuto dodges the attacks but couldn't counterattack. He slithers away gaining some ground between the two.
He grows a sinister smile and laughs wildly.
"I'm starting to get excited!"
Megami scoffs. She throws the spear, but instead of aiming at him she throws it Yui. Kabuto intercepts with a large snake that emerges from his abdomen. The spear was mere inches away from Yui face.
"Don't worry, I-"
Kabuto fell silent. The spear emitted strange energy. He was overwhelmed with negative thoughts. Memories run through his mind. When he accidentally killed Nonō, his time with Orochimaru, his involvement in the Fourth World War, and his greatest regret the Impure World Reincarnation.
"Kabuto!"
Kabuto snaps out of it when Megami hits him with her scabbard shattering the ground below. Once the dust had settled Megami was standing over him. Yet, to everyone's surprise, he got back healing from his bruises. He looks at Megami with a confident grin.
"Oh child, you can't strike down a dragon."
Kabuto darts towards Megami clashing once again. The longer they fight each other the more power they release. More skill was put into their assaults trying to one-up one another.
Sarada was mesmerized by Kabuto. The way he moves thinks and how confident he seems. She watches him closely.
The Shin clones abruptly recover and went over to Sarada and Yui. Using their Mangekyo Sharingan they teleport to the other side of the orphanage. Sarada was confused.
"Why did you brought us here?" Sarada asks.
The clones start emitting negative chakra turning them into mindless zombies. Using the other eye, scalpels emerge from their sleeves chasing Sarada. Yui and Sarada were separated by the clones.
Yui bumps into masked figure and drops to the ground.
"W- who are you?" Yui said looking the figure.
"Nobody"
"Sumire!"
Sarada jumps in the air falling towards Sumire. The scalpels still behind her. Sumire waves her hand breaking her control of the clones and thus the scalpels fell to the ground. Then she sides step dodging Sarada landing.
"What are you doing!?" Sarada screams.
"Avenging someone I loved."
Sarada was left stunned. She knew who was she talking about. But she never expected her to say she loved him.
"I'm leaving and taking the Hybrid with me."
"No, you won't!"
Sarada gets up ready to stop Sumire.
A portal opens and outcome Nue's tail grabbing Yui then returning to its dimension.
"Yui!"
Shin clones surround Sarada blocking her from Sumire.
"Their afraid, Sarada. And so is the rest of the village. I'm going to do them a service."
Hands erupt from the ground trying to grab Sumire. She jumps then while mid-jump pointed her finger guns to the ground. Firing water cause it to shatter. From the water emerged the Vigilante.
"Don't do this." The Vigilante pleas.
"It's too late to turn back now."
Sumire disappears using the body flicker leaving the outskirts.
"Sumire!"
Sarada wanted to give chase but the Vigilante grabs her arm.
"Stay here."
A snake appears from the side and tries to bite the Vigilante but she easily dodges thanks to the Byakugan. But, she had to let Sarada go. A spear strike down the snake. Megami approaches the Vigilante with the usual slacker manner.
Kabuto slithers in front of Sarada facing the Vigilantes. He was on all fours, his snake wrap around him acting like a tail.
"Rescue the girl. I'll keep these troublemakers at bay."
Acknowledging her goals she travels into the forest chasing after Sumire.
Once Sarada was gone Kabuto enters Sage Mode.
"Careful!" The Vigilante tells Megami.
"I know."
Kabuto stands up and waves three hand seals.
"Sage Art: White Extreme Attack!"
Kabuto expels a dragon-like entity from his mouth that carrying an orb in its left front claw. The dragon tightly coils itself around the orb, releasing both blinding light and deafening sound making the air oscillate.
Sarada hears the chaos behind her but she ignores it. Her mission was now to stop Sumire and save Yui. She continues to move forward leaving the village.
A/N: Another one bites the dust! I'm pretty satisfied with this chapter. Learned a few things writing this one.
Next chapter is a big one. Had this one in my mind for months. Sumire's plan has been set in motion and it's up to Sarada to stop her. But will she do the right thing or follow her twisted delusions. All I say is this, Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan will make its first appearance.

Don't be afraid of giving me criticism too, there's no way I'll improve my writing if nobody says anything. With that out the way, have a fantastic day and hope to see you next time!
