Notes
Hey Reader, this is Worseman here, and here's the second chapter but this is the third chapter of this story.
Sorry for posting this chapter late because I was really busy in my life but I can't reveal every detail of my personal life because I like to keep it secret. All of my personal life is a mundane thing that you all, especially me, always do in our everyday life, minding everyone's business.
Anyway, this chapter is honestly weak and I almost lost my writing skill so I tried to write whatever I could to make it interesting but to me, it is still weak so I might have to rewrite this chapter in the future.
If you spot any grammar errors or spelling in this story, I will try my best to improve my story.

Kazuhiro was a little board that he had nothing to do aside from listening to music or taking a nap. All he does now is enjoy the view of the street inside Masato's car while Masato was driving his car. Masato's eyes were focusing in front of the street as his hand grip remained on a steering wheel while his foot was slowly pushing against the accelerator pedal to maintain its speed. Masato's clothes were usually the same but as for Kazuhiro, he wore a black long-sleeves jacket with a light gray button-up shirt, black pants, and black spot shoes with white print detail. Feeling awkward, Masato began his conversation with Kazuhiro to break the silence, "So, anything special happened yesterday during your school day?"
"No, aside from listening to the lecture in the class about the rule of magic, something like that," Kazuhiro replied.
"Come on, Kaz, you can tell me about your school day," Masato pleaded, feeling little frustration at Kaz keeping his school day to himself, "There is no point of hiding it since it was harmless to talk because it's school."
"When it's the last time you became interested?" Kazuhiro asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Since yesterday," Masato replied.
Sighed in irradiation, Kazuhiro was not sure why Masato was interested to know more about his school day. He could stay silent until they reached their agency destination but he would continue to get bombed with questions. So he decided to speak out about his day at school.
"I became acquainted with Saegusa Mayumi yesterday."
"You mean the older daughter of the Saegusa family?" Masato clarified Kazuhiro's answer about Mayumi with a surprised tone
"Who else other than her, Masato? Not everyone had the same last name," Kazuhiro answered Kazuhiro's clarification.
Masato could not believe that Kazuhiro managed to become acquainted with Mayumi, who was a member of the Saegusa Family, one of the ten master clans. No one ever became an acquaintance or friend with her as someone, who was not associated with ten master clans, hundred families, or eighteen assistant houses. He thought that he was misheard but he was not. However, he was a little proud of Kazuhiro for becoming the acquaintance of Mayumi. He could ask Kazuhiro more to describe Mayumi's personality but he decided not to because it was better to keep in the dark. He continued to ask Kazuhiro, "So, other than Mayumi, who else?"
"Kitayama Shizuku."
"Oh, are you referring to the daughter of the wealthy businessman, Kitayama Ushio?"
"You know him?"
"Yeah, I met him as a police officer before joining Director Izanagi's agency and I described him as 'too much honestly'."
Kazuhiro raised an eyebrow at the description of Ushio but he knew what Masato was trying to say. He wondered if it was because of Shizuku's both emotionless face and cold and blunt tone and she could be a spoiled rich girl, which he was hoping he was wrong.
"Something wrong?" Masato asked Kazuhiro, noticing his strange behavior.
"Nothing, I just think too much," Kazuhiro replied, looking out of the window.
Morning
Unknown Location, Tokyo
Both Kazuhiro and Masato walked up to the stairs until they reached the upper floor to see the hallway. They continued to walk to the end until they stopped at the truck and turned around to see a wooden door beside them. The wooden door consists of glass on the top half and two panels on the other half below. A simple origami crane print symbol was on the glass with a tiniest sigil detail on the center of its main body which was scale and sword. The title word under the symbol was the name of the agency that they worked for, 'Gruidae Agency'.
Gruidae Agency was both a police-base group and a private detective agency, focusing on solving crimes that were considered too violent or difficult for the ordinary police force to handle. These crimes were often involving magicians but all of the detectives within the agency were also magicians whether they have military, police, crime, or many other backgrounds. While they handled the dangerous crime, they offered many services such as searching for information about legal, financial, and personal matters, finding missing persons or others that many private detectives do on their daily day and night.
Masato grabbed the doorknob and turned it in anti-clockwise to open it, followed by Kazuhiro. As the door pushed forward, they stepped forward to the room to enter but they suddenly stopped at their track to see a stranger sitting on the couch. The stranger was a young male at the age of between fifteen and sixteen. His outfit consists of a white button-up shirt, his black pants, and black shoe along with his white digital watches strapped around his right wrists. He seems to be patient, waiting for someone else whom they knew of like their friend or boss. They resumed their walking but separated themselves to their desk because theirs was in different places.
As Masato reached his desk, he was greeted by a smiling Sora who was gesturing his hand wave.
"Yo, Masato."
"Hey, Sora," Masato greeted, noticing Sora's mood, "You seem to be in a good mood today."
"Yep because I'm really happy about being talked to by a beautiful woman caught in my eyes."
Feeling a little troubled, Masato nevertheless pulled his chair out from under his desk and sat while continuing the conversation with Sora by asking, "When did it happen?"
"Last night, she offered me to enter her apartment but I declared her offer as I was very beaten up by Genki due to his misunderstanding or misjudgment," Sora explained happily.
Masato found the last part of Sora nonsense as he fully remembered the scene of Sora being dragged to the storage room by Genki and beaten up many times as Masato had already lost count. It was because he flirted with the client who was a mother of two and a member of one of the hundred families. It happened yesterday. However, he was glad for it to happen rather than the scene continuing without Genki's intervention which might lead to the destruction of their agency.
"By the way, I almost forget to ask but who is that person over there," Masato asked Sora, pointing the young man sitting on the couch with his finger
Sora turned his head to follow Masato's pointing finger to the young man on the couch and answered, "Takaya Daisuke. He is a first years' student of First High School and our colleague except he is a part-timer like Kazuhiro."
"You mean he's a student like Kazuhiro?"
"Yeah, He was recommended by our surprising person, Director Izanagi, to work here to learn a new experience with us."
"'Learn a new experience with us'? Are you sure you heard correctly?" Masato asked skeptically, not trusting a single word from Sora because he was sometimes fooled during their conversation.
"Hey, trust me. Daisuke did say it to Izanagi by himself," Sora assured Kazuri, who sighed in reply.
"Alright, but did he..."
"He passed his entrance test from Izanagi."
The Gruidae Agency conducted its entrance examination for the new employee whether they were full-time or part-time but the way they conduct was entirely different whether it was an interview test or a dangerous simulation involving hostage or real-time case to test their capabilities. Unfortunately, most of the new employees failed their examination but only one or two passed to become an employee like Masato or Sora.
Masato wondered what kind of Daisuke's examination to showcase something to accept to become a private detective. He however shook his thought away as it was less important of what kind of examination even though his curiosity could not keep still. The most important was to get to know more about him.
"Anyway, I forgot to mention that Daisuke is going to work as both clerk and surprisingly, Detective," Said Sora.
"Eh, is it a bit too much for him to handle two jobs at the same time?" Masato asked with his raised eyebrow. "I'm not bashing him to choose one out of two jobs because it could create stress on him."
"Don't worry, his primary job will be mainly a clerk but his secondary job as a detective to work with any of us in case one of us were heavily injured or seriously missing," Sora assured Masato.
"Easy for you to say that but I'm still worried about him though," Masato replied, feeling uncertain about Daisuke.
"Don't worry, he will eventually adapt to our working environment."

Listening to jazz music from his headphones, Kazuhiro had his eyes shut for a while as he was bored that there was no case from the police force or their clients to solve. As Kazuhiro began to fall to sleep, his head was suddenly smacked lightly, waking him up while his ear faintly picked a female's voice calling to him.
"Don't snooze off now, Kaz."
Kazuhiro took his headphone off to hang them around his neck and turned around to see a slender build woman with dark maroon wavy hair and red eyes. She was dressed in a black button-up blouse tucked into a plain dark blue skirt that flared out above the knees, black ties and tights, and red high heel shoes. She also wore black gloves that reached past her wrist. He saw her frown face and sighed. "You just arrived, Izumi?"
"Yes, I just arrived to start working until I saw you're about to fall asleep," replied Izumi.
"I just took a nap for a while but not sleeping throughout the hours."
"Yeah, just keep telling that yourself, Kaz."
Izumi walked to her desk which was in front of Kazuhiro and pulled her chair out to sit. She sat and continued her conversation with him to change the topic that she was curious about. "So, how is the first week of your school?"
Kazuhiro raised his eyebrow at Izumi's question as he does not know why she did ask for details of his school life. His school life was dull except the moment where he met with Mayumi and Shizuku on the second and third days. When he looked at her eyes, it was filled with curiosity that she was eager to find out. He had no other choice but to answer her question because she might not back down easily as she would continue to pester him into answering her question. With a sigh in defeat, he answered, "It's honestly sometimes boring."
"So, No new friend?"
"No," Kazuhiro shook his head, "But I make three sorts of acquaintances whom they might be out of my league."
"So, it's new friends," Izumi clarified Kazuhiro's answer.
"Something like that," Kazuhiro confirmed Izumi's clarification but not entirely true. He cannot reveal that the two acquaintances were a daughter of the Saegusa family and a daughter of an extremely wealthy businessman because this could push her to tell him more about them.
An awkward silence appeared between Izumi and Kazuhiro when their conversation was short ended. Both could not think of how to continue their conversation to keep themselves lively until she sighed in disappointment.
"I guess that I won't be able to persuade you to tell me more about your school life until you suddenly feel that you want to speak with me," Izumi shrugged off with a small smile.
"Thanks, but no thanks," Kazuhiro thanked Izumi.
A glassed woman with short, half-curly brown hair and olive green eyes walked past Kazuhiro with a file in her hands. Kazuhiro turned his head to see a glassed woman walking towards Daisuke but he did get a glimpse to see her smile even though he felt a delightful aura around her.
'Kirka seems to be in a happy mood to see him, who might be our new colleague," Kazuhiro thought and returned to listening to jazz music.
20 minutes later
Masato and Kazuhiro were sitting on each armchair in front of a blonde curly bob haired woman in her white blouse dress who was also sitting on the sofa while Genki and Sora were standing behind them. They all had a conversation with the woman who was their client, requesting them for the investigation.
"You mention that you like to request an investigation, but what manner of investigation are we speaking of here?" Asked Masato.
"Well…"
"Say, miss, you're a lady as elegant and gentle as a white swan," Sora interrupted the conversation as he kneeled and grabbed the woman's hand to touch. "Would you be willing to join me in our d…"
Genki uppercut punched Sora's face, sending him across the place from the group including the client. Sora's body hit the ground and rolled roughly until he stopped. Both Kazuhiro and Masato looked at Sora with a mixture of embarrassment, shock, and a little disappointment while the client also looked at him with confusion.
"Eh?" The client said, confused.
"Ah, Apologies for the disturbance," Genki apologized without facing the client, walking towards unconscious Sora.
Genki grabbed Sora's collar shirt and dragged him to the door. He opened the door to reveal a data room. As he entered the room with the dragged Sora, he turned to face Masato, Kazuhiro, and the client.
"Don't worry, please continue your discussion."
As the door shut with the sound of closing, A loud noise of beating, slapping, and Sora's screaming in pain was heard outside the room from the inside. Both Masato and Kazuhiro turned their head to the client, who was still confused by the scene while the noise continued.
"Don't worry, it happens all the time," Masato assured with a little uncomfortable laugh, returning to the discussion. "So what are you trying to say, miss?"
The client snapped from her confusion and resumed the discussion with Masato and Kazuhiro. "There was a man that I want you to investigate."
The client reached her hand to her handbag and opened it. She searched inside to grab something to show them. As she pulled out of it, she showed a photo of a man with combed black hair and yellow eyes. He was simply wearing a white suit with his annoyed face while walking with his possible fellow college on the street.
"That man is Ankoku Hisao and he is my boss. He is a businessman that I worked for at his taxes company in Shibuya, but he is however rumored to be conducting a group of smugglers, and they were also foreigners," The client explained with her grave look, turning the discussion into a serious matter.
"Smugglers, huh?"
The client was a little jolted from her seat with her shocked face and turned her head around to see Genki with his disgusted face. Genki already finished his beating with Sora who was either unconscious or dazed on the floor in the data room, leaving the door open for anyone who walked past to see him.
"The police force may patrol whatever street they want but they keep multiplying like rats on a ship," Genki said with a serious tone, "They're unavoidable in a few parts of the city."
"Right," The client agreed with Genki in a sad tone.
Seeing the dejected client, Kazuhiro sympathized a little with her words but not her because she agreed with every Genki's word about the police not able to maintain and control in the street filled with a crime in secret. However, he felt something odd about her but could not piece it together but he needed to focus on her request.
"If I had some solid evidence, I could have gone straight to the police station so..."
"You want us to stake out the place and get that evidence," Genki guessed what the client desired to do and the client nodded, confirming his guess.
"Hey," Genki called Masato and Kazuhiro, "You two go."
"Okay," Masato agreed.
"But you also bring that brat to come with you for your stakeout," Genki requested, pointing at Daisuke who was walking to the door.
Daisuke felt a disturbance in the atmosphere as he paused his walking. He turned around to see Genki's pointing thumb finger towards himself and croaked his head. "Eh?"
[~~~~~]
"Hello, I'm Takaya Daisuke, your new colleague, and I will be in your care until I matured enough to take care of myself," Daisuke introduced himself in his polite tone with his head bow and offered a handshake.
"Nice to meet you, Daisuke-Kun. My name is Tsuyoshi Masato," Masato greeted him and accepted Daisuke's handshake. "I heard that you applied for both a clerk and a detective job in our agency, isn't it?"
"Yes and I know it's too selfish to accept both as I supposed to accept either of two," Daisuke admitted with a laugh while massaging the back of his neck lightly.
'He's a bit too honest in my opinion,' Masato thought, observing Daisuke's attitude. 'But he is an ok colleague."
Masato was having a friendly conversation with Daisuke outside of the agency building in the street. They stood in the walking path beside Masato's car in the road as both of them wanted to get to know each other while waiting for Kazuhiro to come with them to head out to fulfill the client's request.
"Are we waiting for Kazuhiro-san to come with us from our office?" Daisuke asked, looking at the door.
"I guess that you somehow knew him because you both are in First High," guessed Masato.
"Not exactly, I didn't speak with him but I saw him sleeping on the bench outside the school area during lunchtime."
Masato sighed in little disenchantment to find out that Kazuhiro still committed an unexpected action related to taking a nap but he was not surprised. He kept lecturing him not to sleep in any public places but he kept doing that a lot so he eventually gave up lecturing as there was no point in it.
"Being an older brother to him is the hardest job?" Daisuke asked with a smile.
"Yeah, but despite all of that, he is still my sibling that I need to look after."
While Masato and Daisuke were talking, Kazuhiro walked out of the building with both hands in his pocket and saw them enjoying a lively conversation but they were distracted to notice him. He began to walk towards them while calling them out, "Hey."
Both Masato and Daisuke stopped their conversation and turned around to see Kazuhiro walking towards them.
"What took you so long, Kaz?" Masato asked, "It's been five minutes late since you're at the break room."
"Overslept," Kazuhiro replied, walking past Masato and Daisuke to Masato's car.
While Kazuhiro opened Masato's car door, Daisuke looked at him with a thought, 'I never thought to see him again since the auditorium ceremony.'
Morning
Unknown District, Tokyo
"You saying that the client is a twenty-nine years old woman, Kiyoko Chika, and she requested us to stakeout on the man, Ankoku Hisao, who ran an illegal smuggling operation, to find any solid evidence to put him behind the bar." Daisuke recollected his memories of what Masato had told him while driving.
"Exactly, but we have to be careful, not to be caught by Hisao or his goons. Otherwise, we will be honestly dead in the bag in the middle of the sea," Masato warned Daisuke with a serious tone, focusing on driving.
"Umm, right," Daisuke agreed awkwardly.
Hearing Daisuke's uncomfortable answer, Masato sighed with displeasure. He braked his car at the sight of the red light of the traffic. Masato turned his head to look at Kazuhiro who was sleeping at the backseat and faced Daisuke to have his serious conversation.
"Daisuke-Kun, I will be honest; you're not ready to deal with this because I can hear awkwardness in your words that you both said and replied during the job. You must prove to me that you're still capable of being a private investigator to help each other within the agency."
"I got the memo, Masato-Sama, but I'm honestly both nervous and scared to face my first ever case which is beyond me since this is about collecting enough evidence without being caught in a dangerous request." Daisuke replied, "But like you said, I must prove myself to handle this kind of situation so I'm going to do it now."
"I can see your resolve in your eyes, Daisuke-Kun, but you will learn a hard truth of our work if you like to keep going."
"I know."
"Anyway, Miss Kiyoko does not know where Hisao's smuggler operations were at but if we tail him, he could lead us to his operation," Masato informed, "Also, she also did give us her company's address and a possible schedule of the timing that he followed so he would be leaving early at one pm."
"How on earth did she obtain the schedule and knew all about Hisao's smuggler operation?" Daisuke asked with a raised eyebrow.
"While you went to pack the camera for the stakeout, Miss Kiyoko mentioned that she is Hisao's secretary and he foolishly trusted her to let into his secret to help him to maintain the operation," replied Masato
"But what will happen to her once she has hard proof evidence to put her boss behind the bars?"
"Well, I did ask her but she said she would think about it once we obtain the hard proof evidence and go to jail for it."
"I guess that she knew her consequences before heading to the agency," Daisuke sighed with little sadness.
"But she might think about it right now before heading to jail," Masato reassured Daisuke.
As the green light was on, he stepped on the accelerator pedal and continued to drive to the location to stake out to find any evidence that fulfilled Chika's request.

Extra Notes
I was originally going to finish this chapter until it was done but I decided to split it into 2 or 3 parts of the chapter. It will take a long time to finish and I had some difficulties to continue the chapter.
This chapter is focusing on my OCs who are within their agency such as Kazuhiro, Daisuke, Masato, and few others. Their character's state will not reveal their both magic and combat abilities as it only shows in this story. I will try my best to write their fighting scene.
As for the Daisuke Takaya Character, I was originally going to make him a son of a deceased detective but I changed it because it somehow does not fit into the story that I had in my mind. I might have to figure out why so that I will try to fix it or not. As for his magic and physical skill, he is somehow between capable and incapable during combat and open-field (which I was not supposed to reveal this).
Like I said at the beginning note, I might have to rewrite this chapter due to my rusty writing skill if it somehow does suit yourself or you're really either disappointed or hate this chapter or story.
