Barry watched intently as Wally ran through Star Labs pipeline.
"Damn he's faster than you when you started." said Cisco analyzing the tablet. Barry nodded his head. His mind focused on something else.
"Vitals are normal for someone whose jogging." Added Caitlin.
"Do you think this isn't his top speed then?" Asked Cisco.
Caitlin shrugged. "The only way to know for sure is to have him run faster."
"Seems you might have some competition for the fastest man alive, that isn't a big bad." Cisco chuckled. Barry said nothing.
"Are you okay, son?" Asked Joe uneased by Barry's continued silence. His question caught the rest of the team's focus.
"Is something wrong, bar?" Iris asked as she stepped toward Barry. Her hand grazed his shoulder, and barry's head shot back as if someone punched him. Iris jumped and Barry turned to her. "What?" he asked.
"Barry are you okay?" Caitlin asked.
"Yeah, yeah I just uh thinking about work." Barry said. He cracked his neck, "How's Wally?"
"Um you would know Peter Pan if you were listening." Cisco teased still not letting go of Barry's distraction.
"Fair." Barry said with a smile.
A flash of yellow lightning and Wally stands in the middle of the room with a goofy look on his face, "Well?"
"You hit Mach 2, twice as fast when Barry started." Cisco said.
"Ha!" cheered Wally, "Does that mean I'm ready to join the Justice League."
"Uh no." Said Joe, giving his son a hug, "You're fast kid but I don't think you're even ready for the streets of Central City."
Wally pulled away from Joe and faced Barry, "Come on, Barry tell them I'm ready."
Barry looked from Wally to Joe and to the rest of the team. "Sorry, Wall, but your dad is right, not ready."
"Well can you help me be ready then." Wally said.
Barry opened his mouth before a beep echoed in his ear. He tapped his wrist where a small hologram appeared with 'Justice League Alert'. "Not now." Barry said patting Wally on his shoulder, "I'm needed at the hall of Justice." With a crack of thunder flash of yellow lightning The Flash was gone.
Wally stood there dejected while the rest of Team Flash disbanded to go about their own business.
"Hey, maybe Barry doesn't have time but there is another speedster you could talk to." informed Iris before leaving.
"Who?" Wally asked.
"I think Barry said his name was Jay Garrick."
Oliver Queen was dodging tennis balls that were being fired at him from a modified tennis ball launcher and shooting them down with his arrow. He jumped out of the way of a tennis ball hurled at his head, and in a swift movement shot the tennis ball out of the air before dropping to the floor to avoid another hurtling ball. He swiped a fletchette from his thigh holster and flung it into the ball.
He looked at the ball launcher and saw it was empty. He hopped onto his feet to begin grabbing the balls to restart the excercise.
"How many were you able to hit?" asked Roy as he came into the bunker.
Oliver smiled at the sight of his protege, "Roy, haven't seen you in a couple of weeks, how's College."
Roy dropped his book bag before giving Oliver a hug, "a lot easier now that I'm spending my nights hitting the books instead of the streets."
"I'm glad." Oliver said sincerely before heading over to his workbench to grab a drink of water. Roy looked around the Bunker without John, Felicity, Laura or Thea in it, it felt bigger.
"How have you been, you know since Team Arrow broke off." Roy asked.
Oliver gave another smile which reached his eyes. It made Roy slightly sad. "Truth be told I think its been good, gave me a chance to kind of focus on myself and get some stuff in my life together, like everyone else."
"Yeah?" Roy said his sorrow growing, he had thought leaving Team Arrow and the Arsenal name would give him a chance to find some measure of peace but it only tore a hole in his heart.
"Yeah, Thea's getting her GED and sending applications to colleges, Laura's starting her own practice to help people in Star City who can't afford legal help, John is really enjoying be a father, and Felicity and Ray are doing well in Boston."
"Hell I even gone to Therapy realizing that I've been shouldering everyone's problems forcing myself to be a solution to them." Oliver said.
"yeah," Roy started, "Speaking of problems..." Before Roy could finish his thoughts a loud beep in successions went off. Oliver ran over to the computer area and saw 'Justice League Alert' flash on the screen.
"Sorry, Roy gotta go but lets talk later." Oliver said racing to his Suit display. Roy watched Green Arrow leave then turned to look at his Arsenal suit still on display.
"Yeah, we'll talk later."
Hal Jordan the green lantern of space Sector 2814 was working with Thomas Kalmaku on their plane.
"So then what happened?" Thomas asked.
"John drilled a hole through the roof of the ship and dropped their phase cannon and front of them and said 'I think you dropped this.'" Hal said as he handed Thomas a palm drill. Thomas laughs, "Man this John Stewart sounds badass."
"Yeah he is." Hal agreed with a twinge of jealousy. Hal was the original earth green lantern had the most experience but it seemed more and more the Guardians of the Universe were calling John Stewart to face the intergalactic threats. Not that Hal should complain it meant he had more time to spend on Earth or the other planets in his sector.
"Okay I think thats lunch." Thomas wiped sweat from his forehead, "Charley's Cheesesteaks?"
Hal shook his head as he wiped his hands on a blue rag, "We go there all the time."
"Well it is the closest thing to Ferris Air." countered Thomas.
"Domingo's Mexican & Seafood" Hal offered.
"Heck no, I still have the runs from the last time we ate there." Thomas growled. "Coyote Cafe."
"Fine." Hal surrendered as the two men started to leave the plane hangar, Hal's ring started to glow, "Justice League Priority Alert."
"Darn it,." stated Hal his stomach rumbling.
"Get you a doggie bag?" asked Thomas.
"I think we might still have some food in the fridge." Thought Hal, "Unless the Flash or Oberon tore through it." Thomas smiled and waved as Hal's clothes were replaced with the Lantern uniform and he flew off into the air.
"Are you serious?" asked Kendra Saunders the Hawkgirl, as she swallows. She puts down her half eaten tarb and stares at Carter Hall the Hawkman. "This is your favorite Authentic Egyptian restaurant."
"What." Carter Hall said playfully grabbing a Tarb and taking a bite, "its good."
"Oh god, I can't believe your eating that." Kendra shook her head.
Carter swallows, "Listen I'm a creature of habit, if you think you can find a better one in St. Roch show me." Kendra just rolled her eyes. Carter smiled at himself, this wasn't a date, something Kendra had reminded him of a dozen times before they met up, but its been a few months since she and Hal Jordan broke up and he couldn't stop his heart from hoping they might finally get together.
A beep coming from both of their phones stopped his train of thought. He pulled out his phone to see "Justice League Priority Alert" flash on their phones.
"I guess we'll continue this another time." Carter said but saw Kendra was already heading into a deserted alley to become her persona: Hawkgirl. Carter sighed and handed his lunch over to a homeless man. "I hope you enjoy it." Carter shouted before entering the alley.
"Whats the emergency?" asked the Flash sliding to a stop in front of Oberon who jumps up in shock.
"What I didn't call this meeting" The Justice League Liason said.
"Well we didn't either." Said Green Lantern accompanied by Hawkgirl and Hawkman.
"Green Arrow?" said Hawkgirl looking for their final member of their team.
Green Arrow walked through the doors seeing the Justice League gathered but stopped when he noticed their questioning look on their face.
"Who called the meeting?" He asked. The team looked at each other, was it a computer error?
"We did." Came a masculine voice, A young man with a tuft of blonde hair, wearing a green vest with brown stripes running down his shoulders, and a green mask.
Green Arrow pointed his bow and arrow at the intruder. lightning crackled around the flash. A giant green shoe appeared above the intruder, and Hawkgirl and Hawkman had drawn out their maces.
"Who the hell are you?" Green Arrow demanded, wondering how this...child got into the Hall of Justice.
"My name is Connor Hawke, I'm the Green Arrow and I didn't come alone." Purple lightning filled the room as the Justice League were shoved back and disarmed. The Flash was the first to get up and saw a girl and boy in matching purple and white costumes spun to a stop in front of the proclaimed Connor Hawke.
A flash of green light filled the room as a man with black hair floated above his comrades in a half black, half white suit and a blocky green mask covered half his face.
A man stepped in front of the rest of young heroes in a silver armor similar to the Hawks but carried an Axe.
"We're the Justice League." Announced the man in silver armor to the stunned heroes.
