Intervention

The behemoth of muscle hurled Megumi Fushigura, the student that had tried and failed to fight Sukuna, through the air, leaping after him and throwing a punch. Before it could it, Shinji drilled a punch into his back, sending him exploding down into the top of the building. Then, he flipped, landing on his feet ahead of the behemoth, landing just in time for his right arm to snap up, the muscles bulging grotesquely to rival the behemoth's own arms, just in time to catch a punch. The roof behind him shattered and the two of them skidded across it for ten feet before stopping.

"Not bad," the behemoth grinned. "You've got some impressive power. I'd be more impressed if that wasn't a Curse's arm."

"We all make do with what we have as best we can," Shinji said.

"Very true," the behemoth said. "My name is Aoi Todo, and I only have one question for you. What's your taste in women? If you had to choose the ideal woman, what would she look like?"

"That's two questions, but as the meaning is the same, I'll let it slide," Shinji said, releasing Todo's fist and stepping back. "As for my taste in women, that depends. What type of woman are we talking about? If its the type that likes to be tied up, they need to be tall and have an hourglass figure, that way they look good no matter what position they're tied into. If it's a virgin, she needs to be petite and skinny, and has to act shy, or at least innocent. If it's the type of girl who like's inviting another girl to have a threesome with her and her boyfriend, she needs to have medium breasts, somewhere in the twenties to thirties C-cup range. And if it's a complete whore, she needs to have either a big ass, or huge tits. So, as I said, it depends on the type of woman you're referring to."

Todo considered for a moment before nodding. "I can respect that answer. I don't agree with it all, but I can respect it. You're probably the second most interesting person I've met."

"Lovely," Shinji said, rolling his eyes. "Now why don't you run along back to that arrogant bitch with the green hair down there."

"I don't think so," Todo grinned. "I've got someone interesting in front of me. You expect me to walk away without fighting him? Yeah right!"

"Don't move," a voice behind Shinji said, Todo instantly freezing mid-punch.

Shinji turned, raising an eyebrow at a short boy with white hair and an odd design on either side of his mouth and on his tongue, though he zipped his uniform's high collar up to his nose a second later.

"What the hell are you two doing!?" Panda demanded, leaping into view and punching Todo, sending him skidding backward, though not hurting him much, then sighed. "Just barely safe."

"Benito flakes," the boy with the Cursed Speech said.

"I had it handled," Shinji said. "At least for a few more minutes."

"Long time no see, Panda," Todo grinned, apparently able to move again.

"Why couldn't you just wait until the exchange event?" Panda asked. "Now go on home before I start screaming, 'No!'"

Todo snorted. "You don't have to tell me to go home." He turned away, looking around. "Now, where'd I put my jacket?" He looked back at Panda and the short kid. "At least after this it looks like I might not be bored the whole time. I'm not sure who you are," he looked at Shinji, "but if you're a student, I expect to see you at the event."

"I'm not," Shinji said. "I was refused entry because I'm not impressive enough to the principal."

"That's a shame," Todo said. "Another time, then, maybe." He looked back to Panda again. "Give Okkotsu a message. Tell him he had better show up."

"I merely panda, no understand human speak," Panda said.

"Salmon," the other kid said.

Todo narrowed his eyes, then dropped off the building. Both of them turned to Shinji.

"So, a Curse's arm, huh?" Panda asked. "How'd that happen?"

"Fifty percent my business, and fifty percent not yours," Shinji said.

"Jeez, sorry," Panda said. "I was just curious. That thing's got some serious power if it can block Todo's punch."

"He's definitely a monster, I'll give him that," Shinji said. "Anyway, I'm going to head home. Clearly I'm not welcome here, so I'm not going to overstay my welcome."

"Sorry you got rejected," Panda said.

"Salmon," the smaller boy said.

"Oh, Megumi Fushigura, right?" Shinji asked, Megumi nodding. "Here. You're a mess."

He tossed him a rag and Megumi glared at him before closing his eyes to wipe off the blood coating the upper half of his face. Then, he jumped over the outer wall of the school, only to stop as he found Gojo Waiting.

"You know, you're terrifying," Shinji said.

"Or maybe you're predictable," Gojo said.

"You weren't there until after I landed," Shinji said. "What do you want, anyway?"

"I have a job for you," Gojo said.

"What now?" Shinji asked. "More Special Classes?"

"There's a disappearance I need you to look into," Gojo said.

"Where?" Shinji asked.

Gojo gave him the address and Shinji left, heading out on his next unofficial mission.

Shinji dropped the disintegrating Curse's body off to the side, watching the Special Grade ahead of him. It was yet another Unregistered, but it was nothing compared the the last trio. It had blades sprouting from its back like an upright porcupine, but its front was vulnerable and its only method of attack was either its arms, which were jagged blades below the forearms, or to curl up and roll around. It was fast, but it wasn't exceptionally smart or powerful. He also had already broken most of the blades on its back before it had summoned a small horde of lesser Curses to kill him.

"Well?" Shinji asked. "If you're supposed to be a Special Grade, where's all the power that you're aupposed to have?"

The Curse shrieked, its digitigrade legs bending before it exploded forward. Then, as it pulled its arms back to strike, Shinji exploded forward, slamming his palm into the Curse. There was a pulse of red Curse Energy, and the Special Grade Curse exploded into blood and smoke. Shinji huffed, looking around before shrugging and heading home for the night.
