Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Red vs Blue. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Red vs Blue, Monty and a few others do.
Connecticut was NOT someone who enjoyed being used. She didn't at all care much about being made a weapon.
Connie had planned to defect to the 'insurrection' as Project Freelancer had dubbed them. Just another title in which to control them, to make them easier to kill. If there was such a thing to be done? They'd be doing it currently.
"Damn you…" Connie said as she placed her helmet on her head, gathering her knife and magnum as well.
Connie shook her head. The ones she had trusted to blow the whistle on Project Freelancer? Had turned out to be Charon, a company concerned with their own self worth and bottem line then any care for the reater good, it was enough to make her curious to end this.
However? She had planned for a double cross, it had been something she had fathomed before. With all amounts of power? There became those willing to do anything to get ahead.
Connie had decided to flee, both from Project Freelancer, almost everyone she guessed wouldn't believe her… And Charon, the company who would make her a enemy with the data she carried.
Her first stop? The Mother of Invention's labs. They had a problem making one final AI, somethin that she was eager to get her hands on. She would be taking it and leaving, as far and as wide into space as possible with it.
"All I've ever done is run, why stop now?" Connie asked as she placed her helmet atop her head, locking it into place.
Her small dark room was barren, clad only with a few posters and a few drewers. Connie kept only the basics here, anything else felt stupid, like it wasn't worth it.
Connie loaded her magnum and placed it on her hip. She wouldn't be using the gun, there was no need to. She looked at her knife.
"There's no coming back from this…" Connie said as she paused and then crept out into the hallway. "Ok, let's do this crap." Connie said as she slowly crept out into the hallway.
The dark hallway reminded her it was night, almost nobody was going to be up tonight. It was all coming together for her.
"Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like if they had known?" Connie asked before she sighed to herself. "No, they wouldn't trust me, they never have. They always think the director is perfect. If only they knew." Connie added to which she sighed.
She knew she was asking for trouble. If even one of the agents found out what happened? They'd kill her, she was good enough to match Carolina, but not all of the agents, and she was smart enough to know that they'd have no problem ganging up on her when it came down to it.
"Agent, may I ask where your going?" She heard from behind her as she turned to see the Councilor behind her.
"Just taking a walk around the ship, sir." Connie added, pausing to make sure she was ready to shoot him if she had to. "I've got a lot on my mind, I'm sorry, it's not easy to deal with at the end of the day." Connie said as Price hummed.
"I am sorry to hear about that, agent. Have you tried speaking to the director?" Price questioned as Connie felt her need to shoot him increase.
It annoyed her to no end that this man walked free. Connie knew he was a monster, maybe not as evil as the director, but he was part of the reason why the rest of the project hated each other.
"Maybe I might, director." Connie said before pausing to wait if he left or not.
He didn't, she'd be taking her chances with getting caughts then.
"You wouldn't happen to be heading to the labs, would you?" Price questioned as Connie was silent. "The director wold like a word with you, Agent Connecticut." Price added to which Connie said nothing as Project Freelancer soldiers appeared from around the corner.
She turned, drawing her magnum in one go and shooting the first soldier in the chest.
The next one caught a bullet to the head as he walked forward.
