Flapping Of Wings

Summary: Random bonus scenes from It Takes Two Wings To Fly, mostly from the moment Eren and Levi reunited onward. Fluff, fun, slight non graphic smut, occasional angst, short. Not in chronological order.

11. Monsters

Eventually, Eren and Levi ran into a shining centipede that gave its host powers almost identical to that of Titans and it was both the easiest and the hardest one to kill yet. It had made up a creature that looked like a cross between a skunk and a squirrel, it was a little taller than Eren, its tail was covered in a crystal-like structure that reminded them of Hardening and it had a specific way to be killed, otherwise it would just heal right back up.

The specific way needed to kill it? Cut off all four of its fused heads.

The only problem?

They grew right back, and double at that, that was how powerful its healing ability was.

Thankfully, Eren and Levi had figured out how to stop the thing before it grew too many heads for them to maneuver around without getting their own heads bitten off: Levi would cut off the heads while Eren would follow right behind him and Harden the surface over the wounds so the head can't grow back. As soon as they discovered this method works, they managed to reduce the creature to just one head when it decided to show them another of its abilities: like a skunk, it released a gas, only this one not only stank like all hell, it was extremely poisonous to humans.

Eren will never forget the moment he saw Levi suddenly collapse not a moment after the skunk-squirrel released some of the gas in the area, falling right off a branch he'd just landed on, the creature running towards the tree with its mouth open wide as if to catch the man and devour him. Eren lost control for the first time since his fight with Annie in the capitol and he didn't remember the fight that followed at all. All he knows was that when he came back to himself, Levi was barely breathing in the hands of his Titan as he ran back towards the town they have been living in for a year now, total and utter carnage left in his wake, not even a hint of the creature or the shining centipede left.

Eren didn't even care. He just had to get Levi medical attention.

And it would serve as a good reminder to the shining centipedes that they were not the only monsters who roamed these woods.
