Shattered Reality

"Allow me to welcome you to my own personal Domain," Jun Asado said. "Most Jujutsu Sorcerers of the modern era are laser focused on guaranteed kills with their Domains, but there is no guaranteed kill associated with mine. I just multiplied the guaranteed hit several times and carefully fine-tuned the effects of my Domain through more than then thousand battles. In this Domain, you're free to kill me. You just have to reach me first."

Shinji leapt from the side of the skyscraper he'd been thrown into, streaking at Asado and throwing a punch, only for his entire body to break apart like shattered glass, then reform behind Asado. Shinji vomited from the chaos it had caused in his mind, then grunted as a car slammed into him, sending him exploding to the ground. The car split into dozens of fragments and vanished, and Shinji growled in frustration.

"Fuck this!"

He swung a punch down at the ground, but the ground disassembled, leaving him spinning helplessly through a chaotic void of swirling fragments of the surrounding landscape of the city. And then, without him having realized he had even moved, he exploded, once again, into the skyscraper.

"Die!" Kasumi shouted, slashing from behind Asado, only for her sword to break apart and vanish.

Asado spun, brandishing his butter knife, and Kasumi shrieked in pain as the dull blade tore through her abdomen.

"Kasumi!" Shinji shouted, forming and firing a Cero from both hands.

The blasts flashed up at Asado, only to break apart, the fragments seeming to scatter into oblivion, only to then reappear and recombing themselves, streaking back down and exploding into Shinji. Kasumi screamed again, and Shinji roared in effort, punching down at his own leg. Except, his arm folded at the bicep, then again at the middle of the forearm, resulting in his punch missing. There was no pain, but the sight and contradiction of it once again caused him to vomit. Again, Kasumi shrieked in pain, this time because of a minivan exploding down on her legs at the same time as Moondregs and Junpei both broke apart as they charged Asado, only to reform just in time to explode into the front of a subway train, which was flying through the air as though on a set of railway cars.

"Fuck this!" Shinji snarled. "We have to try!"

"Agreed!" Yuma snarled in the back of his mind.

"Domain Shift!" both roared, focusing harder than they ever had before. "Soul Plane!"

The world around Shinji distorted and blurred, but rather than forming into the desert, instead, the rock formations from their Domain Expansion merely materialized in the air, dozens of them, if not more, and began to fall like rain. Then, each time one struck, it burst apart, the fragments spiraling, curving, and tumbling through the air as projectiles. Shinji shouted in pain as one crashed into him from behind, then flipped, punching at another, only for it to break apart before he could strike it, then reform to his left, continuing its flight toward him, now from a different direction, and explode into him, sending him slamming into Junpei and Moondregs.

"What do we do?" Junpei asked as they clambered to their feet.

Just then, Kasumi's Shikigami's upper body formed over her, roaring, and whipped its arms outward. Countless threads shot out, tethering themselves to the storm of boulders, connecting them with huge sections of webbing. As they continued to fly through the air, more and more webs filled the air, contorting, twisting, and tangling. And then, all at once, the webs snapped tight, binding Asado. And then, Asado broke apart and vanished, only to reappear behind Shinji, his butterknife tearing through Shinji's back, then through Junpei's side. A boulder crashed down on Shinji's left leg, and Junpei exploded into a skyscraper, blood flying from his mouth.

Asado continued to brutalize all three of them. He slashed them, he beat them bloody, he hurled cars, subways, and even a skyscraper itself at them, and all the while, they were powerless to so much as land a single blow on him. Finally, all three exploded into the ground so hard that the world around them shattered apart. However, Asado watched all three lying motionlessly for a moment before releasing his Domain. As the world around them returned to the state it had been in before, he walked over to them, raising his knife.

"You put up a good fight, but you were never going to win," Asado said. "I've never been touched in my Domain, so you and your Shikigami did better than anyone begore you, and all three of you survived longer than anyone before you. I'll be sure to give you each a propper burial, And I'll make this next part painless."

He knelt over Kasumi, but just as he raised his butter knife, Shinji's right arm closed around his ankle. Instantly, there was a flash of bloody light as Shinji's Cursed Energy invaded Asado's body. A split-second later, huge rupters burst into existance over Asado's body, blood spraying out of his body, splattering over the world around him. Asado crashed to the ground, coughing and gasping for breath, eyes wide with fear and surprise as Shinji rose, his wounds sealing themselves before Yuma took control of his arm, healing both of the others.

"I told you," Shinji said as they also rose. "It's a surprise attack, not a combat one."

Kasumi nodded. "Asado, you're going to die. Before that, give us your points."

Asado's face hardened. "You think this battle's over?" He scoffed. "This is nothing!"

He lunged, but Kasumi's arm swept upward, the arm with which Asado was holding his butter knife spinning into the air before Kasumi lowered Shinji's Cursed Tool sword.

"Give us your points," Kasumi said again, more forcefully."

"Domain-" Asado began, only to go silent as Yuma drove his hand entirely through his head.

Shinji sighed, gripping Asado's head by the top and allowing Yuma to pull his arm free before Yuma returned control of the arm to Shinji. "What a waste of good points."

He straighened up again, then sighed, shaking his head. "Now, Kogane, who has the next-highest point count here?"

His Kogane appeared, listing the new highest point total, and Shinji nodded, looking around.

"Let's head back to the top of the skyscraper," Shinji said. "This'll go faster if we just call him out."

Kasumi and Junpei nodded, and all three turned, walking back toward the skyscraper, Kasumi picking up her katana as she passed it, handing Shinji his sword as well.
