Hermione
The sun was out for once when her two maids came to her chambers and dressed her in soft amber colors that her grandfather always wanted her to be in. Her hair tidy up into a bun dressed in many ornaments of pearls and gold.
Many times, she loath this treatment. She wanted to do things by her own hand. She wanted to be able to dress by and for herself. She wanted to talk for herself. She wanted to be able to walk out into the village without being watch to spend her time at the library.
"Your grandfather wants a word with you Miss." Ginny chined helping her into one beautiful brown robe that filled out her body well.
Hermione nodded her head.
Luna the second Maid opened her bedroom door and the two of them follow her to her grandfather's room without delay and with each step Hermione felt dread.
.
Tom Riddle slammed the ugly leather book on the table in front of Hermione the moment that the two maids left to take their place outside their door and she tried everything in her power not to even flinch or cower at his voice.
Be Brave
Hermione told herself- "What is the meaning of this?" He asked her not even waiting for an answer. The leather book stared up at her face mocking. The leather book that had writings of a famous muggle-born author.
"When I took you in, I promised your mother that I will raise you like one of my own."
Riddle's voice raise with each word and Hermione was sure that everyone could've heard him in the house.
Her grandfather was a very ugly man with a character. His appearance resembles more of a snake and she didn't see any inch of her own mother in him. In a distance her grandfather was a very strong and proud man.
"I looked pass her own sins. This book or any book is not comely for a woman."
"Lower class women able to read and write." Hermione replied.
The door to her grandfather room opened and a woman in a plain white dress walked in holding a tray that has a white porcelain tea-pot and two tea cups. She avoided their eyes and bowed her head. Her shoulders were tensed as she set up the table and pour their tea in their respectable cups. During this time no talking was made and only when she left that Riddle replied. His voice cold as ice.
"The lower class are animals and uncivilized. Your worth is beyond silly things as that. My child, why don't you focus on flowers, music, painting and finding a good suitable husband. These books and urges will due you no good for your future or the future of our house."
Hermione always hate being reminded of her stats and what was expected of her. She always hated how her grandfather always throw her mother in her face and on how she couldn't help not remembering her or much detail at all.
"When you're married everything going to get better." Ginny said and Hermione realized she wasn't in her grandfather quarters anymore. Luna was awfully quiet.
Hermione didn't even want to get married.
Many women often told her that marriage is a blessing, ,that it's freedom from their father's hands, but she didn't see it that way at all. All Hermione saw was just another prison.
Severus Snape
.
He could still remember the day twenty years ago when both of his parents were killed.
His mother accused of sleeping with king. His mother accused of witchcraft by the Queen. Bellatrix ordered the death of her whole family. He remembers her pleading with her to at least spare her husband and son, but the queen didn't even want to hear any of it. The King that forced himself on his mother nowhere to be found.
The Queen ordered her men to take him and his father away.
Snape remembered running. He remembers the tightness of his chest when his father pushes him away, to run and fight off the Queen's men. He faintly remembers begging her to stop, that she was killing them.
He was naïve back then.
His mother wails rang his ears. His father shouts echoed. Then he heard the king's voice.
Tom Riddle entered the throne room like a phantom, like a shadow.
"Enough with the drama. If you mean to kill them just do it. You're dirtying up the room with these antics."
.
25 YEARS LATER
"I would like a room please." Snape said placing 10 Galleons in the inn-keepers hand. The Leaky Cauldron was a very popular inn in The Wizardry world. He often spends a few nights when he's away for work.
Helen the Inn-keeper smiled and hungry snatched the Galleons and quickly handed him a key.
"What brings you here this time."
Snape frowned not liking how nosy this inn-keeper was, but yet that can't be help when they know each other for a good ten years.
"Business." He took the key and went on his way. To an empty room that was both cold and dark to dream once more the years that took place before.
He hung his cloak at the chair by the end table. It was a long day, a very long day.
