Chapter 2 : Everybody's Got A Story

Kagome laughed as she struggled to lift the large box from the floor; the sun gleamed against a cloudless blue sky. The heat was heavy as it wafted through the stiff air, not a single breeze blew through the air. Kagome wiped her brow as sweat beaded; she heaved as she struggled to balance a heavy box on her shoulder. The box filled with individual gift boxes that contained toiletries, dried goods and miscellaneous items; the items shook as she walked towards the empty truck, she placed the box in the truck with a thud and continued her task. People moved around her, as they all tried to pack the truck; she heaved as she lifted her last box before placing it in the tuck with a thud. She dusted her hands, and walked out of the warehouse in search of her boss. She curtly nodded as her co-workers passed her by, and continued down the dimly lit hallway, she pulled the doors open and was greeted by the sound of laughter and chatter.

She approached the dirty blonde haired man , and said "Hey Kovu, I just finished the final set! Are all the other trucks loaded?"

Kovu turned to face her, his face softening as she stared into his dazzling icy blue eyes "Thank you Kagome, yes they're all good to go" he said softly

"How many locations today?" she asked

"We've got the Covenant House, Van Hotten house, and Carnival row" he said

She sighed, and frowned as grabbed the clipboard in his hand "Carnival Row? Didn't we just make a drop off on Monday?"

Kovu crossed his arms in front of his chest, his large forearms flexing with annoyance as his tongue flicked his canines.

"Yeah but apparently Zero has some new girls" he said quietly as he closed the distance between them

She bit her lip, and shook her head "You seem agitated, Kovu, what's wrong?"

He sighed as his claws wracked through his hair "Two girls quit this week so I'm to my ears in deliveries and with these new missing demonesses -"

"Wait, there's been more?" Kagome asked, her blue eyes widened in shock

Kovu chuckled dryly "Yeah kid! Five this month alone"

Kagome kissed her teeth "Is anyone doing anything about it? What about the council?"

He laughed, and rolled his eyes "Besides you and me hitting these streets! No, Toga's too worried about human and demon relations to care about a few missing female demons"

"That's bull! Humans have an entire infrastructure that protects us, if I went missing tomorrow; the fucking national guard would be looking for me"

"I know kid, but Toga's got some serious blindspots when it comes to humans"

She hummed, and said "Clearly! Well looks like I'm pulling doubles all week"

Kovu's blue eyes softened, as he said "You're one of a kind Kagome!"

She smiled sheepishly "I'm just doing my part"

She dusted her hands before handing the demon back the clipboard, she followed him closely as he walked towards the truck. The large bronzed man, his curly ashen hair swished behind him as his footsteps echoed throughout the warehouse; his herculean body was robust and taunt, his brawny arms were on display in his tight black t-shirt. With every step his muscles clenched and released; his jaw tight as a deep scowl etched on his face; she could see his agitation as his fingers flexed and cracked. Her reiki crackled around her as his demonic energy flowed from his body, she bit her lip and walked up closer to him before placing her hand on his shoulder.

He stopped, as his body stiffened.

"I've got your back Kovu but you've got to relax! These women will sense your anger, and they've been through enough. They don't need to deal with a volatile alpha!" she whispered, her blue eyes scanning the space.

He nodded, and pulled open the driver side before he climbed into a large black moving truck. He waited as she jugged around the front, whipped open the door and hopped into the passenger seat.

"Alright let's roll out boss" she smiled

He chuckled and said "You watch too much TV"

They pulled out of the warehouse; the giant garage door opened slowly allowing them to slowly merge into traffic. Kovu pulled his tinted black glasses on, and mindlessly fiddled with the blue stone hanging from his necklace, Kagome's lips pulled into a half smile.

"The charm still works Kovu, no one can see the real you but me" she reassured him

He nodded, and sighed "You know there was a time where being what I am was celebrated! Where I could walk out in the street with my head held high and my chest filled with pride. I do not miss the old days often but whenever I'm reminded that I must hide to survive. I wish-" he said softly, his eyes transfixed on the road as small cars moved around them.

Kagome listened attentively; as human miko she could never understand his plinth or the pain he felt but she had vowed to herself long ago that she would always support his kind and fight for their equality. It was the least she could; she looked down at her hands and sighed. "What was your home like?" she asked.

Kovu smiled softly "Cold! I was born in Norge, or what is now known as Norway. There were mountains that reached the sky, beautiful lush valleys covered in snow most of the time and a vast ocean! I traveled by longship wherever my heart desired; mostly towards mead and women"

Kagome chuckled, "Do you miss it? Home I mean"

"Sometimes! I miss the salty air, and the open ocean but my home is long gone, Kagome. It's been lost to the colonizer" he said bitterly, before he shook his head and said "Sorry, I shouldn't have-"

Kagome shook her head, and said quietly "No, it's okay! You're only speaking the truth. My people did colonize yours, and the planet. If it's any consolation, we've royally fucked everything up"

Kovu laughed, and smiled "Humans are new! They will learn, you will learn" he said gently

Kagome looked out the window, and thought "I hope you're right Kovu"

They continued the ride in silence, with only the sound of traffic to fill the air. They reached their first destination, and Kovu backed the truck agilly at the mouth of the alley. The pair quickly jumped out of the truck before moving towards the back. Kovu pulled open the back door, and they moved to unload the first few boxes. Kagome watched as a corn-yellow haired woman appeared from the shadows, and stood in the shade at the mouth of the alley. Her dainty form was clad in a porcelain white sun-dress; she waited patiently as Kovu approached.

"Afternoon Dahlia" Kovu said, as he bowed his head in respect.

The women smiled softy, and scoffed "Oh that hardly necessary, I'm no longer royalty"

"You will always be royalty to me," Kova said, as he smiled.

Dahlia smiled, and said "You flatter me as always"

Kagome unloaded the final box that was meant for Covenant House, she diligently counted five boxes before she turned to Kovu.

She admired Dahila, and the ladies of the house. Dahlia was a statuques bat demoness hailing from the valleys of Romania; she had sought sanctuary in the East and found Kovu who helped her build the Covenant House. The two demons had much history between them, but aside from their turbulent relationship, they shared a similar cause. Protecting their own; Dahlia had noticed that there were seldom spaces of safety for female demons, or work so she brought the idea of the Covenant House to Kovu and he provided her with the money to purchase the large building. The house's mission was to provide education, access to work and shelter to female demons and their kin. As the Covenant House expanded, they began providing shelter to human women fleeing domestic violence; their new additions had allowed them to hide in plain sight.

"We have five boxes D! Three have feminie hygiene products, and the final two have dry food" she said as she stood beside the wolf demon.

Dahlia nodded, and said "Thank you Kagome! We have four new girls who became apart of the Covenant House this week"

Kagome nodded, "What does that bring the count too?"

Dahlia sighed, and said "fifty-nine women and twelve children! Forty two are female demons, and the twelve children are all of demon heritage"

"What about Ari? Is she back?" Kagome asked hopefully; she had missed the vibrant phoenix bit her lip nervously, as Dahlia smiled sadly "No, I'm afraid she is not. She left her two fledgling behind and we are caring for them the best we can"

Kagome shifted her weight, and crossed her arms impatiently "Do you have any leads D?"

Dahlia's eyes hardened, as she walked closer towards Kagome. The bat demoness arched her head, and scanned the alley before she said quietly "Her good for nothing Alpha came by before she left, and they had words. At an escalated volume! She was gone the following evening"

Kagome nodded, and said "Do you have a name?"

Dahlia shook her head, and said "Not likely a real one dearest"

Kovu sighed, and said "We will keep an eye out tonight! We are hitting Row"

The bat demoness nodded, and simply turned before she added "Will you be attending the council meeting on Friday?"

Kovu arched his eyebrow, and shook his head "You know how I feel about politics Dahlia" he said sternly

Dahlia sighed, and looked over to him "That's quite a shame, I'm sure you would have brought wondrous ideas. If only you'd voice them"

Kovu nodded curtly, and said "Okay! I'll see you next week Dahlia. Stay out of trouble, and stop drinking that pigs blood; I can smell it from your pores"

He turned on his heel, and moved to climb into the truck as Kagome followed suit. He sighed, and said "We've got a long day ahead of us"

Kagome simply nodded, and remained quiet as Kovu's hands wrapped around the steering wheel tightly; his knuckles whitened with the pressure as the metal creaked under the pressure. She sighed, and muttered "You always get so revved up whenever she mentions the council"

Kovu huffed "I'm not the biggest fan of the council leaders"

Kagome asked "There's three right? Kirinmaru, Tskyamaru and -"

"Lord Toga" he said sourly

"I've met him a few times" she added, as she mindlessly played with the hem of her tank top

Kovu frowned, and looked over to her briefly "How do you know Toga?"

"His son Inuyasha, we ah dated a while back" she said quietly

"The pup is mated now to -"

"My sister, Kikyo."

Kovu's eyes widened as he nodded slowly "Tough break kid"

Kagome shook her head, attempting to shake free the river of memories that threatened to break from the carefully placed dam in her mind.

"It doesn't matter, it happened a long time ago! So I know why I'm weird about Toga but why are you?"

Kovu sighed, and licked his lip dryly "I'm a man of honor Kagome, this world may be changing but I will always be Viking. We value honor of the code above all else; Lord Toga is many things but he seldom follows the code"

Kagome nodded slowly, as she tried to understand "The code?" she asked, unaware of the meaning or history of the code.

Kovu laughed, and placed a heavy hand on her knee "I tell you about it someday, but we've got work to do! Come on" he said, as they pulled up to another dinghy building. Kagome simply nodded, and opened her door and continued with their task. The day dragged on as the heat barred down on them, the late afternoon sun blistering as the two diligently poured the contents into the building quickly and quietly; receiving updates on the new additions and silently plotting how they would change their next shipment to accommodate the new children.

Kagome watched as two demons spoke, and she frowned as she realized the few boxes they unloaded would barely last the shelter a few weeks. The need for food, and shelter was vastly outgrowing what they were able to create; every day she heard of the growing amount of people who would come to these shelters for a warm bed, and food. Anything to escape the elements, and guaranteed safety from the hunters! Her heart ached for the once noble species; beings forced from their homes, unable to find jobs unless they conceal who they truly are and even then the amount of priestesses and monks willing to help weren't many. Only demons who amassed wealth or had connections could afford to procure a charm that could hide their true identity, which left everyone else to scrounge for themselves. Some lived underground, and others took to the water but for those who couldn't help but live on land their only options were to steal, beg or burrow. She didn't know which was worse, having to beg or burrowing from a human.

She bit her lip, and sighed "This isn't going to be enough" she muttered

The fox demon's ears flickered, and her smile softened "Oh my chere, we will be alright!"

Kagome attempted to pull her lips into a tight smile, trying to reassure the fox demoness.

"Of course Delphine, uhm I was wondering if you've heard from Ari?" she asked, her chest tight with concern for her flame hair coloured friend

Delphine shook her head and said "No, my dear! I'm sorry, but I will look" her French accent thickened as she spoke.

Kagome waved her hand, and said "No no, we will look! Stay away from the row and call me if you have any trouble! I noticed some men out front"

Delphine smiled widely "Oh no, they're courtesy of !"

Kovu arched an eyebrow "Kimi? Is she a new benefactor?"

"Oui, she is now a controlling member of the council! In less than forty eight hours, she sent us some food and money for operations" she said

"Money?" Kagome said excitedly, her oceanic eyes light up.

Delphine jumped slightly, her tail swishing behind her as her green eyes danced with joy. Delphine said joyously "Yes, my chere! Things are looking up"

"Who is she?" Kovu asked, his arms crossed against his chest. His eyebrow cocked, and tongue pressed against his cheek; the viking wolf didn't like the sound of council aid, he knew aristocats seldom did anything without seeking some sort of payment in return.

Delphine shrugged "No one really knows but she's rumored to be leading the resistance! Who knows, maybe one day soon, we will truly be free" she said hopefully, her large brown eyes brimming with hope.

Kagome smiled "Viva la resistance"

Delphine laughed, and walked back over to the door before waving at the pair.

"You really need to attend one of those council meetings" Kagome said shaking her head,

"Yeah yeah, whatever! Let's walk to the row from here, grab the backpacks" Kovu said, his tone dripping with annoyance.

Kagome simply nodded, not wanting to push her boss. The wolf's temper was legendary; she picked up their backpacks and followed the ashen haired man closely. The large abandoned street, with a harbor nestled towards the deadend on what felt like the edge of the city.

They had left the large old building that currently occupied the Van Hounten house, a home for demon youth, run by two beautiful fox demons. The pair of foxes fled France after the uprising after losing their home, and more than half of their pack; in the 1980's they found the abandoned lot and built the Van Houten House, accepting all demons of various linage and backgrounds. After meeting Kovu, Kagome had become exposed to the plinth of demons and it changed her outlook;especially considering her less than welcoming upbringing. Once she was introduced to Delphine, and the children of the house she fell in love and knew that she would do anything to protect the strong vixens . Including keeping them far away from the Row, she grimaced as she thought of the cesspool; filled with drug dealers, traffickers, sorceresses, and the Market. The Row was home to brothels, where humans who bought demons would sell them for a night of pleasure or pain depending on the customer's preference. Many demons went into debt as they tried to feed their families, many became servants to the brothels or the market; selling their skin or pieces of their body for a dollar.

The Row was created in the early 1800's by a group of humans who owned a circus; they had claimed to only want to provide meaningful work for demons so they could live a dignified life.

They quickly learned that was a crock of shit!

The creators of the Row secretly built an underbelly of Tokyo, that thrived off the pain of demons. Due to the lack of work, and the segregation and alienation of the demon race; they were able to create an entire business that exploited them. The creators of the Row started by "lending" money to the demons, and tacking on an impossible interest rate that led the payee to succumb themselves to servitude and thus began the Market. Where humans could buy a demon, whether it was pleasure or simply for someone to clean their homes; the Market would sell male or female demons, even children; whoever entered the contract was fair game if they didn't pay back their loan.

The drugs were the tipping point, as the Row continued to grow so did the vendors. Some vendors bought demons to create an aphrodisiac, ripping pieces out of their bodies and collecting saliva, semen, ovaries and the like and selling it to the highest bidder. Wealthy humans would send someone to The Row to purchase exotic items from the Row, the majority of them being high end drugs that led to a longer lasting high or bestowed demonic powers for a short period of time. The never ending stream of demons that required financial aid kept the Row, and Market brimming with demons sold into servitude and parts available for the market, a vicious cycle.

Kagome flinched as they stood at the mouth of the abandoned alley, she sighed as her reiki tingled at her fingertips, she took a deep breath and muttered to herself "Calm down"

Kovu said quietly "Stay close"

Kagome nodded, as she watched a rat scurry across the alley. Her eyes fell upon the litter surrounding the garbage bins, and the multiple clothes lines; she could feel the barrier around the space tingling against her skin. The light sheen of the veil that hid The Row from the common eye, glittered to her as she saw the warping of the scene. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she took a step through the thin veil, her body moving slowly. She opened her eyes, watched as the once empty alley appeared brimming with people; tall apartment buildings stood covered in dirt, and blackened by the wear, vendor carts lined the sides and stacked cages of demons without humanoids stood in abundance. She grimaced as she watched various demons claw, and whimper at their cages as people walked by; her gaze fell upon a human woman that walked through the Row with a demon trailing behind her, malnourished and naked. She clenched her jaw, and moved to shoot forward before Kovu grabbed her hand roughly, and yanked her back closely to him.

"Don't go playing hero kid! You and I aren't equipped to take on everyone. We are here to deliver a few supplies to the girls and ask about Ari"

Kagome nodded, and said "I know, it's just-"

"Kagome, not now" he said curly, his glacier eyes hardened as he peered into her. His jaw was tight, as the hairs along his neck stood on end.

Kagome swallowed a lump, and moved to walk behind the large wolf demon. Her eyes wandered as she watched the merchants pillering at their stands, she looked into the jars filled with pig ears, talons and eyeballs and held back a scowl. She could sense the energy coming from the bottles, and jars and knew they weren't pieces of animals. She looked up at the old woman smiling wickedly at her, as she followed Kovu; the walls were littered with booths of people peddling their wares, some shouting about the creams that reversed aging, blood that healed and poisons for your enemies.

"Pretty lady! Have you ever tried feline demon ovaries? They are said to help with conceiving" she smiled as she shoved a jar in her face.

She balked, and shook her head as she continued on her way.

She and Kovu reached a worn red door; Kagome looked up at the balconies and open windows as the female demons who worked at the brothel whistled and shouted trying to get any man's attention as they passed by.

Kovu sighed, before he knocked loudly.

"Password?" a voice said

"Cherry vodka" he said, the bass in his voice shaking the dingy door.

The door creaked open, and they walked in; the inside was tall and dimly lit, the walls painted a rich burgundy, with candles hanging on every fixture.

She shook her head, and whispered "Whoever casts these charms, is truly incredible"

"That would be me darling" a white haired woman said softly, her soft eyes filled with mischief. Her black corset tight, as her breast stood high; her tight black skirt framing her body and hugging her curves as she approached the pair.

"Zero, a pleasure" Kovu said quickly

Zero smiled wickedly "Oh sweet white wolf! When are you going to come here, and allow one of my girls to show you a good time"

Kovu smiled, and bowed his head "As I've told you before, I'm waiting for my imprint"

Zero sighed "Oh right! One of the few Alphas who still believes in finding his mate"

Kagome shot the demoness a tight smile, and said "We brought some things for you and the girls"

Zero clapped her hands tightly, and said "Oh fantastic! Things have been tight, and we are running low on everything! You know where do go"

"Kagome, can you place those in the kitchen? I need to have a word with Zero"

Kagome nodded, and moved towards the kitchen, following the familiar route. She admired the golden accents, as she walked into the kitchen, the wooden floor creaked underneath her.

"Kags" a voice yelled happily, Kagome's head shot up and she dropped the bags quickly and shot into the woman's arms.

"Ayame! Oh my gods, how are you?" she said happily, looking into the wolf demons eyes lovingly

Ayame smiled "I'm okay, works dry but i'm hanging on"

"How's Koga?" she asked carefully

Ayame sighed "Not too good! He's been using again, ever since he lost his leg. He hasn't been the same wolf"

Kagome bit her lip "I thought he had gotten clean?"

Ayame shrugged "So did I"

Kagome shook her head "Ah hell"

Ayame chuckled "Enough about me, how are you? I heard you went on a date"

Kagome nodded "Yeah first one since Inuyasha! It was alright, he was nice but not really my type"

Ayame laughed, "Human?"

Kagome nodded her head sheepishly "Yeah sadly!"

The two girls laughed, as the wolf demon helped her unload her bags; they caught up on their lives and talked about their dreams for the future. Kagome watched Ayame as she talked; the wolf had been working at a brothel ever since her mate had lost his leg to a hunter. She had sacrificed so much, including her dreams of having pups, all so she could support them. She was the definition of strong! She met the wolf shortly after her and Inuyasha had first met in her first year of university, Koga and Inuyasha fought like cats and dogs but she had hit it off with the ginger haired demoness. Even after she and Inuyasha had called it quits; she and Ayame had kept in touch and built a beautiful friendship.

"Kagome, we've got to get out here!" Kovu's voice rang through the house

"Coming!" Kagome said, as she pulled the demoness into a deep hug, and said "Call me okay! Love you"

"Love you too Kags"

Kagome jogged out of the kitchen to find Kovu standing in the same spot, slightly more frustrated than before.

"Everything ok?"

"I'll explain later! We need to go"

"What about Ari?"

"Don't argue Kagome! Now!" he said loudly, as he pulled her out of the door. The door creaked under his rough treatment, before they rushed into the street, and turned as they marched towards the exit; his clawed hand was clasped around hers. He pulled her through the crowd before she ripped her hand from his.

"Kovu, we have to find Ari!" she said angrily

" Damn it Kagome, we don't have time!"

"What the fuck are you talking about? What happened in there, what did Zero tell you?"

"I will tell you once we get out of here! We have to go!"

"Tell me now damnit!"

"She's dead" he yelled before she heard a pop, and a scream

Her head whipped around, her raven hair shaking as she moved quickly.

"HUNTERS" a voice yelled panicked

She looked at Kovu fearfully, and said "We've got to get you out of here"

He scoffed, and rolled his eyes as he said "You think?"

Doors began shutting, and people quickly scattered through the street as a group of milterized humans marched through the alley. She barely caught glimpses of them through the bodies that ran around her, barring her vision. She grabbed Kovu's hand, and weaved through the screaming people; she halted as her eyes fell upon two hunters blocking the exit.

"Shit" she muttered, her head whipping around. She quickly found a small narrow side street and ran towards it. She banged on two of the doors loudly, and looked at Kovu sadly before turning to him.

"No one will answer, we must hide" he said, as he struggled to remain calm, ink black seeped into his eyes as his beast rattled against its cage.

"Fuck!" she yelled, she bit her lip and shoved him towards the back of the alley; "Don't move" she said.

"Kagome -"

"I said don't fucking move" she said sternly, before walking towards to mouth of the alley. She stood there watching people moving frantically, hunters grabbing demons; she watched blood slipping from a woman's mouth as the hunter plunged his blue knife into her chest. She winced; but stood still as she diligently watched the hectic scene upfold, she had never witnessed a raid. She watched as the human pettlers were safely escorted out and she scoffed.

She looked up and saw a flash of white hair, as two hunters cornered someone in the alley. She looked behind her and noticed Kovu had taken refuge behind a dumpster. She moved quickly through the street, dodging running people as she weaved through the chaos. She reached the hidden alley quickly, before the vision in front of her took her breath. Her eyes found a tall, and brawny demon crouching with his fang barred; silver hair whipping wildly behind him. Her eyes fell to the jagged magenta stripes that framed his chiseled jawline, and the stark coloring difference between his glowing red eyes and his marless porcelain skin. The hunters raised their guns, as the demon stood in a fight stance, his tailored suit torn and bloody; she wondered for a moment if it was his blood or someone else's. Her eyes darted between the hunters and the exotic silver haired adonis, his claws glowed an irey green as they elongated as the hunters cocked their guns, and moved to take their shot. She felt the air stiffen, and time slowed as she watched them begin their attack; she felt nauseous as a metallic scent began polluting the air. Her eyes prickled with tears, as panic began to set in; she felt drawn to this demon she had never met. A strong urge to protect nestled in her gut; the ground quaked underneath her feet, as her reiki swirled around her, the pebbles and rocks on the floor shook as air filled her lungs and she screamed "NO!"

A white light ripped through her body, a strong force poured from her like water from a stream and knocked down the two hunters and the silver haired demon flew into the wall, knocking his head on the concrete before he fell unconscious.

Time stood still as she slowly turned her head, and looked around at the scene before noting the cracks in the concrete, and the people in close range knocked unconscious and struggled to return to their feet. She fell to her knees, and sighed as she watched the hunters roll on the ground, head in their hands as they groaned. Demons, and humans alike were battered from the blast; she shook her head and quickly rose to her feet, and ran to the silver haired demon.

He laid on his back, silver hair fanned around his head like a halo

"He looks like an angel" she thought; before she heard one of the hunters groan.

She shook her head free of her thoughts, and struggled to lift the demon.

"Kagome" Kovu yelled as he shot towards her, dodging the people staggering away from the chaotic scene. He looked around him with widened eyes, as he looked at the shattered windows and the cracks in the concrete. He walked over to her slowly, as he walked around the unconscious hunters.

She whipped her head around, tears running down her cheek "Help me please" she pleaded, he nodded quietly and ran over to her and bent down, his fingers found the unconscious demon's neck as he checked the demon's pulse.

"He's alive" he said, earning a sigh of relief from the raven haired woman

He brushed the silver haired demon's hair away from his face, and thought "He's just a pup"

"Kid, what did you do?" he said quietly, as concern bloomed in his chest as he looked at the redden gash on the silver haired demon's temple.

Her lips trembled, "I don't know, I just- I got scared I-" she said frantically

He placed his claw on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her, "We've got to get him out here, come on"

She nodded, as he quickly lifted the silver haired demon "Stay close to me, and let's hurry"

She followed closely behind, as he rushed them out of The Row; she whipped her face anxiously as she watched the silver haired demon's head sway as Kovu carried him on his shoulder.

She sighed, and thought "I really know how to make shit worse"

Kimi looked out the window as the night sky blanketed the estate, she sighed as she held a burgundy glass of wine to her lips. She took in a deep breath, and listened as the wind blew against the large house; she always hated whenever Sesshomaru was out on a mission. It made the house incredibly silent, although her pup wasn't much of a talker. His presence was enough to fill the space; she had grown accustomed to being together. She smiled at the thought of her son, he had grown into an incredible warrior, diplomat and man; she was proud of his strength but worried for his heart.

She knew the years had hardened him, as they struggled to carve out a sanctuary for themselves and recover from the uprising and the outcome of Toga's deceit, callousness and abandonment. She chuckled dryly, as she thought of her ex husband and the pain he had caused both her and their son. A tear sprung from her eyes, and rolled down her pale cheek slowly; the dimly lit room added shadow to her small curvy frame.

"My Lady" a voice rang through the room, shaking her from her thoughts.

She turned, and quickly wiped her face before turning to face the raven demon

"What is it, Sotlas?" she said quietly

The raven demon nodded, and said carefully "There has been a raid at the Row my lady" the eerily pale demon walked closer towards the demoness.

Kimi frowned "When was this?" she asked as she reached for her phone, she checked her messages as her frowned deepend. Her son hadn't checked in since leaving this morning.

"This afternoon" he said seldomly

"Has Sesshomaru checked in?" she asked anxiously as her eyes darted towards the door.

"No My Lady, he has not" he said sorrowfully

Kimi's eyes widened as red seeped into her golden eyes, "Get Kirinmaru NOW! Call ZERO!" she roared, as she pushed passed him. Her shrill voice ripped through the house, gaining the attention of the men in the lobby. She pressed the phone against her ear, as she dialed her son, she cursed as it went straight to voicemail; she bit her lip as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Fear seeped into her bones, before she walked out to the foyer and stood on the balcony. Her eyes found the men littered in her living room; she roared "My son is missing! FIND HIM", heads titled and looked up at her before nodding and disappearing into the night. She gripped the railing tightly, as a green light ignited from her claws, and melted the wood effortlessly.

Stolas stood in the doorway watching the Lady of house intensely, he closed his eyes, and sighed.

"My Lady, we will find him"

She looked at him angrily "You trained him! You should be able to track him" she said

He nodded, and moved towards the stairs as he quickly rushed out of the manor.

She banged her hands on the ruined railing, as strength began to dispait; she needed her son to return home.
