"So, what do ya two think of my humble abode?" Asked Kreig as he guided Percy and Nate inside his house.

It was a relatively normal house considering the period and Kreig's position, but quite abnormal for a dragon.

"It is very beautiful. Such... craftsmanship?" Said Percy with a forced smile.

Nate exaggeratedly nodded along silently, not wanting to accidentally say something stupid in front of the dragon.

"Is that friend of yours silent?" Asked Kreig with a smile as he stood within an inch of Nate's face. "I don't believe I've heard him speak once!"

"He has a medical condition." Replied Percy like lightning with an extremely forced smile.

"Ahh, I see. But ya can still drink with that mouth. Let me get us some drinks." Replied Kreig as he left to get drinks.

Deafening silence filled the room as the dragon walked out nonchalantly. It was only until he was out of sight that the two let out sighs of relief.

"We need to get out of here!" Whispered Percy in a panic.

"Yes. Yes, please." Whispered Nate in return.

The two rushed towards the door to escape their impending doom only to find themselves in another predicament.

"He locked it?!" Exclaimed Percy in shock. "Fuck! Where's Vax when you need him?!"

Nate hastily looked through his monsters for anything that could be of use, but found nothing.

"Why do I have so many god damn DnD set mimicks?! Shit-"

"Language!" Replied Percy angrily.

Nate glared at Percy who swore a few moments ago as if looking at a maniac.

"A life or death situation is not an excuse to use foul language!"

"but you just- oh my god! Can you stop treating me like a kid for five straight minutes before we die?!" Whispered Nate angrily.

"Drinks are almost ready!"

Percy and Nate stared at each other afraid of the worst.

"Let's hide. We'll stay away from his sight until the others get here." Said Percy calmly. "Only then will we stand a chance."

Nate nodded in agreement before he and Percy dashed to a different part of the house.

The two soon arrived a room with a painting of a demoness that was not so safe for work.

"Ew, what is wrong with that dragon!" Exclaimed Percy angrily as he blocked the painting with his hands. "And stop staring at it! It's inappropriate!"

"I'm a teenager! It's normal to- wait, Percy, your hand!"

Percy raised a brow at Nate's words before turning to his hand that was inside the painting.

"Where did you two go?!" The two heard angry yelling from outside the room.

The two did not need any other words before they jumped inside the painting and found themselves inside...

Inside the dragon's lair.

"Well, that pretty much confirms Kreig is a dragon." Said Percy with a gulp as he saw the mountains of gold and treasures piled around.

"It's just like a DnD campaign." Remarked Nate staring at the cave in awe as he explored the place.

He noticed an odd looking structure with four orbs poking out from inside. Nate stroked the orb curiously before seeing an eye stare back at him.

He heard a voice come out of the structure and say something about Brymscythe, whatever that was. Nate panicked and summoned the Santa goblin to cover the eye with its sack.

"Out of sight, out of mind."

And with those words, Nate got as far from the structure as possible.

"There could be a backdoor or something we can use to escape." Said Percy looking around. "Look aroun-"

"But why would ya want that?"

The two froze upon hearing those words. They turned around to see Kreig starting on a ledge behind them.

"At first I was curious how your group managed to escape me, so I was willing to let ya live for a while longer. But I guess I have to cut it short."

In front of Nate and Percy, Kreig transformed into a dragon. The same dragon that Vox Machina swore to kill.

Nate immediately pulled our a card from his pocket as he realized what was about to happen.

The monster that came out was...a large floating shield?

"Percy, trust me and hide behind this thing." Said Nate firmly before Percy did as asked with some hesitation.

The dragon didn't pay attention to it and unleashed a breath of lightning upon Nate and Percy...but the attack never broke through the shield.

"It's an unbreakable, immovable, living shield. It will stay stuck where it's put even if a hundred dragons sat on it until the end of time. It will block anything."

"Incredible." Muttered Percy in awe.

Even the dragon looked surprised, it flew up and Nate knew what to do.

"Run!" Exclaimed Nate in a panic.

"But isn't the shield unbreakable?" Asked Percy in confusion. "We can just point it towards-"

"Which part of 'IMMOVABLE' did you not understand?" Asked Nate in a panic

It took Percy a second to process what he just heard before he yelled in anger.

"YOU CAN'T MOVE IT AT ALL?! THAT IS INCREDIBLY DUMB!"

"MY POWERS HAVE LIMITS!"

Before Nate could explain, he and Percy had to hide behind the other side of the shield from another lightning blast coming from behind them.

"I can move it, but I have to unsummon then resummon it to do that and against that thing without the others, if this shield drops at the wrong time, we die!"

The dragon landed in front of the duo ready to slam its claws onto them, but before it could; Nate swiftly unsummoned the shield and resummoned it to block the attack.

"I think we'll die regardless...It's been a good run."

"Yeah." Added Nate dejectedly as the dragon jumped onto the shield and got ready to blast the two from atop.

The duo prepared for their death and closed their eyes...

Only to hear a familiar battle cry.

Percy looked up to see Grog recklessly attacking the dragon.

"Grog, you lovable moron!" Exclaimed Percy happily.

Nate looked up to see the rest of Vox Machina ready to fight.

"Never in my life did I think I'd this be glad to see Scanlan's face." Added Nate tiredly.

Nate and Percy quickly regrouped with the rest of Vox Machina and with that, the fight truly began.

Or maybe not.

Vox Machina was quickly pushed to a corner by the dragon, forced to constantly dodge attacks that would kill them with ease.

"Any plans? I'm willing to hear anyone out." Said Nate in a panic as he stood behind his unbreakable shield.

"Vax, did Gilmore give you any insight on how to kill this thing, or did you two flirt the whole time?" Asked Percy angrily.

"Shit, right right. Dragons are vain, arrogant, egotistical-"

"I know that already! I studied them, remember?" Replied Vex angrily.

"Doesn't matter. We can't do shit if it's in the air." Added Pike as Grog failed to attack the beast due to its flight.

"I can do something about that." Said Nate pulling out a d6. "But only for a short time."

"Where the twin rivers meet. The neck. You see that? Did you hear me?" Vax yelled as he and Vex hid behind some rocks.

"Yes!" Replied Vex as she and Vax ran. "This way, I've got a plan!"

The whole group quickly followed Vex while avoiding any blasts from the beast.

"Aw, another one?!" Commented Scanlan.

"Shut up!" Replied Vex as the whole group had to dodge another blast of lightning. "Look, okay, for once, you were right. Maybe we don't fight as one. Maybe we do what we do best."

"What?! We have no best!" Replied Keyleth in a panic as the whole group hid behind the same boulder.

"So what do you want us to do? Run out and yell, 'Hey, dragon man, we don't know what the fŐ˝ck we're doing'?" Asked Scanlan angrily.

Vex nodded with a smile. Yes, that's what they were meant to do.

And Nate smiled to it before he noticed, as if responding to Vex's nod, his d20 began glowing brightly.

"Ha! You think you can hide in my lair?" Asked the dragon cheerfully before Vox Machina jumped out of hiding.

But this time it was different as the whole group began insulting each other relentlessly.

The dragon replied to one of their comments about killing him before firing a blast at Vox Machina leading to a splash of screams to fill the air.

"Pathetic." Said the dragon before noticing that Vox Machina was unharmed. "What?! Impossible!"

Scanlan cleared his throat. "Gotcha."

"Now!" Ordered Vex.

Out of the two possible two dice that could help in this situation, Nate rolled the glowing d20 because glowing usually meant good things. The dice landed onto the ground with a mystical light.

A Nat 20.

Suddenly, a structure began flowing out of the dice and surrounding the area.

Nate knew the game and we already had a dragon. All we needed was...a dungeon.

The dragon tried to fly out of the dungeon's grasp but Nate didn't allow it.

"Oh no, you don't!" Said Nate before the dungeon blocked any attempts of escape and flung the dragon into the ground. "I could get used to this."

Debris fell onto the ground as Nate desperately used all his will to keep the dungeon sealed as it was being destroyed by the thrashing dragon.

Percy saw the dragon distracted and fired a bullet into its eye, reducing its vision.

The dragon roared before Keyleth tied its mouth shut using vines.

Before the dragon could break out of the vines, a trap activated that dropped the dragon's foot into a pit of spikes that didn't serve more than to throw the beast off balance.

And then Vex, assisted by Scanlan, arrived at the dragon avoiding the dungeon debris. He slashed the dragon's neck to reveal an organ inside.

"Light 'em up, Vex." Said Pike enchanting Vex's arrow with holy power.

And in response, Vex fired the holy arrow with a smile. The arrow hit the exposed organ dead on causing the dragon to thrash around.

It couldn't even yell or speak as Keyleth kept its mouth shut.

"Look who's nice and low." Vex told Grog calmly with a smile on her face.

Grog smiled as his muscles enlarged. "I would like. To. RAGE!"

The Goliath barbarian dashed towards the dragon before slamming his axe upon its head.

Slaying the beast.

Nate immediately fell face first onto the ground the moment the adrenaline wore off.

"Nate!" Exclaimed Percy worriedly.

"I'm sleeeeping. If any one of you needs me, don't."

And with that, the teen passed out.
