"ugh, where am I?" Asked Nate as he woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling.

He looked around him to see what looked to be the inside of a mansion.

"Did we get a mansion for killing the dragon?" Nate asked curiously before taking a stroll through the mansion.

As he walked through the wide halls of the mansion, Nate heard the sound of children's laughter.

Finding it weird that there are children in this place, he followed the sound to its source to find...a family?

"Uhh, miss-ma'am?" Nate said but to no reply. "This is so awkward. Uhm, people?"

No reply again.

Mustering up the courage to commit social interaction with random high class strangers who could judge him, Nate took a deep breath and approached the mother of the family.

"Uh, hi. I woke up in your house and-" said Nate as he tried tapping the woman's shoulder only for his finger to go through it. "Oh...OH...OH NO."

Nate waved his arm through the woman's skull as he came up with two theories. Either he became a ghost, or these people are ghosts. Both as equally terrifying.

"No dice time stop. But I've seen enough horror movies to know when to leave." He said as he began leaving the room.

But before exiting, he noticed a boy who looked awfully familiar. So familiar he stopped in his tracks. If only he could just put his finger onto who this was.

Without warning, the scene suddenly changed into that of a bloody nightmare.

The father of the family was stabbed in the back and the mother was stabbed in the neck.

The castle then disappeared as the scene of a beat up boy and girl running away took its place.

The boy and what looked to be his sister were running away from something.

The boy looked different this time. He looked like he was tortured or something and this time he was more recognizable due to his hair turning white.

"Percy?"

As Nate pieced together the identity of the boy, his sister was shot with an arrow to the back presumably killing her.

Nate felt the urge to vomit as he witnessed the gory scene. He closed his eyes and tried to not see any further.

Suddenly, he felt a cold liquid splash onto his face. He froze. Was it blood?

He opened his eyes to see...Scanlan and Grog and his body was drenched in water.

"He has more than one bath robe, right?" Asked Scanlan curiously and Grog just shrugged.

"It was a dream?" Nate muttered as he thought about what he saw. "Wait, SCANLAN! THESE ARE THE ONLY CLOTHES I HAVE!"

"You were spewing blood like a fountain! What was I supposed to do other than wake you up?!" Replied Scanlan in a panic.

"What blood?" Asked Nate in confusion.

Grog replied to question by pointing at the blood soaked floor of Nate's room.

"Uhh." Nate didn't know how to reply. "That's concerning."

"More like, creepy as fuck! What the hell was that?!" Asked Scanlan angrily.

Nate looked all around him to see that it was night time. He then noticed Percy passing by the room.

"Percy!" Nate said getting the artificer's attention. "What were you dreaming about? Just curious. And does it possibly have any traumatic memories filled with blood?"

"What? Uhh...eh, uhm. I can't remember." Said Percy in a not very convincing tone. "I need to go."

Scanlan turned to Nate with a horrified expression. "Don't tell me that that blood is from Percy's dreams."

"I think so." Replied Nate in shock.

As Scanlan pondered the horrifying implications of this power had for him and his dreams, Grog was excited by the prospect.

"You can go into dreams? Go into mine, now." Asked Grog excitedly.

"Grog, that's not how dreams work." Said Nate tiredly. "Also, I don't know how to do it."

Grog narrowed his eyes at Nate as a certain thought entered his head.

A few seconds later, everyone in the building heard one bizarre sentence.

"GROG, STOP! YOU CAN'T SHOVE ME INSIDE YOUR SKULL! THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS, YOU IDIOT!"

"Good morning, everybody!" Exclaimed Keyleth cheerfully as she entered the kitchen of their new house where the rest of Vox Machina was. "Morning, Vax."

"Morning..." Replied Vax with a piece of bread in his mouth as he headed towards the table.

Before Vax could sit at the table, Grog hit him where the sun doesn't shine.

"7 to 2." Declared Grog confidently.

"I never agreed to this game." Replied Vax in anguish.

"I feel you, Vax." Added Nate tiredly. "Once I get used to living here, I'll make something that can increase Grog's smarts."

Nate heard something about restraint coming from Percy but he payed it no mind as he continued to sleepily eat.

Sadly, a knock on their door interrupted the joint breakfast of Vox Machina.

Even more sadly, they locked the door on themselves.

"It's locked?" Asked Percy in confusion.

"How did this even happen?" Asked Vax still feeling the pain of Grog's hit.

"At least we know the place will be safe if we ever go on a trip. I can only imagine how tightly locked the front door must be." Said Nate in admiration and surprise.

Silence descended upon the room as no one was willing to tell Nate the truth.

"You DID lock the front door, right?" Asked Nate hoping to hear something good.

No one replied. They all looked at each other hoping the other would say anything.

"YOU LOCKED THE KITCHEN BUT NOT THE FRONT DOOR?!"

"Hold on! I got it!" Said Grog changing the subject before using his strength to launch the door into a wall outside the kitchen.

And outside the kitchen was the one who was knocking on the door.

It was Lady Allura and she was not phased one bit what had just happened.

"Lady Allura! Hope you didn't feel the need to bring a house warming present." Said Vax with a short bow.

"I did not." Allura replied solemnly. "Alas, I must remind you that sovereign Uriel expects you at his dinner."

"Seriously, I wake up from a coma only to have to go to a fancy dinner." Muttered Nate as he ignored Percy's ecstatic talk about such an event.

"It's more than a party." Said Allura stoically. "Dignitary from across the realm are here to form a new security pact. We must put our best foot forward."

Ignoring his teammates' weird actions that followed, Nate thought about the party. The king himself invited them and that meant there's no choice but to go and that meant wearing a suit.

Nate pulled out his d20 and rolled it before getting an 11. This roll spawned fancy suit and pants from the dice which were mimics.

"Are those mimics?" Asked Vex raising a brow and Nate nodded. "I don't think this is a good idea."

Nate shrugged before he hurriedly put them on and inspected them... before they grew teeth and started trying to eat him.

"OH SHOOT! THEY'RE CARNIVORES! OW! OW! OW! IT HURTS!"

Between Nate getting devoured by a tuxedo with teeth and Vax slamming his fist into Grog's crotch for a game of ball tag, Allura had already lost any hope of Vox Machina acting even remotely dignified.
