Marinette doesn't know why she finds herself at the base of Cats statue everyday eating a sandwich and trying to catch up on homework. But here she is. The night before, she had found herself as Ladybug standing before the statue with a bouquet of roses. It seemed fitting. As he was always giving them to her. It was past Midnight; she hoped she was alone and pay her respects in peace. Her absence is starting to be noticed more and more. About 50% of the city figured she's off mourning her partner. The other 50% think she's dead. Secretly, she hoped she wasn't completely alone. No one seemed to believe the Ladyblog that she's alive and just mourning.
**Night before…**
"Oh My Kitty. Whatever will I do without you?" She sniffs, as the tears that refuse to stop pour down her face. The statue really is quite the work of art. It's perfect. But it's him. She wants him, she needs him. Taking his hand, she climbs into his stone lap and lays her head against his cold chest. As she closes her eyes and imagined his arms around her. She holds the roses in her arms and breathes in their scent. They'll forever remind her of her Kitty.
She pulls out a perfume bottle and sprays the roses with it and some of the statue. Leaning back against she smiled at the mixing of the roses and perfume smell. Part of her wished this pain would never go away, but then again. The other half wished for it to go, so she could finally breathe.
The next morning, pictures of her at the statue flooded the web. She didn't mind; it made the city sigh with relief. That was indeed still alive.
Marinette had no intentions of showing up as Ladybug again anytime soon. She hates Ladybug. She ruined her life. Though she'll have to make an appearance at Cats funeral. She can't miss it. Adrien's funeral will be the hardest. Oh, how she wishes. They'd told everyone they were dating. Oh, will Cats be the hardest? Everyone knows Marinette loved Adrien, but no one knows about her and Cat. Or did they?
The roses she had laid the night before were still there. Someone had covered them with a small umbrella. The irony of an umbrella is not lost on her, and she lets out a small giggle. 'Oh, how was she to live the next 50-60 years of her life without him?'
Sitting down, with her back to the statue. She pulls out the sandwich her Maman had made her and nibbles on it slowly. Food still made her nauseous, but she also felt hungry. Not hungry enough to eat a lot, just enough to eat a sandwich.
She had asked Ayla to bring her work from school, although she was angry when Marinette still refused to see her. Of all the people, you'd think her best friend who knew she was dating Cat, would understand her pain. But, apparently. When you're in pain, the only thing people want you to do. Is get over it, because it makes them feel uncomfortable.
"People suuuuuuck!" Plagg grunts as he shoves some cheddar in his mouth. He hasn't touched a slice on Camembert since Cat...
Marinette looks over at Plagg, and smiles slightly. She could hear Ayla yelling at her Maman, the night before, to let her up there, saying her best friend needs her. Getting angrier, but Maman says it was her best friend who said no. She expected an angry text or phone call, but none came. She didn't know what hurt more, that she's obeying her wishes. Or that she didn't try harder to see her. Marinette wouldn't stop until she saw Ayla.
Her parents said she could stay off school until next school year. So long as she does her school work and doesn't fail. Marinette thought that was reasonable, so she agreed. The schoolwork was great actually, it gave her something to focus on other than her grief.
People still don't understand her pain, and I guess they never will. It's hard to understand the pain of someone who has lost something that can never be replaced. It's her heart, she lost her heart in that cavern, and she'll never get it back.
So many secrets, so many secrets. The amount of secrets she has to keep were almost siffling her. Pulling a chain out from under her shirt, she played with the expensive and beautiful engagement ring. Just another secret, although there were witnesses. They'll understand. No, only Widows get sympathy, fiancées get... ignored. Closing her eyes, she leans back against the statue and tries to stop the memories from bubbling up. It's no use.
**Halloween, 2020.**
"Meow My Lady, you look amazing as ever tonight." Adrien wraps his arms around her waist, before kissing her neck.
It was Halloween, and they were at a party at Nino's place. She'd been standing on a balcony on one of the many bedrooms, enjoying the stars. Of course, her Kitty would find her. He always does. They had decided to be daring, and dressed up in Cat Noir and Ladybug suits. Not the real ones of course, just costumes. He looks just as amazing in the costume as he does his suit.
"Have I mentioned, how amazing you look in that suit? Your ass is incredible." She giggles, she turns around to face him. Giving his ass a nice squeeze.
"My Lady. Are you trying to seduce me? Because, if you are. It's working." He smiles, as his kisses, turn into nibbles. Causing her to let out little squeaks.
"Well, I wasn't particularly. But, if you want seducing. I can make that happen." She giggles, as she gives both of his ass cheeks a squeeze.
A small growl escapes from his lips, as he spins her around and lifts her up onto the table. Before, laying his forehead against hers and sighing happily.
"I can't believe, I'm so lucky. That I get to spend the rest of my life listening to you seduce me and grabbing my ass." He chuckles, as she gives it another squeeze.
"It's such a lovely ass. I can't help it. I can't believe it either. How did we get so lucky?" She giggles, as she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him.
"There's something, I've been meaning to ask you. Marinette, My Lady, The Love of My Life!" Smiling he pulls her to her feet. Before lowering himself down on one knee and slowly pulling out a red, square box. He looked up into her eyes, her shocked, tear filled eyes.
"I have known since the I met you, that you were going to be important in my life. I just didn't know how important. And then when Ladybug, fell from the sky and tangled me up in her yo-yo. What she really did, was tangle me up in her heart. My heart has been yours since the day you smiled at me. Whether it be as Marinette or as Ladybug. My heart will forever and always be yours. So, Marinette, My Lady, Bugaboo, the Love of My Life. Will… you marry me?" Opening the box, to reveal inside. A beautiful gold ring, with a diamond in the centre. The most amazing part, is the black cat and ladybug holding onto the diamond.
"Oh... My... Kitty..." She looked from the ring to his face, and back again.
"I haven't asked your father's permission yet. I know how you don't like people deciding things for you. So, I thought. I'll ask first then we can tell them. After all, we don't need permission to be in love do we?" He smiles as he holds up the ring to her. Silently reminding her, she hasn't said anything yet.
"Oh right. Yes, Yes, Yes, of course I'll marry you My Kitty!" She practically screams into his face, as she falls to her knees and wraps her arms around his neck. Tears streaming down both of their faces.
"You will, you will? Are you sure?" He asks, his voice laden with fear all of a sudden. Causing her to giggle.
"Kitty!" She smiles, as she brushes her lips across his. "I love you too, and I want to marry you and make beautiful babies with you."
Lowering his knee, so he was kneeling on both. He takes her into his arms and kisses her with such passion, that he didn't even know he had.
"Kitty, that was. Wow!" Marinette giggles into his mouth. As he starts kissing her all over.
"Kitty, did you ask me to marry you. So you could seduce me or something?" She loves teasing him, not that he needs to propose to get her in to bed. There's nothing she'd love more, then to lose her virginity to him. Him, and no one else, ever.
"No, of course not. But, it helps, right?" He winks at her, causing her to burst out laughing. He really is her Kitty.
She slowly stands up, careful not to step on her dress. Before moving back into the bedroom. "You know, I think my zippers stuck. And I'd love to go the bathroom." She turns and looks at him, smiling slyly.
"Why do you need to take your dress off to go the bathroom?" He asks, totally missing the obvious hints in front of him.
"This is why it took us 2 years to get together. I'm asking you to come here and takes of my dress. So, I can seduce you into bed. Is it clear enough?" She asks, with an added eye roll, placing her hands on her hips.
"Oh… Oh!" He lets out a what he hopes sounds like a sexy growl. As he rushes over to his love. To help her undress, so he could make sweet, sweet love to her. Ok, maybe not too sweet.
Giggling they land on the bed, in a tangle of naked bodies, and mixed up limbs. They couldn't be sexy and romantic even if it killed them.
"Let's try that again." He laughs, as he climbs on top of her and kisses her passionately.
"Yes, please." She moans, riding herself of the rest of her clothes.
**A few hours later.**
Marinette lay in Adrien's arms, all sweaty, sticky and hot. But, completely content and fulfilled. Who knew love could make you feel so whole. Or sex could make you feel so loved and wanted. She couldn't wait to make love to him every night, until she died.
"I love you Kitty…" Kissing him, before pulling the covers up to cover their naked bodies. She snuggles in and falls asleep.
**Back in the present.**
Marinette tosses her sandwich for the pigeons to ear, and pulls her knees to her chest, before placing her head on them. If only she'd known he would be dead in a month. She'd have spent every night like that with him. She'd have told the whole world, that they were in love, and engaged. Instead, they kept it a secret, like they were embarrassed and ashamed. And now she had to suffer alone and in silence.
