(Excuse the mess. I'm so sick from my daughter's cold, I barely finished it. No energy to edit...)
She wakes up in bed the next day, not knowing how long she has been out or how she got home. Climbing out of bed, she walks to her door, pausing when she hears her parents voices talking to someone.
"Your daughter caused major damage to Lila. She may need surgery on her broken nose and fractured eye socket. She is a danger to those around her, she needs dealt with. She could have killed her." The voice being Lila's mother.
Yanking open the trapdoor, Marinette storms into the kitchen. "Well, your bitch of a daughter was spreading lies, as usual! The only person here who needs help, is Lila! She's a psychopath with a compulsive lying disorder! Barging into Adrien's funeral dressed all in black, sobbing that she was engaged to Adrien?! Adrien!? That bitch has never even been on a date with him, yet suddenly they're engaged?! No, no, just no! Adrien is mine, you hear me, mine!"
Blinking, she looks at the three people, all staring at her terrified. Not like she hit anyone or is going too.
"I told you, she's demented!" Lila's mother snaps, as she looks Marinette in the eye.
Knowing this isn't going to be worth it, and will get her into huge trouble. She doesn't care, what more can they do to her? Her life is over, sneering at the woman. Marinette punches her square in her ugly nose, she's pretty sure she used some foul language as well. Well, she wanted demented, she got it.
Storming off, she slams her trapdoor shut and climbs onto her balcony. She can't stop the trail of tears, flowing down her face. It's just not fair, why are people treating her this way?! She's in mourning, she's lost everything, even her will to live. Yet, all people seem to do, is beat her down even more.
"Grief makes people uncomfortable. That's why they treat you like shit, because they're angry at you for making them uncomfortable." Climbing onto the railing, she sits down and swings her legs. Looking down at Adrien's statue, as if reaching up for her, telling her to join him, come to him.
"I want to Kitty, I do, I want it so badly it hurts! Why are people pushing me? Do they want me to die? Do they want me to kill myself? Because, I'll do it! I have no reason to live, no reason!" Sighing, she wipes her eyes and sniffs. She has no reason to live, but she has duties to carry out. She's not ready yet to leave this world, she has plans and goals. She needs to make sure no one forgets Adrien, or what he did. She needs to find peace, and some form of happiness first. If she meets Adrien in the afterlife, and he asks her if she was happy or lived her life. He'll be angry if she says no.
Sighing, she turns around to get off the railing. Freezing she sees her parents standing behind her, a look of terror on their face. A loose tile comes loose under Marinette's foot, causing her to loose her balance. To her parents it looks like she's letting go, to die.
Rushing forward her Papa, grabs her roughly by the arms and drags her over the railing, before dumping her on the balcony roof, angrily.
"Ow, Papa, what the…" Looking up at them, her Papa angry, and her Maman broken, she frowns. "Wait, you thought I was trying to jump?" She snaps, as she stands up, her ankle twinging from slipping on the tile.
"Marinette, we can't do this anymore. This is too much for us, we just can't!" Maman says, as her eyes fill with tears.
"Oh right, because I totally forgot that this is all about you, and not me. How stupid of me! You're the one who watched the love of your life get murdered, you're the one who has to live with that shame forever, you're the one who wants nothing more then to die right now, but know you can't as you promised to live. You're the one who's heart is shattered into so many pieces, you don't think it will ever reform. What? No, that's not all you? Then shut up! You don't get to decide what is enough and what isn't. This is my pain, not yours! Get over yourselves. I wish I'd never come home!" Marinette finishes screaming at her Maman, the look on her face is pure terror. Good, she needs to be scared. Marinette is sick of her shit, both of their shit.
"That's it, I'm done! We're sending you away to a hospital to fix your head. Section 4, says we can admit you without your consent and leave you there for up to 6 months!" Maman yells back at her.
"What?! A psych hospital?! I'm not crazy, I'm sad! I'm so sorry that my being sad is ruining your life bitch!" Marinette screams, her Papa off to the side, frozen in fear.
Maman's eyes flash red, as she slaps Marinette across the face, with a loud smack. Papa steps in and separates the two, when Marinette raises her hand to retaliate.
"Marinette, I'm sorry your mother hit you, but hitting her won't help. And we only want to send you away to protect you from Lila and her mother. They are out for blood, it's the hospital or jail. Please?" Papa looks down at her.
Marinette looks up at him, and sees in his eyes that he's telling the truth. Like she said, hitting Lila's mother was a bad idea, but boy did it feel good.
Marinette looks back at her Maman, and shoves her aside to get into her room. Before climbing down, she looks at her Maman. "I hate you! And when I'm 18, I'm leaving and never coming back! You're the worst mother on Earth!"
Jumping down into her room, she gathers the Kwarmi's up. "Ok my babies, it's time for you to go to your new homes."
"New homes?" Nooro asks, confused.
"Yes, each of you pick up your Miraculous and go find your holder. They are your guardian now." She sniffs, she knows this is right. But, it still hurts.
One by one the Kwarmi's gather their Miraculous and hugs her, some crying, before disappearing.
"What about us?" Plagg asks, Marinette sighs.
She doesn't want to leave Plagg, but keeping him and Tikki in the hospital is too dangerous.
"We're going to see someone about that." Placing the three Kwarmi's in her bag with their Miraculous. She leaves the room, as her parents come down. Sabine looking heartbroken and sad, and her Papa angry. But, angry with Sabine, not Marinette. She doesn't know what's gotten into her mother, she's normally so supportive and loving. But, even as a small child, Marinette remembers her mother getting angry whenever Mari was upset or hurt. She just hated it all, her PaPa, said it was a family thing. That her parents were that way with her. That's why Marinette buries her feelings and hides them until they explode from her. So much for the perfect parents!
Looking around Chloe's office, she's shocked at even the thought of giving them to her. But, to be honest, she has been the only person who has supported her and been kind to her. She'd never trust Ayla with the Miraculous after what she did at the party.
"Marinette, hi! How are you? Do you need a good lawyer? I can give you mine. We can fight this, it's easy!" Chloe storms over and engulfs Marinette in a bear hug. Actually causing her to giggle.
"No, no, I'm not fighting her. I'm going to stay in a hospital for a few months. I need to get away from here, from here. But, I need a favour of you Chloe." She pulls away and opens her bag.
"Anything, except murder. I'll hire someone for that." She smiles, then gasps when she sees the Miraculous.
"I can't take them with me. And I can't leave them at home alone. Normally, I'd give them to Ayla, but after the party. She's on my shit list! You're the only one who has been kind and supportive to me. So, I want you to look after them for me. And no joyrides." Mari giggles at the image of Chloe swinging around Paris as Ladybug. "Ok, maybe one or two, but no talking to the press."
"Me?!" Chloe gasps, as she takes the Miraculous and sniffs as they appear around her. "Are you sure? What about Su-Han?"
"Nah, the monks treat the Kwarmi's like objects, not living creatures. They need love, attention and most of all, a friend." She hugs Plagg, who purrs.
"I… I… can do that."" She hugs Plagg also, who hugs her back, purring.
"You were Adrien's best friend throughout his childhood. He loved you very much." Plagg purrs.
"Really?" She says, as she starts sobbing.
Marinette blinks, before hugging her tightly.
They both stand there crying for several minutes, before Marinette pulls away.
"I should go, I need to pack. What does one take to a hospital?" She laughs and sighs.
"I have my Maman, she's been such a bitch to me. Always has been whenever I'm angry or upset. That's why I hide my emotions like I do. Will you take care of everything for me, while I'm gone? Check up on the other Kwarmi's with their holders? And adopt them, if needed?" Marinette sighs, as she picks up her bag.
"You bet I will. You'll have money if your account every month so you can buy things you need." Chloe smiles, as the Kwarmi's zoom off to explore.
"Don't give my parents a Euro! They don't deserve it!" She snaps, thinking about her Maman. Only a few more months until she turns 18, then she can swan off and never be seen again.
As much as she hates the idea of leaving Paris, she knows deep down that she will never truly heal if she stays.
"Wouldn't dream of it. You're 17 and a half, not 7. They have no rights to you." Chloe smiles at her.
"Who knew, my biggest ally, would be my childhood bully." They both start laughing before hugging.
"I'm sorry about that, and everything else." She whispers, before Marinette walks out, waving.
"Goodbye my babies, see you soon." She sighs, before heading home.
A few more months, then she's 18 and doesn't have to obey anyone! And boy, will there be hell to pay!
