Erin's POV; it's been a month and a half since all the kids had a bad cold. Ever since then they have been hundred percent better, it's also been a little over a month since Haley and Adam had their baby boy Ashton he is pretty cute they have just visited the districts a couple times since he's been born. Right now ember is almost 8 months old and Porter and Camryn are growing each and every day. Today is one of the few days we have off so we are relaxing v with the kids at home

E= so kids guess who's birthday is coming up
PJ= who's mommy
CN= yeah who
E= it's daddy's birthday
PJ= wow it is
CN= that's cool
E= so is there anything you want for your birthday this year
J= not really
E= are you sure you don't need anything
J= I am sure all I need is you in my amazing tits
E= oh how sweet of you

PJ= mommy can we have cake for daddy's birthday
CN= yeah mommy cake
J= of course we can have cake
E= I wonder if the guys at work have some kind of surprise planned for you at Molly's
J= they probably do now on to you do you have any surprises for me

J= all right I believe you I still love my birthday present that you got me a couple years ago

J= oh I did I bought him a few drinks at Molly's a couple years back

E= I know I don't but you do so much for me and the kids let me do something for you for once

The rest of the day we just hang out as a family while watching TV and or play board games, while I also think of things I can do for Jay by the end of the night I figure something out, but I first have to run it by somebody else. At work The next day while everyone was out talking to their CI me and Hank were the only ones at the district so I want to talk to him about something

E=( knocking) hey Hank got a second
HV= yeah anything for you kid what's up
E= so Jay's birthday is in a couple days and I've been trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday but he said he doesn't want anything besides me and the kids
HV= smart man
E= anyways last night I figured out what I can do for him for his birthday but I have to run something by you
HV= okay what is it
E= can me and Jay have a couple days off so that I can take him and the kids to his grandfathers cabin in Wisconsin
HV= umm can I think about it
E= you sure can
HV= all right I'll get back to you at the end of the day

I leave his office and get back to work a few hours later we get the key solved all of us get working on the paperwork about 45 minutes later I get my prep work done so I go and handed in the Hank

HV= why thank you showing everyone up on how fast you get this done
E= not really I just been keeping up with it throughout the day
HV= that's very smart of you today
E= why thank you ( looks back at jay) so have you thought about what I asked you earlier
HV= yes I have
E= okay so what's your answer
HV= I will give you guys for days off starting on Thursday
E= that's great thanks Hank
HV= it's no problem I'll do anything for you
E= okay can I ask one more favor from you please
HV= shirkey in what's up
E= can you maybe watch the kids Wednesday night so that me and Jay can go to Molly's for his surprise birthday party that the boys are throwing him
HV= I guess I can I love spending time with my grandchildren
E= that's great to hear see you tomorrow
HV= all right see you

I go and check on Jay to see how close he was to being done with his paperwork he was close so I went and grabbed our things so we can head home as soon as possible about 15 minutes later we leave, we enjoy our night with the kids the next couple days at work was pretty quiet didn't have a huge case to Saul Wednesday night came and Hank followed us home to get the kids

E= thanks again Hank for watching the kids for us
HV= of course I don't mind hanging out with my grandkids say bye-bye to mommy and daddy
CN= bye bye mommy
PJ= bye daddy
J= bye guys be good for grandpa Hank
HV= they always are bye ( they leave)
E= well I guess it's me and you now how about we get ready and head to Molly's to enjoy are alone time
J= Erin Nicole halstead I know you're up to something
E= no I am not I just want you all to myself tonight is that a problem or not
J= not at all just seems like you have something planned
E= no I don't I promise
J= all right I guess I believe you so let's go out to Molly's
E= great let's go

We get changed and head out to Molly's

J= wait why isn't there many cars here normally Molly's is pretty busy
E= Who knows let's go see how busy is it ( inside the bar)
All= happy birthday
J= wait what
WH= happy birthday brother
J= thanks well how did I know this would happen
AD= I guess you know us pretty well then
J= I guess I do ( looks at Erin) and you knew totally about what was going on
E= maybe I did
J= come here ( hugs her) you are the best wife ever ( kiss her)
E= yeah I know that
H= oh I sent this jay's birthday him and Erin get ( starts to chock) free drinks all night
AR= wait that's not fair
HU= yes it is now shut up and go get me a drink
AR= yes ma'am

We spend a couple hours just hanging out at Molly's drinking and having a good time when me and Jay leave we head home and have a couple rounds of Scrabble before we pass out. The next morning I wake up before Jay get mine, The kids and Jay stuff packed up and put in the car, once I'm done with that I make us some breakfast before we leave about 10 minutes later the food was done and I felt two huge hands wrapped around me from behind.

J= good morning beautiful
E= well good morning to my birthday boy how did you sleep
J= I slept amazing next to the best wife on the planet
E= oh really
J= yes really now when did Hank say he would bring the kids back
E= he said around 11
J= well that's good
E= that gives us plenty of Time to eat our breakfast in peace
J= oh yeah what did you make
E= some hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy
J= oh my favorite
E= I know well it's done
J= all right let's eat

We eat our breakfast while making small talk we get done eating within 20 minutes and then we sit on the couch just relaxing

E= I love sitting here with you but I got to get up and get the dishes done
J= first off you cook so I'll clean up the dishes it's only fair
E= oh no because today is your birthday you shouldn't have to do anything
J= okay makes sense and second off I said since the kids aren't here why don't we use that to our advantage and maybe Play more scrabble
E= that's a good idea let's played in the shower first
J= now are you saying i stink
E= not at all ( laughs) okay maybe
J= all right then your getting it

he Tickles me and then he picks me up and we had towards the shower. We have a very long steamy shower together after the shower I get myself dressed first and then while jay gets dress I hurry up and do the dishes.

E= so what do you want to do today Mr. birthday boy
J= I don't care but don't we have to work today
E= I asked Hank if we could have a day off since it's your birthday and he agreed to it
J= well that's nice of him
E= oh yeah ( knocking) that must be Hank and the kids are you dressed.
J= haha very funny and yes I'm dressed
E= that's good ( opens the door) hey kids
HK= mommy ( hugs her)
E= oh I missed you guys so much
CN= I miss you too
J= there's my kids
PJ= daddy I miss you ( runs and hugs Jay)
J= hey buddy were you and Camryn good for grandpa Hank last night
HV= yes they were angles like always
E= well that's good to hear
HV= by the way happy birthday jay
J= why thank you Hank
HV= your welcome see you guys
E= bye hank ( ember is passed to Erin and hank leaves )
J= all right let's get your coats and shoes off
E= actually leave them on
J= wait why is that
E= well I planned a little road trip for us today for your birthday
J= okay so where is this road trip going to take us
E= I can't tell you that just grab the kids and load them up into the car I'll be out in a minute
J= all right so I can't ask if I could drive to the location right
E= yep you don't get to drive this time
J= come on it's my birthday
E= nope you got to ride in the passenger seat my house husband
J= fine but your so mean to me
E= oh well get over it
J= I guess so (( he gets the kids and head off to the car)

I go and grab my little present I got the other day for jay and lock up the house, then I jump i or the car so we can head off to the cabin and jay still has no clue what we are doing or going

Jay's POV;it's been about two months since the kids had their sickness and sine them they have Been sick they are 100% better, they are back to their normal happy self. Ember is now eight months old and right now she is close to crawling which is so crazy she is growing up way too fast yesterday Erin and the team throw me a surprise party at Molly's for my birthday which I kind of knew about since this is what the guys do all the time lucky last night after Molly's we didn't have any kids because Hank agreed to watch them so me and Erin played a few rounds of scrabble then fell asleep, today Hank was drop off the kids and I learned that Erin planed a little road trip for us but won't tell me where we are going. It's been about two hours since we left the house

E= looks like the kids are asleep back there
J= yeah maybe they had a little party at Hank's house that we don't know about
E= yeah who knows
J= so are you ever going to tell me where we are going
E= nope just wait and see
J= come on Erin just tell me
E= nope not happening
J= fine can you tell me if we are close or how much longer until we get there
E= we are about an hour to an hour and a half away from the destination
J= all right that's good to know

We keeping driving as I keeping looking to see if I can see anything familiar about an hour later

E= all right so we are getting closer
J= thank god I just want to know where we are
E= so since we are almost there can you please put on this blindfolded
J= wait why would I do that
E= well because I said so and if you don't you won't get to play any scrabble tonight after the kids go to bed
J= oh man you don't play a fair game
E= I know
J= all right hand me the blindfolded ( she does and he puts it on)
E= can you see anything
J= no I can't
E= that's good we are here
J= can I take it off now
E= nope you got to wait till I get you out of this car and say so
J= come on Erin
E= ( gets him out of the car ) all right before you take it just remember I decide to do this for us
J= all right can I take it off now
E= yes you can ( he takes it off) so what do you think
J= of course you take me to the cabin why didn't I guess this would happen
E= I don't know but are you happy
J= of course I am come here ( she does ) I love you so much ( kiss her )

J= it's kind of sad we only will be here for a couple hours I wish we could stay longer
E= what if I told you we could stay for more than a couple hours
J= okay well please explain then
E= okay so I kind of lied about Hank letting us have the day off
J= oh you did
E= so the other day at work while you guys were talking to your CI I went and asked Hank for a favor
J= you did what is it
E= well I asked him if me and you could have some time off
J= and he said yes
E= well not at first but he eventually did
J= okay so how long is he let us have off of work
E= he only allowed us four days we have to be back at work on Monday
J= well that works for me
E= so you're not mad at me for lying to you
J= not at all I love this
E= that's good let's get the bags and the kids inside
J= all right let's go

The kids wake up from their nap they had in the car and we get everything inside within 15 minutes

E= you know what I just realize
J= what did you realize babe
E= that miss ember hasn't been to the cabin ever
J= no she hasn't hey kids so guess what
PJ= what daddy
CN= yeah
E= it's ember first time here
J= so let's show her how much fun we have here and also how much we love this place
CN= okay daddy
PJ= all right daddy

We hang out for a while then Erin cooks my favorite meal which is steak and pasta we all decide to eat on the floor tonight we finish dinner within 20 minutes

J= oh god that was so good thank you Erin for cooking
E= you're very welcome babe let me go put the dishes in the sink
J= all right
PJ= daddy can we go play
J= of course you can buddy
PJ= all right let's go Camryn ( they leave )
J= sooner than later ember Will be playing with Porter and Camryn
E= hopefully not too soon
E= better listen to your daddy
EG= dada
J= wait did she just
E= I think she did say it again baby girl say dada
EG= dada
J= oh my god this is amazing I think that's my favorite birthday present ever
E= I could see why, she said her first word and it was dada

We just play around with ember for a few minutes

J= I really love his birthday this year so far one of my favorites so thank you for all this
E= you're very welcome maybe later I can give you my two presents I have ( winks)

E= once these kids are asleep I might show you
J= ( looks for ember ) wasn't ember just right here
E= yes she was just knee girl where are you
( we start looking for her ) hey jay I found her

E= ( points to where she is ) looks like she wanted to play with Camryn and Porter already
J= yes she did also she is crawling
E= oh yeah I guess once we get home we will have to baby proof the house again
J= I can't wait so looks like she wanted to do to milestones that wants to keep us on our toes
E= I guess she does let's go play with these kids
J= all right

We can play the kids for a while then we decide it's time for the kids to get a bath so I can give the kids a bath while Erin does the dishes about 45 minutes all the kids were in bed asleep

E= so were the kids easy to be put down tonight
J= they weren't too bad ember kept saying dada as I was putting her to sleep
E= oh how sweet she loves her daddy
J= well her daddy loves her mommy very much especially since she gave me her and The three best gifts in the world my kids. Also she playing this little getaway to our favorite spot
E= well you're very welcome ( they kiss)
J= so these two other presents you talked about earlier
E= yeah what about them
J= can I maybe have them now I've been super patient all day
E= yes you have been very patient follow me ( he does)
J= okay now what
E= Close your eyes until I tell you to open them
J= all right ( he does)
E= ( takes off his clothes to show off her fancy underwear ) all right you can open your eyes ( he does) so what do you think
J= I love this
E= oh you do
J= of course I do but I like it better if it was on the ground
E= oh you would ( he passionately kissing her)

We go for a round or two of scrabble

J= that was amazing
E= couldn't agree more
J= so what is my other present that you mentioned
E= well I hope you like it but you have to close your eyes again
J= all right I guess so ( he does)
E= ( pull something out of the nightstand) all right you can open your eyes now
J= ( he does) wow a box
E= it is but open it
J= all right ( he does) wow that's a very cool watch why thank you babe ( kiss her)
E= you're very welcome but look on the backside of the watch
J= ( he does) it's the kids initials
E= and their birthdays
J= that's very sweet of you wait why is porters P.J.H and not P.J.S
E= well I think we had him long enough we think of him as ours more than anything so I put H as his last name. And besides even if someone comes along and wants to adopt him he will always be ours and a halstead to me no matter what
J= couldn't agree more I wonder how long we have to wait until we can officially adopt him
E= I don't know we had him for a year so maybe pretty soon
J= yeah we will see
E= oh yeah

J= when can we try for a boy
E= well for one I don't know if I want another little one just yet I love our little family we have now

E= I love my girls believe me but I would have 12 mini jays if I could

E= ( laughs) not at all but one or two would be perfect

We go about two more rounds of scrabble then we finally fall asleep. The next few days was pretty great being at the cabin with my kids and wife one of my favorite birthdays I've had in a while
