Erin's POV; it's been a pretty great week for the halstead family, The first thing that happened was that Natalie will told us that they are having another baby. Which sparked me to think about how I have been feeling the last month and a half so I decided to take a pregnancy test and it came back positive. When I told Jay we were pregnant again it was already in ventral day because we officially adopted Porter that day and it was his birthday. It has been a couple days since Porter's birthday and adoption day, ever since then my morning sickness has come on full force. It's more like every day now. Me and jay decided not to tell anyone the news until after our first doctors appointment. Which happens to be today, we got an early appointment so that we aren't super late into work. Right now we are heading to the doctors office when we get there I sign in they call me back within five minutes the nurse takes my vitals and also draws my blood then she leaves and we wait on the doctor to come in
ED=( 10 minutes later knocking on door) hey guys how are we today
J= we are good doctor how about yourself
ED= I am doing fine
E= that's good to hear
ED= so I got your blood work back and you are indeed pregnant Erin so congrats to you guys
J= why thank you
ED= so let's take a look at your baby to determine how far along you are so just lay back and lift up your shirt
E= all right I know the drill
ED=( put the wand on her stomach) actually it looks like you were still not far enough along to do it this way so I will leave will you take your pants off so we can do it the other way
E= all right ( she leaves)
J= can I please do that I love to take your pants off
E= jay Alexander
J= what
E= The doctor just left and besides it's too late I'm done already
J= you are no fun
E= whatever( knocks) you are good doctor
ED= all right let's try this again (puts the little one inside her) sorry this may feel weird)
E= it's all right
ED= and there is your baby
J= wow so tiny
ED= do you guys want to hear the heartbeat
J= yes we do
ED= all right here it is (heartbeat sound)
E= oh my
J= The most amazing sound ever
E= couldn't agree more ( kiss her)
ED= oh my wait a second.( turns the screen)
J= what's going on
ED= oh yeah that's it
E= dr. what's going on
J= it's something wrong
ED= here take a look ( turns the screen back ) so here is your baby
E= yes it is
ED= well turns out that you have another baby hiding behind your first baby
J= wait doctor are you saying what I think you're saying
ED= yes I'm saying that congrats guys you're having twins
E= well ain't no way how is that possible
ED= it's possible to have twins even if it doesn't run in either of your families
J= wow that's
E= i'm beyond shocked
ED= so based on The measurements of both your babies you are almost 9 weeks along and that put your due date to be May 7
J= wow that's crazy
ED= so everything else looks good so I will see you guys here in another four weeks
E= all right thanks
The doctor leave so we gather up all her things and head to the front desk to make the next appointment then we head out to the car so that we can go to work
J= wow that
E= that was a shocker
J= oh yeah so can I say that I have some super sperm to get you pregnant this time around
E= this isn't funny Jay
J= come on Erin it's kind of funny
E= it may be funny but still we are going to be having five kids here the next few months
J= we will handle it together we are the best team there is
E= yes good point
J= so let's head to work and tell everyone we are having twins
E= actually before we go I want to run something by you
J= okay what is it
E= what if we didn't tell people we are having twins at all
J= like hide your pregnancy the whole time
E= no that's impossible there's no way I can hide my growing pump that long
J= also our job isn't the most safe job to hide a pregnancy at
E= not at all but what I mean is when we tell you on the news we only say we are having one more baby not two
J= good idea but will we tell them eventually like maybe when we find out the gender
E= I think it'll be fun to hide it from them the whole time like they won't find out we are having twins until they are both born so what do you say
J= you know what that sounds like fun let's do it
E= all right Great let's get to work before Hank is mad at us for being late
J= good idea let's go
We head into work we arrive within 20 minutes as we walk and I see platt
E= hey trudy can you maybe come upstairs here in a few minutes
P= okay? Sure Erin
We had upstairs
AR= hey Erin you guys are late
J= only by five minutes
E= so get over
HV= ( knocking) come in
J= hey Hank
E= sorry we are late
HV= it's no big deal we haven't caught a case yet
J= well that's good
E= well we do have a reason for being late
HV= let me guess the kids were being crazy this morning
J= no they weren't they were pretty good
E= so the reason we were late ( pulls out a sonogram picture) was because we went and saw our newest little baby that will be joining us here in the next few months
HV= wait no wait let me see ( hands over) wow that's crazy
J= I know tell me about it
HV= i'm so happy for you guys
E= thanks hank
HV= it's no problem let me guess the same light duty as before right
E= yeah that would work for me
HV= all right so are you going to tell the others are not
J= Yeah we will we just wanted to tell you first
HV= well thank you ( outside in the bullpen)
P= so Erin why am I up here again
J= well platt we wanted you to hear our exciting news also
VR= wait what news
E= well ember isn't the baby anymore
J= she is going to become a big sister here in a few months
HU= that's exciting congrats
AR= wow congrats jay
J= thanks Adam
KB= so this is why you guys were a little bit late coming in today
E= oh yeah can we went and seen our baby for the first time here are the pictures ( pass them around)
VR= so how far along are you guys
J= we are almost 9 weeks
HU= wow that's early
E= yes it is
KB= when did you guys find out you were pregnant again
J= on Porter's adoption day/his birthday
VR= well that's pretty cool
E= well it's actually funny story so last week we had dinner with Will and Natalie and they told us that they were pregnant and after they said that I started thinking maybe I might be pregnant and so I bought a pregnancy test and I took it on Porter's birthday
HU= and it was positive
E= oh yeah
J= she told me that night after the kids went to bed I'm so happy
AD= well congrats guys

HV= all right let's get back to work
We all get back to work we catch a small case but we were able to solve it pretty fast then we finish all the paperwork and head home
Jay's POV: it's been a crazy good week and a half For me and Erin at the start of the week we learned that will and Natalie we're having another baby we were so happy for them the next thing that happened was we got to officially adopt Porter and it happened to be on his birthday. All her friends and family were there when we got to adopt him. Then later that night Erin made that day even more better by telling me that we were having another baby today we had our first doctors appointment everything was good and we found out we were not only having one baby but we were having two which is crazy we both or in a state of shock at first but we are happy about it. We decided to only tell everyone that we are only having one baby and keep the twin part a secret. At work we were lucky and got an easy case and solved it within that day especially since we had plans to hang out with Will and Natalie tonight. Right now as the kids are playing in their room me and Erin are cooking
E= what time are Natalie and will coming
J= they said they would be here about seven
E= that's good we have enough time then
J= so speaking of them coming over so you know how we told the team about one baby are we going to carry on and tell everyone else about only having one baby or are we going to tell my brother and Natalie that we're having two
E= I think if we tell will he might slip up and tell people so to be on the safe side we should say we're only having one more
J= all right that's a good point Will can't keep a secret
E= no he can't so now that it's been a few hours how do you feel about having twins
J= i'm still be on shock but I think it will be fun to have two babies at once
E= oh yeah twice to work and twice the diapers
J= I don't even want to think about that right now
E= I just hope I have at least one boy because I really want one
J= my luck we are having twin girls
E= I wouldn't mind that but I want you little boy that looks just like you
J= I guess we will have to wait and see
E= ( knocking ) that must be them
J= yeah I'll get it ( opens the door) hey guys
OM= uncle Jay ( hugs him)

NM= hey jay where is Erin
J= she is in the kitchen come in ( they do)
E= hey guys
OM= aunt Erin where is Porter
E= him and the girls are in the room playing how about you go play with them for a few before the food is done
OM= all right aunt Erin come on Charlotte( they leave)
NM= it smells amazing in here
J= well Erin did the cooking so thank her
WH= thanks Erin so what are we having for dinner
E= of course you're wanting to know what we're having typically halstead man but to answer your question will we are having chicken Alfredo
NM= oh that sounds great I've been craving that lately
E= so how has this pregnancy gone
NM= it's gone not too bad
J= that's good
E= so while the kids are out of the room
J= we got some news to share with you guys

E= how about you tell them
J= all right so you guys aren't the only ones who are we adding a baby into your family here soon
NM= wait your Pregnant too
E= yes I am
WH= oh my God congrats guys
J= thanks will
NM= when did you find out
J= she told me on Porter's birthday
WH= wow that's amazing
NM= so how did you find out
E= well funny story so remember how last week you told us you guys were having a baby
WH= oh yeah
E= well that night I thought about it and I haven't had my period in a couple months and the following few days I started to feel nauseous. So I bought a pregnancy test and took it that morning of Porter's birthday/adoption day and it was positive
NM= well I'm glad I made you think about it and help you find out
J= I am too
NM= so how far along are you
E= I am nine weeks how far along are you
WH= we are 14 weeks along
J= that's only five weeks difference
E= that's going to be cool to have cousins close in age again
NM= oh yeah and they will be a lot closer in age then Camryn and Charlotte are
WH= oh yeah
E= are you guys doing A gender reveal this time around
NM= I think we will I hate not knowing what the baby is what about you guys
J= we haven't talked about it yet
E= yeah since we just had her first doctors appointment today
NM= oh yeah makes sense so do you have any sonogram pictures that we can see
J= yes we do let me go get them
NM= okay
We look over the sonogram photos for a little bit then we all eat our dinner. After dinner me and will clean up while Erin and Natalie Watch a movie and catch up with each other. About an hour later the little ones start to get tired so will and Natalie take their kids home while we put our kids to bed
E= that was probably one of the easier times getting the girls down
J= couldn't agree more portrait was the same way tonight
E= I think hanging out with their cousins tired them out
J= oh yeah so since we Kinda mentioned it with Will and Natalie do you think we'll find out the genders of the twins
E= oh yeah we are finding out the gender, Twins is enough of a surprise for me I want to know what we are having
J= oh yeah but how are we going to find out the gender but still not tell everyone we are having twins
E= I don't know let's figure it out when time comes closer because right now I'm so tired and I am ready to fall asleep
J= all right we will figure everything out together as a team
E= oh yeah like always
I end up picking Erin i've been carrying her to bed. We cuddle into each others arms still in a little bit of shock that we are having twins but can't wait to meet them sooner than later we fall asleep and start thinking about this new journey we embark on as a team.
