Jays pov: it's been a few weeks since Erin got cleared to go back to work and to be able to play scrabble again with me, Erin also told me while she was at the doctors that she got on birth control because she didn't want to have any more kids right at the moment. I don't blame for that because I think right now we are very content with the kids that we have. The boys are 3 1/2 months old they are starting to laugh a little more each day. Porter Will be starting kindergarten this year and carmyn i'll be doing some preschool this year, here in a couple days It will be a very important day for to good reason The first is it will be mine and Erin's wedding anniversary I can't believe I have been married to this wonderful woman for four amazing The second reason why the day will be special it's because our sweet ember will be Turing two years old I can't believe my baby girl will be turning two years old here soon right now me and Erin are at home
E= can you believe in just four days we will have a twi year old again
J= no I can't it seems like time has come super fast especially with ember
E= oh yeah tell me about it but what else is in four days besides her daughters birthday jay
J= nope you weren't tricking me on this one because I know it's our 4th anniversary
E= wow very smart man yes it is I can't believe I have been married to the hottest man on earth for for the most amazing years
J= oh how sweet it has been a pretty great four years has it
E= yes it has wouldn't change anything about it though ( kiss)
J= same here so are we going to do anything for our anniversary or not
E= I would love to but we have a lot of kids this year
J= we could always ask for time off from work to go away for a little bit
E= Jay we can't do that
J= why can't we
E= Well first of all I just got back from maternity leave which lasted longer this time around because of having twins in the side that would be unfair to everyone else to ask for more time
J= they would completely understand
E= I don't know
J= come on Erin what if we only go for four days not a whole week
E= that doesn't sound too bad
J= See I I didn't think so besides we can always ask Hank and if he says no then we will figure something else out to do here at home always do it ask him
E= I guess so
We spend the rest of the day just hanging out with the kids and other The kids went to bed pretty easy that night the next morning it's very easy the kids stayed asleep until we left for work, once we ride to work we headed straight to hanks office
HV= ( knocking) come in
J= hey Hank you got a second
HV= sure do what's up guys
E= so as you know already Ember is turn 2 years old here in a couple days
HV= yes crazy it's been two years since she has been born
J= I know we can't believe it either
E= so I know I just got back to work from maternity leave after having the boys
J= but can we have a few days off to celebrate ember's birthday
E= and before you asked we understand if you want to say no it's a lot to ask form your ( talking fast)
HV= Erin first of all take a breath
E= all right
HV= And second of all I will let you guys have a few days off
J= wow that's great I hope the others aren't jealous with us getting so much time off
HV= well luckily for you they won't get jealous
E= how do you know that for sure
HV= well ever since you came back from maternity leave it has been pretty busy around here so I think everyone else deserves a couple days off as well
E= wow that's nice of you
J= Super nice of you Hank
HV= well let's go tell them
E= all right ( put in the bullpen)

KA= sure can what's up boss
AR= Please tell me we are not getting yet another case I still haven't finish the paperwork from two cases ago
HU= that's because you're slow babe
HV= well good news there isn't another case right now but that's because I decided to do something nice for all of you
AD= You did what was it
HV= I decided after today I don't want to see you again until next Tuesday
AR= wait are you saying you are giving us time off of work
HV= yes I am Adam I am saying that so how does that sound to everyone
KA= that sounds amazing boss
HU= so amazing
HV= so today is catch up on paperwork day and once you're done with it you guys can go home and I won't see you until next Tuesday
AR= all right thanks boss
HV= it's no problem
We all get started on our paperwork me and Erin Were able to finish within a couple hours then we headed home to hang out with our kids about an hour later it was time for the nap so we like the girls and the twins download Porter just play quietly in the living room
J= so looks like we have a couple days off just to relax
E= oh yes we do
J= see I told you it was nothing to worry about with Hank he gave us and the whole unit time off
E= yes he did
J= so what are we going to do for these couple days off that we have especially for anniversary and ember's birthday now
E= I don't know, maybe I have an idea
J= you do what is it
E= well what if we went to the cabin to celebrate us and ember
J= I think that sounds perfect
E= okay also to add to that idea I have some thing else to go along with it
J= you do what else
E= I know it's our anniversary but how would you feel if we invited Hank and your family to go up to the cabin so we can celebrate ember
J= I think that's a great idea Erin we can always celebrate us whenever we don't really have time to celebrate ember
E= all right that's good so maybe we should invite them all over for dinner tonight to ask them to come to the cabin to celebrate ember
J= oh yeah I'll go text my family
E= and I'll text Hank
Me and Erin Go in text everyone they always fun fact that they will be happy to join us for dinner about two hours later I get the dinner done just in time for everyone to show up, and we all went straight into eating a food and got done eating within 30 minutes
PH= Wow Jehu knew you were a great cook you must've gotten it from your mother
WH= oh yeah She was the best cook
J= couldn't agree more
E= so Natalie how has it been with three kids since having little mister maverick
NM= it's been crazy but overall not as bad as I thought it would be with having three kids
J= well that's good to hear
E= has he slept through the night yet
WH= he is so close to sleeping through the night but still hasn't got there yet
J= well that's good
NM= how about the boys had they slept with
E= nope they last about four hours at a time may be a little longer each night
WH= wow poor you guys
J= it's not that bad
HV= So first of all J you surprise me with your cooking skills
J= why thank you
HV= You're welcome and second of all I wouldn't be the head of the best team in Chicago I didn't know that you guys didn't just invite us over to have dinner it's more of you want to tell her something or asked for something
E= of course you figured it out
J= I guess we can't get anything past you at work or at home
NV= no you can't so what's up
E= well the reason we invited you guys over here is because
WH= don't tell me you guys are crazy enough to be having yet another kid
J= ( spits out his drink ) wait really will you think that
WH= why do you guys have a whole Lotta kids so what's one more
PH= will that's actually kind of mean to say to your brother You should never assume anything
E= First of all this isn't about being pregnant because I decided we have enough kids for right now so I got it on birth control and second of all I don't think you would like anyone to say that to you and Donellie about having anymore kids would you
WH= no I won't
J= good we cleared that up so everyone knows in the next couple days it will be a little girl very special day
NM= oh yeah it's ember's 2nd birthday that's crazy it seems like yesterday she was just born
E= oh yeah tell me about it Natalie it doesn't seem real that she's growing up so fast
PH= oh yeah she has, to be honest in my opinion I think she needs to slow down
HV= couldn't agree more with you Pat
J= so since it's our anniversary on top of it me and Erin want to head off to the cabin to celebrate both things
E= and we want to know if you guys would like to come up and celebrate with us too so what do you say
NM= I think that will be great
PH = same here
WH= what about work for you guys
J= well our boss over here ( points to hank) he actually gave the whole unit a few days off
PH= wow that's nice of you
HV= Why thank you everyone has been working so hard lately I thought they are deserved a couple days off from work
E= which we totally appreciate
J= yes we do so what do you guys think of do you want to join us up at the cabin
NM= we would love to
WH= but we work tomorrow
E= do you guys have to work Friday or Saturday
NM= no we actually have the weekend off
J= wow that's cool
E= so how about this you guys can come up on Friday or Thursday night after work
WH= that could work
NM= yeah we could head up Friday morning
J= that's good so Hank Dad what about you guys what you up to come join us up at the cabin
PH= I would love to
HV= I think I would love to join you guys too but I actually don't know where this cabin is
J= well we can either send you the address to the cabin or maybe ride up with us
PH= or maybe if it's okay me and you can drive up together to the cabin
E= that would be fun would you be okay with that Hank or not
HV= do you know what pat that actually sounds fine to me I just hope your phone is leaving Friday morning because I have to do something tomorrow
PH= that's fine with me
J= that works
We all decide that me and Jay will go out first and get everything set up in the cabin. Everyone stays for about an hour and then leaves to go home. We get the kids in bed they were pretty easy to put down yet again, once they went to sleep we went and packed all of our stuff that we needed for a short trip to the cabin we decided to get up early the next morning and head straight to the cabin
Erin's pov:it's been about a month and a half since jay went back to work and it hasn't been too hard with all the kids but luckily I send jay pictures of the kids And he loves it and then about a month ago I was cleared to go back to work which was kind of hard to leave the boys and not see him every single day but the nanny has been also sending me pictures, it also has been super busy at work lately, in the next two days it will be a special day for two good reasons One which is mine and Jay's anniversary which will be four years married to the most amazing man ever. And the other reason is the most important which is ember's Second birthday it doesn't seem real that she's getting ready to be too seems like she was just born yesterday. Yesterday we asked Hank if we could have a couple days off to head off to the cabin to celebrate our anniversary and her second birthday and of course he said yes because he ends up giving the whole unit time off, then I decided later that night that maybe we should have the whole family come up with us and they all agreed. So this morning we headed straight to the cabin early we decided to stop at target to have some groceries and other things that we need including a couple presents for ember, Will you arrive at the cabin within three hours
J= and we are finally here
E= thank God but good thing is the kids slept for most of the drive down here
J= that is a very good point
E= how about I take the birthday girl's birthday present up inside while you start unloading the car since they are still asleep
J= all right
E= then I will come back and help bring the kids inside
J= all right that works for me
As I run inside to hide the birthday present J unload the stuff from the car into the cabin, when I come back down I such a bring the kids inside and right when I did the kids started to wake up so it made it easier to bring them inside. The rest of the day played with the kids and even went swimming in the lake nearby for a little bit and then at night we gave the kids a bath and got them to bed and ready for the long day coming tomorrow
E= and the boys are finally down for the night
J= so I'm guessing the boys didn't want to go to sleep tonight
E= no they didn't they kept fighting sleep but they were so tired
J= Oh man Austin so girls in Porter went down easy I decided to wrap ember's birthday present while you were dealing with the boys
E= wow thanks baby to the very good job
J= why thank you it's crazy to me tomorrow we will have a two year old
E= I know I can't believe it but what if I'm crazy is that I have been married to the most sexiest man ever on earth who is also the best time to our crazy kids
J= oh really well I'm married to a very sexy wife and have turn off her for so many years but only officially been married to her for four amazing years
E= oh how sweet are you ( kiss him)
J= I try to be
E= to think back to last year we started to think about having one more baby at this point
J= but we got two for the price of one
E= ( laughs) oh yeah in the end I'm glad we had twins
J= same here i'm so unbelievably happy that we have those boys
E= well it's been a crazy year for this whole family
J= oh yes it has how about let's head off to bed
E= all right ( start to get up) oh wait a minute
J= did you forget something downstairs
E= no I didn't
J= okay what's up then
E= well since we mentioned earlier but it's also anniversary tomorrow I got you a present
J= you did what is it
E= well how about you close your eyes then I will give it to you
J= really Erin why do I have to
E= because I Told you so and if you love me which I know you do you would love to see the present so please close your eyes
J= fine I'll close them only because I love you so much and I can't wait to see what is my present ( close his relationship eyes )
E= why thank you ( starts to get undressed ) I hope I still look good because I just had twins a few months ago so go ahead and open your eyes babe
J= ( he does) wow Erin just wow
E= are you sure I look okay and less I have been a little self-conscious especially since I just had the boys a few months ago
J= Erin you no matter what look amazing but after giving birth to twins no other than that and giving me the best birthday present ever you are the most beautiful woman ever you are beyond words anymore
E= oh man I married the best man ever
J= oh yes you did now can I take this off and put a couple rounds of scrap with you now or do I have to wait
E= of course you can
J= thank God I don't know how much longer I could just stand just looking at you
Jay give me the most passionate kiss ever they enjoy a couple rounds of scrabble later we snuggle into each others arms and then head off to sleep soon after. The next morning I wake up with jay staring at me
E= oh my god can you stop staring at me it's still creepy every single time
J= I can't help it my wife is hot sue me for staring
E= ( kiss him) you are such a dork)
J= but you love me
E= yes I do dork
J= officially happy anniversary babe
E= why thank you same to you
J= you're welcome
E= so first question has the boys , carmyn or the birthday girl woken up yet
J= nope they are all still asleep
E= wait does that mean the boys actually slept through the whole night
J= yes they did that's pretty cool
E= I guess this cabin is magic for more than one reason
J= totally we came up with all the kids names here
E= and now it has made the boys finally sleep through the night
J= I guess this cabin is the best place to be
E= it totally is my favorite little getaway place to go
J= see I told you this so many years
E= yes whatever so my next question is how's your family texted to let you know when they will be arriving or how close they are to getting here
J= I don't think so let me check ( he does) well will, Natalie and the kids said they will be here in about 2 1/2 hours what about hank
E= um let me check ( she looks) looks like Hank and your dad will be here in about 2 1/2 hours also
J= that's great
E= almost seems like they are either driving together or following each other down here
J= yeah it seems like it doesn't it
E= well that means we better get up and at least get dressed for the day
J= oh yeah since we have no clothes on here maybe one more quick round of scrapple before we have to get clothes on us
E= I guess why not
We played a quick on the scrabble about 30 minutes later when we were done the twins woke up so went to go get them while I went to freshen up and get dressed for the day, when I was looking in the mirror I noticed something on my neck
E= Jay Alexander
J= what is something wrong
E= yes there is look at my neck
J= ( he does) oh my I must really love my wife ( laughs)
E= Jay this isn't funny now I got to cover this hickey up before everyone gets here
J= it doesn't look that bad
E= To you it doesn't but to me and everyone else it looks bad besides how was it this one time you give me a hickey but not the other times
J= Who knows I guess this cabin is beyond magical at this point
E= whatever dork are the kids still asleep or did the boys wake them up
J= luckily they are still asleep
E= that's good how about you go get these boys something to eat and start breakfast while I figure out how to cover this up
J= all right let's go boy
E= you boys are so cute, when I get done here I will check on the girls and then we will be down
J= all right babe
Has Jake us downstairs with the boys and get some set up With their bottles I start getting the hickey covered up on my neck and then check on the kids quickly they were awake so we all went downstairs to go see what she has started cooking up

CN= it's ember's birthday

E= yes they did

E= she didn't want to be held and wanted to walk down the stairs all by herself

We all go eat our breakfast about 30 minutes later we were all done eating Show me and the kids can play in the living room while J does the dishes another 20 minutes when he was done he came to play with us . About another 30 minutes later we all start to hear cars pulling up into the driveway
J= well it sounds like they are here
E= oh yeah kids look who's here
PJ= who's here mommy
J= how about we go to the door and see who's here
EG= yes daddy ( door opens)
PH= where is the birthday girl
EG= i'm right here
J= hey Dad how was the drive up here
PH= it wasn't too bad me and Hank had some great conversation on the way up here right hank
HV= yes we did I also learned some interesting stories about Jay as a little boy

Well me and Natalie put down the boys for a nap Jay shows hang around the cabin about five minutes later the boys are finally asleep
NM= let's hope he wakes up happy after a good nap

HV= it looks very nice I can see why you guys always want to come up here when you guys have time
J= wait but I only wish the cabinet wasn't so far away from Chicago
WH= can integrate more if it was closer I think this would be a weekend place to get away to
NM= that is for sure
We'll catch up while we cook the lunch and start decorating for ember's birthday party about three hours later Jay and his dad and Wilkos get the boys up from their nap while Hank is playing with the girls and Porter
E= oh man these kids
NM= they sure love Hank
NM= ( looks at her neck) I can see Jay clearly loves you
E= oh my God you can see it I thought I covered it good enough this morning
NM= let me guess this is the first time jay gave you one of these
E= oh yeah and I might kill him later for this
NM= well I'll give you tips on how to cover that better since I've had them a few times before

NM= oh yes he has one first time he gave me one Maggie called me out on it

J= they all slept pretty well
WH= so good that we had to change their diaper but Dad got Pee on

J= but to Dad's defense the boys all Peed at once and aimed at him
HV= oh man Pat that must've sucked to get Pete on on by all of your grandsons at once
PH= oh yeah also it's been 30 years since I change the typewriter I forgot that you have to be careful when you're changing boys because they can pee on you
E= oh boy I guess you have learned your lesson now
PH= oh yeah

J= I think so
E= ready for cake ember girl
EG= yes I am
We all celebrated ember Face singing happy birthday to her and then all of us eating cake, then older kids help ember Open her presents she loved every single one of. The rest of the day all the kids played with the new toys that ember got when it came time for bedtime we put all the kids to bed luckily they all went down pretty easy, jays family And he just went into the room for the night certain it's just me and Jay now
E= today was a real great day
J= yes it was ( see a note) " everything set up for you guys have fun" love Hank, Will and Pat
E= what are you looking at
J= oh nothing
E= all right I don't know about you but I am beyond tired
J= i'm tired too but not too tired
E= oh really I'm surprised
J= Tell my beautiful wife on one of the best days ever can I show you something

J= well before I show you anything you have to put this blindfold on
E= are you kidding me
J= no I am not beside you always find for me or help me always close my eyes so please just this once do it for me

J= oh believe me you would want to stay awake for this little surprise take my hand we are going somewhere

Jay takes me for a walk I hope I don't walk into things or fall asleep from the darkness within two minutes we stop walking
E= why did we stop walking
J= well we arrived at the surprise

E= ( she does) wow it looks so pretty out
J= what does happy anniversary babe
E= you are the sweetest babe

E= wait how did you get this all set up I was always around you today
J= well I actually had a little help with this set up Hank and my dad helped me out
E= oh wow I'm very impressed
J= well then let's sit down
E= all right please tell me there is some food here because I am starving
J= of course there is so first we have chicken and beef kebabs
E= Oh they look so good
J= then we have some pasta and shrimp
E= oh the best combo
J= and for dessert we have three options
E= we do what are they
J= either you have chocolate covered strawberries, Red velvet cupcakes and lastly strawberry cheesecake
E= well Jay Alexander do you know a way to my heart because these are all my favorite foods
J= I guess I know my wife like the back of my hand
E= yes you do
J= why don't we start to eat this food before it gets cold
E= yes let's eat
We eat our food enjoyed that one time that we get for once. Once we are done eating the actual food within 15 minutes Chase back against the tree and I sit back in between his legs so I can lean against his chest as we look at the view in front of us
J= what a great view
E= it's so pretty I could stare at this lake forever
J= Oh I was talking about my wife not this lake
E= ( laughs) whatever dork I can't believe this place is such a special place for us as a couple and as a family
J= I know I guess I was right about this place years ago when you were the one that doubted it
E= yeah maybe I'm just happy that I'm here now
J= couldn't agree more ( kiss her Temple)
E= to think when Hank partner us up about seven years ago that he would be inside with five of his grandkids and your family
J= he didn't think this would ever happen
E= no he didn't he even tried to stop it from it happening from the beginning
J= oh yeah with " if you want to stay in this unit then keep it in your pants Erin it's off limit" statement he told me years ago
E= I guess you didn't listen
J= no I didn't
E= i'm very glad you didn't
J= me too it's crazy six years and five kids later we have a pretty great life so far
E= yes we have and so much more to come
J= totally let's eat some dessert to celebrate the best day that happened four years ago
E= couldn't agree more
We feed each other are deserts about 20 minutes later we had inside to play a little scrabble before we head to bed we will head home late Sunday Night it was a great little short trip that we made up to the cabin it was well worth it

Also I know I keep changing it from the cabin up there or down at the cabin but I don't know which way the cabin is compared to where they are in Chicago so I did my best.
