"No matter how much we hate, fight, or scream at each other I will always be your little brother" - Ark Pendragon
Ark had to hold back a chuckle as Mordred gazed at the King with awe and admiration. Everyone calls this so called King perfect... Ark turned away from the view, but really this 'King' wasn't perfect at all especially from what he has seen and heard.
The boy recalled his past life and watching the Fate Series... he couldn't help but scoff. The King of Knights wasn't perfect, because nobody can BE perfect
Looking towards Mordred he couldn't help, but smile as she watched the King trot by them, however they paused and turned towards the siblings.
Ark blinked when he saw Mordred tense up making him turn around and see the King of Knights staring down at them from their Pure white horse. The lion armor was very threating, but also had a very noble feeling around it.
The King stared at the two siblings, but was mostly focused on Ark who simply crossed his arms not bothered by the fact he was being looked at by none other then the King.
"Come on Mordred, You wanted some food right?" Ark tugged on his sister's sleeve who couldn't pull her eyes away from the King. Ark sighed and started to drag the girl away from the area since they seem to be gaining some attention.
"Ugh, have you no shame, bow before your king!" A random Knight yelled while Ark scoffed which didn't go unnoticed by the King. "Did you hear me!"
Ark turned towards the Knight and pointed at his right ear with a annoyed look on his face.
"No, I'm pretty sure I'm deaf in this ear, how about saying that again in my other ear." The Knight looked pretty mad after that and Ark didn't care if he was pushing it, the boy didn't like crowds and he definitely didn't like how the King was just staring at them. "Come on Mordred!" Ark growled as he started dragging the female away.
The Knight was about to chase after them, but the King stopped him. They looked down at him and stared for a second.
"Leave the children be, they didn't do anything wrong." The King said with a emotionless voice as the Knight backed down with a reluctant nod knowing better then to argue with the King.
The King looked back towards the retreating duo and couldn't help but feel intrigued about what transpired a few seconds ago.
They have seen their fare share of emotions show by their people young and old. They all ranged from: Awe, shock, fear, hope, and happiness.
That boy however didn't show anything except annoyance and by the looks of it didn't once care about being yelled at by the Knight instead talked backed with a bit of snark and sarcasm.
...the other boy had a familiar emotions of Awe, but that was it, the first boy intrigued them greatly...
Ark held back a sigh as he finally reached the destination with his sister in toe who has yet snap out of it. The Boy spun around and stared at his sister. A frown spread across his face.
Now he had two options, snap Mordred out of it or let her daydream... he really like the first option.
"Did you see him?" Mordred mumbled making Ark stop and click his tounge realizing he didn't have to do anything to her... that's a damn shame. "Did you see the King and how perfect he was." Ark sighed and shook his head at his sister.
"Sis." Mordred blinked and glared something fierce. Ark crossed his arms and waited. "Are you done?" Mordred stumbled back slightly at how calm Ark was. She expected him to be amazed by the sight of the King, but by the looks of it he wasn't bothered at all.
"Are... are you not surprised to see the King in person?" Mordred said confused and slightly angry. Ark shook his head making the girl even more mad then she already was.
"I just don't understand what excrement is all about Momo." The girl tensed up at the nickname and looked ready to punch the boy. Ark scoffed and rested a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Listen, I understand that you admire the King and look up to what he does, but please be sure to keep this in mind." Ark looked around and leaned in close. "Nobody is perfect, nobody CAN be perfect, keep that in mind Momo, I care about you and worry about you, so please keep an open mind about what you think about others and how you view them."
The blond girl stared at her brother before brushing his hand off... then punching him in the gut full force. Ark wheezed as all the air in his lungs left him. Pain spread across his body as he fell to his knees clutching his stomach In agony.
"What did I say about calling me that?" Ark only gasped trying to sucking in some air, but that proves to be painful. Mordred sighed as he crouched down and helped Ark to his feet. "Come on, we still have some food to buy." And with that Mordred dragged him towards the stall that held all sorts of meats.
Ark was struggling to suck in some air as his stomach still hurt from that punch. That girl can pack a punch with those hands of hers no surprise really. Mordred looked at him and the flash of regret passed through her eyes before they vanished... but she still needed to say something.
"Oh suck it up, that was a very weak punch." Ark could only look at her with a glare that made her scoff and chuckle. After a few minutes Ark was finally able to breath more normally which still hurt slightly.
The duo approached the stall and greeted the person who run it. The person smiled at seeing a familiar face.
"Ah Ark, how have you been?" The stall owner said smiling at seeing the Young boy approach. "And who is your companion?" The man looked over Mordred with a curious expression. While the female scoffed and looked away.
"I've been good Harry, this is my... brother Mordred." The female nodded her head in a silent greeting while the man nodded back.
"I didn't think you had a brother, anyways, you want the usual right?" Ark nodded his head as he reached for his coin pouch which was hidden inside his shirt.
"Alright that will be 100 gold coins." Mordred flinched at the cost not realizing how expensive food was, but Ark simply paused and looked at the man in confusion. The boy could have sworn that it was supposed to be cheaper, when did it get so expensive?
"100?" Ark said evenly making Harry flinch at the way Ark stared at him. "I got the same thing last time only for 50 gold coins, what happened?" Ark leaned forward staring at the older man with a hard glare.
"Ark, you're a good kid, but I have a business to run, the Hunter that usual brings me the goods has been having a difficult time getting some decent game so please forgive if I have to bump up the prices." Harry explained knowing full well he couldn't fool the boy which still intrigued him on how mature Ark was.
"Hhmm, alright fine, but the next time I come here it better be back to 50 gold coins." Harry sighed while Mordred looked her brother In shocked. Why was he going to spend so much gold for them.
"Don't worry Ark, I can guarantee you that prices will return to normal." Harry reached out as Ark put the exact amount of money in the man's hand and waited.
Harry handed Ark a large bag which made the boy grunt slightly at the weight. He nodded at the man before walking away with Mordred in tow. The duo were silent as they walked through the village.
Ark snuck a glance at Mordred only to see her deep in thought, so he decided to strike up a conversation since they never really got to talk together especially when Morgan was around.
"Soo..." Mordred glanced at Ark with a raised eyebrow. "Do we need any seasonings?" The boy felt like kicking himself, he wasn't one of the best people to start a conversation, but he had to roll with it. "Or any preference on seasoning?"
"Ark... you do realize I have no idea what you're talking about since I'm never in the kitchen and don't cook my own food." Ark chuckled and nodded his head. "And secondly I have no clue how to cook, and whatever you make is way better." Ark turned to her making his sister turn away with arms crossed.
The boy really wanted to tease her, but decided not to, especially since his stomach still hurts from that punch...
"Well I could teach you." Mordred perked up slightly, but narrowed her eyes a few seconds later. "Only because I won't always be there to cook for you." Now the female looked alarmed... and worried.
"W-what?" Mordred said with her eyes narrowed as her hands balled up tightly as her knuckles turned white.
"I'll say it again, I won't always be there for you Mordred so you'll eventually have to cook for yourself." Now Ark wasn't stupid he can see what his words are doing to Mordred, but he continued on with what he was saying.
However in Mordred's head was something else entirely. She was thinking Ark was going to leave her all alone with her she didn't want him to leave she wanted to stay by her side.
"And why is that?" A growl left the female's lips making Ark take a step back making absolutely sure he wasn't in Mordred's swinging range.
"Uuhh..." Ok Ark didn't expect Mordred to respond, he thought that maybe she would freeze up and have no clue what to say. "I don't-"
"Is it because how Mother treats you!" Ark looked around noticing how people were looking at them. "Or is it because how I treat you when she is around!" Ark flinched at that part. Mordred would act much worse when Morgan was around to the point where she had to beat him just so that it could convince the witch.
"That's no-" Ark tried to speak, but Mordred cut him off.
"Shut up!" Ok, Ark took a mental note to never start up any conversation again, cause it seems this talk seriously backfired on him. "You were planning on leaving weren't you that's why you're telling me this!"
"Momo, I never plann-" Ark tried to explain, but that only received him a punch in the face. The blond haired boy fell to the ground with a thud as he dropped everything in his hands.
The taste of metal was strong in Ark's mouth. He also felt warm liquid trailing down from his now crooked nostrils. Reaching up he wiped the blood off his face while spitting out any extra blood. Ark picked himself up and turned to face Mordred who was breathing heavily while glaring at the boy before her.
Ark brushed himself off while his own angers skyrockets. He looked at his sister who slowly realized what she did, but once again pushed it aside and continued to glare at him.
Ark tried everything he could to stop Morgan's influence from taking over Mordred, but it was all in vain. There would be times where Ark's words would reach her ears and realize the error she caused, but Morgan's influence was much stronger then the boy anticipated.
Everyone watch as the boy rolled his shoulders, but it was pretty obvious that he was pissed.
However Ark took a deep breath and picked up the bag of meat with a small grunt. He tossed it over his shoulder and turned around, but he slammed into something. Ark stumbled back only to see the King of Britain who was staring down at him.
They crouched down to Ark's height and reached up with their armored hand. The blond boy didn't even flinch when the cold metal touched his face and wiped away the fresh blood.
Ark pushed the hand away while reached up to his nose and without warning pushing the nose back in place with a small grunt. Mordred flinched at the sound before looking down at the ground.
The King stared at the boy who looked up at them. His emerald green eyes staring at the empty slit of the lion helmet. For some reason staring at the boy really made the King want to ruffle his blond hair. Ark however simply stared at them with a blank expression before walking past them.
"I prefer calling you Queen of Knights." The 'King' for once froze as the boy continued walked trying to contain his growing smirk. He walked passed the white horse and a couple of Knights who noticed the way their King froze.
Mordred stared at the King with a bit of worry before chasing after her brother who was heading back home, but the King continued to stay completely still. After a few seconds they slowly stood up and turned to face the retreating forms of the duo.
Truly the King became curious and decided to follow the duo and saw them talking while the boy now carried a large bag. Suddenly one of the siblings started shouting while the other boy grew uncomfortable. The King watch as the second 'boy' punched the other in the face.
And that's how he ended up here...
"King Arthur, are you alright?" The King turned to look at the Knight before slowly nodding their head.
"I am alright... I just need to speak with Merlin." Arthur stood up and walked towards his horse. He hopped on his horse and started heading towards the castle.
"You have at lot of explaining to do Merlin..." Arthur mumbled under his breath.
The walk back home was silent for the siblings. They didn't walk side by side. Ark took the front making sure he was a good few feet away from Mordred.
Mordred didn't care, she only crossed
her arms and looked down at the ground. Ark was thinking if he should speak up even though he just decided that he shouldn't start anymore conversations.
"Ark..." The boy glanced at Mordred who huffed and looked away before mumbling something. Ark grunts and slows down slightly allowing Mordred to catch up.
"Care to repeat that?" Mordred flinched once more then finally looked Ark in the eyes.
"I'm..." She hesitated which made Ark's left eye twitch in annoyance. He really hoped that it didn't tak- oh for fuck sake!
"Spit it out already!" Ark yelled angrily making Mordred grit her teeth.
"I'm sorry!" There was silence the only sound was the wind whistling in their ears. Mordred took a deep breath trying to calm her breathing. "I'm sorry for punching you and I'm sorry about what I said... I just... don't want you to leave me..." She looked to see Ark giving her a blank stare. "You are the only person to ever encourage me to keep going... Mother would simply yell and sometimes beat me for failing! Even after all my training to be one of King Arthur's Knights I was hoping that you would still be here to push me forward..."
Ark tilts his head as Mordred started to slowly tear up hating how she is show such weakness, especially to her younger brother.
Ark set the large bag down and slowly walked up to his big sister. He reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder. Mordred looked up too see Ark giving her an easy smile that would always cheer her up.
"Mor- Momo, for what its worth, I never planned on leaving you, we are siblings and we siblings sick together." Mordred open her mouth to say something, but Ark put his hand up. "Siblings will always fight, just like family will but after that we forgive and forget, remember that Sis."
"You know even after that speech I still want to punch you." Mordred mumbled before hugging her brother who chuckled and hugged her back.
"I know, but it's worth it." Ark said stroking Mordred's hair before dragging her towards the meat bag and grabbing it with his free hand. "Come on lets go home so I can make some food."
"Ark..." Mordred said weakly wanting to catch Ark's attention once more.
"Ya sis." Mordred tensed up, but decided to let it slide just this once... she was his brother after all, siblings fight all the time...
"Can I... help with the food?" Ark paused and looked at Mordred who looked away. The boy smiled and tightened his arm around the girl.
"Of course, I'll be sure to teach you as much as possible about cooking!"
"Oi! I didn't ask you too teach me, I just wanted to help!"
"Too bad, I'm going to show you how to cook anyways!" The sound of Mordred groaning was heard, but the soon to be Knight couldn't help the smile from spreading across her face as she enjoyed this
Merlin hummed as he watch the interaction with interest. The pervert wizard couldn't help but smile at what he was watching, but his smile soon shifted into a frown.
"You truly are a mystery little Pendragon... it seems I made the right choice on selecting you to be Mordred's sibling... however that won't change that fate that has been set for her..." Merlin turned around and watched as the door open and stepped in The King of Britain with... her armor.
"Merlin." The Wizard grinned and spread his arms out, welcoming the King.
"Ah, Artoria how have you been, how was your trip in the Village." All he received was silence.
"Don't think I'm a fool Merlin, I know you were watching... who is that boy..." Merlin simply grinned which would have annoyed anyone, but not the King.
"That young boy's name is Ark... the rest I cannot say." Merlin said with a sheepish smile while Artoria crossed her arms.
"Can't say or won't" Artoria said next making Merlin grimace. It seems Artoria has gotten used to his antics... that won't do.
"Won't my King... that boy's role will sooner or later show itself." Merlin watched Atroria's reaction, she didn't express any emotions... the wizard won't lie, he missed seeing Artoria actually express something... but it had to be done... for the good of the kingdom.
"Alright Merlin, if that boy is so important then I will watch over that boy and his siblings which he seems so fond of.." And with that Artoria left the room while Merlin sighed and turned away.
He summoned a mirror allowing him to see Mordred freaking out as she tried to put out a fire that was caused by her trying to cook while Ark pointed at her while laughing.
"I hope you can at least change their perspective about themselves and what they think about one another."
